CanadaFellow Canadian VJers removing Conditions..

I got the original NOA1 in August, but haven't heard anything since. I think I should hear something any day now, they are working on August cases.

I actually have a temporary greencard stamp on my passport. We were worried I would have to travel for work or we would have trouble on our cruise back in December, so hubby made me make an InfoPass and the guy gave me the stamp so I'm okay until October. I think the letter would've worked fine though and we were overly cautious.

Hopefully things will speed up for you all! I definitely did not think this would take 10 months!

Thanks Sapphire! What are our other options in case the GC does not come in time? Are we allowed to get another renewal?

Peachey -- you will get a letter right away, if your package went through. Sent mine via USPS with tracking and got the delivery receipt. Two days letter, I got the NOA-1.

Sapphire -- have you gotten notice about your extension? If you were preggy, you would be a month overdue!!! Are you planning on getting another renewal? How does that work? LOL, sorry for all my questions!

BTW anyone who has questions about cruising with an expired GC - I put up my experience in working/traveling during immigration.

CanadaFellow Canadian VJers removing Conditions..
Hi guys! Just dropping in to see who are removing conditions with me!

We sent our application on December 13 - received the USCIS receipt and had our check cashed. It seems like VCS takes 6-8 months to process the paperwork. I'm unsure if I should make travel plans at this point - hubby and I were thinking of going on a cruise in May. Has anyone ever traveled and was allowed back in the US with just that NOA receipt?

We too did not include any friend/family affidavits in our application, just all our legal stuff: accounts, mortgage, insurance, bills and an album of ALL our pictures together :)

A coworker of mine filed for a ROC back in May and has not heard any decision yet. She did postpone her biometrics, so that may be a reason for the delay. Anyway, according to her, the NOA-1 is incredibly important. She lost hers (but manage to make a photocopy so she does have a copy). Apparently the USCIS local offices cannot reprint another NOA-1 unless you surrender your expired green card, which they discourage you from doing. So do not lose your NOA-1!

BTW, should I renew my EAD in case my new green card does not arrive in time? (even if the NOA-1 states I can work for another year after my card expires)

Thanks! :)

I just love the fact that when I called up Lowes to get a quote for custom made sliding mirror doors (naturally, none of our door frames are regular size bec this house is over 100 years old...), I get a 10 minute scolding about asking these questions over the phone... when I just wanted to get an idea of how much things cost and do not intend to buy doors over the phone.

When we were babies, my mom washed us on her bed :P She basically laid a water-proof mat on the bed and had a small basin and either towel washed us or put us in the basin for a full washing. Not sure why :P

Hubby has health insurance, but for some reason they don't have me on it. Trying to get that straightened out, but guessing that won't happen before my dr's appointment. Anyway, am already pregnant, so have a 'pre-existing' condition and no private insurance will cover me for that now.

I keep forgetting about the friends thing on here! Thanks for the add!

Are you serious? What kind of a retarded rule is that? Like, since when is having a baby like cancer??? GAH. Goodluck with finding a reasonable doctor who would be more interested in doing his job as a doctor than ripping you off :(

I definitely want at least 2, although I always tell the hubby that Im excited for our 12 children just to see him go pale®. Hubby thinks that 3 is a good number but that is completely dependent on our financial situation.

I dododododododododododododododododododododododo want a girl though :P I am sure that I will love my future clone with all my heart and might, regardless of its gender. But just imagine all the girly stuff we can do together :D

Valerie: Ive read that the pickle craving is because of mineral/vitamin deficiency. When pregnant women crave pickles its because they are lacking something in their nutrition.

CanadaGot Baby? Avez vous un bebe?

I can vouch that it is absolutely true. Once that little body emerges into the world, life as you know it ends. They are completely.... and I mean completely..... dependent on you for everything. Your life is no longer yours.... it is theirs. Sick and want to lie down? Too bad. Want to go visiting? Major planning and lugging of supplies.... don't forget to time it between naps! Need a break?..... need to invest time and money into finding a responsible person you feel comfortable with, then write a procedure manual and train them.

I completely agree Krikit! When the hubby and I talk about kids, he will always say, "that baby never wanted to be born yet we're forcing him/her to this world, so I dont want us to have kids until we can be as ready as we can be". Of course, as already mentioned, one will never really be ready...

And I agree with what Sprailenes said -- if you dont want to have kids or cant see yourself having kids, you shouldnt have one... even as a "concession". Not every female person is meant to be a mother and it is a lifetime responsibility to have one. I know because Im 25 and I still run to my mom for problems :P

Reven: All mums and mums-to-be are prolly like that! So dont be too hard on yourself!

As for leaving a child behind... I think its fairly possible for someone to do that especially when youre so frazzled with work and not sleeping and having to do all these things. I guess one of my biggest future concerns is leaving a baby in the car... *shudder* Cause you know, it can always happen.
darkchilde794FemaleCanada2010-01-14 13:44:00
CanadaGot Baby? Avez vous un bebe?
Hubby and I are gonna wait another 4 years or so to have little ones. Purely selfish reasons too -- we want to really enjoy our "married" life together right now. When we were dating, we were both in school and didnt have the money to travel and do "luxurious" things, and we know when we have kids, we cant do that either. So we want to spend the next few years saving, working on our "individual" selves, traveling, etc. :P

I also want to be able to save for a baby before we have one... the price of diapers is excruciatingly high :P My biggest fear is to enter motherhood and not at least be financially prepared for it, and not be able to provide for my little clones (not toys or luxury things but basics like food and shelter).

However, I think no matter how much one prepares, one prolly can never be ready for motherhood. At least what the woman who does my hair tells me :P So for the mums and mums-to-be out there, do you feel that's true?

CanadaPassed my interview. How long for the passport to come?

Although it was a while ago when I was in that stage of the process, it took less than a week to get my passport back. But I did bring a pre-paid Canada Post Express delivery envelope with me to the interview for them to mail it back to me in. I am not sure if that can still do it that way, but if they can it will definitely help expedite the process.

CanadaVisitor's Pass for Americans visiting Canada?

That is correct, there is no visa required to 'visit' between the two countries although that doesn't mean that someone would be admitted.

Who asked her these questions, was it the American CBP or Canadian board agents?

If I understand you, she is the USC and was re-entering the US? Did she use a passport? Maybe he was inquiring if she had a Nexus card?

I have an unusual question about EI benifits. I am current on maternity leave which will expire by Jan 28th 2008 and I will have used all my 52 weeks.
Since I will be entering the US in the next week or so and not returning to work, would I still qualify for EI benefits?

QUOTE (Spiderette @ Jan 6 2008, 10:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
No, you do not need to apply for removal of conditions yet.
You'll be issued a Green Card when you arrive in the US and if that GC is conditional (2 years) you will apply to remove conditions 90 days before it expires... (so you're looking at about 2 years down the line...) your journey has really only began

Thank You, smile.gif
I was thinking of anniversary in the traditional sense not from a green card issuance. Thank God we have some time to unwind before entering another process.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAnother Hurdle??
Hi everyone,

As you can see from my signature our visa process has been long and trying but we have finally reached the end.
I am expecting my visa/passport any day now and will probably be in the US by the end of the week.

We were married on April 21 2006, so if my math is correct we will need to apply for the removal of conditions between Jan 21st and April 21st. From the guild lines, it looks like I will need to submit a copy of my green card with that form- but what if I do not receive it by then? This has really got me worried given that in the past, we have has so much go wrong.

As far as proof of our relationship, we have a child together but I will not have established residency there for long enough to have much else other than perhaps being added to my husbands bank account. But there are more than enough people that would be willing able to submit an affidavit that our marriage is legitimate.

Any help will be appreciated.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionShould I be worried?

At this point, October CSC filer's approved percentage is 59%.
So, you don't have to warry, you are not the last one at least!!

Are you sure you check online status with your Application number on your Biometrics appointment letter?
If so, you can find your case at least and it would say "Initial Review" after biometrics.

Hi- I was using the wrong WAC. I used the one issued with the receipt because it said that one should accompany all inquiries. Good news though- then I used the correct one- it said as of yesterday they ordered my card production. Woot Woot.

Now she checked online status with Application number on Bio letter and she could find her case.
And she was approved!!! Congrats!!!
I'm glad I could help you about this :)

Yes- thank you so much. You helped make my day and saved me hours of trying to get an agent from USCIS.

same here am not oct filler but I filled NOV
and I didnt get a touch or anything not even after bio wich was 21rst of dec ,
I was in Initial Review before the bio apoitment
but am not worried as so many here told me with ROC it works a little diferant then AOS or K1 ,
Roc many dont get touched at all till aproval

I heard that as well.
But I am happy to say I have been approved and the card had been ordered.

Hang on to your horses. USCIS works in mysterious ways. (In other words, you're fine.)

There is some people still waiting for their approval.

About online status, what do you mean "nothing comes up"?
You can't find your case? Did you use your case number on your Bio letter?
Or just it says "Initial Review"? if so, don't worry, it's normal thing :)

Hi yes- I filled in Oct and am a CSC filer. I noticed there were some people who had their bio metrics after me who already have their green card. When I enter the WAC number it says nothing can be found.

The ASC WAC # is the number the ASC reported/forwarded your biometrics on....

Thank you again. Is it normal that they are different or was their a mistake made? But in the end- the ASC number results are much more to my liking than the receipt WAC #. I can't wait to get my 10 GG then move on to naturalization.

Thank You. I am confused though because on the receipt notice it says that the above WAC/receipt number must accompany all inquiries.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat WAC number should I be using?
I noticed that the WAC number on my I-175 receipt notice is different from the WAC number on my ASC appointment notice. When I enter the number on the receipt it says my case can not be found at this time and to check the number or call the USCIS. When I enter the other number- it says Oath Ceremony or Document Production although I have not received a letter saying my case was approved and my green card is scheduled for production.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA1 Not received after 30 days. File Missing?

When my husband first sent in our immigration paperwork, we did not get our NOA1. He called the USCIS hotline and all they could tell them at the call center is that the documents were received. Finally after 3 months we were informed that my husband accidently dent them our copies of the application without the original signatures and that everything was being sent back and we needed to resubmit the documents.

Unfortunately failing to send all the required information in or making mistake such as my husbands can cause some long delays.

ETA. I also don't know how your attorney missed this. You are paying him him/her good money to make this a smooth process.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThis is really so sad!

That's a stretch.  It's a government process, which means it's slow to react, but that's not nearly the same as "corrupted."

I would argue that when they purposely pull new petitions out of the pile and process them prior to those that have been lagging for 6 months or more, so statistically they can manipulate the data to make it look like the processing time is almost cut in half, I would call that corrupt.
