K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA1 timeline to NOA2
I've asked before, and did get someone to answer the question.....but forgive me, I'm a little slow.

The estimated time between notifications is a little confusing.....for ex. CSC estimated time is 5 months.........is this 5 months from the time NOA1 was recieved?.....now it's under review...will this take the estimated 5 months until NOA2 is approved?
.
I read the graphs, and I still get confused.
My NOA1 was recieved on October 30 2012.....is it hopeful that 5 months or thereabouts later that it will be sent, and then approved by NOA2?

The charts say they are now processing July something...if thats how I read it, then my almost 3 months now looks like another 4 months wait?

Somebody please...in laymans terms......I am patient and know the wait..just trying to explain this to my Girl.
Thanks.......Ronn

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNEW reason for delay at CSC - 48,000 files damaged

Try your senator? I met with a Representative of my Congresswoman last week and waiting to hear back. I'll let you know what they tell me. How long did it take your congressperson to get back to you? If I don't hear back from her in over two weeks I am writing to my Senator. This is insane!

Most of us have heard the stories before........."no text, no email"....STILL, after getting antsy, and checking 4-5 times a day on USCIS website, I phoned My Honey in VN last night @9:00pm, and told her I was going to bed...I had just checked the case. (there was the usual message still'initial review". Told her goodnight, but just checked 1 more time....WHAT!!!!!!!...did I punch in the wrong number?......I read it again, and looked at the hard copy again just to make sure, (as if I didn't know the number by heart already)...SURE ENOUGH!!!!! APPROVED April 24 !!!!......YEA!!!!!!!!! Boy, were we surprised!....so keep checking even if you did 5 times that day. Ya never know. Good luck to everyone else still waiting!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsanyone got their case number in nvc after noa2

NOA2 April 24

recieved hard copy April28

called May 05, given case number. was told it would go out probably May 10

I just think there must be some of their evaluators with different styles and routines hadling these things. Just think how many different people working on these things...separate desks...(or do some work from home?)...someone calls in sick...takes a few days/weeks off...gets fired...quits.....so many "what if" factors....do some of these people really comprehend what they are looking at?

I wonder how many of the petitions they handle just literally fall apart when they handle them (inadequate stapling or paper clipping..whatever)....how many folders they cannot evaluate properly because of lack of "good" organization ?

It all boils down to Supervision.......

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow to keep track of your K-1 case status after NOA2

I may not have this absolutely correct, but from this point on, the petition is solely in her court now.

Any contact with her counrty embassy and interview process is now owned by Her / Him.

Your part is done.   If You have the NVC case number, then Your Fiance will need to do all the inquirey now...I don't think they will even give the Petitioner any information from this point on.

As I understand the process now, once NVC sends it out, it seems from others here that they are finding out that the foreign embassy is reieving them generally in about a week or so.

Give Your Fiance the case number, and have her contact them.

You can track the petition only so far at this point.

Someone else here can give a better accurate explanation I am sure.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportspassed Vietnam interview

Sofia had her interview on July 26.   The time was set to be 9:30am. She arrived just before 8. It was not until almost 12:00 that She was called to the window. SHE WAS THE VERY LAST to be interviewed!      How scary can that be...she was terrified something was wrong.

The young American woman was very friendly. ( Sofia could see the pink slip in the folder even before the questioning began). The woman asked her about 15 questions, all of which were the typical questions, it took about 10 minutes.

So many people gave advice to memorize so many odd and unique questions, but none of the unusual was asked. Sofis did bring some supporting evidence, but the woman only asked to see a picture of us which was in Sofia's documents which she was prepared for.

As far as whether I accompanied her to the interview or not, It  was never asked. She did ask how long I (the fiance ) had been divorced previously, but none of the kooky stuff people told her be prepared for.

In the end, was PINK!      That's all that matters now!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat to bring with you when crossing border with K-1

Dont know how many others have run into that problem, but my gal had the xray cd included in her envelope but when She went to take her exam here in the states ( by the immigration physician which is required)...they could not open the cd under ANY format......so long story short, we had to go to a clinic here to get another chest xray ( $50.00).

So the xray cd is not a big deal, you can get another here.               The required exam your fiance will need here gives another TB test.   My gal had a minimal positive reaction which required the them to see the xray report on the cd, but without them being able to open it, we had to get the other xray and diagnosis.......in the end, we still passed...totol cost here was about $300.  There was no xray photo needed just the cd and the physicians report.

We ran into a problem when SAN FRAN immigration did not issue her a documentation of entry ( not really sure what it was called  ( I think its a I94 record # upon her entry...they didn't give her one so if they dont give yours one, then She needs to ask for it or she will not be able to apply for a SS# later.)  (Big BIG hassel!!!)   have her ask for it...that's about all she'll need other than what you already knew about.

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?

To those who filed k-1, what is the average age difference of a fiance to a fiancee? Is it a matter of desperation for such young girls to marry old guys? Is it for love or money?

I don't know the averqe but I am 75 and filed for a K3 in July. My spouse was turned down for K1,,,,,i don't know why. My wife to be will turn 31 this December 30th. Never been married and no children. Why she loves me is primrily a cultural thing rather than a gold-digger one. I was married to my first wife for 50 years before she had a heart attack so I am not in it for the sexual aspect or a marriage. Age is golden in the Philippines.

You cannot do the K-1 as it is for unmarried couples, planning a marriage in the US.

So K-3 or IR-1/CR-1 are your only options

Other then that I cannot be much help.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionBank Letters
I actually did this today!

I went to the bank first thing in the morning (waited 10 minutes for them to open!) and went to the "customer Service" area.

The person that helped me provided me with a letter stating total amount deposited in 2005 AND YTD 2006, also he included my current available balance and the date the account was open.

He also printed out my most recent statement and made a deposit for me! :)

The deposit was included in the available balance. I think it took about a half hour for him to do all that.

He also included his contact info!

I have another bank to do this with tomorrow though and I'm a bit nervous about that one! :o

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresmarriageability certificate
Are you applying for a K-1 Visa, cause this is posted in the K-3 Visa area which means your already married.
I know the K-1 Visa requires proof of a relationship and have met within the last two years, but we didn't need a certificate of marriageablilty..

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresmarriageability certificate
I don't quit understand your question? Do you mean a marriage certificate? I don't see any timeline or any information on your case, so have you started the K-1 Visa process. If so, you both go to your local city hall and apply for a marriage license, here in Pima County all you do is take valid proof of age requirement, and sign a paper saying you don't have any sexually transmitted diseases , your not marrying a family member and pay $50. They crank out your marriage liscene which you take to your ceremony and have two witnesses sign as well as the judge or minister. Then you go back to City Court get a certified copy , which means it's noterized by a state employee, and pay another fee per copy of certified lisense.

Good luck and I hope this information helps.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCanadian need HELP !!!!
Just my advice, but it sounds like you should come to the states as a Visitor for 6 months and then work on the K-3 or K-1 from here. The K-1 will take you at least 9-10 months to get. This will only allow you to come into the US to get married, and then do Adjustment of Status which will allow you to get a permanent resident card.
It depends on the situation, but there are alot of us that have had problems going back and forth to Canada once the paper work is in.
The K-3 is filed after you are married and I am sure they will require you to leave the country while it is being processed.
Good Luck,
Everyone's situation is different.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestion about choices
We choose the K-1 route knowing at the time it was easier (LOL) than any other route, and of course as we were going through it, it seemed a tough route to take, especially when Anton was denied entry in Jan 05 at the border. In the long run it all turned out, Anton now has his green card and most of it wasn't too bad in hindsight after reading many other's accounts.
Canada is not to far away like your fiance's country, so it's much easier to visit and cheaper too.

Good luck and success..

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHousehusbands and the K1 visa?
Hi Tigre,
I don't think the US government will care what occupation your fiance' has. They are really only concerned that you the sponsor have income coming in and can support the one immigrating. The affidavit of support can really get you stressed I know. I have been there. Basically it is being signed by you, stating that you will pay back any accrued cost's if your "fiance/husband uses Welfare" and you will be responsible for his well being.
He can be a house husband if so choosing.
My hubby enjoyed being house husband until few months ago when he recieved his EAD.. They didn't even care what his occupation was at our interview, they were only concerned that I had the jobs I claimed to have.

good Luck,

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 help
We applied for the K-1 in 04/05. I don't know if the rules have changed since then, but I think your bank statement stating when account opened and current balance should be enough. They just want proof that you have sufficient funds to support your spouse and that you qualify with 125% above the poverty level.
I remember writing specfic things I would support my future husband with such as food/clothing,shelter, medical support. ect.
Again, they want to make sure the beneficiary will not be living of US funds while in the country under the Visa and AOS...
good luck,

In this case, I'd suggest you contact a good immigation attorney for a consultation. You can usually do this inexpensively by calling the "Layers Referral Service" and securing an initial consultation for a very low fee. Last time I checked it was around $30.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestion about Thailand and the I-134 or the I-864
Would such a supplemental request be like an RFE or would they ask for it up-front?
TucsonBillMaleThailand2006-08-01 20:01:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestion about Thailand and the I-134 or the I-864
I am looking ahead to the next step in this process and I need some input from some of the more senior members if possible.

As far as I can tell, I am going to need the I-864 for Thailand, maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong?

The only problem I can possibly see, is that I took unpaid leave of absence for most of 2005 and had almost no income for that year, (I had enough assets to afford to do this). My individual income for 2003 and 2004 averaged more than 4 times 125% of the 'poverty level' for 3 people and my income year to date is about 5 times that same figure.

I've also owned a home for over 20 years, (well, the mortgage company still owns part!), and have retirement accounts etc.

Logic tells me this is not going to be a problem at all and I'm just looking for something to worry about, but then I also wonder why they want 3 years worth of tax returns... and if in fact they will need an I-864 for Thailand. (Maybe I'm just a worry-wort!)
