Wow, this is all pretty crazy stuff!!! :bonk:

Alaba, what I would do is bring every NOA you have ever received since the K1, and ask if a mistake was made. If there was a mistake, I believe they can fix that at the biometrics appointment. I know of a member that had the wrong birthday on their green card, and they had to go for a walk-in appointment at the same place where her bio appointment was... Maybe you can knock two birds with one stone...

Brenda2010, does that mean you have to go all the way back to Canada??? What a pain!!! So, they did not match with the prints taken at the K1 interview, is that it? Gosh, this is so ridiculous!!! :ranting:

Well, keep us posted you guys, maybe this week will bring better news to all of you...

Thank God, no don't have to go back to Canada to have it done.

I did have to go to the backwoods of Baltimore though, to some fingerprint processing centre. Did that yesterday. Told them I was there because Immigration had tried my prints twice and failed and that they should run a date of birth and name check for a criminal record check but they said nooooo, they'd do the fingerprints again, then if that failed they'd do that as a last resort. Ridiculous. Sure I'll be back there next week!

Not really sure what they're trying to match to - makes sense though, what you suggested, the ones taken at the K1 interview. The problem seems to be that they can't get a proper read on them all the time - so they're only capturing say 5 out of 10 digits, then they do it again and get a hit on the other 5 but of course that doesn't match to the original ones that worked. Make sense? Ay yay yay. Going to the gym, gonna run it off!

OMG! that is crazy. I am so sorry you have to go through this. That sounds like it is going to be a pain in the butt. My goodness do they like to jerk you around eh? geez.

Thanks MandaNChris...yeah they certainly do! That's so weird about a diff A#...now I'm off to check mine. Dear lord, what else can happen?????

Happy Belated J!

So got my stupid RFE and it was for FINGERPRINTS not matching, ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm gonna lose it! You may recall the first time I went I got a letter saying they didn't match, I had to go back and do it again...so I did, told them to be extremely dilligent, and guess they weren't! So now, I have the pleasure of having to get a criminal record check done at my local police station (I'm in Baltimore so that's gonna be a very interesting trip!) and how do they do it? Why, with fingerprints of course! Ridiculous. Will keep you posted.

Hahaha, don't worry about it guys, I'm sure it's something pointless -at least to us! Didn't Tater&####### get a RFE too for tax stuff? And her file still moved quickly because she had her interview a little before I did. You'll see, it'll all work itself out. Chins up ladies!

Thanks Vero! So today i received my combo EAD/AP card...wow, could that picture be any uglier? Thanks local immigration office. Assume I'll get the RFE next week, they said they mailed it on the 2nd. Off to figure out EI now. Yippee!

Oh that is sucky Brenda2010. Hope you find out what its for soon and you can send the stuff back quickly. Good about the EAD and AP tho.

My status is still showing that we got a RFE. We sent back the stuff a week ago so I would think they got it by now.

Frustrating isn't it? So close, sooooo close dammit! Your RFE was for tax stuff right? Wonder what ours is for...hmmmm...this is what I get for boasting about how fast/well ours was going...I said it must've been the fabulous job I did preparing all the forms!! :P That'll teach me to brag!

So just found out on another forum that they can indeed issue the EAD/AP without the AOS which will be on hold till I send back the evidence required and that the EAD is a different document/card not the green card (oopsy) which you get with an approved AOS. Wow, enough acronyms in that sentence?? All makes sense now. So now I wait for the RFE...boooo

So weird thing...I, because I'm paranoid and have seen/heard nothing since last Tuesday, checked the uscis website again and surprise surprise, I have an RFE for the AOS...what the hell? Apparently they've sent me a letter approving my advanced travel/AP request, and a card is in production for my EAD, which I assumed was a green card but guess it's something else. Bummer. Any thoughts on how they could approve 2 out of the 3?

Hey guys, just checked status on the website and apparently my green card was ordered yesterday, yippee! Guess i better get job searching/on the EI pay list asap!

Weird though...that i was not notified via email nor text like the last time but think i read on someone's post that they're not always consistent with contact mediums. Oh well, who cares as long as I'm getting my gc soon!

Want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped me get this far - special should out to Vero who has been a superstar throughout this whole journey!

Hahaha, what is wrong with your fingers? Sorry, you probably don't think it's funny, but it sounds like you're some kind of new Terminator woman!!!
I'm glad you got it done so quickly, good for you! Don't worry, it'll be ok, I don't see why they would keep asking you to go back and do it again... Keep us posted!

Hilarious Vero, thanks for that! I wish I had super powers but alas the technician said I simply have 'shallow prints' and soft hands. Nutty!

It's nice here in Baltimore too - 25 today - starting to get worried about not having central air though...we'd better get started shopping for that new house!!

Ahhhhh Brenda2010, that sucks!!! I would definitely do a walk-in, especially if the office is not too far... Worse comes to worse they'll turn you around and say you have to go on May 5th... It'll be OK, just a glitch in the whole thing, stay positive girrrrl!

Alrighty, second set done! Walked in this morning and thankfully they understood me not wanting to wait another 3 weeks and took me - took forever though, same problem, but the woman who did them assured me that she 'got something' and that after 2 tries they pass you anyway (not sure I believe that but it sounds good!). So now i wait in trepidation...jees...

Oh boy. Just got a notice saying that the FBI was unable to process my fingerprint card to I have to get them done AGAIN! And not till May 5th...going to see if i can do a walk in. #######. And it was all going so smoothly.

At our interview in Montreal they had problems with my prints too - and I told the guy that at the biometrics appt hoping he'd take more care - damn.

Brenda2010, our appointment was at 12, and we got there at 10am. We were done by 10:30am... We just decided to go early because of traffic... We were back home by 12. It's up to you guys really.

I ended up going 1/2 hour beforehand, they took me right away, was out in 15 mins. - in addition to fingerprints they also took yet another photograph...I can't tell you how many unflattering photographs there are off me floating around in immigration land now! lol

So when I was up in Canada last year waiting on the K-1 visa, I rescued a cat and kept it at my parents house. He's an outside cat, but he love it. Always chasing mice and what not. My mom has kept him since I left, kept feeding him and what not, but yesterday she said he had a fight with another cat in the night of Sunday, and hasn't showed up since to eat. I'm SO SAD! :crying: This cat was like this thing my mom could take care of and it would remind her of me, you know? Man, I'm so sad! Maybe he'll show up this week?

Oh, I'm sorry Vero, but don't give up/tell your mum not too - I've had cats all my life. He's probably hiding and will show up eventually - my friend's cat goes missing for days/weeks on end sometimes after a big blow out. Is she leaving food out for him?

We both wore jeans. Clean ones, clean shoes and nice top.

Today is Vero's interview... she is probably done right now all excited and laughing at herself about how easy it was haha.

Brenda - I have no idea why we had an interview because we were approved before we arrived. I think they just need to have a certain number of interviews.

Yes, you're right, she probably is marvelling at how easy it was! Guess I shouldn't laugh too hard 'cause I'll surely be in the same stressed out boat when it's my turn :)

And yeah, I imagine it is something like them filling their quotas for interviews or some other arbitrary reason we haven't thought of!

 Brenda2010, that's exactly what I've been doing too! Maybe we could start a blog and take over Martha Stewart! I do have a lot of tips on how to dissolve stain just with vinegar!!! Maybe we could have a show on the OWN network, haha!

Thanks Tater&####### for the reassurance, I do over-analyse everything, I can't help it, it's an OCD thing... Chris has to count everything he does, so I guess we fit well together!

About the health thing, Rose416 said that it was brought up at her interview, and she explained why she has no coverage right now, and if I remember, her interview guy said that they understand that you can't get everything in a span of 5 months...
I'm in the same situation, if Chris were to put me on his insurance, it would be 400$ a month because I'm unemployed. So if this comes up at our interview, I'll explain that I'm waiting to find work so I can either be put on his insurance or get my own through work.. Makes sense, no?

Yup, perfect sense!

And there you go again with the similarities- I clean with vinegar all the time...quick, call the network!! :)

Congrats Tater&#######, and thanks for all the good reviews/info.!

Vero, you're cracking me up, we're too peas in a pod...I absolutely can't stand not being in control of things. That's why, while going through all this immigration turmoil and in lieu of working, I've appointed myself Master Chef, Chief Laundry Do-er, and Cleaner Extraordinaire :)

Quick question re: interview...did I read somewhere that we need to bring proof that we have health insurance? If that's the case I'm screwed - Sean's self employed so can't be put on his, insurance agent I went through told me he can't sign me up for anything till I've been in the country for 6 months...is that crazy or what? Obviously I'm not the first person in this situation so can't understand why it's so difficult/why someone doesn't offer this kind of interim insurance.

I am collecting EI. Once your EAD is approved they can start paying you. Mine was approved in Jan and I have STILL been trying to find work. I live in a weird area though. Small town, mostly military so any place that is tailored to my description I cannot do because I am not a citizen :(

EI is pretty easy if you've already called. You call them back once you have the EAD card and fax or scan/email a copy to them with your SNN and they send you the reports in the mail. They ask you to keep record of all the jobs you apply for in case they want to see some.

Thanks for that, nice to know someone else who's doing it. Think I'll start looking before I have the EAD approved, that way there'll be no lapse between approval and payment! At least I hope there won't be, who really knows...

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTiming of RFEs

Just filed our I751 in March so early days for us, but I'm curious about the timing of RFEs...

I've been looking at earlier filers' progress and it looks like if they get RFEs it's not until 5 or 6 months after they filed. Weird, having a hard time believing it takes them 5-6 months to review the file.

Anyone have any insight as to why it would take that long for them to issue? Other than 'they're busy', 'they're slow', lol.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 March, 2013 Filers

Hi all - you're not gonna believe this but I'm still waiting!

After my second biometrics done on November 5th I've heard nothing. Called twice - in December and January - whereat they said they would send an inquiry to Vermont. Nothing. Went in for an info pass appt end of February and was told 'someone' was working on my file (as of Feb. 12...what?). Today/April 3 I called USCIS again and was told they would issue another inquiry to Vermont and that I should call back in a couple weeks to check status - or maybe I'd get an email, or maybe a letter. Awesome.

Getting a little nervous...my GC extension expires end of May.

Apparently, if nothing happens after this round I should file a customer complaint with the Vermont Service Centre and/or contact my politician to expedite. Anyone else have a better idea? This is beyond frustrating. Guess I had it coming, it's been pretty easy for me up till now.

Appreciate your input.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 March, 2013 Filers

Well, yesterday I opened the mailbox to find a letter from USCIS. It was a response to our phone call inquiry, and only stated that "your address has been updated with the new information given during your call." Thing is, we didn't update our address during that call. We moved over a year ago and updated then. I was getting ready to call back and find out what was going on, but I decided to check our case status online this morning. Card production ordered 10/30/13, card will arrive in 30 days. Seems like they're finishing up us stragglers from March/April - I hope you'll be approved soon.

Well that's wonderful news, congratulations!  I'm going to go do a walk in for second set of fingerprints next week - hope it doesn't take them 6 months to tell me they don't work either, hahaha!!

Ridiculous update: 2 days ago I got a letter from USCIS saying they couldn't get a hit on my fingerprints taken back in APRIL!!  Way to go guys, nothing like waiting 6 months to tell me that. So I've got an appt to do the prints again November 14 but I'm just gonna do a walk in. Lord. This is what happened with my 2 year card - I ended up going 3 times, the last time to a special 'print' place. Blech.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 March, 2013 Filers

Thanks for the info - we called Friday after work and I spoke with a Lvl. 1 who basically read me the info available on the website word for word. I said I wanted to confirm my address, and he said he'd have to pass me to a Lvl, 2 for personal info. It rang a few times, then we got another message -  opted for the call-back feature instead of waiting on the line for the estimated 45 minute wait. I received a call back at around 6:45 ET and spoke with a helpful operator who confirmed our correct address, then like you, said we were outside the normal timeframe so he sent out a service request. I understand the request will take a month to hear back on, which hopefully we will all be approved by then... either way, it was a relief to know our app was still in process instead of an RFE or approval sent to the old address. Thanks again.

No problem, happy to help. And now we wait some more... :)
