You will need NOA2 to get a Japanese police certificate.

The fee is $131 for K-1. $400 is for CR1/IR1 visa applicants.
According to the website of the US embassy Moscow, the applicant should contact the embassy for interview rescheduling.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHELP!!! Embassy Interview... Did we pass or no???
I am pretty sure she will receive her visa in a day or two.
The consular I interviewed with didn't really clearify if I was approved or not.
But in the end, he said I will receive my passport and the yellow envelope in a week, and I did two days later.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionObtain U.S. Passport on K1 Visa.
I am assuming your fiance will keep her maiden name in Japan, but will officially use your surname in the US?
If so, she should go to a local Japanese embassy in the US to put your surname in parenthesis on her passport.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionStudent Visa?
Whatever your plan is, the chance of having F-1 visa granted would be tough unless she provides very strong ties to the home country, especially when she has already denied for the visitor visa twice. Good luck.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionStudent Visa?
Non-immigrant visas including student visas like F-1 and J-1 are issued on the assumption that applicants will not immigrate to the US. They have to show the intention of coming back to their home country once the education in the US is done. Like Canadian wife said, even the sole reason for studying in the US is improvement of her English skills, there is the fact that your mother already filed the immigrant petition for her and it might look to the consular that she has intention to immigrate to the US. I am not sure if the visa application will be refused, but you need to know there is a high risk.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionX-ray???
What I was told by a consulate officer was that you won't need it at POE unless you are entering the US from Hawaii or Guam.
I packed my x-ray in the check-in bag and had no problem.

Having a joint sponsor and other financial evidence, I am sure you will be fine.
We provided only our joint sponsor's I-864, but the consular didn't ask us any financial question at all.
They mostly care if your relationship is real or not.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSome Questions in regards to the US Embassy in Tokyo
1. She needs to have her interview by the time I-129F expires. The expiration date is on the NOA2.
2. The exam consisted of a chest x-ray, blood test, and palpation, percussion and auscultation by a doctor when I had my physical exam at Tokyo British Clinic. It was very quick and I think it took no more than 30 minutes. Oh, vaccination can be added to the list if she needs any.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI'm worried - Tokyo K-1 - Needed Police Certification - getting it back in time.
You can call their switchboard and try to have them connect your line to the visa section. I am not sure if they will, but it's worth trying (and it doesn't cost $20). Also, they have the immigrant visa status check system on their website. You might be able to see if your I-129F is extended properly.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCorrecting information
Hi,

You don't have to provide the number to the embassy. They will assign you a new A number upon approval. I also had an A number and didn't provide it on my immigration papers, but I faced no problem during the whole visa process. Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-130 filled by petitioner at Tokyo Embassy
We had the same situation. My husband (USC) returned to the US a month before my final interview and moved to a different place from what was listed on all of the immigration papers, but we didn't report the address change to the embassy. Instead, we filed I-865 (sponsor's address change) after I had moved to the US. As long as your wife provides the right address you will live at in the US at the time of her final interview, USCIS will mail her GC to the address regardless of the addresses listed on the I-130, G-325, DS-230, etc.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa Name?!?
QUOTE (RoyaleT @ Sep 26 2009, 12:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thanks, redglasses, atleast i know what the problem is. Now anyone knowing how it rectify it.

In the passport, the surname column is blank, given name column has full name.
In the visa, the surname column has full name, given name has FNU.

Correct name has both first name and a surname. How to rectify it before i leave for U.S?

I am not 100% sure about the process, but first go fix the name on your passport at wherever you got it.
Then request for correction of your name on the visa at the US embassy.
redglassesFemaleJapan2009-09-26 13:02:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa Name?!?
FNU stands for First Name Unknown.

Check your first and last names on your passport.
It is possible the names on the visa were put in according to the names on the passport.

Try googling "FNU visa." There seems to be a lot of people having the same issue.
I would correct the name discrepancy at the US embassy before moving to the US.
It sounds you would have hard time getting a DL if the given name is FNU.
