I call them today and the lady told that they don't have my case yet

The operator said it takes 30 business days after they receive the case from USCIS. I hope your case will arrive at NVC soon!

One of my friend's file arrived on April 25, and she got case number and other numbers on May 26.

NVC has been reducing the backlog since most applicants who applied from Feb to June are done with the NVC stage, correct?

I noticed that it took 5 weeks to get a case number 2-3 months ago, but now we can get a case number in 4 weeks.

Glad to know that! My husband has not called NVC yet, since it has been only 3weeks and 3days since NOA2.

I hope all of people here will finish this annoying and long visa stuff soon:)

I know I should look at NVC April board, but if someone here know about I-864 plz tell me. I started checking the next stage and Im just wondering how we can find a poverty line. I googled poverty line 2013 and that's it? Or NVC will tell us the amount of the poverty line? We dont need a joint sponsor if we get more than 125% of poverty line right? But I dont know the exact amount of that poverty line.

Thought I'd try my luck sooner and got through after a 25 minute wait on hold. Our case was received and scanned into the system today :D spoke to Gus this time, possibly the nicest man in the universe.

Hey, do you mean you got NVC case number or something:)?
Since we received an approval letter from USCIS, we have not done anything. But maybe it's better to contact NVC for getting a case number after few weeks:)?

Approved!

My son and I had a high five :)

I got the letter in the mail today, BUT the online status was never updated. The letter says that my husband was approved April 11th. Gee- COULD they have updated it and saved me the stress of the past 5 days? Also, the 129F (K3) as approved as well. Got both the letters at the same time. I'll just go with the I-130 route I guess.

People at the VSC, that's good news. It looks like they are moving on the approvals...and maybe some other people were approved at the VSC and don't even know it.

NOA 1:  10/1
NOA 2:  4/11

Your online status has not changed, but how about USCIS account? I mean maybe we can check our last update data on "my portfolio " page after log in. Has it not changed yet as well?

So I called USCIS today and I did file a service request. I talked to the first person on the phone (tier 1) and the representative did it for me. She just asked me the normal info/ questions and confirmed that I was in fact out of processing time (my priority date is 10/1). There was no mention of waiting 60 days after the transfer or anything. She did it and gave me a reference number

I have no idea if the service request will make any difference, but hey, I tried. Can't hurt. Seems it did work for some people in the September group.

Heyyy, thank you so much for sharing:)!
Service request sounds great. I hope your case will be approved soon.
I told my husband about your story n he said he will try it too. Our PD is Oct7.

I have not heard from USCIS yet today. Please USCIS! Go go go!

It took longer than I had expected, but it's better than never!   :)

I hope this week is going to be a great week for us!  Come on NSC, TSC, and VSC!  Drink lots of coffee and work harder!

Congratulations! Finally!

I heard nothing from them today, and I do hate USCIS!

So strange because anyone who can count can see we are over the average. So annoying! I may call anyway since I'm on vacation this week- just to see what they say.

I knowww. I was shocked when I heard about this.
Plz share what they will tell you after you call them.
And have a wonderful vacation!

I am going to visit my husband in LA from this weekend:)

I hope so too! I know we have a small sample size here, but it really has seemed slow lately. Hoping for this week to better! Debating whether I should call for a service request since I'm now 6 months 2 weeks since NOA1 (obviously over the stated times)....but not sure if it's worth it because I still have 23 days to wait out of the 60 from the transfer.

When my husband talked to USCIS, they said we have not waited over the average yet:'(

My husband called USCIS today from LA n he told them around our numbers people get NOA2 n even late of Oct filers are approved. But tgey told him it's just taking time.

I wanna cry. They are so unfair!

Also, my husband insisted that the avarage 5months(NSC) has passed, but they said it doesnt.
It was so quick they got $420 from us but after getting money their working speed has been so slow.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 Questions
Hello,

These might be simple questions and I might sound like an idiot, but I want to be sure if I'm filling this form out correct or not. We've got our first interview at the US Embassy in Tokyo to submit the I-130, G-325, and I-864 forms in 3 weeks.

Background: I'm a US citizen and my wife is Japanese. We are both living in Japan. I'm sponsoring my wife and my father will be the joint sponsor. We will relocate to my parents home in the US.

I read that if your current income is from employment overseas, it'll won't be of use to me, so with that said I'm using my current savings(in Japan) as assets which is just over the minimum requirements. In case that's not enough to satisfy the requirments, my father will be the joint sponsor. Any advice on how I should fill out some of the questions on the I-864 form?

1. Which should I tick on question #1. (A) I'm the petitioner or (E) I'm the first on two sponsors.

2. Because we plan to live with my parents when we arrive in the States, should I put my parents address for question # 12(mailing address) and #13(Place of Residence) or put my current overseas address?

I know these seem like easy questions to answer, but I want to be sure. Your help would be much appreciated. A big thanks in advance.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-230 (K-1) Help!!!
Thank both of you for advice. For some reason I totally forgot about the option of handwriting and if the form says MM-YYYY that should be just enough information...I hope! (But I still wonder why it didn't let me type so...) Anyways, I'm going to attach another sheet and write down just MM-YYYY on it, that's the best I can do.

Thank you!!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-230 (K-1) Help!!!
At Question 25, are we supposed to type in "mm-dd-yyyy" or "mm-yyyy"???
I tried to type in "mm-yyyy" as the list says to write as "FROM/TO (mm-yyyy)", but when I did so an error occured and I was told to give specific days.

I wouldn't be so confused if I remembered all the dates of visits to the U.S, but a few years ago my passport was renewed and I don't have my old passport with me anymore...so I can't check all the exact days of entering and leaving the U.S.

But I've definitely visited the States more than 5 times so I'm going to need another sheet to list all and attach, and I wondered if I could just write "mm-yyyy" on the sheet since I can probably recall the months of my visits if I do my best... or should I still write "mm-dd-yyyy" even if I know that those days may not be so accurate???

Does anyone know what I should do???
any help will be appreciated...thank you.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Slowing/canceling NVC process?
Is it possible to postpone or cancel the IR visa at the NVC stage and still travel to the US?

We've been married over 20 years. I'm the USC, my husband is Japanese. We've already passed the USCIS stage and are waiting to hear from the NVC, but some things have come up making it better for us to NOT continue the process for a year, maybe two. However, we'd still like to be able to go to the US for shorter periods until we're ready to take up the IR-1 process again.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this in general? Can anyone answer these questions:

1. Can we just postpone responding to the NVC? For how long?
2. Is there a formal process for postponing?
2. While the process is pending, can my husband travel to the US on a tourist or business visa?
3. Is is possible to cancel the process? We'd rather not do this, but if it's necessary, we can.

Also, if I'm missing something, please explain.

Thanks for any and all information the VJ group can give. You've been a huge help so far.
