Its a little overwhelming, you are not alone though wacko.gif we have all been through or are going through this process.

Just read every detail of each form along the way you have to provide, and provide 'everything requested'. Details, Accuracy, Proof & Truth. And make copies of everything.

You will find many here that will be of extreme help and read, read, read. And ask !! And Post !

hello VJ members,
i just had my interview yesterday...they gave me pink slip to pay Delbros...congratulated me by the consul.. but I haveto submit first notarized acknowledgemet letter from my fiance regarding my childrens before they will realese my visa...my interview took long time about 45 min its because the consul asked mostly about our emails He reads our emails one by one and asked me questions based on what he reads. believe me there were many emails. He even asked where my fiance get his neckname and mine too...He asked about my kids, pictures of my kids togethr wth my fiance..i was not able to give to him because they dont have pictures togethr..then he look at his appliaction and found out that he did not put my daughters there so He asked acknowledgemnt letter coming from Him...My pre-screener is nice to me and the consulate officer but He is strick in some ways...I thank you to all VJ members who help me how to get passport specially to Jen and Larry...and some who is just there always prepare replies to all our questions..thank you very much and to all who will have thier Interview soon...be sure to know all the details of the supporting documents that you will submit ..like emails and chat logs.. good luck to all

QUOTE (jom @ Dec 23 2007, 12:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Since you already have the form validated by the bank ( thats your proof of payment) you might as well fill that up as your DS-157 to be submitted during the interview smile.gif Just write legibly or use a typewriter.

Merry Christmas and Goodluck

Thank you very much! You both have a very merry christmas!

QUOTE (edp333 @ Dec 23 2007, 10:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You have two options: first, most petitioners fill out the DS-157 proof of payment form and turn it in as one of the two DS-157 required in packet IV for the interview; or the second option is to attach the DS-157 proof of payment form to the back of one of the two DS-157 forms already filled out for the interview.

If you decide to fill out the form you can use a black pen or an old fashion typewriter.

thanks for the very importan information....Merry Christmas!God bless!

Take care David....Everything will be fine, and this will be over soon!!!! wacko.gif

Yeah I Know about missing..wow..3 days before I left her there I was dreading it. When I was in Manila, I honestly just turned around and went back. I haven't been the same since January 20, 2007...it seems forever. I left a big part of me there. And yes the phone bills are going up again here also wacko.gif but I LOVE talking to her.

Hello every one

I was wondering if any body knew of a reliable fiancée assistance service in Manila. I've just got engaged, and my wife to be lives in Manila and she needs assistance with her paper work and such. It's very difficult and time consuming to help from over here. Can anybody help me with this?

thanks
stu123

I faced the same thing also, however, stu123, maybe my fiancee could help her there? I suppose it all depends what she is needing, could you be a little more specific?

Jenny went to USEM, explained the situation (delbros/pinkslip) and the Guard allowed her in. She has the pink slip, paid the delivery fee now. She was told that the Visa should be delivered in 7-10 days. And recieved a text from Delbros stating this:

DELBROS delivers! We will send you another automated text upon the release of your VISA by the US Embassy. DELBROS is always at your service!

Anyway thats the latest. God Bless

ok, I thought I was confused..now I know I am confused. So Jenny should have paid the 165php (as well) then after her interview if she expects to see the Visa at all? She called Delbros and they said the Visa is still at the Embassy. So, she needs to go back to the Embassy and discuss this with who?

Or do I need to call?

I think you should call first. It will be hard for Jenny to gain entry into the US Embassy.

I called, spoke with Grace at the USEM, gave her our case number. She said that it takes up to 3 weeks to process everything to be sent, that it was pending. To call again before this Friday. Said for Jenny to go back to the Embassy and speak with the guard and explain that she hadn't actually paid Delbros yet and needed to (and this was recommended by Grace at USEM). To go to Delbros and pay the delivery fee or it would be 'paid on delivery' when it is sent. Thats all I know right now.

They DID keep her passport however.

I was told by the officer: "Ok, you are approved..wait outside and you will be called again." He gave me back the pictures I submitted at the pre-screener. Then I received a pink slip at Window 37. Surprisingly, I still don't have my visa in hand yet!

Well, I have asked this because here is what happened to Jenny:

She went in for the interview (lasted 5 minutes roughly) and the Consular hardly asked any questions, just a few. And said looks like all of your papers are good and said wait outside until you are called. Jenny asked "Sir, so Iam approved" and the Consular said yes and smiled.

She waited outside again briefly, was called at window 37 and was given pictures back and was told to pay Delbros. No pink slip, nothing. She had already paid Delbros at Metro Bank in Manila the 650php (which is odd because someone else before her paid 165php, there at the Embassy). Anyway , the officer there said good, when she said she already paid. She asked for her passport and they said the passport would be sent back to her. And also the Visa by the person at window 37. And then he said she could go home now (?)

Anyway, she went to the Delbros window anyway and also told them that she had already paid the fee, they said ok, you can go home then. No questions for proof that she paid....no pink slip.....nothing (?) Thats why this is very odd to me.

The Consular said she was approved, but no pink slip and essentially no more questions at window 37 or at Delbros. I suppose Im a little confused here. Same process for everyone??

for those who are still in thee phils & just waiting for the development of their visa ..& also for others who just recently arrived here in US..

you might want to check this post regarding application of USA Drivers License..
SHAPE OF ROAD SIGNS?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

If you haven't experience driving before & you're not doing that much in the Phils, why not ask any of your friends (with car) to teach you how to drive automatic car.. or try to check some driving school out there ...in that way it will keep you a little busy or occupied with something. That might be a lesser cost instead of taking driving class here.. I saw some ad here & the fee is quite high..

i'm telling you its not that easy to have a license here.. ive been driving for 7 years but ahhh it took me 2 times to pass the exam blush.gif blush.gif
& driving is so important here...unless you'll be staying in Manhattan which is you can walk in the street with Sarah Jessica Parker smile.gif ..hhhmmm i like that.. laughing.gif

anyway, if the above link will not work..try this one..
http://annie-thejourney.com/?p=224

Oh by the way...we're in Arizona right now..i dont know specifically how many questions in exam & passing rate in other state..although i posted some sample questions there..at least you will have an idea

cheers!

What Jenny has done is take classes there in the PI first, and obtain a license there..now when she gets here....I will instruct her so that she can obtain her license here. Gotta have a car here in the US even though there are other alternatives.

I just called NVC and asked them on when do they transfer my Case to USEM Manila.

I wanna know this to make sure my case is in Manila when my wife pays for the Document Verification fee.. I had told NVC about it too.. And they told me they don't know anything about it..

So I told em to verify the documents I submitted.. But they insisted that the documents are already verified by them when I submitted it..

I just said.. "oh.. I don't know"

My question is.. When do I pay the Document Verification? I mean I have my Interview date.. But my case is still with NVC, pending for transfer..

Hmmmmm, well here was what was posted awhile back the reference to this 'verification' that is. I believe it was said 2 weeks prior to your interview.
