IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 MARCH 2013 FILERS!! NBC
Filed from Canada on March 8th.
NOA1 received on Mar 12. File seems to be at NBC (file # starts with MSC which apparently is the same as NBC)
Still waiting for NOA2.

Looks like some people are getting approved in under 40 days. I wonder if approval times are still that quick.

Fingers crossed.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - December 2013

Hi Everyone!

We'll be having our interview out of Montreal and have opted in for Electronic Processing.

I sent my OPTIN email about 2 weeks ago to NVCElectronic@state.gov.

Still no response from them (except the auto response) ...

Is this normal?  I'm thinking we should have gotten some type of confirmation by now.

Just curious about other people's experience with OPTIN emails.

At this point all of our information is compiled/forms completed.  We're just waiting to be accepted for Electronic Processing.  ClockWatch2.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - November 2013

Hi Guys!  I'm wondering if someone can let me know what to expect next.

I swear I've read through every guide but am still a bit fuzzy on this. blush.png

We'll be going through Montreal so are electronically filing.

We've successfully paid our AOS (i.e. in PAID status) and have submitted our DS-261.

Should we expect an email from NVC requesting the I-864 OR should I just email the AOS package (I-864 and supporting documents) now instead of waiting?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - November 2013

Hello everybody,

our NOA2 is dated Oct 30th I just called NVC - they have not received out case yet ClockWatch2.gif

Anyone of you with MSCxx # (field offices) NOA2s from the end of Oct have been assigned the IIN number already?

Thanks and good luck to you all.

We were from MSC and had our I-130 approved in early November.

NVC has assigned info to us and we've begun the payment process.

USCIS says it can take up to 30 days for the file to reach NVC and another 8 weeks (I think) to be scanned in at NVC.

I'd keep calling them.  There doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason as to the timelines with this stuff ...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - November 2013

I gave the NCV a ring today and was actually given a case number!  I asked the operator for my IIN and she said it wasn't generated.

I plan on calling tomorrow but what are folks' thoughts on this?  Do you think the IIN is already created and operator just didn't want to disclose?

Either way I think (actually just hope) it's coming soon.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - November 2013

My NOA2 took two weeks to get to the NVC and I was able to get my case no. over the phone along with giving my email address at the same time.

That's encouraging!  The NVC folks tell you up to 8 weeks ...

I have an hour long drive home every night. This means I have all the time in the world to check in with NVC daily. dancin5hr.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - November 2013

Call NVC and gave them your emails address

Can you do this until they've assigned you a NVC case #?

Am I correct in thinking that they wont have a record of your case until that file hits their system (i.e. scanned in)?

From my phone calls to them over the past few days they are unaware of your USCIS case # until you've been delivered and scanned in.

Also ... how long are folks seeing it take between NOA2 to NVC receiving?  I'm thinking it could be a few weeks ...

Does anyone know what the NVC response time is for folks who have opted in for EP and sent this supporting docs via email? The operators at NVC say it'll take max 30 business days to respond to files received electronically. My confirmation email from NVC says 20 business days.

Any ideas on which is correct?

Saylin since you interviewed at the Consulate in Montreal I was wondering if you knew if I would be able to accompany my wife to her visa interview?

The Montreal Consulate General site states that only interpreters are allowed and relatives will have to wait outside the waiting room.

Wondering if this is really true ...

Blueberry, BIG HUGS to you, girl!  You're gonna see hubby soon, right?  And after that, the wait will hopefully be shorter than what you've waited so far.  Once you get NOA2, the process will speed up!  I hope you get something soon!  Do you know if yours has been sent to another center?  Maybe you should have your hubby contact his Senator...especially since you're not getting answers about the new center.  I haven't kept up with that news because I've been too busy with NVC and the current requirements (plus work, life, baby, etc...)  Anyway, I'm seriously hoping/crossing fingers and praying for you!!!!!

YAY!!!!  I am super happy for you!!!  That was really fast!  So yours was originally in Overland Park and now this one is MO?  That's good news for all the people who are here waiting.  Hopefully they are transferring.  Congrats though!  You should come join us on the NVC page now.  That's your next step.  I hate to say it but NVC is also really slow right now.  It takes about 3 weeks to get your case number from the date of your NOA2....and then it takes a couple of weeks for them to bill you for IV and AOS.  Then another 30 (business) days to review your package and make it a case complete (assuming you have no errors that need fixing, which means that you should add another 30 days for each error.)  Then whatever time it takes your embassy...so far, we're almost at 2 months since NOA2 and waiting for a case complete, HOPEFULLY before Thanksgiving.  And hoping for an interview in December, but realistically, it will probably be January.  Crossing fingers as that would be about 3 or 4 months from NOA2 to an interview.  (Hope that isn't disappointing, but just giving you what is happening.)  Come join us in the NVC thread!  smile.png  Here it is:  http://www.visajourn...-november-2013/

I get the feeling that NVC is slow due to other folks' timelines.  Doesn't mean I can't call NVC every day on my way home from work. good.gif

Congratulations!! smile.png would like to know though, is it DCF or expedited? Thanks

Definitely not DCF.

Honestly, I don't know how things shook out but I did request an expedite.  I also called one of my Senators' office and spoke with his immigration's case worker.  I don't think the expedite took as it was only 1 week between expedite request and NOA2.

However, in a letter from my Senator I received the other day it said he contacted USCIS the same day that I received NOA2 notice via email.  So I'm guessing it was his office's inquiry that moved things along.

We got our hardcopy of NOA2 today.

It came from Lee Summit, MO.

Our NOA1 was from Overland Park, KS.

I never saw a transfer of processing centers so I don't know why they came from different places ...

We received our NOA2 a few days ago via email.  Not sure if it matters, but I'm a USC filing from abroad.

We haven't received our paper form via snail mail just yet so I'm not sure if it came from KS or MO.  Our NOA1 came from KS.

I'll be sure to post more once I have it.

Do any September filers are both out of country ?? or does anyone knows if the process changes when that is the case ??  as far as NOA 2's seems like we are pretty much in for a long long run for what I understand KS has not approved his first yet, right ??   Oh Boy !! sad.png  sad.png

We're both living outside of the US working together and filed in September.  We got our NOA1 a week and a half ago and our application is at Overland Park.

I haven't heard of any I-130 approvals out of Overland just yet ...

I'll be sure to keep you posted. smile.png   It took FOREVER (IMHO) to receive the hard copy.  Perhaps it's because we're abroad (i.e. Canada).

Yay!

Oops! I'm sure by the time we get a NOA2 I will have obsessed over the name Overland so many times I will never forget it or confuse it with Oakland ever again. rolleyes.gif

Slightly random question.idea9dv.gif

I've read that if you as the USC apply from abroad your case isn't transferred to a local office and stays with NBC for the entirety of your I-130 processing.

Is this true?  If so is anyone in the same boat?  We still haven't received our NOA1 paper copy (got an electronic notice) and noticed that there is no local office (Missouri/KS) listed on the USCIS website when we check out case status.

Perhaps this is why?

Gosh, so. many. questions.

soulfulsplashFemaleCanada2013-09-30 13:30:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2013 I-130 Filers

A question that we have since we're at the beginning of this process is around processing times (the beginning to end process).

Based on experience and what you all have observed on this forum do processing times differ based on the location of the applicant and beneficiary?

My spouse (beneficiary) and I are both living and working in Canada.  Would the process and timing differ from that of an applicant and beneficiary living in the US or apart abroad?

My question is prompted by reading about the Consular process for handing applications.  This process seems to be at the discretion of the Consulate that applies to the applicant/beneficary.  Is this correct or completly off? rolleyes.gif

LIke everyone else I have a boat load of questions.  Just a bit curious about how the process varies based on location.

So excited just received my noa1 text finally. smile.png now to wait some more

Congrats!!

The feeling I'm getting is it takes 3-5 days after they receive it to email/text you.

Maybe a stupid question.

Obviously like everyone else I want an interview ASAP. Is calling everyday going to get me one any faster. I thought I read that they send an email within hours of scheduling your interview. What I'm getting at is if all I'm going to be doing by calling every day is drive myself crazy ... well you know. If I can get actually get an interview faster, I'll call twice a day !

This is getting more stressful now. I have movers moving me out of my place in Toronto end of June, everything going into storage until I have the visa. Going to have to sit out the last little bit in Winnipeg. At least I'll get a nice visit with my mom. Cutting over to my US job July 1 (fortunate that my company is letting me transfer) but will be staying on the Canadian payroll and doing it remotely from Canada until I can physically be in the US. My travel schedule between Canada and the US for work is constant so not knowing when the interview will be or when I will be without a passport is stressing me out.

I looked up the stats for CR1 for Canada and NOA2 to interview was 154 days. That can't be right ....

Okay ... happy thoughts :)

Saylin ... Happy (late) anniversary ! Glad you had an awesome day !

Congrats to everyone on their NVC completes and interview approvals. I don't post much but read everyone's progress frequently.

Saylin,

Just want to say that you are awesome for putting together all of this !

So, I just called NVC and learned that my case was received Apr.23. I was expecting to punch in a series of numbers to enter my CIS number per your instructions but once I pressed 1 for english it routed me through to an operator.

A quick question.

1) We're using an immigration lawyer. So, once I get my NVC Case number and IIN number I do not email opt in as the lawyer is already set up ... correct ?

CanadaFellow Canadian VJers removing Conditions..

yo peeps.

I filed in March.

I've been scarce around this place too, but travelling soon to Canada (first time since 2010 Nov)
Had the NOA and biometrics already. Do I bring that NOA letter with me?

I don't expect to get a new GC issued to me before my trip. So therefore I will have my current CAN passport, an expired permanent residence card, and a letter stating "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year."
I hope. Obviously it's the getting back into the US that's the trick. I'm not too worried but wondering if anyone else has traveled back to the US only with an expired GC and an NOA letter?

Regardless, I need me some cottage country. Bad.

What's up KnJ!?!? Hubby and I drove up to Toronto and back last month and got in AND out, no problem. Had my green card, letter and passport and border patrol dude did not even blink. Happy travelling!

Well I didn't even see this thread and have been blogging on the May filers.....back to the waiting game. We submitted the ROC I 751 May 14th, it was received in California May 16th and am still waiting for the NOA1...hauntingly familiar.

I'm hoping to get back to Canada in early August because it's been almost two years and will be by August. My card expires Aug 12th, although that was an error because I crossed over on the 13th but ....tis what it tis.

Soooo the beat goes on ....kind of discouraging to read that people getting approvals in June or July last year are still waiting for g/c ??? :wow:

As long as you kept your first NOA letter, you are good! I've traveled with it and had no problems at all. In fact, hubby and I are driving to TO on Wednesday and I think all will be fine. If not, you guys will hear from me on Wednesday!

Yeah, I think we can just book another InfoPass and get a stamp extension.

The letter extends one year from your greencard expiry though I believe, so my letter is technically good until November.

Thanks! We might all end up doing that so it is good to know.

CanadaFellow Canadian VJers removing Conditions..

I got the original NOA1 in August, but haven't heard anything since. I think I should hear something any day now, they are working on August cases.

I actually have a temporary greencard stamp on my passport. We were worried I would have to travel for work or we would have trouble on our cruise back in December, so hubby made me make an InfoPass and the guy gave me the stamp so I'm okay until October. I think the letter would've worked fine though and we were overly cautious.

Hopefully things will speed up for you all! I definitely did not think this would take 10 months!

Thanks Sapphire! What are our other options in case the GC does not come in time? Are we allowed to get another renewal?
