IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	IV Instruction Packet	Hello, On the IV Instructions Packet pages I see that they ask for the birth certificates of the beneficiary and also of the spouse and kids under age of 21. I am the beneficiary..only one to immigrate. Should I send my birth certificate only? Another question: I had served in our military. They ask for military discharge papers to be sent also. This and many other documents I am to send to NVC are not in English. I was a translator in the army. Can I translate these papers? Is there a specific format/way required by the NVC? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Anybody got Military history ?	Ok heres the situation... I was briefly with the Army reserves in the UK, however I left during training.. On the DS-230 form it asks for prior military history, so I am listing it.. Becuase I was only in reserves very briefly and only did a little training they did not issue me a discarge certificate (or it was lost when they posted it). I contacted the Army personnel office in Glasgow and they confirmed my dates and the fact that I was discarged at my request. Do you know during the I-130 process if any military paperwork is required ?.. Thanks !! The NVC asks for military discharge paper. If it is impossible for you to get that you can provide them with any proof that you had military background. It is better to tell the truth. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Need some advice IR-1 vs. K3	Hi. I could use some advice my husband received his packet from the I-129 process a couple weeks ago and is in the process of getting together all that it asks for to get his Visa interview. In the meantime our I-130 has been approved (yeah!) I understand from reading the IR-1/CR-1 guide that we could abandon the K-3 process and do the IR-1/CR-1 option so he may enter as a permanent resident....however, my wise friend who has previously done the immigration process says that we cannot do this as we have only been married since September. Is this the case? If we can do the IR-1/CR-1 process instead saving us the hassle of the adjustment of status process later on will this take longer to get him here because of switching from the K3 to the IR-1/CR-1? Just wanted to be sure before I take any steps as they embassy in Egypt can be very difficult! Thanks! We do not see your timeline. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Approved I-130 and nothing yet!!! since 6April!!!	hello guys.. How is every body is any one who had his i-130 approved in the 6th of April get any response or hear back from NVC since I call everyday asking about my case and nothing yet and I also sent them email 3 days ago but no reply ..they never tell me if they recieved our case or not or they evenassign a case number I am so confused don't know what to do ..??? hope to hear from them soon ?? How I can know if the NVC recieved our case or not??? Salwa It is perfectly normal. I had waited almost three months after approval of my I-130 for the NVC to assign me a case number. I read a post yesterday and it seems the couple may have been denied the visa because of the age difference. I have been very worried about this. There is not a dramatic age difference between my fiance and I but still I was concerned. But it is great to see people stating that they have received visas even with their age differences and I think it is great that people are making positive posts here concerning that issue. My personal stance is that age is a number, the maturity of a person, what they feel in their heart and the way the two people interact with each other is what is really important. AGE means nothing. You see he is a housecat and he got out in the rain when we moved. Hence the mats. Ugh. So I gave him a bath in a pretty smelling shampoo, and then a miss clarol conditioner to make his fur shine.... and of course, the haircut. So, I decided to give him a Lion Haircut! This is what our cat looked liked when I was finished with him. To protect the innocent, this is a random pic of a persian cat with the same haircut as ours. I love the cat! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January 2011 Filers!!!	Sorry if I came off bit brassy. However, I found you offensive as well when you state that something is wrong "as far as you're aware" , and only go by UNOFFICIAL [threads] data vs. USCIS OFFICIAL data from the actual I-797C in this case. Always check the USCIS website and / or call a USCIS Office for verification if unsure of information on VJ. Especially be careful if going by what was done in the past, but not what is currently used by the USCIS today. This can cause yourself or other VJ members RFE's (regarding documents needed, evidence,etc.), or disappointment from what they thought was their timeline vs. what actually IS, according to the US GOVT. For example: Only last Nov. 2010 the fees for I-129F changed from $455 to $340. USD on Nov. 23, 2010. I was about to send our packet in literally on Nov. 23 rd but with the amount which would be considered wrong on that day ($455 which was valid just a day before). Good thing I had an email from a very good friend who happens to be an Immigration Atty. I made the Bank Check for the correct amount, then submitted a day or two later. If I hadn't, this would have caused us a delay and an RFE because the USCIS would have sent our entire package back to us for the proper fee amount! Really not a big deal as we would have corrected this, but in waiting pains to be with him, yes it would have hurt. That's my point for always checking for official verifications if you are not sure before publishing on VJ threads, that's all. No harm done, and no need to think anyone is attacking you either if corrected. This VJ site information is based on the US Dept Homeland Security / USCIS information and will refer you to the USCIS website if you are unsure. Many of the VJ Veterans are incredibly knowledgeable and if one of them in a thread does not know, or misinformation is said, then another will come and correct it with reference. Overall, the VJ community is very friendly and helpful Good Luck to you! Kudos to you Mari, what a good point you brought up! Even though I am not a K-1 filer, I have a very good friend who filed 4 months ago and is still waiting to be re-united with her Sweetheart! She is a perfect example of how things can get "crisscrossed" and how one can be misinformed for such important information in regards to getting the beneficiary to the USA. Unfortunately, she is not a member of this site(she is a member of a different Immigration community) and she received some erroneous information which ended up in the dreaded "RFE" and a DELAY of course! I told her that she should ALWAYS check, check and re-check (yes, I am OCD) and even then, "things can change with the drop of a hat" just as you were referring to with the change in the fees for the I-129F! I always try to be very careful when answering/posting on VJ as the questions and concerns are sometimes very delicate and IF I were to post an answer or give advice on these matters and it was wrong, of course I would gladly accept a correction and try not to get upset or take it personally even though it is hard sometimes to swallow We all are in the same boat and are here to help and support one another and I know that we get frustrated and impatient (I am VERY guilty of this) SO if one of us makes an honest mistake here, and we are corrected, then be thankful that we have knowledgeable members that are willing to help and support us through this Journey On a final note, Good Luck to everyone one this K-1 forum and GOD SPEED! The only benefit was I was able to get the diplomatic pouch number for tracking puposes. Did you call the consulate and send emails. you want to keep our case there if possible. I cannot give ou advise without knowing what happened. Make a detail account of everything that happened that day for review. You need to find out what happened exactly to refute the AP. Sorr to hear of this. Hang in there! This is always an interesting topic (AP) I just have one question, you asked the OP if they got a 221g refusal. Then he gave me a white paper the paper was a number on it there was a number of it but it was seems like a recipt with a white paper but i dont know it was an AP then he said that go to ups desk you will get ur passport in a week then he told me something but i did not understand so i told him can i ask a question? he said sure i asked him that if i am approved ? then he said something have a nice trip or have a nice visit OMG i was so excited i did not even understand lol.. I hope i m approved so confused right now... what was the white paper i did not even get the number what was writing on the paper and ups worker also did not give it to me back what do you thinking guys am i approved ? Regarding the K3, from several posts that are here on VJ, this has been administratively closed as of last February..... Philippines	chat logs as evidence	Hey everyone, I had a question about the chat logs that I am going to provide as evidence.Is it ok to block out some words on the chat logs that I submit as evidence? Some of the words are private and I was wondering if we could block out just a few words. If I am able to is it better to use a black marker or white out? Also, on the chat logs, they only show our names, the message, and time and date, is that ok or does it need like a logo of where we talked on? Philippines	Filipina wife issues....advice please...	Hey all, first my name is Scott...my wife is from the phillipines...we have been together over a year and married. We have her K1 visa and we are about to go back to the United States. I am a US Soldier and stationed in S. Korea....for the past year I have been sending money to her family, but during this time we have been financially struggeling. My wife is now 16 weeks pregnant with our son, which is amazing bc we have been trying for about 6 months...and while trying i told her on many occassions that once she was pregnant money would STOP to her family..but yet she doesnt see it that way. It all started after we first met and her 4 year old sister needed eye surgery or she would go blind, it was only 300.00 USD so it wasnt that bad, but after that it was her family with their hand out on payday. I delt with it but now i cant because my son's future is at stake. I was sending 350.00 USD every 2 weeks....totaled 7,500.00 USD in 1 year, and then I sent her home with 3000.00 USD when she went home to visit. She has 9 brothers and sisters, two of the boys being 20 and 21. She is the oldest child. Last night I made a comment on her facebook about how happy I was we were having a son, i check later and her oldest brother posted "send money home now says momma". Now this made me extremely angry not only did he disrespect my way of life but he posted on my comment about my son with such non-sense. Today she said she wanted to send 150.00 USD home, I told her no we had discussed last check we would send 100.00 USD every 2 weeks...and thats all. She wont talk to her family about them getting jobs, she just sits quietly and lets them beg and i have to see her upset and crying This is causing our marriage to be in trouble..I love my wife and will do anything to make her happy...but I cant take this stress anymore...what do i do?! As of now I am not sending any money to them, and she wont speak to me going on 2 days now.... I wanna know if i am going to have problems if i use them.I didn't buy new ones because i plan to put my things in these bags I hear rumors that in my POE it's not allowed to bring fake travel bag and suitcase..is this true? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Lost all faith - July VSC	I have officially lost all faith - 5 month mark today and no NOA2. I can see a few more people are still waiting. We called and they toldus to call back after christmas as they didnt know when they would approve it. Is anyone else feeling this utter feeling of uselessness and anger?? 5 shitty months to look at a petition and they cant even do that..... Hi, We are July filler too and on December21 we will have our 5 months but seems it is delay there.I see some August fillers getting their NOA2, just do not be down and keep faith they maybe even testing our relationship who knows we need show them that we are really love each other and we will be faith and go till the end I want my love with me forever so even this delay no matter I am sure it will come better later than never So keep faith we all will get soon.
