BUT at the time when the NVC and embassy are processing the data they need to see that you can still support the person. that is why you need employment letters that say you are currently employeed and making XXX money. so you probably need a joint sponsor if you get laid off and are no longer meeting the requirement. i am not sure about this, but i think it would be safer to get another sponsor to help.	tokyo.lovers	Female	Japan	2010-06-26 21:40:00

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Japanese documents (koseki)	i had a koseki at first. and i translated it myself. i just put at the top of the translation: "Family Registrar/Birth Certification" the tokyo embassy knows what it is, so it's no problem. later i found out there IS an actual birth certificate form. we got one for our NVC submission. so all that talk about there not being a birth form is not true. either way, as long as you translate the top to say birth cert. it's fine. but ask some of the actual japanese members, like LA&MA what form she used. also the tokyo embassy website may have some translation templates you can download. check it out.	tokyo.lovers	Female	Japan	2010-06-29 02:38:00

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	how	like others say, contact a congressman or senator. call the uscis and ask what is up. the president is pretty much beyond all contact. even if you email the official email, it would be some underling who would look at it and send an autoreply. contact your local newspapers, and local offices of ABC. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Thoughts on this whole process	the process needs reform. the problem comes from people who fake marriage to get the GC. i think it used to be much easier long ago, so they made it harder and harder. one way around waiting months and months is to come in on the tourist visa, marry in the usa, then submit all the documents. then you can stay while it gets processed. lots of people do that, and very rarely are they denied a visa. people can come and go freely in and out of the usa from certain countries as tourists, but once you are not a tourist they make you jump through hoops. it's so long and hard. i hope it gets better some day....	tokyo.lovers	Female	Japan	2010-07-17 01:35:00
