I do not think you need to apply for replacement since you will not have any use for it once you get naturalized.Besides, it is not going to be replaced within such short notice.
What you must do is to go to a police station and report the incident and keep the copies of the report and present it during the interview.

US Citizenship General DiscussionWilling to bear arms?
QUOTE (NickD @ Dec 4 2009, 11:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My brother got drafted into the army, conned them into sending him to medical school, still don't know how he managed that, served 30 years and retired recently as a Lt. Colonel at the ripe old age of 48. Did get married had three kids and was stationed all over the world, mostly in the nicer spots like Germany, Japan, and Spain. So not really a bad way to bear arms for your country. He is still all military working in VA hospital in Colorado. In constant contact with my three nieces now, that they are finally back in the states.

Certainly no shortage of both girls or boys applying for flight schools, regardless of the branch, they all have airplanes now.

Where I come from, military service is mandatory. Doing your part as a citizen is only commendable.
As long as it involves purely defending your country/people. Unfortunately in today's world the meaning of defense and offense has intermingled. Hence the hesitation on the part of people when it comes to draft...

Bob Dylan's lyrics echo down the decades:

Try hard, get barred
Get back, ride rail
Get jailed, jump bail
Join the army if you fail
Look out kid
You're gonna get hit
By losers, cheaters
Six-time users
Hangin' 'round the theaters
Girl by the whirlpool
Lookin' for a new fool
Don't follow leaders
Watch the parkin' meters

We may need draft if the president keeps sending troops around the world at the current speed and stamina.
It is better to spread it than putting the entire burden on a group of people who volunteered for several reasons.
In my opinion, being for draft is the definition of patriotism. If you are against draft you are unpatriotic.

Unlikely that we will see a draft any time soon. The military is exceeding it's recruitment numbers. My cousin was supposed to ship to boot camp on Dec. 9, but was told that his date was pushed back due to too many recruits.

Yeah, and it's very difficult to get into the Coast Guard or Air Force right now. They pick and choose.

Must be because of the perception that wars are going to be brought to an end by the new president. Lured by the so-called benefits of joining, especially in the midst of the most damaging economic collapse of the century, young people are being recruited. If Obama ends the wars, it will not be as dreadful job with death at the end of the tunnel. But the president chose to follow Bush's footsteps.I expect sudden and marked drop in recruitment figures, even in Coast Guard and Air Force...

My granddad was against the draft as he had 5 tiny children. He avoided being sent to kill Turks but then they drafted him and he was quickly killed in France.

Was he unpatriotic ?

Was he pro-war? If he were and he did not want to join the war effort then he was unpatriotic, otherwise no.

I am for draft. Let everyone feel the pain. Also there should be a war tax. War is not free. It is government spending, big government. I wonder how would the fiscally conservative people react to realities... Will they answer their country's call and join the military and pay the war tax as a true patriot should or?

QUOTE (Hopp @ Nov 27 2009, 10:23 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
All this talk about ridiculous and aggressive, I dare say dishonest speed laws and practices in various states just makes me glad I got a professional radar detector installed a couple years ago. Those on the dash/windshield ones are a joke, and cops will just take you for a lead foot if they see it stuck to the windshield.

I highly recommend this unit. Just to be aware of the speed traps and revenue collectors with guns. I don't speed by practice, as I love to get 30+ mpg in my Toyota. But I want to be aware of sneaky cops trying to give out $450 traffic tickets. Especially in AZ, they are very aggressive and sneaky. My condolences to the OP.

This is all you see in your car and can be placed in the most discreet areas, even under the dash. A speaker alerts you a half mile or more ahead of time when radar or laser is being used up the road.

The main receiver goes behind your grill. The laser diode detectors go up front and then attached about license plate frame. The laser diodes also "shift" the laser light bouncing off your car, kinda like a stealth plane bounces/absorbs radar waves. Very cool and trouble-free. Will pay for itself for sure as broke municipalities are under pressure to generate more revenue on the backs of everyday work commuters. Good luck and safe driving. Don't be a fish in a barrel.

How much did it cost you to have it installed? Any links to the product?

Thanks 'internetkafe'. now i have one question.

Now i m a U.S citizen and wanted to apply for my daughter. She born in Pakistan before my citizen ship. Now how do i apply? apply N-600 or I-130?

Please advise me.

KamranAshraf1,

I am not sure, but it seems it depends on the age of the child. There is an automatic citizenship act, but one of the conditions is that the child has to be living in the US as an immigrant. Here is an information page: http://blog.davidbre...ip-act-of-2000/

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBest way to contact a consulate

Hey thanks for that info, and I did just as you said, and the NVC is going to forward that request on to the consulate in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I appreciate your constructivenss. So many people on this website are part of the problem and not the solution, I think many of them want to lord over those who are still struggling in our journey when they have completed theirs already. What goes around comes around. But you sir are breath of fresh air thanks for your info, and your guidance. God Bless, and good luck to you as well in your journey.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionfeburary /22/2011 8;30 interview

hello vj.i will get my interview after 3 weeks.. me and my decided to interview together...i called us embassy here in ankara they told me to call them back between 16;00 to 17;00 and i called them that time no one were there answering me ..it was just michane was talking.....can u please help me...how can my wife go with me to usembassy building....i dont know anything about that ....or without calling usembassy can my wife still go with me or no?

melbar,

I had the same issue when I called the embassy BUT this is what you need to do and then you will get a "live" person.

Call the number which is 0312 455 5555 between 16:00 -17:00 as you already probably know!
You will hear a recording that gives you the option of English or if you want then wait and it will offer the message in Turkish.
There will be a kind of a long message at this point and will say "if you want to speak to someone about an Immigrant visa then press the number that they offer and wait and if it goes to the "machine" it is because they are busy with other callers and you will call back and start the entire procedure again until a "live" person answers! DO NOT give up! I called on a Monday and it took me 15 minutes of calling and calling BUT finally I got a "real" assistant so whatever you do KEEP TRYING! You can only call Monday-Thursday and ALL AMERICAN and TURKISH Hoildays they are closed ( I don't think that there are any TURKISH Hoildays coming up soon BUT you would know better than I would and as far as AMERICAN Holidays the 21st of February is an AMERICAN Holiday which is Washington's Birthday) SO, you have a lot of time to call. Another thing that I would do is to email them as well asking them your question and that way you can print it out and take it with you if they say that both of you can attend the interview together....   You can email them by clicking on this link http://turkey.usemba...v/iv-form2.html and completing the information that they ask for and you should receive a response within 5 Business days and if you do not the email the again!
The best advice that I can give you is like I said DO NOT give up.. KEEP CALLING until you actually get a "live" person! If you need anymore help, then just send me a message and Good Luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview at Embassy
Our Interview is coming up very soon (ANKARA, TURKEY) and we need to know what we can take and what we cannot take inside the Embassy. Can I take my purse and are cell phones allowed?

For instance, all of our Documents that are needed at the Interview, can they be in a bag or do they have to be simply carried "by hand" per say? I ask this as I am not sure and don't want to have any last minute surprises and then be left scurrying to find a place to keep what is not allowed.

Thank you in advance!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI was asked about my salary......

Hi everyone
Today was my interview , it was going fine the 2 CO were so nice ( a guy and a girl). But when I was called the third time to get the final decision, the CO gave me the blue note, in the back ,where titled ,( In order to complete your application , please provide the following :
* ( your bank statement for the last 3 months and employment letter with your salary and length of service . )
I tolled the CO that I get my salary in cash from my work, so, he asked me to,then, bring a letter from my work that explain my salary and length of service. Then he gave me my passport back, and he asked me not to send it to the embassy until he calls me.
I provided the form I-134 and a joint sponsor form I-864 affidavit of support.
They also kept my original birth certificate and my divorce decree.
I have never read or saw a k1 beneficiary here mentioning a such issue.
Most of people talk about that they do not count at all the salary or the assets of the beneficiary.
Why me ?
Any one can advice or help or explain ?
Thanks to everyone who will interfere.

Hi,
It is really very strange they ask your bank statment and salary, because it is not matter as long as your Fiance(Petitioner) will support you.Maybe there some confusing?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)I got an RFE

Apparantly
finally got through on the visa number and they told me after reviewing the affidaivant that i am getting an RFE because of my most recent tax year

I sent in a w2 because at the time i had electronically filed and 2005 was not available at the time.

luckily the tax transcripts are now after calling the IRS (nervously)

*big sigh*

My wife got the same message. Missing information and checklist sent. She did not send tax information from 2005. That must be the reason for this RFE.

Firstly, can you do me a favor ;) Not a good idea to address something directly to me or any individual member. It can deter another member from responding to you that is knowledgable on what you are enquiring about. I by no means have all the answers, nor am I knowledgable in many immigration issues and it does make me just a lil uncomfy with the question directed to me.
