I can answer a couple of your questions as I am also living overseas and filed two months ago. If you read the instructions for the I-129F form, it states that if you are living outside the US then you should file with the service center that covers your last address where you lived in the US. Before I moved to Japan I was in Ohio so I filed with the Nebraska Service Center (even though NSC and TSC are all being forwarded to California you should still file where they tell you to) It's also fine to use a relatives address in the US but I don't think it's too difficult to change once you have moved and settled somewhere.

About the income, you can get a co-sponser if you know someone who would be willing to sponser you on the I-134 (I think) This eliminates your gap when you move. But if you have money in the bank, a new job and tax returns, it shouldn't be a problem.

Alright, as it turned out we had an RFE... Although we included my fiancés orders to Germany they considered that as not enough of a proof. So now to my actual question. My fiancé is currently deployed to Kuwait until September which means I will have to send in the evidence if we don't wanna take a detour over Kuwait. Can I as the benificiary send in evidence or does the petitioner have to do it??? Thank you for your answers.

What part did you call? I called to change my address and got the standard 6 month responce and then I called for and "RFE" and was told I had been approved 2 weeks earlier.


I called for that RFE, too. I don't know, I'm kinda scared that if I keep calling for an RFE, they will really give me one....

Alright, I'm sure this topic has been started several times, but I need sort of a checklist.
We received NOA1 on Februray 22nd. My finacé will be in Kuwait from May on, so I just wanna make sure he can send all the documents we will need to me already so that I can send them to the CSC once they ask for it.
Is there anything else besides the tax returns we will need from him?? Or will the rest be just up to me? Because I'm pretty sure I got everything together what I need...

2) The checks are not a problem. The middle name is not a problem.

3) Yes, wait one more week.

The problem is calling USCIS, they may not be able or willing to locate a missing package that could be missing for many reasons.

Your Q actually remind me of my case. My Fiance send the packet to the wrong P.O Box and the post office returned back the packet 3 weeks after that. I'm not sure what went wrong with your packet but you shouldn't think so much. Just chill :whistle:

I always check this VJ website and always hope everyone will be happy wiz fiance or fiancee soon :)

My fiance sent I-129F to California service center on Feb.12th and we know CSC got our papers wiz I-129F already.

but.. his check isnt cashed yet and still don get NOA1 ...

He called CSC on Feb.25th and was told they got our I-129F so we gotta wait one more week and if we still don get NOA1 then call CSC again..

I don know why it s taking soooooooo long to cash his check and send us NOA1 ...

I really wanna get married him as soon as I can.. miss him so much..

Im just worried if CSC is gonna say same thing to us when he call them again... sometimes feel like we wont be able to get fiance visa... :(

He sent it wiz delivery confirmation thats why he could check on USPS website that our I-129F got to destination..
and also he was told USCIS got our packet when he called them..

Thats why I don understand why its taking so long to cash his check after they got our packet.. :crying:

NOA1 came in the mail at my parent's house in FL. I guess USCIS didn't read the part in the form that stated I was military currently overseas and didn't send to the address listed. No big deal since the fam has a scanner. Anyway, good to know that paperwork is in hand.

Thanks. I had to so a little photoshop work on the check notice that was scanned in through my online account, but finally was able to make out my receit number and it worked on the USCIS Web site. :thumbs:

Filed my K-1 Visa about 10 business days ago and just got the check cashed notice from my bank today. Oddly enough, I haven't gotten my NOA1. I know there's an issue with the timelines for NOA1 right now, but wanted to rant a little since it's about all I can do. Anyway ... just thought I'd share in case anyone is in the same boat. I hope this is normal. Still early in the process, so I'm not breaking down totally yet. :whistle:

Yes, I would give them a call. The H1-B craze may be dying down a little as the USCIS said in a press release that everything will settle by June. Not sure if it's effecting April filers more, but I got my NOA1 after about 10 days and filed in May. Could be a fluke because many things in the government depend primarily on who is processing your paperwork (I'm US military and that's usually the case when we try to track down late documents).

Seems hit or miss with us May filers. I was a little worried myself until the bank cleared my check which gave me a chance to find everything. Just keep calling until you get some help.

Lots of checks sometimes take a while to get through the system depending on your bank. I just happen to live in Japan and use a US bank that uses new systems for sending check data back within a week. Last bank I had took a month for the check to travel through the system.

Not sure if that's the case, but like any workplace, there's always that person you want to send something to and always someone you don't. I hope you'll get approved soon, so hang in there!

Why not sign up for Verizon or Skype (Verizon through MSN is something like 1.9 cents a minute anywhere)? You can still call and it keeps a downloadable record on your account. If your spouse has a PC, you can call using that and record the conversation (it's high tech and depends on the country your spouse is in, but it's effective).

I would suggest that you file now if you are looking at getting married in January. That's about six months off ... and the average (no hickups) times to get this all done is within 6-9 months.

If you look through the site, you'll find a wealth of information to help you get started. The example forms are very useful for filing your paperwork. Just follow that and you'll be fine. It got me off to a good start.

Hello everyone. I am a newbie here and this is my first post.

I finally found "July 2009 Filers (VSC)" post kicking.gif

I live in Tokyo and my fiance lives in Rhodeisland. We have been apart since 24 Jul...not so long yet, but I have already been frustrated. I thought I won't be able to move there by Thanksgiving...so I just bought a round trip ticket for that.

My NOA1 date is 29 Jul 09...it seems that some of you from July filers started getting NOA2! Congratulations for those of you who got NOA2 already!! I wish the rest of you (including me) would get NOA2 soon!
