I forgot to add amir to our list and welcome him as a fellow TSC Loser®!!

I'm also taking the liberty of deleting the "Date of I-751" column. Given that people use different means of delivery, the date the I-751 was sent to TSC is not of much importance, and particularly at our stage of the game -- the NOA1 date is the one that counts. If anyone objects, it'd be no big deal to add it back. It's not like this list changes very often.

Hi all,

I am not an active member of this website, although I check the forums and benefit from your postings from time to time. Like you, I am waiting on my wife's 10-year GC to arrive in mail. I could not resist sharing a recent response I received from TSC in mail regarding a service request I filed because of my case being outside the normal processing time.

My dates are as follows: NOA: 2/13/2007, Biometrics: 3/16/2007, absolutely no action since then...

I got this reply about 6 weeks after I opened my service request by the way!

Read and enjoy!

"Date: Nov. 19, 2007

Case type: I751
Filing date: 2/13/2007
Type of service: Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this request is:

Our review indicates that this case is actually within our current processing time. Your I-751 application is ready for review selection. We regret any misunderstanding. If you do not receive a decision or notice of other action within our current processing time, check our website for an update or call customer service at the number provided below."

Isn't that insane?! mad.gif This is while their website gives a processing time of April!! Clearly that date is bogus and it's only there to save their face I guess! I honestly think they have a number of letter templates and they just pick one randomly without looking at the request, fill out the blanks and mail it. Interestingly they also wait until the 6 weeks wait time reaches its end so you don't send any more service requests in the mean time....

Amir

It's within their double-secret processing time, not the public one they make up by throwing darts at a calendar or pulling dates out of a hat.

I hear ya, and understand fully -- hence me staying pretty much in this thread. And I am near the bottom of the Loser list, can't imagine how you guys ahead of me feel, other than girlwerewolf2xn.gif

I'm trying so stay chipper but after seeing the two folks who filed at the end of September get approved (transfered to CSC from NSC), I feel like throwing up. Late September! My God, their green cards haven't even expired yet.

I'm going to go bite the heads off some pigeons in the park across the street.

fyi.. had a infopass appointment today ... they stamped my passport .. should be good for me to travel .. even though I have my extension letter ...
immigration officer also reiterated that because of the fee increase earlier in the year that's what has held up all applications..

I love it how these boneheads explained that they needed a fee increase to reduce the backlog, and then the fee increase ends up creating even more of a backlog.

Did they confiscate your expired green card? I understood from other folks that when your passport is stamped, they make you cough up the green card.

Woooooo hoooooo!!!! Success!!!!

I just want to say that there is hope out there for all the TSC'rs. I have been lurking on the TSC thread for months now and nothing, nothing, nothing. I, too, have been waiting forever, and just today we found out that my husband's card was ordered.

His NOA date was February 5, 2007 and his biometrics were March 21, 2007, with the last touch being on March 24, 2007. I kept thinking Dear God don't let us get an RFE or an interview – we naturally, like everyone else, hate to have to go in and open up our private lives - again, for some disinterested immigration officer.

Today, I took a moment to go to his email and was shocked when I saw a notice from CRIS. My heart stopped when I realized that he was approved. This really has to be the best Christmas present, or Chanukah (if I was Jewish), as today is the first day of Chanukah. We have called everyone we know to tell them the great news. We're so excited because now we can apply for citizenship next month. kicking.gif

I wish you all the best. Don't give up hope. Stay strong and fight the TSC power.

Staashi

I really thought we'd be seeing some movement here with all of the people we have bunched up with early February NOA1s after fragile's approval. I mean, she had a 1/31 NOA1 and was approved almost a month ago. So you'd think someone from the early February crowd would have been approved by now.

I guess they just pulled hers out by accident when they were forced by Senator Cornyn to approve JLR's, and didn't put it back in the box that they returned to the janitorial closet in the basement men's room.

My personal theory regarding those two approvals is simply that they've contacted their Texas senators.....

Oh, yeah, I forgot that Francesca was in Texas. I thought she hadn't heard anything back from her senator, though. Guess she didn't need to.

I can't even contact my senator b/c I'm still within the processing time. If they keep that time in early April as they have for the past two months, TSC can just keep stringing me along.

On a related note, I read on another forum (the British expats) a comment by someone who recently had an InfoPass at a local Texas office, and was told that TSC had been swamped by N400 filings just prior to the fee increase, and had put all of the I-751s on the back burner so they could handle the N400s (which they're still not doing a very good job of). The poster was told that TSC would not get to the I-751s until sometime in the first quarter of 2008, meaning a year-plus wait for some people . . . .

I keep looking at that letter my wife received about her file being moved to our local office in Atlanta.

Well today I noticed a new receipt number on the letter. Keep in mind that this is a simple form letter printed out on plain printer paper with the blanks simply filled in with the correct name, A#, etc.

I tried to enter the receipt number on the USCIS web site under my account but of course the computer said the number was no good. It is an SRC number.

This keeps getting more interesting.

That's a TSC number all right. I have no idea why they would assign you a new number before shipping the file off to your local office.

I know you said you were going to wait a few days, but I'd make that Info Pass appointment right away. You can always cancel it or just not go if by some remote chance you're suddenly approved before the appointment. Although I don't know how you would find that out other than by snail mail at this point.

I had also thought about that but then I discovered something interesting. When making an Info Pass appointment it tells you what address to go to. When I did a trial appointment for my wife's case the only address it would allow us to go to is some service center in Atlanta which is not the actual Atlanta regional office. However as I stated before the address on the letter to send all correspondences to is the actual Atlanta district office on MKL Jr. Drive. I don't really know what good it would to us in the interim to just go to another service center where all they will tell us is what's in the computer.

At least they might be able to tell you what's going on, that is, why the petition was transferred to a local office and what to expect. Also, I know USCIS is building a couple of satellite local offices to take the pressure of the main local office in Miami proper . . . maybe they've done the same thing in Atlanta.

Received my wife's green card over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Opened the envelope and the her name was correct but USCIS included her maiden name. Not really sure if we should file a I-90 to correct the error or just leave as is. Her conditional green card was correct. Any thoughts on this new problem.

Well, well, aren't our friends at TSC a piece of work? My first thought would be to have it corrected, too -- if this was a USCIS error, there's no filing fee. However, you have to give up the incorrect card and send it with the I-90 to . . . TSC. They're taking "6 months" to process I-90s right now. I imagine that means you would have to get an InfoPass appointment so you could get an I-551 stamp in the passport . . . .

Ok so get this...

As you all may know I had my senator involved almost a month ago with no real results other than what we already know.

Well today I get a letter in the mail from the Department of Homeland Security that says my wife's case has been transferred to our local office in Atlanta and that any questions/concerns should be corresponded to that office and not the TSC.

So, anyone got any ideas as to what we are in for now? The only thing we can guess is that we are going to be called in for a second interview and that's why the case has been sent back to our local office.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks

Other than an interview, the only thing I can think of is the remote possibility that they're farming out I-751s to the local offices because TSC is behind.

Since the petition is now in your local office, why don't you make an InfoPass appointment so you can find out directly what's up?

Hi all,
I'm in the same boat, unfortunately. I sent my I-751 on Feb 5, 2007, NOA date is Feb 7, 2007, biometric done on March 16, 2007 and have not heard anything from TSC since.
I sent my N-400 on Nov 17 though, another wait for me apparently since TSC has not processed N400 faster than I-751 as I am informed mad.gif

Huh? You must have waited until the last minute and sent your I-751 in just a week or so before the green card expired if you've already sent in your N400. If you had sent your I-751 in just 2-3 weeks earlier, it would have been approved back in June . . . .

And a month ago they said they were processing April 3. The processing times are meaningless! Now that I think about it, they always have been pretty much meaningless throughout this whole journey. Anyway, we know that they are really processing and touching at least some people with NOA1s from the beginning of February . . . .

Excellent! I hope Mark does the same thing you did -- you both may now end up getting an approval within a couple of weeks.

I really shouldn't be this optimistic, though. This IS afterall TSC we're talkin' 'bout.

NO we still havent received a NOA yet. I have called numerous times, and they sent me this bs paper, basically recaping the call.

Usually something along the lines of ON this date you or your representative called and asked us to check status on your case ...blah blah blah

during this call the following info was provided...blah blah blah. your case is being actively processed if you havent heard from us in 60 days please call the national help line...blah blah blah

so everytime I call... I get one of these. And I have asked for the NOA to be resent 4 times and I have gotten one yet.

So im ready to go postal....LOL

Mark,
honestly, without NOA1, bio etc. I think its time for you to go congressional.
Contact one of the Oklahoma senators (you still live in Oklahoma, right?):
Senator James Imhofe
http://inhofe.senate...tituentCasework
or
Senator Tom Coburn
http://coburn.senate...n=Casework.Home

When you ask them to help with your case you will have to send them a signed privacy release form (available on their respective websites, see links above), because they can otherwise not contact USCIS in your name.

I'm considering contacting one of them as well.

Good luck.
Keep us updated.
Tanja

I agree. It's not as if they're just going to suddenly approve it in a week or two (assuming they have started working again, which it seems they have) -- your file won't have the biometrics. At the very least, I would read some of these threads dealing with doing walk-in biometrics without an appointment and see if you can at least get that on track.

You might want to wait and see if some of the folks at the top of the list get approved within the next week or so . . . if so, I'm going to hold off on contacting one of my senators since that would mean my (and your) petition would probably be approved sometime in late January . . . .

Frankly, sir, you find me amazed. Make that stunned and amazed.

I guess it takes a Texas senator to light a fire under the Texas Service Center. Does he have the goods on someone there?

Or does this mean that since they had to haul the dog-eared box containing our files out of the janitorial closet in the basement men's room, maybe, just maybe, they'll figger they might as well finish up the box?

Welcome, fellow Loser!!!

From what I recall having read here, you don't get another extension letter -- you have to make an Infopass appointment and get an I-551 stamp in your passport.

Hey! I didn't realize this was how to extend it - but we might have to do it if still waiting by the year mark!

My husband made an infopass appointment to try to talk to someone to make sure he hasn't missed his biometrics appointment, but we never got anything in the mail from them. Do you guys know if we need to bring anything special to the infopass appoint. except current residence card, extension letter, receipt, ..... anything else?

Thanks so much!

I have a feeling that once they start getting close to a year from the date of the NOA1s they left had off with -- NOA1s with a date of late January 2007 -- they might start moving again.

Then again, maybe not. After, all, this is an unresponsive and apparently unaccountable government bureaucracy.

This is my theory: TSC was assigned to work on processing US passports. I think TSC stopped processing applications around the same time there was a passport processing delay. That issue was resolved not by magic, but by assigning new resources to it. i751 is propably the most redundant form out there because i400 comes right after it.

That seems as rational an explanation as any. You have to wonder whey they just didn't make residency conditional for three years instead of two, with the option to either just remove conditions or naturalize after three years.

I received a letter in the mail yesterday from my senators office concerning my wife's I-751 status. Well here it is word for word:

From: TSC, Congressional Inquiries
Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2007 2:30 PM
To: Miller, Ash (Chambliss)
Subject: control (then a number) RE: (My wife's name)

Ash: The I 751 is currently still pending. It was filed 02/26/07 and they are still processing Jan 07.

Thank you for your inquiry and please do not hesitate to contact us again if you have further questions regarding this case.

Texas Service Center
Congressional Relations

There are a few things I can take away from this letter besides just the no real answers if offers.

1) My inquiry from the senators office was e-mailed to the TSC and not sent in the mail.
2) The respondent from the TSC had the e-mail address of my senators office saved within their outlook program. The identity was known as (Chambliss)
3) There is in fact a way to contact the TSC via e-mail.

Not going into detail.... but still processing Jan 07????!!!??? What a BS, it seems that each inquiry results in different processing times... and magically those are always a few days/weeks before the inquired case. I find it really worrying that TSC doesn't even report accurate processing times to members of congress - sad world....

Actually, I believe that is the most accurate response we've seen as far as processing times go.

It's not completely truthful response, however, because it neglects to mention that TSC STOPPED approving I-751s in June -- leaving off then with I-751s that had NOA1s of about the third week of January. They haven't moved an inch since.

So, yes, they are "still processing Jan. 07" -- and they've been "processing Jan. 07" for almost five months now.
