Sept 6 filer here... we just got our NOA2 today. I did contact my senator (Feinstein), but only got a form letter back from her saying her office could not help us because they only expedite for "emergency purposes" (which, by the way, I had not even asked for expedition, just for her to make a call and get some fairness down at CSC). So, no thanks to my legislator... but big thanks to all of those Sept filers et al who were able to spur their legislators to call CSC and light a fire under their butts.
Cheers,
-josh

Awesome, Congratulations to you!!!!

So I am wondering if anyone has a reasonable estimate for us CSC September filers? I mean some of us are fighting back and trying to make noise. But is by the end of May a reasonable expectation? For me the frustration is not just the wait, its the unknown factor. So disallowing those few who take who are processed quickly or those who seem to take longer, do we have an expectation even?

I would be happy even if someone told me i had to wait until June, at least i would know there's an end. Right now it doesn't seem like it's ever going to happen.

But I am trying to use the power of positive thinking :o

Glad for anyone from Vermont getting approvals. Meanwhile, it looks like six days without any approvals from CSC. Even with one or two per day there's a little hope. :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2012 filers

OK my fellow CSC September filers, how often do you get to visit with you fiance(e)?

My last visit was in January. At the time, I was expecting to obtain the NOA2 during the second half of February. That would have given us March (and maybe April) for the embassy part of the process with the visa granted by then end of April. Then, I could bring her to me in May. That was the plan. Now, of course, who knows?

But, now there is a new problem. Should we just wait, or should I arrange for another visit? For us, this is not a trivial matter. To visit her in Uzbekistan, I need a visa which typically takes about two months to obtain. And, to obtain the visa I need evidence of paid round trip airfare. So, a tourist visa for me is not a trivial issue in terms of time and expense.

If we September folks are certain that it will not be until next September for our visa approval, then I would arrange for my next visit right now. But, there is no certainty. Murphy's Law (the most powerful force in the universe) would guarantee that NOA2 would occur once I pay for my airfare and tourist visa (unless, of course, I try to use this system as a way of speeding up the NOA2's arrival).

It's the any day now nature that complicates this. Do we wait, potentially a year or more, before we are together again? Or, do we plan for me to visit anyway?

Any of you face a similar quandary? What are you doing?

I/we are in the same situation. I was trying to visit every 3 months and just came back March 4. I wasn't planning on returning until the interview is scheduled. For now, I think my only choice is to sit and wait. I only have so much vacation time and resources to visit. Maybe if it takes too long I can have an extended stay and she can come back on the plane with me, just trying to look at the bright side.

Sure if the amount of time gets too crazy I will go back and visit regardless.

Woah guys! Try to keep positive! Remember that not everyone applying for the visa is a member on visa journey, there will have been plenty of approvals that we don't know about. We've had a really good few weeks with lots of members approved and positive stories to read. Don't lose faith.

I'm pretty set on trying to do squeeze in another trip to see my fiancé...if things are tough then just do what you have to to try and better the waiting time. The time WILL pass. There's nothing we can do about the system an we can't assume to know what's going on, so why get add stress to the process getting caught up about it.

Personally, reading the posts of frustration only make me feel worse, I much prefer the messages of support from everyone going through the same process as me, and congratulating them when they hear news. So keep it positive guys! We'll get there! And we can all look forward to a summer of love in the USA :)

I totally agree with this. Each approval for someone else means that we're that much closer, so we should be excited for them. Also fretting over it too much takes away from the excitement of planning to be together and only causes negativity. Right now we just take each day as we always have, knowing that the approval will come. Of course I want her here as soon as possible, but there are also moments now to enjoy.

Sure I'll place my phone call sometime soon, and do some things to follow up when i can, but bashing my head against the wall isn't going to solve anything. Even a few weeks longer pales in comparison to having someone with you for the rest of your life.

Hey Guys!
Sometimes I feel down too, especially when I read 'horror' stories written by people who had very bad experience with the system. So I decided to stop reading them, it's no help for me at all... and does not shorten the waiting time either. Oh, and it just slightly pisses off my fiance when I mention some of the stories.. :) I just hope that everything will go smoothly.
I wish everyone a nice weekend!!!! :)

Yeah, people post the horror stories much more often than those who have success. I like to search for the word "approved" since those are the inspirational ones. :)

Keep the faith!

I did some calculations using the timeline data and its around 6 months no matter how you slice it. So indeed it looks like Mid-March April especially since my date is later in the month. But I am ready to celebrate with everyone here, when the September approvals start rolling in!

Hey everyone I wanted to post this here, but feel free to pass along to other threads.

After hearing all of the "hub-bub" about Dream Act petitions getting preference, adjudication officers being "pulled" from other areas for processing, CSC not processing anything, etc., etc., etc.. Even my own failed attempts to call the CSC and receiving conflicting and nonsense information. One sweet girl, obviously misunderstanding something, told me that the service centers count the first month of the process as zero month.. :bonk: Huh??? I asked her if the IRS would let me have a zero month.. So I wrote both my Senator and Congressman. Wanted to "get it from the horses mouth" so to speak. Anyway, today I received a call and received what I would call reliable information (my Senators Immigration Specialist). So.. here it is..

1) CSC and VSC are processing as quickly as possible. No adjudication officers were "pulled" from processing K1 or other areas to process Dream Act petitions. Rather more adjudication officers were "brought in" from other resources.
2) Expect 5 to 7 months in the processing time. Typically no less and "hopefully" no longer. But at the end of a "full" 5 months contact someone to find out your status.. (i.e., CSC, VSC, Senator, Congressman, God.. LOL)
3) This puts Sept K1's at Mid February or March for NOA2. So we should be expecting notifications sometime around that time.
4) As always read everything thoroughly and "with a grain of salt".. even what I am telling you... check it out thoroughly and for everyone's benefit don't push propaganda or false information.

I sure hope this helps OR at minimum puts minds to rest knowing that the machine - be it slower than anyone wants - is still functioning.

As always... GOOD LUCK!! Let everyone know when you get your NOA2.

Sorry for the redundancy. I pressed a combination of buttons writing the first and everything disappeared.. If able please delete the first. Thanks!

It's good to have some reasonable people with reasonable explanations. I hate the threads that just spread the panic and fear. Patience is definitely key in the process...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSO CALLED RED FLAGS Im worried about
We also have some red flags, age difference being one of them.

First of all stop worrying. :)

If you ask these types of questions it just going to cause you more worry. Its possible it may not even come up in the interview and if it does just be prepared to answer honestly and from the heart. Have faith that they will see the truth in your words. If you are convinced of the relationship then have faith that it will work out.

Most importantly focus on the things that you can control. Figure out all the documentation you need, collect the evidence for the relationship, get to know each other so well that you can answer any question that might be asked. Those things you can control and focusing on them will make you feel more confident.

Also focus on all the good things about your relationship, enjoy it, be happy. Things will work out for you if you focus on the right things. Also pay no mind to others opinions of your relationship, they don't know what your relationship is like and what it means to you.

Stay positive, get excited for the future, be happy!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDating Service/Criminal History/Income ?'s

Many people have met their fiance(e) or spouse on dating websites. I think its pretty much an every day occurrence. The dating websites are only an introduction and are much different than a marriage broker.

Personally, I have shared just about everything i possibly could with my fiancee. Honesty is absolutely the best policy.

Especially when dealing with the immigration there's no way I want to try to hide information from them or do anything else to make my actions questionable. If we run into trouble I don't want it to be because I tried to hide something. Having said that, I wouldn't volunteer information they didn't ask for, but I would be honest with my potential life mate about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMore than sufficient Income for I-134, do i need other assets?

No. If your income more than meets the requirement, then no assets need to be listed. You can simply leave that section of the I-134 blank.

Awesome! that makes life much easier...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMore than sufficient Income for I-134, do i need other assets?

So I have more than sufficient income to show support my fiancee, and can supply the tax documents to support it.

Do I need to show other assets?

If list my bank account information, do I have to show documentation from the bank?

Also what about life insurance, retirement savings, etc.

Just want to keep it as simple as possible.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBest way to proof your relationship

Would it seem odd that I only include one boarding pass from my returning flight from my last visit? We honestly never thought to keep any of our boarding passes. We will include our past itinerarys even if they do not count as proof.

The whole purpose of the boarding passes is to show that you sat next to each other, showing that you met. I'm not sure if that would be sufficient.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBest way to proof your relationship

I'm sorry.  I'm really having some kind of a mental block or something about editing the Skype logs.

I like the idea of one page of Skype logs per month, so the whole thing isn't more than 24 pages, but what should I send?  Sample chats?  Every notice of every time we talked on Skype (e.g. the log that says ****call from Melanie**** and *****call duration 01:45:34*****) or a mixture of that?  Right now, our two years of logs is over 600 pages.

I know I am over thinking this and I need some kind of idea of what they are looking for, you know?  :-(

Don't over think it. You just need to show that you had contact with each other, it doesn't even have to all flow together. Just include a random sampling of your conversations, maybe something where you talk about your future plans or feelings for each other something like that. Most likely they're just going to glance at it and then put it back in the folder. Keep simplicity and organization in mind, more is not necessarily better.

Sorry one more question. The photos that we have were taken with our phones, so how can the photos be time stamped? I have written the dates and location on the back.  Is that not good enough?

Hi thanks for your reply it helps a lot to me and right now. Btw what if his vacation 2 years ago here we didnt use hotel because we only stay at our own houses?

Thank you for reply

Thanks for reply and i hope it works for us

I would be planning another visit, the proof is the most important. Even plan to fly somewhere so you have the boarding passes, or train tickets with seats together with your names on it. You have to meet within 2 years, i would make sure you have proof of that.

Rob & LiliMaleChina2013-05-09 09:17:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBest way to proof your relationship

Just keep the story as simple as possible. You don't have to prove how in love you are, just basic details on how you met. You can include a evolution or relationship letter, but simple and to the point is best. Think of it as a legal process and its more important to provide the evidence they ask for and complete the documents completely and correctly.

You don't have to include 600 pages of chats and emails, you don't want to weigh your application down with paper. I think I included maybe 20-30 pages of Skype chats. I included 9-12 photos and labeled them with the place taken and the date. Also included Boarding passes for the flights we took together as proof of having met.

I didn't want to make our application cumbersome to go through. Just kept everything minimal and made sure everything was labeled and organized very well. Also make sure everything is signed, especially make sure her signatures are originals.

That's the way I did it and we received our NOA2 with no requests for more evidence!

The one thing I wished I would have done differently is include the evolution or relationship letter. Some people say its good to have so when the consulate receives the package it gives them more details.

Rob & LiliMaleChina2013-05-09 08:20:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOur plan. Good or bad?

Consider the fact that many others have to wait months to see each other, endure long flights, and incur a lot of expense just to be with the one we love. You are lucky to live so close even though you are separated by a border and have to wait some time to see each other.

It also seems that the ones that try to manipulate the rules, or skirt around them, are the ones who have trouble in the end.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk1 visa an length of relationship...

We only knew each other a short time before we submitted the paperwork and it never came up...

Having met in the last two years, lots of evidence, and the petitioners ability to financially support the beneficiary are what's most important.

Keep in mind that more than 90% of K-1 visas are approved worldwide. You just need to have your details together and have a legitimate relationship.

We have already prepared the proof of ongoing relationship. so now We are just a bit confused if we should pass it as well.

Does most of you guys here didn't pass the 'proof of on going relationaship" along with the I-129F packet?

http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

Its called front loading. Its a good idea to include more information than less within reason. I included enough that we weren't even ask for more proof at the interview. Copies of a few photos, boarding passes, train tickets, things like that will go a long way.

I am nearing my last payment of the initial 90 day period (the theoretical EAD that all K1's have smile.gif discussed in many previous posts.

I was told by EI that my claim goes on hold at that time until I can provide proof of the real EAD or Green card. Has anyone been through this recently and did you simply fax them or give them a call and mail it to get things started again?

I JUST got the email indicating EAD card production was ordered, so I won't have much of a gap! Yippee

If you call the Belleville office of Service Canada (they handle international claims) at 877-486-1650, they will tell you what to fax in.

I was thrilled when I came across this post. I had no idea that one could carry over Canada EI out of the country. Mind you I had only one week left on an existing claim, but every penny counts and when I got my EAD, I sent all my good info to Service Canada to resume my claim and I get my final deposit on Monday. What a treat!

Is it necessary to note one's A# on every single piece of evidence submitted or is it just prudent. Instructions suggest to submit "unalterted" copies. Would writing the A# be considered "altering"?
