My wife still in Acailandia, Maranhao. Brasil and we have sent FOUR differenct Atestados de Bons Antecedentes to the NVC, and we just got a letter from them saying that "they do not fulfill the necessary requirements"...so if anybody has delt with this situation before and could send me a copy of the certificate that they sent and the NVC accpeted it, we would reaaaalllyyyy appreciated... of course, please black out any confidential information, we just want to see what kind fo Police Certificate the NVC is looking for...I wrote back to the NVC asking for a sample of such certificate, but am sure they will not send it to me... I have asked them for a SAMPLE of the certificate they need, but of course...they have provided no help with that. The kids cannot complete processing unless the mother's application is approved...so the NVC will not forward their packets to the US Embassy piecemeal. NVC has been asking my wife for for several more documents (police certificates,birth certificate...)my question is: if NVC sends my daughter's and son's files to Rio de Janeiro embassy before they send my wife's...will they wait to give an interview date and/or continue with process until they get my wife's file? will they set the interview date until they have all three files in Rio? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Worth filing an expedition request?	I'm considering filing an expedition request with the NVC. Su and I (Matt) are both in Brazil. I've been here for about 18 months (it's too hard to be apart). I walked away from a career and a huge promotion to be with here - but I doubt that's considered a financial hardship as far as an expedition request. However, Su just got fired from her job, so neither of us is working at the moment, though she is looking for other jobs. I'm wondering if both of us being out of work might fulfill the 'financial hardship' qualifier for an expedition request. And - do we need to send documents to back up an expedition request, or will they actually consider it carefully just based on an e-mail? I asked an NVC rep about it over the phone and she was very wishy-washy ("You can do what you want, it might help."). I'm getting depressed about the whole thing. I feel like our case is in the doldrums. One of Su's friends had her interview scheduled for early January. We'd figured or hoped we'd have a December interview - but looks like that won't happen. I have a flight back on January 26th because I figured 'another 3 months will do it'; looks like the process has kicked me in the teeth again. I have job offers in the Austin area and I have people just waiting for me to arrive to get me into a position. Ugh...anyway. In my opinion...Take the job in US...you guys wont be apart for too long since you have done alot already...my wife and I have been apart for over a year now but almost done..now we just have to wait for an interview date. They are doing a CR-1 visa NOT a NON-Immigrant K-Visa, there is NO visa fee paid for a CR-1/IR-1 visa at the consulate. Thanks Daniel :-) I have read that some people paid $30-40 after their interview was done in the embassy in Rio, but my wife (lives in Brasil)read and/or was told by a friend that had an interview in Rio, that she paid like $300 dollars for her interview, but I think hers was for a K-1 visa, not a CR-1...so thats why am trying to find more information about it. It really has not sunk in yet to us but we are very happy and so glad we had all of you to walk with up to this point. We had no issues or problems and were actually completed by 10:30 am. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	How long till Vietnam Consulate receives documents from NVC?	Hang tight................I know how it used to be...it probably is still the same.     Even though your petition was mailed out to the respective consulate, doesn't actually mean it went directly to that consulate right away. I went through this process several years ago, and also wondered why it took so long. As it was explained to me by other VJ members at that time, was they wait until there is a multitude of petitions to send together as smaller things tend to get lost in overseas shipping, and also something to the effect that these foreign consulates work these in batch's, and therefore want to recieve them as such.   Whatever the reason, it just takes more patience. The hardest part is over. My best guess is after NVC sends it out, You probably are looking at 2-3 month wait for your fiance to get her interview, and visa within a day or 2 or3 after that. I did this 4 years ago, and doing it for the 2nd time now. The 1st time, I tried to reach a real person, and got no help. Tried again a month later, still got no help....tried again, and finally talked with someone who actually cared...at the very least, I gained some satisfaction as to knowing that at least i could check on the app. turns out the 3rd person informed me that the app. had actually been forwarded already...but I did not have to endure what you're going thru. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NOA1 timeline to NOA2	I've asked before, and did get someone to answer the question.....but forgive me, I'm a little slow. The estimated time between notifications is a little confusing.....for ex. CSC estimated time is 5 months.........is this 5 months from the time NOA1 was recieved?.....now it's under review...will this take the estimated 5 months until NOA2 is approved? . I read the graphs, and I still get confused. My NOA1 was recieved on October 30 2012.....is it hopeful that 5 months or thereabouts later that it will be sent, and then approved by NOA2? The charts say they are now processing July something...if thats how I read it, then my almost 3 months now looks like another 4 months wait?
