Looks like its about time to hit the phones and hit up representatives again. I dont know if that means a decision or just confirmation of a service request. Do they send confirmations on that out a few days after you put one in? They do them in monthly increments (and continue to work on those from previous months not approved yet) Then he should have put in a service request for me because he said if you got your NOA1 on September 11th I could help you but since its September 23rd I cant. I was able to talk to a tier 2 representative after dealing with another stand offish call center rep. The officer was very nice gave me no trouble and put in my service request. She said I should hear something back by March 28th. I dont think she necessarily meant a decision but maybe a confirmation email. So anyway, after a big fight this morning I got an easy call today and got the service request. Its not fair that there really is no rhyme or reason to this. I just need to calm down for a little bit. I am trying to be very polite on the phone at first but I just get fired up. Which is really out of character for me because I am probably one of the most easy going passive people you will meet in real life. This situation just makes my blood boil so to put on a nice face again I need to wait. I just talked to my senators office he said he would call them but I have to call him back on Friday morning for results. I also emailed my congressmans office and the guy there is really good about getting back to me. (He is a friend of a friend so he said he would pay extra attention to my case). I asked why did the lady promise me that if I called in 1 month I would get one? Did she lie to me? He just said those dates are estimated and I said well she shouldnt make empty pormises. I told them I know some people are getting service requests in after September 11th dates. He just said he cant look at what other people are doing and cannot put in a service request. We are thinking that if we dont hear anything by friday we are calling cus that will be a month since our case was assigned to an adjudicator. We were hoping for some news this week! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	how to properly change fiance's address while waiting for NOA2	My girl had to move to a new apartment recently. I guess the embassy in Guanzhou will mail her something in a couple of months. So obviously I need to update the address. Still waiting on the NOA2. So do I call up Vermont and update it with them, do I need to call the embassy in Guanzhou and update with them, or is there a form/webpage I can go to and update it? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Taking too long; Lawyer Recommendations	I tried to do the tourist visa for my girl before the fiance visa. She is Chinese. Well she had to wait 3 hours. at the embassy for her appointment. The man asked her 3 questions and said sorry your denied. She said why, he said next please. He asked her simple things like where in the US are you travelling, how long will you be there (1 month) and something else. But since she is young with not many ties to china and no wealth or large assests they denied her right away. Of course its much easier for western countries like Canada or England to get them but I think you and I are in the same boat. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Thoughts on the 90 day ceremony deadline	We are planning on doing the little courthouse marriage close to day 90. However, in Oklahoma you HAVE to get married in some sort of church so I guess at a little chapel then . Sucks if your a hardcore atheist I guess but I dont mind. Then we will probably have a larger normal wedding like a year later. Too bad none of her friends or family will be able to come since they are chinese, and its near impossible for them to get a tourist visa since they arent rich. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Calling Congressman or Senator	I don't want to disappoint u, I totally recommend to do it but: We first contacted congressman office when we reached 5 months mark. They inquired for us and they were told that we were within the average processing time so call in 30 days. When we reached 6 months we contacted again the congress office (btw they are nice people and apparently want to help) . They get back to us and said they placed a service request and we will here within a week. The week passed and we contacted again te congress office (sounds familiar now , right ?) and they get back to us again and they said we will here latest at the end of the week. Now this id "the week" , as u may see we are here ... 6 1/2 months .... Good luck ! I hope u will have better feed-back . Ha I am following in your footsteps. Last week I hit 6 months and put in a service request. They said I would hear something by Monday. I didnt hear anything so just about an hour ago I asked my representatives to contact them again. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Why can't the k-1 visa's be processed first come, first serve basis????	From what I've read here, there are various reasons why some are processed quicker than others. Some get expedited and others are adjudicated faster (no hits/no criminal records/previous applications etc.) But some say, it's "luck" that their papers get ahead of others. Then I wonder why alot of clean ones still get put behind other clean ones that applied later. I know I have no criminal background or previous application or anything on my record. And unless Jia has been lying to me this whole time I am pretty sure she is clean too. When I called the DOS the lady told me my case number was off by 3-4 digits. So I got the real case number now and packet 3 was sent to my girl today. Unfortunately we havent been able to update her new address because we had the wrong case number and the consulate said they had no received it ugh. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	make sure I am correct about NVC and question about Bene address change	Ok so I got my NOA2 last week. Based on what I have been reading here, the NVC will send me a letter (including the I-34) saying they received my packet next correct? Then (hopefully) soon afterwards they will send the packet to China? Then the embassy mails packet 3 to my fiance correct? My fiance has changed her address since we mailed in the NOA1. I heard some bad stories about trying to change fiances address with the NVC and for some reason it doesnt get changed. I heard its better to change her address with the consulars office in China. But how will I know I can call the embassy to change her address? I dont want them to get the application and turn around and mail out packet 3 to her without me having a chance to change her address. So what I assume I should do then is get the DHL tracking number and when I see its delivered to China, call them up and have my fiances address changed? Thanks alot guys!
