K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMultiple Entry K-1 ?

He shouldn't even have to return to the same Land PoE - any Deferred Inspection unit should also be able to do the car importation paperwork. Once he has the compliance letters, importing is just one reasonably easy form. He'll need to have the compliance letters, proof of ownership, and know (at least roughly, lowball it a little if you're not sure - it gets used as the basis for an import tax at state DMV registration/titling in some states) the Blue Book value for the car.

Exactly. I did not import my vehicle until two months after coming to the US. I had the car manufacturer email me a compliance letter then headed over to the local Toledo CBP office. Check out these locations in Michigan Michigan US Customs and Border Protection

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI lied on my B2 application - will this hurt our K1 chances??

Well, people do change their minds. The fact that you mentioned that you were visiting for tourism purposes will not deny you the chances of getting a k1 visa. Now that you are intending to get married, I advise that you contact the USCIS to advise you on how you can marry while you are still here in the US. Also on the USCIS website there are details on how a US citizen can marry a foreign citizen (who is already in the US and who is outside the US) and then apply for a green card. The form is I-130 and comes with separate instruction. I really advise that you look at it. You can also consider of getting married here and then apply for a family based visa if you decide to go back.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVerifying Income

I began my LPN training, the last jobs that I have worked at has been at my father's store(nothing will show on tax return or bank statements). I will finish sometime next year and will begin working as an LPN. I know that I will be making more than or around 19k gross income annually. I would like to begin the K-1 visa when I start working as an lpn but I am worried that they will want to see past income, will this be an issue? How long should I start working as an LPN before I apply?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit form K-1 Visa , New Job

Basically, to make it more clear.....

I started my first, new, decent job this year so my past financial history will not be impressive nor even meet their standards, so including last year's transcript or this year's transcript would not be very beneficial.

My evidences that I will use is my current income (which is well above the poverty line), I will use perhaps 4 or 5 months worth of pay stubs, and a letter from my employer.

Hopefully this will be sufficient?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit form K-1 Visa , New Job

I suggest you include the previous year tax return or transcript. Additionally get a letter from all your banks indicating total deposits over the last year. Provided your current income meets the standards & you provide the tax return & bank letter. The short work period should not be a problem. The key is does your previous and current income meet the poverty standards.

When you order your tax transcripts, get the last three years. you will need them for the AOS later.

I just graduated from College and started working so there will not be any work history for last year, and this is my first decent job.

Are you saying that in order to do adjustment of status I must have 3 years of tax transcripts shown??

Well yes 3 months or 6 pay stubs (if 2 paychecks per week).

I was thinking that perhaps showing 4 or 5 months of work plus a letter from the employer may be sufficient ?

Anyone?

I just started my new job a month ago, I am wondering how many months of work do they need to see for it to be considered a "stable" income.

I heard that 3 pay stubs will be sufficient, is that true?

USCIS Service CentersCSC Closed for 2 days

We are sending ours in on Thursday and I am worried we will end up at CSC. I know it is a wait either way but this seems excessive for those already at 8 months, and now have to wait even longer.

When I sent my app in in September California was the place to be and Vermont was the place to avoid. So you just have to go with the flow. Even if I had the choice I would have sent the app to California at the time, and now look where we are. :help:

Where is this info posted at??
I'm feeling sad and anxious because I plan on submitting the I-129F this week and this news isn't good at all.

Don't get too discouraged, when I submitted the I-129F in September everyone at that time was being approved very quickly, and look at us now. Maybe it will turn the other way for you.

ChinaK1 Visa P3 Shortcut

Rob,

I see you have your interview date.  So I want to confirm that you were able to use website to schedule interview once you know P3 had been sent.  I have been trying to schedule interview for the past 3 days and website keeps displaying "There are currently no appointments available." Did you ever see this message?  I'll keep trying.

I can't say for sure, but it might be because June is booked. I'm not sure when they open up July but I would keep checking, it has to be soon. When we booked at the end of May we could only see the month of June everything else was grayed out.

So since this is the first week of the month I would think they would open up July very soon.

Yes, we were able to book once things were in progress. :)

ChinaK1 Visa P3 Shortcut

So we received our packet 3 over the weekend.

Since we already knew what was coming, we are able to respond immediately.

I was able to give her some help over the phone since I already knew what the P3 checklist looked like thanks to the Johnson's post. :)

I asked her to take some pictures of what she's sending back, maybe that will also help someone later.

ChinaK1 Visa P3 Shortcut

Hi, Im Mrs. Johnson.tongue.png  Mr Johnson is sleepingsleep.png

We think the shortcut is pretty cool! The only problem is that this checklist is not on the consulate website or DOS website. And these papers I received in P3 is not A4 size paper. It's shorter and widther. So you know...

Anyway to get the actual measurements? Is it just plain white paper?

Just the post itself helps, she can at least prepare the envelope and contents.

Thanks a million!!!

ChinaK1 Visa P3 Shortcut

So here I am doing my homework, :)

So I read the Wiki article you wrote about the P3 Shortcut, and she is working on the DS-230 Part 1, and the OF-169.

I plan to start calling the DOS everyday to see when our packet is sent out.

My question is that I asked one of the most recent K-1 applicants who received the P3 from Guangzhou, and he said they asked for the photographs and a copy of the information page from the Beneficiaries passport. Is that new? If we do the shortcut should I include those just in case?

Also why are the GUZ IV Forms mentioned in the wiki? Those are the forms that have to be submitted right before the interview, correct? Is that just a heads up to prepare those?

Thanks for all your help!

ChinaDocument intake day and Document organization for GZ

re: doc organization.  any form set - have that by itself - they gonna ask for that FAST.

the piles of relationship evidence, have that by itself also .  try to make sure it's bendable and will fit through a 2 inch curved slit thingie ....

IMO, a plastic, quasi-see-through accordian file (A-Z type) can be perfect to carry in.

Ahh ha!

Yes, I have the accordian style frosted see-though file organizer. Also I have all the relationship evidence together in a 3-hole report style binder with a see-through cover, Its the flexible kind with the flat bendy tabs not rings, and It's somewhere around 3/8 inches (9mm) thick, maybe a bit less. I have the photos in flat sheets that are made to go into a 3 hole binder so everything is in one package.

In the binder the relationship evidence is sectioned into Photos,Travel tickets/receipts, Skype Chats, and then Cards/Emails.

If they ask for one piece of evidence they'll get it all. Also the report binder fits perfectly in the back of the organizer. I placed the photos in the front of the binder and flipped it backwards so the photos show through the back of the organizer.

What I'll do is create a packet with all the documents in order that they appear on the checklist and clip them all together and put the checklist on the top. Then I'll have a copy of everything in the organizer.

We are on the same page!

ya - passport handover (USCitizen's) ...

have an evolution of relationship letter folded lengthwise, slipped INTO the USCitizen's passport,

give to the ViceConsul through the slit in the window the first 10 seconds after the interview starts.

Already written!

It took quite a while to write. I put as much information in as few words as possible. Even bolded the text for the key points. That way if they just glance at the letter, the most important information will jump out at them.

ChinaDocument intake day and Document organization for GZ

if you want to go in, get an appointment via American Citizen Services, but you'll be going in PRIOR to her appointment day.

You could (for example) bring all of her documents, and ask pointed questions about particular line items on forms you have doubts on.

It's not done that often, but it is done.

Yeah I think I know what you're saying and I was kind of planning on showing my face when we turned in the documents, but I think we'll be fine.

I'm confident in our documents and everything we have prepared, and her communication skills are excellent, so she can do great by herself.

She can at least take my passport and hand it in with her own, even if they refuse it, it will show them that I'm there.

no, since 19 March 2013 it's no longer a 2 day event.

doc intake and interview are all on same day, since 19 March 2013.

Thanks, yeah this makes sense.

So the petitioner can't assist with turning in the paperwork?

Before I thought we could go in on doc intake day.

Darnell thanks for being knowledgeable!

It is my understanding that Guz does the Document Intake and the Interview BOTH on the Same day, now! You would be a lucky one if they ask to look at any Proof you bring to the Interview ..also.They tend to make their decision before you even arrive at the Interview.

And how do you know this?

ChinaDocument intake day and Document organization for GZ

So is there still a document intake day? I didn't see it on any of the instructions? If not what's the procedure now?

Also I'm preparing a file organizer with all the documents. Will they ask for each document one by one?

Or should I put everything in one file folder and hand it in as a packet?

Just trying to be prepared an organized!

which form was it?

My guess is the cover letter, which says the consulate can begin to process your fiancee visa case now.

Just a guess but thanks to your mentioning I'll also bring everything that's left from P3 to my medical exam tomorrow. Big big thanks

It was indeed the packet 3 cover letter. Maybe its to make sure you've received it before having the exam.

I'm not sure exactly, she just said they asked for something that was in packet 3 and she was glad she brought those papers with her.

I don't know if they took the form or if they just had to look at it.

She's without internet until the weekend. But I'll try to find out more information when she's back online, its kind of difficult to discuss specifics over the phone.

Okey. Another girl who just past the interview told me she was turned away when she forgot to bring the email. Hopefully you are right so I can have my fiancé to do it now.

Just to follow up on this...

Lili went to the exam today, she said it wasn't the appointment letter from the website or email they asked her for, but another form that was included in packet 3.

So we are fortunate she received it before going for the exam.

My fiancé never married either but he had his notarized. I think you can find out from the guangzhou consulate website p4 instructions.

Yes I guess there is an official paper from the Chinese government that states that you are single. I guess some employers require it and also if you get married and are from different provinces. So since she can get that at the same place as the translations, she will also get that. Even though its not asked for on the P4 instructions specifically, it would be good to have.

Rob & LiliMaleChina2013-05-30 21:53:00
ChinaDidn't get Mail from GUZ

Oops, I mean notarized. Her birth certificate, police clearance and single status. All those need to be notarized

They are both originals from the government so I assume they are official. If you're talking about the translations she will have them completed at the notary (gong zheng chu). What's needed for the single status? I haven't read that's it necessary as she's never been married.

Great. I told my fiancé to give a try on Monday morning. Also, I found a slot open on June 13th so I take it. Hopefully we can get the p3 then p4 by then. Did you get all the paperwork notified?

I don't know what you mean by notified, you mean notarized? I don't think there's anything that needs to be notarized anymore.

I can asked her to call tonight, we usually talk after 8:30. She just called yesterday to find out if she needed an appointment (which you don't, not in GZ anyway). Also they may have told her over the phone what's needed and she just didn't mention it. I'll try to find out for you. smile.png

She was only asked to bring 5 pictures, her passport, and the appointment letter. They didn't mention anything about the email from the consulate.

So i don't think its needed for the medical exam.

Consulate sent me an email on 21st stating they sent the p3 out already but till today he hasn't received yet. He is in Beijing and it has been 9 days. Ask a few girls almost same p2 day and it seems nobody has received yet. You guys are smart to schedule first because all June appointments are taken. I have to wait till July open up. Pls let me know if your fiancée can do the medical exam without the email. Thanks.

From what I understand you just have to have the appointment letter which we have. I can let you know next week how that goes.

It's a K1, just waiting on packet 3.

Don't expect too much from the Consulate email. Each time I've received a reply it doesn't really fit our situation. I think they just have canned responses they copy and paste as a reply. I didn't really know what was going on until I spoke with the DOS and they were very helpful. I just asked the lady at DOS my status and she said " oh yes, they received your email last week and sent out another packet." I didn't tell her anything and she knew that from the notes on our file.
