Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Old TSC cases transferred to VSC	QUOTE (junglee069 @ Mar 24 2008, 03:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i was wondering.... so far the lack of renewal hasn't really hindered our ability to do anything - i mean it really hasn't made a difference in day to day life. the only thing i can imagine is that if the wife needed to leave the country it might be a problem as we are a year into having applied. so outside of being outright annoying - what real difference has it made on anyones lives? really..? i'm not trying to say that the USCIS is right in taking so long - what i am trying to find out is what adverse affect has it had on anyone - substantial affect... Unless we get lucky in the next three months before the NOA1 expires, my wife is going to have to do an InfoPass (w/at least one kid in tow) to get the stamp. I swap my SRC# to EAC# (Vermont applicant# just to verify that they haven't done anything to our number) and did case status search but that EAC# belongs to someone else. Hope fully that mean we are not mixed with any VRC applicants. And hopefully ,,,,,,, very soon. Assuming they would assign us EAC numbers, they couldn't be the same anyway because the numbers have meaning as to year, day, etc. -- I can't remember the protocol. I still think that we will be treated as if we had actually filed with VSC on our TSC NOA1 dates. The whole transfer game is nothing but a cheap trick. For some reaosn we are always at the receiving end. First, TSC filers after July got transferred and we had to wait, seeing them get approved. Now we have been transferred but this time it slowed things down and we are put back in the far end of the line. I predict several months of seeing Jan/Feb TSC filers getting approved and VSC filers from late 2007 before we even get touched!!! This is what jokes about bureaucracy are made from!!! You got that right. Some guy who filed his I-751 with the TSC in OCTOBER, 2007 just got approved and was crowing about it in another thread. Meanwhile we're getting it up the tailpipe without any lube. Your tax dollars at work. NOT! Let's not even mention the chick who filed in NSC in JANUARY 2008, was transferred to CSC, and was approved the other week. Two, count 'em, two months. Do they have a rubber stamp for transfers at CSC? I wish they would lend it to VSC. Anyway, so much for the express CIS policy of first come, first served. My point is that we want to be virtually assured of a stamp with no hassles. If they claim "you need a photograph" then should we take a sample set at our local Walgreens before heading to our shcduled INFOPASS appt. at our local USCIS office (100 miles away)? That's what I would do, or even take one myself if you have a digital camera and photo printer. (We did that for my son's passport with no problems.) I really don't know. Unlike the recent immediate transfers from TSC, we have TSC case numbers, so VSC would have to be aware that we are somehow "different," particularly because we all have NOA1 dates that are much older than any of the I-751 petitions that were filed directly or immediately transferred. My guess is that if they started working on us alone on Monday morning, it would still be another two months before my wife's petition is approved, which would equal a 13 month wait overall. So it wouldn't bother me one bit if the VSC filers ended up waiting 9-10 months overall (instead of 6-7). This is not being selfish. People in the same situation in this country are supposed to be treated equally by the government. It's a fundamental right under the Constitution. CIS has blown that proposition out of the water. So I am NOT happy when I see people who filed at VSC back in August or September (or even October) now getting approved three weeks after we've been sitting in the VSC system. Nor, obviously, am I happy to see these CSC people get approved two months after filing. At 45 minutes a petition, and with each adjudicator working 40 hour weeks, 853 petitions would be processed in a single week. That means it would take them 14 weeks (or about 3 months and a week) to go through all 12,000 of the transferred petitions. My only question is: when are they going to start? Because if A_C went to the top of the pile, or even near it, and they started right in on us two weeks ago when we were "finalized" in the system, you would think she would have heard something by now. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Old TSC cases transferred to VSC	I'm making an educated guess that there are roughly 12,000 TSC-VSC Loser® transferees, give or take. According to the proposed rule it published in connection with the fee increases last year, CIS said that it received 143,000 I-751 petitions in FY2006 and estimated about the same for FY 2007-08. Divide that figure evenly among the four service centers (I have no other way of doing so) and you get 35,750. The TSC-VSC transferees consisted of petitions filed during a four month period from roughly mid-February 2007 to mid-June 2007. Four months is a third of a year. So if you divide 35,750 by three, you get 11,916. You'll also note that CIS estimates that the actual time a service center spends to complete the review of an individual petition is about 45 minutes. http://www.uscis.gov...roposedRule.pdf (See p. 65-66 for the figures on the number of petitions received and p. 78 for the figure on completion rates.) AILA Doc. No. 08021366. Nice theory but for the fact my wife didn't adjust status -- she received a CR-1 immigrant visa. You'd think they could cast a narrower net. Did you notice that Texas is processing petitions from June 30th? Now that's a slap across the face. We should get this law passed: Any immigration application that is not adjudicated within 1 year should receive a full refund of all fees. And then, every year that passes where the case still isn't adjudicated, another payment equal to application amount should be given(Of course, applications with a predetermined quota would obviously be exempt). I saw some applications still waiting for adjudication that go back to 2001!! Texas doesn't HAVE any petitions from June 30! That's the date it started transferring all newly filed petitions to CSC. A week ago yesterday was the two-month anniversary of our receipt date at VSC. (Actually, going by the VSC status list, I'm the only one left from the group of folks who got a VSC received-and-pending notice on 2/13 -- everyone else is from 2/22.) Updating kal and emo (and correcting CiT's last touch date) . . . no doubt now that everyone should get their card a week after approval. He didn't specify whether his wife had the same last name, though, and also he (or his spouse) is from Hong Kong.
