CanadaIR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview
Sounds like she might be K filer...just out of curiosity I called NVC's AVR to see what is would say about my case and to my surprise the message changed from 'Your case was completed on....Please allow up to 8 weeks for further instructions" to "Your case was completed and forwarded to consulate general in MTL on..." So I just checked DHL reference for that date and found out something interesting...whereas other consulates get 1lbs-2lbs packages, MTL gets packages that are 5-6lbs almost on a daily basis...that kinda shows that they do keep themselves busy...

You would think they would clarify if they wanted cover sheets or not.

Mal, that was a good idea to have them look again before sending more docs. They gave me 2 RFE and I called to talk to supervisor after the second one, because it was concerning an issue that they could've included in the first one...it was clear that they have a step-by-step guide they follow and do not move on to the next step before they OK'ed previous checks. On the good note though, my case never ended up in that 2-3 day long process of final review. The moment they received the info case was completed.

Plus you can call Dr. Seiden's office with any questions and they will (eventually) get back to you. My wife spoke to a really, really, really nice young woman there yesterday about antibody titers/vaccinations.

Hey Steve, did you schedule your medical yet?

The letter medical is updated to July 2009 - It gives you a full list of vaccinations required which were not on the old list that is on file in the guides section. The format is also different, probably not a big thing for those of you just coasting by but I've been hawking and reading over and over so its a change to me. =P

@I<3NVC =D We received our letter today, dated September 8, 2009. No e-mail, I checked the spam box too.

I imagine anyone living further west of us might get it this week! My fingers are crossed for you Igg. =)

The general vaccination info is very confusing because it lists all the possible shots they could think of. Better info is on Dr Seidens website, take a look
http://panelphysicia.../Pages/Age6.htm

Requirements vary depending on age/gender and this table is much easier to read than that general info.

Btw, my appointment letter is dated Sept 10...and I also received an email with it that day.

I was suprized that they left three weeks in-between lol i was expecting 2 months! But i'm happy! I was getting worried.

Guess we'll see you there Sierratango!

Great news Avery! How have they changed the medical stuff?

I called today to book my medical and it did not seem that anything had changed...bring appointment letter, 3 photos, passport, vacc record, and money-cash or money order...

Hey all,

I don't post here really but I do look at things. Well, today my wife and I's case is complete! WE did the 130 for a CR1. Unfortunately it's going to Montreal, and I understand they are slow, that, with the natural time of waiting, what are we looking at....April...May? until her interview? Thanks.

Well, since cases completed at the end of June, you're looking at 5 months out from that date. So, if they don't catch up in Montreal, I would guess your interview will be mid-May. You never know, though, because we can't always figure out how Montreal schedules. Good luck!

I feel bad for those of you still waiting. Looking at the time frames, I would think that no one will wait longer than around 155 days from date complete to interview since that seems to be the longest wait time. Even though that is a ridiculously long time, I think LGG should get an interview no later than mid January.

Either way, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

Good luck and God bless for your interview,Dalene.

Thanks! Hopefully it will go smoothly.

Quick question for you all. After numerous calls with the NVC I'm still not sure how the scheduling process works (and I get different answers depending on who I talk to at when I call).

Who decides who gets interviewed?

I've been told either, MTL tells the NVC which cases they want to do and the NVC schedules the time or MTL says how many interview spots they have and the NVC decides who goes. In one phonecall, I was also told that your information doesnt automatically go to MTL, rather waits until the NVC is ready to schedule.

Would love to hear what others have been told.

IR1 case completed 23 Sep 09

I think if you did DCF or electronic processing, the consulate in Montreal will schedule your interview, but if you filed with the NVC and processed through them, then the NVC does the scheduling. If the NVC does do the scheduling, I think that MTL tells them how many slots they have and the NVC decides who to schedule since the whole file sits with them. After they schedule you for an appt, they then forward the file to MTL. Overall, how they decide who gets an appt and when seems to be a great mystery.

Who actually schedules the interview at the consulate? Is it NVC or the consulate?
I mean when the case is completed at NVC do they send the documents to the consulate immediately and then the consulate gets back to them with a date or does NVC drive it?
My wife's case was completed on August 4th and no interview date yet. When I call NVC they give me the handbook reply about scheduling on the second week of each month for the following month.

We are still waiting for an interview date as well and we were completed June 26. I thinkI could work for the NVC since I have their script memorized at this point! blink.gif

That's too bad...you must have just missed the cutoff for the November interviews, but who really knows how they do things?

Wooo! It's payday for us backloggers! kicking.gif I just received my interview letter via email from the NVC like not even 2 minutes ago. I basically only have to take the medical stuff to them from what it looks like since they told us to send EVERYTHING in. I'll have to get on that tomorrow, but I've already booked my room and my train haha

Everything had a Y or an O next to it in the "bring this to Montreal" area so I think my case should be fairly smooth once I get there.

For those still waiting, please hang in there. Your day will come!

Same with me! I just received my letter via e-mail and it looks as though all is good on the paperwork. Now, I'll just have to look into the hotel and all that stuff. How exciting! biggrin.gif

Trailmix, can you update the list, please? I also saw in another forum that BradnKim got their date for November 25th. Thanks!

I just called them, and it looks like I'm not getting an October interview at the consulate. I kind of figured as such when I saw Steve get his at the end of October. I'm sure I'll be scheduled in for November, but this begs the question as to why people three months ahead of me got interviews! lol The whole reason we had to go back and forth with the NVC was because their instructions were contradictory.

Beyond asking my legal advisers to talk to a supervisor at the NVC, I doubt there's really anything I can do. Just my luck it'll be a December interview, which next to March is one of the worst weather months for me where we're always completely snowed in -- and my way to my home in the States is through not only WNY, not only WPA, but the Appalachians the whole way! Geeeeeez guys let me in already haha

Hey Dawg, I sent the NVC an e-mail on Thursday, Sept. 10 asking when they think they may have a date available. I also mentioned that other cases approved after ours received interview dates, just to try pushing them along. As expected, they haven't answered yet and who knows if they will. I have a feeling they will start scheduling for November and as soon as I get a date, they'll respond to the e-mail asking why I sent the e-mail because I already have a date! blink.gif

My RFE is in for further review because the CO is blind.

They're requesting two things:

1) According to the CO, my country of domicile wasn't listed. Being a VJ member, I made two copies of my package on the day I sent it to NVC. My country of domicile is indeed listed.

2) On my co-sponsor's I864, they're claiming that the household should be 3, that my co-sponsor is married. Well, no, she was widowed in February.

That is very frustrating! We had RFEs from both the USCIS AND the NVC for my husbands divorce document, which we for sure included in both our original submissions, along with cover letters thoroughly explaining what was included in the package we sent. I think because it wasn't from the U.S., they didn't bother to carefully go through all the docs to find it. Overall, I think our case was probably delayed an additional 2-3 months because they weren't thorough, so I know how you feel. Now, we've been waiting for an interview appointment for almost three months with no word.

Good luck with your response to them. You should be able to just write ANOTHER letter explaining AGAIN what the situation is and get a quick approval. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. smile.gif

Just for curiosity sake, when did the NVC finish your case for the CR/IR visa? I looked at your timeline and you have Vancouver as your consulate, but they don't issue CR/IR visas, so I am guessing you applied for both a K visa AND CR/IR? Is your interview in Montreal?

lol looking at that list I don't know what to think. I called up like I said any they said no interview on their system but call back in a week, but I'm hearing that they're saying October scheduling is complete. Congrats Steve on your interview; I'm hoping I'm going to be very soon. What I'm not understanding is how someone who had their case completed two months after mine has an interview in early October (congrats on such luck though!), and someone who was finished just over a week before me has an interview, but the Dawg here is still waiting for his bone!

I hope I haven't fallen through the cracks... I'll know something's up if I don't get one in November if I don't get an October date.

Question for Steve -- did you get email confirmation or did you just call up? I don't know where to look first for my interview date.

Hey Dawghouse, I thought that I may have fallen through the cracks, too, but I think we're in the same boat (and they can't misplace TWO, right?). I did e-mail the NVC on Thursday, saying it's been a long time since they completed my case and I still don't have an interview, but they haven't answered yet. I'll post it here if they do. I think that Sierra did online submissions for Montreal (they only recently started that), so perhaps that is why the interview was scheduled earlier. Just a guess, but I agree that it doesn't make sense that they haven't scheduled all of June, yet started on August. Hopefully, we'll be scheduled soon!

You will need 2 passport photos for your interview, in american specs. And you need an Xpresspost envelope so they can mail you your visa and papers back. :) You need the biggest size, should be about $20, theres extra for a signature.

CanadaIR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview
Hi VJ,

I have my interview in Montreal on Thursday morning at 830AM. I have to say I'm a little nervous...

I have all the documents on the checklist that they have asked for but wanted to confirm a couple of things.

How many passport photos are needed? I've taken so many this year I can't remember.

Also, I've read something about having an ExpressPost envelope with me. Can someone explain?

Thanks again VJ! Fingers crossed!

FF

OK I don't know if this is going to piss anyone off or make ppl happy here.

But my jar dropped when I just received an email from the NVC and MY WIFES INTERVIEW IS MARCH 3rd!

I thought it was going to be 4-5 months!

I have nooooo clue what happened!

My Case was complete at the NVC on Dec 11th, electronic processing.

Guys,

The same thing just happened with us!!!!! We got March 25th for our appointment!!!! This is incredible!!! Totally unexpected!

Hahaha...I know! It was sort of the same with my wife. I was talking a mile a minute, saying, "And one of the people was only complete ten days before us...and she was scheduled...and others were scheduled...and they're not done scheduling...and we might still make February...and if not, March...and...and...and..." And of course she just said, "Honey, just wait for YOUR email."

Hey, it's different when you're the active one in the process! And judging by how few husband AND wife posters there are around these parts, I'm guessing that most of us are the "active" partner in the process, with the other there more for moral support (and calm voicings of reason...)

Hahaha just had the same conversation with my wife!!! :jest: :P

This may be a dumb question but do I call the NVC or DOS to check for interview date status?

Hi VJ Family,

I'd like to be added to the list please!

It helps greatly to see others who are in a similar predicament. My wife and I are finding it harder and harder to get through the days as we get closer to the holidays. Still waiting for our case to be complete!

Thanks,
FF
