But I'd bet that in any event you will be approved in the next week or two. The officers won't know anything if it's not in the computer -- we just lucked out. Sort of. Yeah, I forgot about taking the paper, but I specifically asked for a 12 month stamp and it was a definite no go. I had to give up and stop talking to her because she definitely toed the party line and it was like talking to a brick wall. She got the jist that I was tired of waiting for an approval and made some comment about not worrying because my status is still ok. I replied "I know that and you know that, but people in the real world like employers don't get it, they don't understand the paperwork". When she replied "oh no, that's not true", I almost unloaded a can of "you're full of ####### shall I show you VJ and proof otherwise" whoopa$$, but I refrained and left before getting into trouble! Two (2) birth certificates 2. Deed to our house with both our names on it 3. Joint tax returns for previous three years 4. Print out from health insurance website showing her as beneficiary of my health plan 5. Copies of our credit cards showing we share the same account 6. I hope that's not a problem when Claudia reenters the country with just the stamp and they look up in the computer and ask her where the green card she was issued is. Probably not, but who knows . . . . Once you get the official e-mail notice, then you should have the card in your hot little hands within a week, some folks have received their cards in as little as 4 days, but count on a week to 10 days. Best wishes, and sorry we won't be seeing you on the N-400 toteboard. A few of the NSC Losers were verbally told they were approved but did not receive the email (let alone the card) until 2-3 weeks after the date they had been told they were approved. So I can believe that the IO at the InfoPass was correct in telling us we had been approved, but was only guessing when he said we should receive the email in a couple of days. We'll see! Claudia just called me after her InfoPass -- the officer told her that according to the computer, we were approved yesterday and should be getting the approval email in a couple of days and the card a week after that. FINALLY! I won't believe it (or update us in the list), though, until I see the email. Too bad we couldn't find this out before the InfoPass. InfoPass appointments in Miami are "appointments" only in the most generic, loosely used form of the word. She arrived about ten minutes before her appointed time of 10:00 a.m. They didn't see her until 11:30. Plus, even though the office is six miles north of downtown, she STILL had to pay $10 for parking in the lot for the place! She did get a 12-month stamp for her trouble, though, just in case . . . . On the other hand, I promptly received a postcard from our Democratic senator acknowledging our inquiry, and yesterday received a letter from his office stating that he was contacting CIS but that the agency had 30 days or so to respond to congressional office inquiries. After showing my receipt for the previous biometrics last year, the officer say that my photo just valid in 15 months. It should be less than 15 months since my previous biometrics ( I did biometrics around March 2007). It is just about 13 months until now. I have no idea what is going on at Vermont. Cdn_in_texas, you and I filed I-751 at a very close time, if what the officer say is true, you could receive a mail from Vermont to do the biometrics again ( no notice by email) I know that FBI fingerprint checks are good for 15 months. Given that you had your biometrics at the end of March 2007, the only thing I can make out of this is that they don't plan on adjudicating your petition until after the end of June 2008. I called the hotline again today and at first she told me nothing had been sent to me, but when I asked why the officer at my recent INFOPASS appointment had mentioned that something had/would be sent out she put me on hold for 15-20 minutes and then said that I should receive a letter in the next 2-3 weeks. It sounded very much to me that the officer reviewing my case had requested that a letter be sent to me, but that for some reason it was pending in the system and hadn't actually been sent out. Nobody pressed "print" I guess. =O) My case shows a new touched date for today, 05/12/2008 in case someone wants to update the list. Guess I'll wait and see what they need from me. Cheers! P.S. Anyone with upcoming INFOPASS appointments should perhaps really question the officer about whether there is anything outstanding with the case just to make sure there aren't any hiccups holding things up like with mine. Well, it's too bad you got an RFE but at least now you know that this is what the hold-up has been. It's actually not a little scary. If you hadn't pushed them (or if the officer at the InfoPass appointment hadn't mentioned the letter) you would conceivably just have been left waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. My wife has an InfoPass coming up, I'll make sure she quizzes the officer. Although the second level customer service IO I spoke with last week didn't say anything about an RFE. I called USCIS and the message I got was that my case was transferred and to allow 180 days from the date of the transfer before inquiring about my case. The message also assured me that a customer service representative wouldn't have any information that the message didn't already disclose. So, I don't know what to think. The officer who gave me my stamp at the local office aluded to a letter that was sent to me on March 28th (according to his computer) requesting additional information. But, I never received a letter and every time I call the hotline about it they say they have no record of any activity after the bulk transfer date. The waiting game continues. I'm going to try to discipline myself not to check daily next week. I'll see if the "watched pot never boils" saying is true. See you all in a week - if I have the willpower to last that long. LOL It's conceivable you were sent an RFE (what the local office referred to), it got lost in the mail, and the customer service reps are clueless about it, feeding you instead their scripted responses. Have you escalated any of these calls to an immigration officer? If not, tell them you want to take the call to a second level. You might also want to go back for another InfoPass just to say I never got the letter I was told about at my last InfoPass. My suspicion is that VSC is blending in the TSC transfers with the regular VSC filers so they do not unduly delay their territorial filers. Right now, anyone's guess about how the process is done is a mystery. I wouldn't think they have any special obligation to their "territorial" filers, particularly because only VSC and CSC are adjudicating I-751s now. My NOA1 is almost five months older than the longest pending NOA1 of the direct VSC filers. Indeed, the direct filers who had the same NOA1 date as mine were approved back in October.
