The light should start getting bigger and brighter somewhere near the end of March, so you're almost there. :star:

Still! is there any light at the end of the tunnel soon!

How much longer does it take from here, we have been waiting patiently for any new news, I am just so depressed and need some advice here.

Apparently as of Dec 29th/09 it will take 5 months, do they mean 5 months before we know as to if they accept the petition or before they go two the next phase of the process

I also sent in my petition on Nov 9th 2009 and still have not gotten my NOA2 yet.

According to the time line I should have received my NOA2 by now but I don't know whats going on.... :crying:

I'm trying really hard to be patient....

According to time lines that I have read I am not really all that sure myself, just been crying and lost for the most part. I think that we maybe are in the NOA2 by now, for the received and now are going through the information that my lawyer provided, so confused and just lost. I feel so stupid sometimes with some of the questions that I ask here but hey, stupid is, is what stupid gets! I could care less if anyone here thinks that way of me. I have been just so overwhelmed and a lot of the short form terms that are being used here are confusing as all get out, if you know what I mean, lol!

5-6 months for a K-1 visa. Approximately, generally.

So basically I should be in the States by 5-6 months, counting down since Nov/09.

Just a quick question, currently we are waiting for our petition to be approved, thus far the have received it and cashed the cheque. our petition was sent out Nov/09, any ideas as to when our petition will get approved and when my interview will be, my lawyer said possibly by the summer, just frustrated and lonely. Thanks, I think that i should have named myself here sitting on pins and needles, lol!

HAHA! Oh dear, I do believe that all of us here in the November VSC filers room have finally gone nuts! They're going to have to haul us away in straight jackets as we're muttering under our breath about visas and ferrets.

No kidding and I thought that I was the only one going off the deep end! :bonk:

We are all here for you and all are going threw similar situations. We just have to keep up hope that we will all have the chance to be with the ones we love soon. Try to focus on the positive things that we do have, like the fact that we do have someone who is so in love with us that they are waiting for us. Good luck and I hope you hear something soon.

Thank you! :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2009 filers

Oh, I've definitely had my pessimistic days, too. Crying at work yesterday when my boss came in to ask how everything was going; definitely not one of my better moments... But my honey and I always try to remind each other that we only have to do it once, and it's only a few months (hopefully!) of being apart in order to be able to spend the rest of our lives together. This time next year, we'll be cuddling with our beloveds, and all this waiting for NOA2s will seem like a fading bad dream. At least when we're waiting for green cards, etc. to be approved, we'll be waiting together. :luv:
My fiance tells me "We've made it this far, I just need you to hang on a little longer!" Just a little longer.... sigh. And then, he changes the subject to the latest cricket match, but that's another story

It's coming, team! We're on the approval cusp!

My fiance tells me the same thing, but dang it's taking so long to get the petition approved and as for crying at work, that is me to. I feel so overwhelmed and hope that by my Birthday in Oct 28/10 I will be back and planning our wedding once and for all, its not easy trying to invite people and get things ready when I have no clue as to when or whatever, I hope to hear something back, but I am not holding my breath that would be suicide put mildly,

We are a great community, and we stand up for each other.
Some of us feel down, and come and write down how they feel, and the other members are here to cheer them up.
But of course, we will feel more frustrated, if some other members (who brag about getting their NOA2 fast cos of military deployment, I wont quote, but it's in January 2010 K-1 VSC thread), come and spread BS. I would like to see, if in 3-4 month, the other January filers will still be happy for the ones who cut in the lines.

Oh well ...

I just hope that u all get some good news today or by next week.
I lost hope. I wont post anything bout the unfairness, cos i don't want other members (who doesnt understand what nearly 4 month waiting means) to come and spread their BS in our thread.

If i see something frustrating, i'll just stick to "No comment ..."

just sitting on pins and needles for the most part, I have been an emotional basket case. I am so nervous for I have no clue as to what is next or even if his petition is accepted and so on. A very frustrating experience and one that I do discourage if anybody asks me what has been going on so far. I never thought that we would have to be seperated for so long and then when I found out that it may take even up to a year, the tears where falling and the very throught of me and my baby having to spend another Christmas alone, just kills. Its very difficult to for him to travel to me, I mean he has two daughters and our love bird (Tabooh), not to mention a job. I am to nervous to travel for maybe they will not allow me to travel to the States, my lawyer indicated that we are now flagged since his petition went in and there is the possibility that I could get turned away. I feel like a criminal for crying out loud, I am from Canada, I have no reason to be trying just marry some American to get a green card, my country is amazing, has great health care to just to mention one of the great things about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2009 filers

Hi. I just sent our I-129F off today and thought I'd kick it off for the November crowd. My fiance left the US and I'm already going crazy waiting for him to be back here, but it sounds like I've got to get used to the idea of being a bit lonely for several months yet.
Any other November filers to commiserate or be hopeful with?

My fiance is in the States and we have filed through my lawyer in Canada filed, at the end of Nov/09. They had received his petition but I haven't heard anything back yet, just sitting on pins and needles and very lonely to say the least. Not sure what to expect next or how long this entire process is going to take.

its been such a long road for us, we are totally burnt out from all of this. The one thing that keeps us strong is the love that we have for one another. That helps me get through the rough spots, but the not knowing when or anything is pretty tough. I have never encountered such a stressful experience such like this one in my entire life and will never again thank god!

Thank you, its not easy losing your father and seeing your fiance off at the airport not knowing when will see each other again, very stressful time indeed, at least Montreal called me today to indicate that they can not find my police letter from Israel, and gave me instructions as to where to send and I contacted the Israeli consol, and they are going to send it out to them with the info that I had provided them with from Montreal, I am hopeful that this time things will not get lost, just crazy I can't stand this pressure and the not knowing when yet again, and by no fault of my own. :crying:

I'm sorry! Hang in there! I am sure that everything will work out, and you can be with your sweetie soon! (F)

Thank you hugs! (F)

Got a call from Montreal today and they were unable to locate my paper work so they gave me an address to have the Israelie's to send the duplicate that was sent on Aug 16Th/10. I will have to re-apply for a new one and it takes up to three months, I can sure kiss my birthday goodbye and Christmas this year, not happy because I did everything that was asked of me, and this is what happens. :crying:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNeed advice as to how to handle this situation with paper work that had been lost by Montreal office, police letter

in dealing with montreal, i would have your fiance's senator/congressman liaison contact the consulate and have them (montreal) get their hands on it. with the way montreal operates, you have to hound them. i wouldn't suggest waiting very long at all - ultimately you will have to push them, and emailing - well you could do that for days and days and maybe you'll get a bs response after your 30th email. hope everything works out for you guys soon..ultimately - this is just a little hiccup and everything will be fine.

never mind my comment then - awesome!

usually paperwork just sits in the mailroom!

well i know that most embassies expect petitioners ( for any kind of visa ) to give them a couple of days to get back to them, like 3 work days of something of that sort.

Hello
Sadly enough it has been a rough road for me on this long journey to be able to get married to my fiance, we finally got to the interview we were approved but than there was a hitch, they lost my Police letter from the Israeli consulate that was sent out on Aug 16Th/10. I had the Israeli consulate fedex the missing letter to Montreal and that was sent and signed by security in Montreal. I had e-mailed Montreal back to inform them about the tracking number as will as the fact that it had been signed for by the security officer. I have not heard anything back and that was three e-mails that I had sent to them. not sure what to do from here for everything is up in the air, any advice would be welcomed, :( :crying:

It took exactly 90 days from NOA1 to NOA2. Look on the bright side, once you get your NOA2, and you get your case number from NVC, you can do the electronic filing optin.

Just got back from the lawyers office with all the paper work in hand, just have to add my fiance paper work and we are good to go. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long for a petition to be process to the interview stage
Thank you, I have been so depressed and felt as if my world had been turned up side down. I feel lost and lonely right now. I don't even know how long its going to take and this has been rather disturbing to me, I hate to say it.

I have a tendency to get overwhelmed as well.

Just think about it ONE STEP at a time, one form at a time. And every day that goes by, you're closer to being together!

hugs and thank you!

Take your time, read the guides, read other people's posts, and relax. The more you learn, the less overwhelmed you'll feel. I lurked on this forum for 4 months before I finally signed up. By that time, pretty much all of my questions had been answered by reading the information available here.

Otto und Karin gave you a good description of the potential problems with visiting after a petition has been submitted. Nobody would discourage you from visiting. You just have to be more prepared because there's an increased chance you would be denied entry. The petition makes it clear to the US government that the foreign beneficiary does eventually intend to immigrate to the US. This puts a heavier burden on them to prove to the CBP officers that they don't intend to remain in the US when they enter with a non-immigrant pass.

It has been a ride in ahalf, I just hope that this year we can finally get married and get on with our lives. I have never been through so much like this before, I feel so tired and overwhelmed. I am glad that you have given me helpful advise, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresshould i get an attorney to handle the K-1 visa.. or do it myself?

reading through this thread, it seems most of you did all the paper work/processing yourself. i was thinking of going through an attorney that specializes in this type of thing - do any of you veterans have an opinion on that? good idea, if i want to make sure it's done correctly / followed through?

if it's a good idea, do you recommend a specific place to go through for a K-1?

I actually did hire a lawyer to help me through the k-1 process, paper work was confusing and I wanted everything to be correct the first time. It is up to you, but I myself hired a lawyer just to be safe.
