K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy RFE - Wants more evidence
Tom sent a priority mail BOX of evidence of meeting in person and got approval in less than 30 days, here is what I sent:

copies of my airline tickets, receipts and itenerarry
copies of my hotel receipts
copies of my luggage tags
copies of my boarding passes
copies of my receipt for the engagement ring
copies of my passport with Thailand stamps
4 photos of us together

All this was sent for 2 trips I made to Thailand in April and July of 2006

The RFE specifically requests copies of bank statements or credit card statements showing withdrawals and purchases made in Thailand that include my name, location and full date.

I don't care what anyone says MORE EVIDENCE IS BETTER, THE MORE THE BETTER!

Maybe some of you have been approved with less than what I sent, and maybe it depends on who the person who is assigned to your case, maybe other factors play a role, but I am convinced beyond doubt that to send 'too much' is way better than not to send enough!

I will be posting this to the RFE thread also.

They also want more details on how we actually met.

Bill

PS I AM THRILLD THAT THIS IS ALL THEY NEED :D (unless I get another RFE  )

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAswering the RFE's feelings - Just a tip!
I just found out today, previous thread, that people who received their NOA2 in early late August / early September are STILL waiting for thier packets to be forwarded to NVC - so don't get too excited about the NOA2 I guess either :(

I'm still waiting for them to aknowledge receipt of my RFE too...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI think I made a BIG MISTAKE when I mailed my I-129F!
What? You're supposed to write that on the envelope? LOL - I never even knew! (Of course, as many of you already know, I sent in my application before I found this site, and got most of my advice off other websites I found).

I think you should be OK, in my case, ignorance was bliss :P

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswaiting 4 approvel

Hi there, I just got this following message update on october 4

On October 4, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

and I had 5 touches already after that, but still no decision yet? is anybody on the same boat here, did anybody get this same message, I was wondring when I would get written decision, just keep crossed my finger, I am really geting inpatiton with their process and little worried to get stuck after approvel as other people posted on this site.

I am close to you timeline wise, and I have not even received confirmation of my RFE being received yet. I hope all the touches mean that you will be getting approval soon, so when they finish yours, they can work on mine :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE question

I have more primary evidence of our relationship because I visited Clara last month again, should I include that in our RFE (which only requests my Belgian Birth Certificate). ?

Secondly, because it takes like a week for post to arrive overseas, would high quality color copies be fine, with a statement its truthful ? How about the letter for the translation? The signature of the translator would be a copy. Is that a problem?

1. In the case of an RFE I would not include any infornation they do not request. An RFE presumes they have already finished processing of your petition and have requested only infomation that was lacking or insufficient.

2. If I understnad the insructions correctly, they say that you should not send original documents but should have the original documents available upon request. I did not send any original documents.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew Here I-129F Question
If you just say that you met 'online' - expect an RFE like me, USCIS wants to know specifically where online you met, what chat room, was it an online dateing service etc. If it was an online dating serivce, then you need to check to see if it would be considered an "International Marriage Broker". In my case, I do not think IMBRA applied in my case, I wound up writing an explanation as to why, and including the contact information for the website in case the adjuticator thought otherwise.

I'm in the same boat. Today makes one week and no confirmation of receipt of my RFE. I sent it USPS express and waived the signature. Yodrak commented that Sept 30 was the end of the fiscal year for the government. It looks to me like there was a big year end push, and now they're all slacking again :P

Yodrak,

I'm confused, does this mean I have to wait till next September for my NOA2 now????

A lot of NOA2 approvals have not meant much, since there are a ton of people with ther NOA2 about 30 days old, that have not been forarded to NVC. I was hoping that I would at LEAST get aknowlegement of receipt of my RFE from CSC but I did not even get that... yet. (The day isn't over).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow soon after NOA2 approval to send I-134 to fiancee?

advice appreciated.

I would send it as soon as possible, together with the required documents for the I-134, i. e. tax return, letter from employer, pay stubs etc.

Since the info is fairly easy for me to get, I plan to wait until NVC forwards the file to the Embassy, as that seems to be taking a long time these days. That way the info will be more 'current'. I don't know how 'current' the embassy expects the information to be, but I figure I'd just play it safe.

Doesn't anyone else realize that Matako is Majizee?

DON'T FEED THE TROLL!!!!

kitkat! I totally thought that too!!! Majizee's posts were very similar to these posts! Isnt there some way to see if a poster has changed thier screen name? Anyway, I really hope that it IS the same person, because both Matako and Majizee have beneficiaries from Ukraine, and I dont want them giving the rest of us a bad name!
Matako, I wish you a long wait in security checks and AR at the NVC.

I think the admin of this board should check the range of IP address these 'two people' connect from, and if in fact it's the same person, block them in the firewall :P Better yet, if he is just some zit faced geeky teenager, report him to the ISP and let his parents deal with him, (in addition to the block).

Bill

It's not a double account, she just changed her screen name, which you can do as well.

I outed her here: http://www.visajourn...h...c=35500&hl=
and I thought she'd given up. Guess not.

Well, trolls are trolls, that's what they do, because they have no lives. You can rest assured that IT trolls other sites when it's not trolling here, and probably already has several complaints to its ISP. If the ISP gets enough complaints, they'll terminate its internet service.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC ever lose anyones RFE reply?

Hi Bill,

Glad to hear that CSC did receive your RFE, we are also waiting for their acknowledgment of ours -we sent it back on Wednesday and USPS confirmed its receipt on Thursday by CSC, but nothing official from them yet.

Also, I don't think you should put too much attention to the timelines right now. I think IMBRA messed them up a lot- including RFE processing times since USCIS had to send out so many; and they won't be quite accurate until all of us early filers are out.

BTW this is what ours say :P

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as June 20, 2006*"

Hope you get your NOA2 soon!!

What I did was call the main USCIS 800 number and selected the option that I had received an RFE and had a question about it, and instead of getting the usual gerneral info person, I actually got transferred to someone at the CSC - you might try doing the same thing. Someone else recently received thier NOA2 and never even got a 'touch' since returning their RFE.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC ever lose anyones RFE reply?
"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as November 6, 2006* (this includes an estimated 10 day delay for your RFE)."

That is a quote from my timeline in Visa Journey, but I think the delay of an RFE is much longer if I figure how long it took for them to actually send the RFE, me to receive it, reply, aknowledge receipt and then to actually start working on my case again...

I don't understand why the timelines track RFE's but you can't do an advanced timeline search regarding RFE's to get a more accurate estimate of how long an RFE actually delays your case. I think the 10 days is WAY understated. It's probably more like a 30 day delay.

So many petitions were approved around the same time, and instead of NOA2 on the 29th, I got an RFE. I estimate the delay of an RFE to be closer to 30 days, and that is only if they accept my RFE reply and actually approve my case before October 29th, which at this point, is questionable.

Bill

PS I'm still wonderig if anyone has ever tried to send a copy of the RFE in to CSC when a reply has been lost. The instructions say to attach that blue paper to the TOP of your reply, and I have a scanned copy of that. Has anyone ever tried this?

It's been over a week and CSC has not confirmed receipt of my RFE reply which was sent with deliverly confirmation. I made a color scan of every page of my RFE and I am wondering if I do not receive confirmation by the end of the week, if I can print a copy from my scans and resend it.

Bill

Did you request delivery confirmation via the USPS or whomever you used to submit it?

Yes, as stated in my question and in my signature timeline, it was sent with delivery confirmation, USPS has confirmed delivery, but USCIS has not confirmed recept, and it's been over a week.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIf you have not received RFE receipt confirmation...
I called the main number for the USCIS, assuming I would get some kind of non-answer, but I selected, from the telephone menu, something like "If you have received a Reqest for Evidence and have a qustion about it" and I got an actual person directly at the CSC, (whether by design or by accident, I'm not sure). They confirmed receipt of my RFE reply, and even seemed knowledgable about some other questions I had.

I never received email confirmation of the RFE reply receipt. Someone else today received thier NOA2 and had never received any email confirmation of approval either.

So, if you call and select that option from the telephone menu, you might discover that they have in fact received your RFE, but failed to send out confirmation.

Just FYI,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F petition for K-1

I didnt include any thing about her other than what was asked on the G325 form. I was approved in September without getting an RFE for her BC. I think I saw somewhere on another thread that the requirements changed, and now a copy of beneficiaries BC is required? Anybody confirm that?
Anyway, I hope you get through it soon. Good luck!

I filled out my I129F before I found this forum, and used a different guide listing what I should send, and that list included a copy of the, (translated if necessary), birth certificate. I suspect that in many cases, depending on the country your fiance is comming from and / or the preference of the adjudicator, birth certificates are requested. As it turned out the guide I used was also not complete as I got and RFE for the exact details of how my fiance and I 'met online' as well as copies of my bank and credit card statements from my visits to Thailand, (showing purchases and or cash withdrawals made in Thailand).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice Needed Please
I am curious,

Has anyone here on VJ ever actually had an appliation 'declined' when the had professional wedding photos taken before they were married, (this is not uncommon), or because they had an unnoffical ceremony before the legal wedding in the USA, or is this all just 'speculation' ?

I was honest and I flat out told them in my RFE reply that we had wedding photos made in advance of the wedding as is customary, and tha we planned on having a ceremony in Thailand before the legal marriage in the USA.

When I sent in my answer regarding my RFE, (copies of my bank statement and credit card statement from the month of my most recent trip to Bangkok), I itemized the purchases including one at the "Wedding Plaza" where we had wedding photos taken, as it is customary to display these the at the cerimony. I explained the situation and told USCIS that we planned to have a cerimony only in Thailand and have the legal wedding here in the US. I cannot imagine that being a problem, or that such an arrangement is out of the ordinary, but we'll see soon I suppose.

At the risk of sounding too much like a newby, can someone tell me what a touch is? I see the reference here but don't know what it is...

When you log on to the USCIS website and check your portfilio, there is a column that says 'last updated', if that date changes, but there is no official change in status, that is a touch. It just means someone pulled up your case file to review it, but no action has been taken. To get the actual status, click on your case number on that screen.
