Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardie Party!!! Come as you are - Part 1

Hey yall,

I’m still overwhelmed and its not getting any easier.

Yesterday when I got home I started making dinner my usual routine, and when my hubby got home he just took off his clothes and went to bed. I went into the room and said, “I sure wish I could just relax after I get in. But I had these kids since 6 am.”

He tells me: “Who told you to have them since 6 am”
Me: wait a minute, your daughter couldn’t go to the school around the corner remember, because she couldn’t pass the test, so I had to put her in the school by my job, all day kinder, which means when I take you to work in the morning at 6am, the kids are with me until I drop them off at school.

He just lays down and doesn’t say anything and goes to sleep. Sleeps until about 11:30 pm and wakes up looking for dinner. Eats dinner goes on the computer and goes to sleep.
Wakes up this morning doesn’t say anything to me, doesn’t help get any of the kids up, and tells me at 6:30 to drop him off at his friends house around the corner so he can get a ride to work.
No fckn convo since that smart sht yesterday afternoon.
I had a talk to him on Sunday letting him know our relationship so up and down it aint gone work. He don’t help he just do what he do and expect since his mom did everything that that’s a womans job. Maybe that’s a womans job if she don’t work. Beacsue she has never had a job. If I didn’t work I could clean and cook and shop and take on all the responsibilities as a house wife, and not look to him for support, but since Im bringing in as much money as him I feel it should be split. And danmn it im pregnant where is my sympathy.
Then he had the nerve to say, we can barely make it with 3 how we gonna make it with 4 (OMG yall I blew up and told him sht him and his daughter and this newborn can make it back in Jamaica with his momma, if he chooses so) He claims he will try to make it better gave me a hug and was acting different for the rest of that day. But they next day it ack to the same oh him.

Well I told his azz next week make sure you take off work because Im switching all these kids to the school by the house. I cant keep leaving work in the morning and the afternoon, to take these kids.

Update: So the baby took the test at the new school with the all day kinder and she passed it ( maybe because my husband was with her and he don’t play with her) but they put her in 1st grade. And the work that she is doing right now in the first grade she understand we just gotta work with her to learn how to sound words out.

So Im switch her to the school by my house, well my hubby is because Im tired of going in circles for this little girl. I had to take off 8 hrs last week and don’t have no more vacation due to the JA trip. Im taking off to switch my boys but he gonna have to switch her and take the test scores from the school showing she passed the test.

This is a lot of drama!!!!

I love all your adivce and keep it coming but if anybody wants to talk negative, because im sure it is coming, write it then delete it because I don’t need any one talking about how perfect their life is and telling me mine is shtty, just keep it positive and try to help in a nice way or be prepare to get cussed out!!!! Cause everyone has problems and Im trying to share mine with my true VJ sisters on here. To get healthy advice(L)

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMontreal Interview - How long to schedule?
Sandy -

First off - thank you! I have nothing but respect for people like you who are willing to share information with someone you've never met and liekly never will! This whole process has been a learning experience and a stressful one. With folks like yourself who are happy to help out and explain I am truly grateful.

Hopefully our case will be routed as you explained above and we will hear something shortly. I'm sure I will be on this site more and more as the time goes by just checking to see if anyone has heard anything and how others cases are progressing. I'll let you know when we hear something.

Thanks again

Darryl

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMontreal Interview - How long to schedule?
Hi,

This summer I got married to my girlfriend who is a dual citizen (Canadian/American). We went to the consulate in Toronto and filled out all the paperwork and submitted the petition. We were sent the case # and a checklist of all documentation we had to obtain - we gathered all the documentation and send the checklist back (couriered it). So now we're waiting for the Montreal interview to be scheduled and nothing has happened. We sent the checklist back in mid-October 2006 and it is not mid-February 2007. I called the Visa office in Montreal back in December to make sure they got the checklist (they did on October 23rd) and to find out when we might hear back - the guy on the phone said it would 'probably' be January when we'd receive the letter with the interview date and the interview should be in February. We still haven't heard anything about the interview. Does anyone know how long this usually takes? We are left hanging with our lives kind of in limbo...My wife wants to move to the US for family reasons, my company wants to move me to the US for a promotion...but none of this can happen until we get the interview.

Also - what happens during the interview? I've read somewhere that there is a medical evaluation? Is the interview a long process? Once its done when do you get the Visa? When could we move to the US?

If anyone could shed some light on this whole situation I would be incredibly grateful!

Thanks

I don't think you'll have to worry about your interview for quite some time...it is not a quick process. Most seem to be taking 8-12 months from the time you file to the interview date...you've got lots and lots and lots of time. Unfortunately you might want to be more concerned with being away on vacation for your one year anniversary when the interview gets scheduled
:crying:

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

CanadaAny news about DCF filers waiting for Montreal interview?
Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has heard any news about the new Adam Walsh laws and the delays they are causing for people who filed their petitions via DCF (at the consulate) and are waiting for their Montreal interview. Just want to see if anyone has heard of any progression....

Let us know if you're in the same boat!

I called the NVC (603-334-0700) spoke with an operator - they said they had nothing on file for our case #....We have been assigned a case # months back MTLXXXXXXXX - is this normal that they wouldn't have any reference of our case #?

Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts on where else to check?

Thanks

CanadaMontreal FINALLY WE GOT OUR INTERVIEW DATE!!!!
Thats great, congrats to those of you who received your interview date. Not sure if I'm in the right spot but I've filed via DCF and am waiting for my Montreal interview - apparently with the new "Adam Walsh law" things are being delayed - are any of you in the same situation? I'm just wondering if the DCF filers interviews are beginning to get scheduled...

Thanks

CanadaMontreal Interview Date!!!
Hey

Just a question - when you guys are saying you're calling the NVC - what # are you calling? Does it end up at the Montreal consulate? The question I'm asking is because any time I call Montreal Consulate directly I don't get any of this information about when they schedule interviews or that I should call back etc. They basically say "it's waiting for an interview to be scheduled...bye"

From your signatures I see that you're all I-129F filers and maybe thats the difference as I filed DCF. I was just wondering why the inconsistency and maybe I should be calling the NVC (if anyone has the # I'd appreciate it).

Thanks

National Visa Center (Dept of State)No word from the NVC

I received my NOA2 around June 22 and have heard nothing from the NVC. This isn't so bad, we are not in a hurry now, he must stay in Germany for several more months for work reasons anyway. When I call they say they haven't gotten my case either. I assume it should be there this week, or I will get a bit worried. I don't mind them taking their time, but I don't want anything lost either.

Anyone else, how long did your case take to get to the NVC?
Bobbie

Hi Bobbie,
I recieved my NOA2 from California on June 6 and I still havent heard from the NVC. I hope it does not take too much longer to get my package into the process.
Good Luck.

Canadapetition I130 approved, I am in US can I file for everything else from here?

Hi guys,

I am a Canadian citizen who married an American citizen last year in Montreal. we were together in Montreal for about 8 months and then decided to move to US. we packed our stuff and crossed the border. we had tickets to go to India for 4 months. we filed the I-130 in December. we came back from India to US in April and two weeks ago I recieved the approval for the I 130 petition. The case is now at the NVC. I called but the application is not in yet.
I am currently in US, ever sice we got back from India. Now, I know they will send the papers for me to follow to the canadian address I gave them (my brother's). But Is there any way I can follow up on the application from US? The only status I have now in US is a visitor, which I am entitled to stay for 6 months.
Can I follow up on everything from here or do I have to return to Canada and follow up from there? If I talk to NVC, will they change my address to US (my husband) and allow me to follow up everything from here?

Please help.

Hi there,
I have been reading about your experience and wondered if I could ask you a couple of questions as your case is kind of similar to mine. My husband and I (he's a USC) lived in Torontofor two years and we decided that we wanted to come to the US. We applied for our I130 petition in March2007 and since then my husband has moved to Florida. I'm here in Florida visiting with him and I'm still waiting for approval of my I130. Just wondering how your process is going? Did you go back to Canada?
Thanks....from a fellow Canadian

It really is a small world...thanks again for your advice. I will post my experiences....

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresContacting Montreal Embassy
Hi Folks

Just wondering if anyone can help me with some info

I had to postpone my CR-1 interview ( which was scheduled for Dec 15th) as I was out of the country and returned back just few days ago , I wrote to the embassy saying my dilemma and also sent them copies of my ticket and earlier note to NVC explicitly letting them know that I cannot be available end of nov till early jan ...I got a reply from the Montreal embassy that "the contents have been noted"

Now here is the issue:

a> Now when i call NVC they say , they dont know as all the files are with Montreal Embassy and that I need to contact them directly
b> Montreal embassy doesnot entertain phone calls, so I emailed them twice still no reply

Any ideas if there is any other way to contact the embassy ?

Any suggestions appreciated and Thank you

Happy New Year!!!

I'm looking for a good thread on the benefits of a Canadian obtaining US citizenship. Also, I'd like info on having dual citizenship, and/or retaining Canadian citizenship.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)approved feb 1st NOA2
During past 5 weeks, I Spoke with NVC operators on avg. of twice a week and last time was March 09,10 yesterday. I did also send two e-mails for address change with copy of my approved I130 and their written inquires dept said not received yet, My only obligation is the damm 90 days,

I really hope you all are calling the NVC and speaking with an operator and not listening to the automated message. If the NVC customer service person tell you it hasn't been received, then it hasn't been received, but the automation does not work with K-1's, as mine arrived last week and left yesterday and yet automation still says it hasn't been received.

Arlyn,

we are on the same boat...., My I-130 got approved and sent out to this NVC on Feb 1st just as you though i belong to Priority 4 ( US Citizen file to brother) and I was on the phone today with NVC, same answer, Not received yet, it may take up to 90 days, this is really pathetic, all i want is my damm NVC # and i will not bother no one no more till my damm Priority date "April 2002" becomes Current. I am really pissed off,

:crying:

I called USCIS and NVC they both saying same thing. They telling me it take up to 90 days. That really make me mad.I see alot cases approved and sent and recieved by NVC in 1 week or 2.I feel like im on the old timeline for K-1 visa waiting fro 7 months up to a year. It's sad to me see other after approved and the process spends up.It feel like hell when mines feel it slows down for no reason .I can only gues that they mail me my NOA2 aqnd never mail my package to NVC.I message my congressman like a nice person on here told me to try.I stil ahve not gotten a response from them also.I think I understand people more when things like this happen and they start go crazy.I even startoing to consider another option that leave me in a bind, but feel it only way for me to be with the women I love.

Hello,

My wife is scheduled for her K-1 spousal Visa interview in two weeks at the Montreal Consulate.
My question is does anybody know how long after the interview it takes to get the Visa?

Any info will be helpful, Thanks!

I just put up a little blog about my approval this past Monday and hope it helps you in both directions!!!!

They are pretty great for processing if all of your stuff is in order(originals and copies etc!!!!!)

And it is no longer than a week if you have your XpressPost envelope together!!!!

Hope this helps????
