K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDid anyone besides me get toches last week and no NOA2?

I was hoping my NOA2 was on the mail, after last week's touch

Ya, I noticed that some people got touches and subsequently received their NOA2 in the mail, with no email confirmation. Tom did not get the email notification but it did show a change in status on the USCIS website, someone else got the letter with no status change showing on the website - so go figure :clock:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI think I made a big mistake when mailing back RFE
Well, for the record, I'm a convert to the Savage Nation from EIB and I expected to have my application approved within 30 days!

President Bush: If you are reading this, would you please take note and approve my I-129F today?

Thanks,

Your Bud,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much evidence is too much?

This is interesting. I ran my application by an immigration lawyer. He said the consensus among immigration lawyers is to bury them - send EVERYTHING.

I sent copies of boarding pass copies, passport/visa copies, receipts of currency conversion, etc. for 5 visits. I also included copies of over 400 emails and IM sessions, and copies of phone cards showing several hundred hours of calls over the last year. It took a Priority Mail BOX to send it all.

..snip for brevity..

Tom

Approved in less than 30 days

i recieved my rfe (imbra)it also ask for more proof of meeting.last time i sent pics ,copy of passport, atm reciepts, boarding pass and this rfe asks for these things again.want to know if this is normal with the imbra rfe and i guess i will send these things again!

Got RFE (not just for imbra)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much evidence is too much?
PS - Here's another RFE because 'not enough' was sent:

http://www.visajourn...showtopic=33055

I sent passport photos, ticket receipts, phtotographs and a receipt for the engagement ring - and I'm just hoping the person who reviews my case doesn't ask for more.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much evidence is too much?

I agree that you can definitely send TOO MUCH evidence. If you have really good primary evidence, and you do, then there is no need to fluff it. For sure I would send proof of all 4 trips, but all the info you have does not have to be sent. The passport stamps, boarding passes and photos should be fine. If you want to send 1 or 2 of the hotel receipts that should be great too - as it puts you in the same region as your fiancee, not just the same country and the photos also back this up.

I agree, too much is not good. (It has been said over & over on here.)

What moz said is good advice!

I think it depends on the person doing the interview. I've only been studying the Bangkok reports, but as far as I can tell there is one 'difficult' window there, but the vast majority go for their interview and asnwer 3 or 4 questions and are approved.

Regardless of what is 'said here' about not sending too much, I rely on the actual experiences of those who were told they did not have enough. I've not seen a single post where USCIS or the consulate rejected or delayed any application because too much evidence was supplied.

I wish I'd found this site before I sent in my application, and I would have sent in more just to be 'sure' I'd sent enough.

Until I see someone who says their appication was delayed or denied because they sent in too much evidence, I still say too much is way better than not enough. Err on the side of caution IMHO.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much evidence is too much?
I read a couple of posts recently, one case from China and one case from India where the visa was denied at the interview because of lack of evidence of a relationship. Details seemed a bit sketchy, and it seems odd that they would be denied at the interview after the evidence was accepted by USCIS.

On the other hand, I have never heard of anyone being denied because they sent too much. I think its better to send too much than to not send enough.

Just my two cents.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFINALLY SOMETHING!

Don't get too excited. An immigration officer told me today that my RFE receipt date is now my new NOA1 and will be processed according to that date! A little more detail below link.

http://www.visajourn...showtopic=34769

I've been watching things pretty closely lately, and many people who return their RFE's (non IMBRA), are getting approved within a day or two of CSC receiving the RFE back. Also, things seem to be moving alot faster now that the IMBRRA backlog is getting caught up.

Last but not least, my Fiance has a good job and gets a fat bonus if she works till the end of December, and then needs to give 30 days notice to train her replacement. Our wedding plans are not till February, so... all in all I'm pleased and not too worried :P

I Just didn't want to see my case sit there doing 'nothing' :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFINALLY SOMETHING!
On September 29, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 30 days have passed and you have not received the notice. Please contact the service center where you submitted your application during business hours.

I was expecting this - I KNEW I should have sent in more info!!

We'll - at least it shows they didn't forget about me - :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJuly NOA1's and Touches this week
I have a feeling that this 'consensus' that was appearantly reached that says 'dont send too much supporting evidence with your I129-F, save it for the interview' is incorrect. My guess is that those that got touches without approval means that not enough evidence was sent in - I guess we'll see how this all pans out soon. I wound up getting an RFE but I won't know for sure what they want until I get it. Being in Arizona, I'm hoping it will be in my mailbox on Monday.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWho else from March???
From just a quick look at the March NOA1's that are still outstanding, most have thier RFE's - of those that dont have thier RFE's - most of those have never posted to VJ at all - I go to find thier posts and the system says there are none. I think maybe 'active' should be re-defined to include those who have actually been participating in the forums. I could only find one other person that did not have thier RFE that is actually participating in the forums here.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTHIS IS ABSOLUTLY UNACCEPTABLE AND ABSURD!!!

Getting an RFE is not really a good thing cuz it delays the process from what I can tell from reading others timelines. I never got an RFE and they approved the I-130 petition. I just started the process in July. I had prayed and prayed that I would not get an RFE and I did not. So dont fret over not getting a RFE. o.k.
Lavon (F)

In E&K 's situation, an RFE because of IMBRA is mandatory, processing of thier case cannot proceed until they receive it and return it.

I've had it, I can't take it any more!

Look at E&K's Timeline!

May 1996: Met in Mexico
March 7th, 2006: Sent 129F to NSC
March 9th, 2006: NOA1
June 15th, 2006: Notice of transfer to CSC
June 20th, 2006: Last touch
I want my RFE!!!!!!!!!

March 7th and still no RFE ??? I have read some of this members post and I am SHOCKED! We all need to band together and do something - any suggestions what we could all band together and do?

TucsonBill,

A few of us are already working on ways to bring attention to profound problems within the current system USCIS is using. If you're interested, you can contact me about it via PM or email. Oddly, a lot of people say they want to do something, but then don't seem to really budge...

.. snip for brevity ..

Right now I am just trying to focus on E&K 's individual situation - maybe someone here has a good relationship with a senator or congressman that has been helpful and can ask them as a special favor to go an extra mile this one time and make an inquiry for someone outside of thier on constituency. I actually do have a pretty good relationship with Jim Kolbe, but he is retireing this year and everyone knows he's on his way out. I am still willing to try to call Kolbe's office on Monday, and if I can get someone there to do it, E&K would have to call them and fax them a release of information number. If we could have say 10 or 15 other members that would be willing to try to get thier congressman or senator to call on this case, maybe, just maybe, someone at USCIS would sit up and take notice and put this case on the fast-track.

As some of you know, I do a timeline list for the CSC/NSC/TSC. I am doing this weeks list right now. I started going a little more in depth with the ones that haven't gotten their NOA2's yet and I see something that I need your help on.
I have found no less than 30 active people that have gotten their NOA2's but haven't updated their timelines!
PLEASE PEOPLE, WHEN YOUR NOA2's COME UPDATE YOUR TIMELINE!!!
Your information goes into a database that creates statistics that we all use. If you don't update it throws everything off.
Thanks!
