US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionBeing updated
Hello does anybody know how you are kept updated after sending packet 3 back (ds-156, sd-230 etc) I have sent them to London but have no idea how to find out if the forms have been completed correctly, received etc. Tried calling the number on here and operator just said cant check as it may take 6weeks to show on their system so no help at all....

Is there anywhere that I can check to keep myself updated?

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionpacket 3 received?
Hello Mate,

Was in exact same position, after about 4.5 weeks got a confirmation email but also phoned them (on works phone of course :-) ) and got them to check and they confirmed they had received them.

Sent my checklist a couple weeks later though, so hope that goes through quickly

Good Luck

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa Interview
Hello everybody, got our interview on the 31st January in London!
Just a question does anybody know everything that is needed for the interview, would hate any delay to be my fault by not taking something.
Any help would be amazing, also how many people are actually rejected at interview stage, we have so much proof. Hoping its the final formality before I get to be with my gal!

Cheers

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionJust about to start: Need I-134 advice
Alright mate, !-134 always seems to cause worries....

If there is just the 2 of you you only have to prove you earn over $16500 pa so 50k plus you will have no problem.

Just get bank to send you official letter of when you opened account and all deposits this year and get a letter of work with salary and start date accompanied by pay stubs and you won't have a problem.

Hope this helps

I heard there is a fee of around $380 due at the interview for processing. Is this true?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched?
Hello-

I am new to this site and was just wondering what it means when your case has been "touched", also how we I find out if ours has been?java script:emoticon(':help:',%20'smid_14')

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing Times

The processing times on the USCIS is the time it takes for them to get from NOA1 to NOA2 and nothing to do with the time that a visa is issued, NVC and the Consulate can add months to the time. This just a max time, sort of their way of saying if you have not received your approval and NOA2 letter in 6 months, don't call us until 6 months are past since NOA1. :clock:

After NOA2 then petition goes through NVC which takes time the on to the consulate.

Thanks for that....On average then doea it take around 6-8 months for the whole thing to go through

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing Times
Hello Everyone,

I would be grateful if somebody could answer this question for me, it may be pretty obvious but here goes..

On the USCIS site is the processing time the time it takes to get get your visa in hand or the time it takes to get the NOA2, their dealing with cases from March 8th right now...

Cheers

Are you still able to track the progres of your case on the USCIS website after receiving the NOA2? If not, is there a new site that will offer us updates on our case?

matako Yes you fill in these 4 new forms that the embassy give you a link too and send them back, then I think you recieve the interview date.

So looks as if I will have to somehow get a US police cert, I have no idea how to do this though

Whole process is just hard and drawn out :(

Just found this address for anybody who may have the same problem....

http://www.immihelp.com/immigration/police-certificates.html

Says not to get a police certificate for USA on there as they do not do them, look correct to anybody else? Will be a huge relief if this information is correct and I don't have to get one from there too

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStress :-)
Hello everyone, first hope everyone is keeping well

Today I recieved my forms from London to fill in....
DS-230 part1
DS-156
DS-156K
DS-157

Just a few questions if somebody would be kind enough to give me and Amie some advice.

1) Its asks for police certificates for not only home country but any other country I have lived in for over a year, I have lived in USA for 12 months not so long ago, in California, does this mean I have to get a US police cert to or does this not matter as it was USA. If I do need to get one does anybody know how to get this as it is really worrying us

2) The Medical, I was always under the impression that I took the medical on the morning of the interview, after reading this letter it looks as if I can get it done before I even get an interview date...Is this correct?

Sorry for being so clueless on this, Hope somebody can enlighten us

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRight Medical Complete
Had my medical in London on Friday, £220 it ended up costing as I had to have the MMR vaccine as it never showed up on my medical history!

Was only there around an hour, Dr went through everything with me with regards to chest x-ray etc. Said everything was fine. So just have to wait for blood test results which should be Ok and its happy days.

Just waiting at the moment for something from the embassy about interview date. Can't believe we have eventually got this far.

For anyone at the beginning stick with it, its long,s low and painful but you slowly get there in the end!

Anyway, just thought I would share and will no doubt have a million Q's still before its over :-)
