K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2012 filers	Here's my latest update:   I'm hoping that Vivian gets the passport issued tomorrow and then she will fly on friday.  Then the plan on Saturday is to have her shop for a dress and find one that is in stock.  Then in 2 weeks, on friday the 20th we will get married...... It's a small wedding. We got the park/gazebo for cheap, got free make-up, found the dress without any alterations. Everything was great. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2012 filers	I got my medical result yesterday and they gave me a copy of a form DS-2053 instead of DS-3025 Is it normal???? They said that i will need it in US for my next step. I'm worried. I want to ask the officer at the embassy during my interview about what form i need for adjustment status, is it ok? So i can make sure that i will bring the correct form.     Is the DS2053 just one page? (well, it says my visa is in final processing). I'm hoping that means I might well receive my courier package by the end of this week!   Pity my flight hasn't gone down in price for the last week! I'm biding my time hoping flights will go down in price this week then I will book it, I'm still planning on August 9th to fly out.   Stuart   I CANNOT WAIT TO BE IN YOUR SHOES! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2012 filers	Visa Approved    Got there at 7:30am for my 8:30 interview and there was already a queue formed. Took about 30 minutes to get through the queue and security and into the embassy. Then took about another 30 minutes before I went to the first window and handed over my forms and passport. This first bit took about 5-10 minutes.   Then another 30 minute wait until I was called for my interview, which again lasted 5-10 minutes. Was asked how we met, if I had met her parents, where she worked, and when we started talking about marriage and that was it. Then another 10 minute wait in line to pay for the courier.   So all in all it took just over 2 hours, even though today the embassy was REALLY busy.   Now to tie up all the loose ends here in the UK and finish planning our 31st August wedding   Stuart   WOOHOO CONGRATULATIONS!!! If you have money exchanges send that too . My husband was placed on AP in aug 2013. I wrote my congressmen in November my husband has another interview January 3,2014. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Contacting them	It's now been 203 days since they received our package but still no NOA2. I thought it would be a slam dunk. We both worked on a US Air Base overseas and he had a government clearance.    At the 6 month mark, I called and spoke to a Level 2 person and requested an inquiry because we were outside of the normal processing time of 5 months. I received a letter in the mail saying they were proceeding with the inquiry and to wait up to 60 days. Still waiting.   I also requested an inquiry from my senator the same week. Still nothing. I'd like to be that squeaky wheel to keep calling and asking questions where someone would have to actually open my file, but I'm running out of different questions to ask.    Any advice? I am coming upon 8 months now and I contacted my Senator 2 weeks ago. The response the USCIS gave them was "A case officer has been assigned and please allow them 30 days for processing". The Senator's aide I spoke with said to get back with him if I didn't have an answer by the 30 day mark. You can bet I will be calling if I don't hear anything. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Senator said our file is with another department	Several (8+) weeks ago I contacted my Senator because we were outside of the normal processing time. His aide made an inquiry and asked me to contact him in 30 days if I hadn't heard anything.    30 days passed and nothing, so I called the aide again last week.  He asked me to call him back today, which I did he said their response was "It's with another department".    I asked what that meant and he didn't know. Then I commented that it sounded like they were giving him the run around. He said he didn't think so but it was odd it was with another department and asked me to call back on Monday. I have inquired with Tier 2 people, with my Senator and just keep getting told to 'give them 30 more days or 60 more days to process'. The inquiries don't work and apparently my Senator's office has no teeth.    I'm thinking about just telling him to come on over here and stay, then just wait on the new amnesty legislation to hopefully cover him and make him legal. It was a long journey but we received our approval today from the embassy.    We mailed our original packet on 12/3/12 but it was not processed until a 2nd packet was sent and received 2 months later, 2/4/13.   Both were accepted at once, including the checks. That may have slowed the process some for us as we had to have one of the packages canceled. We got our Senator involved at the 5 month mark and it still took another 3 months with the senator's aide finally requesting an expedite, which was honored.   After that, it moved extremely fast.  And now we are approved! I'm booking my visa interview (in Vancouver, Canada) for early August. Did your fiance have to bring in proof that your relationship is still on-going (i.e., proof beyond what you provided in the visa petition)? Walter w00t! Just got the call from my fiance that all went well and his visa was approved!! Many thanks to those of you who have chipped in when I was a newbie and helped lead us towards today. Advice to those of you just starting the process now...positive, positive, positive! Don't bring each other down. Research as much as you can, learn learn learn and ask questions even if they're stupid. Don't stay at home. Get a hobby! Something new and exciting.
