Wow, great research CHW! Why do # 5 - 21 not have a date recorded? Are they all in the period of April 29-May 12?
Also, do you know if all of those dates are the date the embassy received the Packet 3, like ours (April 8)?

Very depressing to see people waiting since March sad.gif. This feels like the NVC wait all over again crying.gif

wub.gif Thanks CHR.
#5-21 They didn't give us the info (same as #1 this also my case whistling.gif )
Mostly they start counting by the date they sent back P3 but I prefer to start by the date that the embassy records as having received our case.
Right depressed worried and blue can't tell how they feel by word.
People in this web are friendly they are giving eachother sympathy and power also good recommendation good.gif

I would like to know how far out the packet 3 to packet 4 waiting list is. I think USCANDUAL has been waiting 4+ weeks. These changes sure have thrown my Chada support plan for a loop. (give notice early / I pay 5 weeks of salary so she leaves immediately after interview) That would have saved me 30 days of waiting for her to qive notice after the interview. I have to say I feel pretty lucky. We have been open to her employer about the issues and it seems they have not tried to hard to find a replacement. Maybe Chada's personality is rubbing off on them.

(just a little bit lazy) as she likes to call it....

Hi honey !
"I asked a staff when I paid for visa fee he said 20 Kg = 34XX ? It takes about 2 months."

2 words-------GARAGE SALE

Now, why would anyone sell a garage? It took awhile, but one day (after obviously seeing a bunch of garage sale signs on the streets) my wife worked up the nerve to ask me why there were so many garages for sale on the weekends? Gotta love it.

My wife is now part of the garage sale subculture! Well, sort of anyway.

dvd

I have to agree with Danny+Chada and dvd. When my wife came from Thailand a couple years ago, it was in April...'opening season' for garage sales. We were living in Michigan at that time. Anyways, my wife only brought over the legal amount of luggage...so I think that was two regular bags...and as you can guess, those bags didn't contain any winter clothes! So, my wife too saw the garage sales here and was completely baffled over what the sam heck that was...but she soon became a HUGE fan of garage sales...and shopped them constantly. She couldn't believe the deals! She bought about 50 sweaters, which ended up costing me only about $100...which is way better than 1 or 2 sweaters for $100...plus, they were all basically new, if not brand new. And in Michigan, you can't live without a lot of sweaters... AAm was amazed at our 'excess'...most of what she bought still had the tags on it, never worn once. She would come home and say, "I bought this sweater for 40 baht. How much would it cost in the store?" I would tell her, "between 2000-4000 baht." wow.gif She'd about have a heart attack!!! wink.gif

Now that we live in Maryland, she's found that they don't have the same 'garage sale fever' that was evident in Michigan...and she really misses that.

Anyways...if you got garage sales...Hit 'em...AAm saved us thousands by going through them...plus she really enjoyed it...and met alot of American that way...

Peace,

MK+JC+AK

Thanti went to the post office to inquire about shipping rates to send packages by surface. She's planning to ship some packages to the states by post. The delivery time can take many weeks, even a few months, but if you're not in a hurry to get the goods you could consider mailing things. I don't remember the rates but perhaps Thanti could tell us what she learned at the post office...... she's working really long shifts again so not sure how often she's reading this thread.

I had checked into the option of shipping via the post office. I did some research and had found a bunch of stuff never gets to where it is going. It wasn't much cheaper then DHL/UPS either. Of course DHL/UPS were quite expensive for 20Kg boxes, I want to say 5500 baht.

Update for all of us waiting to get interviews scheduled. I spoke with Thanti this morning. The word from the Thai website usvisa4thai is that things may be moving at the Embassy finally. One case that had its Packet 3 received by the embassy just before ours, in early April, got their Packet 4 in the mail. Their interview date is in mid-May!!! Meaning that once they send out the P-4 apparently the interviews are being scheduled very quickly from that point on, just a week or two of notice. Exciting! Maybe we still have a shot at a late May or early June interview.

The other interesting thing is that the interview was scheduled for an afternoon timeslot, rather than the usual 7am / 7:30am type of slot. We're speculating that the embassy is trying to clear the backlog by doing double shifts and scheduling afternoon interviews to catch up. Maybe we're finally getting some good news!! Good luck to all........

Honey --- when you see this post maybe you can update here with more real-time info? It seems the Thai website has better intelligence sources than we do on VJ for this stage of the process.

Hey USCandual,

If I recall correctly, LadyWhite is quite familiar with your city of Chicago. I believe she got one (or more) of her degrees from Northwestern...

Peace,

MK+JC+AK

Hi MarkNAam:

I am actually familiar with your former city -- Detroit. smile.gif I lived and went to school there (Wayne State U) during my first year in the US (1997) before I moved down south to Birmingham, AL. However, I spent one weekend touring Chicago while living in Detroit. I loved the aquarium (don't remember the name) and the cruise along the Chicago River (is that the name of the river?). I liked Chicago better than NYC (where I spent only 3 days sightseeing, as well). smile.gif

Peace to you and everyone.
Ladywhite rose.gif

Hi Ladywhite

The aquarium is called the Shedd Aquarium. It's just gone through a major refurbishment and is supposed to be spectacular. It sits together with the Field Museum and the Adler Planetarium, all on a campus on the south end of Grant Park jutting into Lake Michigan. I've strolled around the grounds but haven't gone inside any of the three. I've vowed to myself that I'm waiting for Thanti to get here and then we'll do the tour of all attractions together.

Yes, it is the Chicago River. My office building is right next to the river, and I walk across the Madison St. bridge over the river every day from my train to the office. I love downtown Chicago! Especially now in the springtime. The cruise you took is probably the architectural cruise where the guides point out all the stunning architectural landmarks of the Loop. I just took that tour a few weeks ago with my dad, when my parents came to visit me. I'm looking forward to doing it again when ... you all know who... gets here tongue.gif

I prefer Chicago to NYC too. The only city (in my humble opinion) that rivals Chicago for architecture, fun, friendliness, food, attractions is Toronto. I really think Toronto is a smashing city.

Anyway, if any of you are ever in the Windy City by all means give me a holler and we'll get together.

She found many places but i need one to help her sound out words, etc. we tried computer class places and after 3 turns out the norm is sitting her down, opening an email then they go outside and talk with their buddies (expensive internet cafe, minimal instruction).

I'm leery of british english (she learned on that and was using quite a few weird english words and seemed confused when I didn't know). Like bobby-police, bollocks (BS), bonnet (trunk), cheeky, fortnight, I can't recall all of them but I guess it depends on if they teach dialect or common usage (with her accent, i'd have no idea what she was saying). Not a big deal but I guess it depends on where the instructor is from. She had an engish thai book but i went through telling her we don't use that, don't say it like that, etc leaving her frustrated. Canadian or American or maybe a rounded UK or AUS would work OK. The book she'd been using would set up sentences in strange ways and she wants to speak conversational English really badly.

...but if it helped your sweetheart, I'll look into it and give them a hollar since it sounds like a larger (not mom and pop shop) establishment.

Basically she has go in and they give her a test to place her in a class. They are all British teachers and going through their books, you do get the occasional strange British word, but for the most part is not bad. From what you are saying she is probably going to start in the beginning class and that would be beneficial learning the language. She may want to speak conversational English, however I think it would be much more of a benefit for her to read then to be able to speak as much. Wait til she goes to the store here, she will be lost if she can't read english.

You also should not be so down on her when it comes to saying stuff about learning english from the thai book. It might be that we don't speak that way, however we may actually write/read that way. Any bit of english whether it is UK/American/AUS is going to be a tremendous benefit to her when she gets here. If she thinks Isann people are treated bad, wait until she goes to the grocery store and someone is frustrated cause she can't read or understand something. She will hate the USA.

I think the test for BC was 600 baht, and then the classes were 7800 baht for 5 weeks, 3 hours a day.

I agree with you. I'm not down on her' she pulled it out and wanted me to go through which one's were brit only and which one's we use. Some pages had lots of brit stuff but for the most part it was OK. She was asking (I'm not one to criticize since any learning on her part I support 100%). I do know she needs to take some classes badly but she opted for the driving class. i told her she has to pass the written test at some point so I'm gonna see if I can get her to school...she needs that most of all since it seems she's losing her foundation. My last visit, her accent was heavier and I had the toughest time understanding her. I'm not sure if it's talking to family or friends, not enough with english speakers or what. If she'd learn english the computer and the net (which she's eager to learn) i tell her would be easier but she wants to learn it all....seems to be avoiding english school but at some point she'll have to go back and get more under her belt since everythign will be a mountain without that base.

Yeah I saw the placement is 600...couldn't find how much the class was. There's a school near her house (she can walk). I wonder if they focus on reading and writiing.

Here is my story ;
I hold B.A.degree my major is English but at that time my head was fulled of Grammar, dare not to speak even I had been studying English for 10 years.
Thai education's problem about English; I started studying English since I was 11 years old (quite slow) teachers focus just only Grammar ( reading fews pages by hole class student (30-40 persons) per lesson(~10 paragraphs)most of the exam is multiple choice examination I got write-up examination when I was at the university.
(I am talking about regural not international school) My speaking and listening skills was deaf-mute . dead.gif

I got trouble from Arabic people,Korean,Japanese ...ect their English are very hard for me to understand so I took some Enlish courses at an Institute;they use a solfwear for teaching I learn Grammar(again with a computer)I am not interested much about grammar I mostly took 2-5 classes with native speakers a day,of couse at the first time I was not confident at all to talk and speak with those teachers but I saw people in the class their english weren't better than me and the teachers understand our problems. At the end what I got from the Institute is dare talk and fight with a native teacher who kept teaching only present sim.tense and present con.tense for 2 -3 months I asked him these 2 tenses are the most important? He got angry and kick me out of the class I told the owner about what happened my classmates helped to be the wittness then he was fired ! whistling.gif I think the Institute help me solve some problems I am not afraid to comunicate with foreigners but the most important to help me improve my English is MY GUY good.gif We chat, talk, write lots emails and my guy is very talkative that why it can help me about my listening I have never had the problem with the Arabic customers anymore sometime my friends asked my help ( I hope my pronunciation sound not like them wacko.gif )

Here is my opinion ;
British council and AUA Language Center each class (level) there are about 20 students I think one teacher she can not get enough good take care what about hire a private teacher then she can practice Grammar, skeaking, listening and writing skills. You can start with thai teacher then native speaker later or start with the native I heard about 300 ? per hour your girl can invite her friends or children to join 4-5 person 300? per hour there are many and easy to find.

Birch-Beer I want to thank you for your post.

I have very minor issues with Chada. That said one of the things is she just doesn't get things done or make things a priority. Its that love / hate thing I have with the Thai culture. I love my girl for how laid back and calm she is but hate how difficult it is to get things done or done right the first time. It makes me feel so much better to hear I might have that in common with everyone else (I get frequent PM's from others telling the same story) So anyway I wish you the very best of luck!

If we could all get our girls to be a little like Magic Girl (USCANDAUL's) girl we would be in heaven. She needs to go in the visa consulting business. Chada and I got to meet her on my list visit and that girl has GOT IT TOGETHER!

good.gif Thanti is organized I'll grant you that. She's truly magical in many other ways... she cast her spell on me at our first meeting two and a half years ago at the lobby of the Woraburi hotel on Soi 4, and I've been hooked ever since. wub.gif
secret7vf.gif (if you keep posting that stuff here, it's gonna go to her head and you'll ruin it for me, bub) innocent.gif

Anyway, I don't know if it's a 'cultural' thing. Maybe it is to some extent. But I think there are plenty of type-A personality Thais who are super efficient and organized and run around with checklists and planning docs doing PM stuff, same as you and me. Just like there are laid back Americans who can't plan a peanut butter sandwich.

Don't be too hard on Chada regarding this stuff.... I think all of our gals in Thailand are doing an amazing thing, in simply agreeing to uproot themselves and start all over in the US. Dealing with all the ####### of the visa filing on their end, on their own is not easy.

Birchbeer: Sorry to hear about what happened. She's a real trooper, heart of gold! It'll be ok, just a few more days and you'll get your answer Monday.

Could we organize it to have the informational thread to contain common Thai FAQ's in the first several posts?

For example many people including myself need / needed help with things after NOA1 through the interview. If we could package it up over the first few posts as a guide it would be great. Would the admins gives us a Thai section under Asia and let us post "stickies" in it?

Mailing completed Packet 3 before receiving it from the embassy

I've read a few people who have said its perfectly fine to mail in the packets 3 to the embassy after you confirm the embassy has received your case from NVC. Chada read the same thing on the Thai forums.

Who has done this?
Did you do anything special?
Did it cause any problems?

Thanks in advance for the information

Hi Danny ,
I read the same as Beer from our favorite site, and it was a plan of us (Ron and me)
We planed to send P3 in the first week of April anyway though we didn't get P3.
We got confirm email from the embassy that our case is there.
Some say you will save time about 1-2 weeks from this way,and send by ems.service is the best choice
It's luck that we got P3 in the week we planed and I sent it back in the next day.
I think she will get P3 before the police certificate which you have to wait for anyway, and in P3 the checklist has been updated 09/08 she needs to put the case no. ,Applicant Name and her signature before mail it back.(just checklist form I think)
I didn't check the link for the new form but I made one copy of it (blank) if you would like to have one please let me know (cost not much just those pics whistling.gif )
ummm......... any Q ?
Good luck

I wonder how many employers would tell me to go fly a kite."

Many I think. After 2 long vacations to see Chada in the last 6 months my boss made it clear no more until the project i am managing is completed. That means my girl is on her own for the interview. She's smart so I'm hoping that along with the help of the people in this thread we can get through it.

I have not visited this site before. Look like there are a lot of information regarding Thailand. It is good that I do not have to create another thread or topic.

Quick question about the medical at Bamroongrad hospital ---> my wife went to do the medical last month for her first shot and received a brown envelope. Everything looks fine.

I chatted with her an hour ago to review all of the documents. She said that the hospital did not give her the vaccination book, (to be signed or recorded by the doctors who performed such action.) My wife said that all of the vaccination records were in the OPD folder at the hospital.

My wife said that she did not ask for one because she did not know that it was necessary and the hospital did not give her anything back that day, except the brown envelope. Does she need to have the vaccination book as well in order to show at the US embassy regarding what type of shots had been put inside? (I am not even sure whether the vaccination records (book) is available in English.)

She plans to go back to the hospital this coming Tuesday, April 7, 2009 for the second shot, which will be approximately 30 days apart from the first one.

Please advise. Thank you.

At Bumrungrad Hospital after you complete medical exam you will get 2 brown envelopes(small one is the result of the exam and the vaccine list that you got,the big one is film x-ray)they will be sealed and staff will tell you DO NOT open them they are for the embassy! And they will give you a white envelopes,it is a copy of the result and vaccine list same as the small brown one.In the white envelope you have to keep it for the AOS and after the interview they will return you the film x-ray ,when you fly DO NOT load it in a plane just take it with you.

We had the birth certificate translated and the single certificate translated, but that was it. The birth certificate you have to have translated for AOS, so you might as well do over there.

What's a "single certificate"?

The document that says she is free to marry, I forget the name of it, and am to lazy to look it up. It didn't necessarily need to be translated, but the attorney did it anyways. I think it is better to have them translated so the consular can read them rather then relying on the Thai staff. If they are un-helpful like the day we were there, then having the consular being able to read the documents helps.

Is this a required document for all, or just for those who have been married before?

Required for girls who have never been married. In the case of someone who has been married, they have a divorce decree to show they are no longer married.

I did translate Birth certificate,Name change certificate,Verification of unmarried status (single certificate)although it say:Required if you have not registered a previous marriage.I have never been married but sometime THE MAN ask for it I don't want to waste my time to go back again next day or next week so I try to complete everything before the interview day.Somecase he ask to see her parents death certificate, her transcript (don't need to translate ) ,You never known what will be asked for ! The document that he ask more, you can bring just only on Monday afternoon 13:00-15:00 hrs.
I also did my house registration translate .

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSAWASDEE 3 (2009 Thai thread restarted)
innocent.gif Hi everyone,
I have some information for you guys, let start with
1.) I read on the embassy page here at VJ that the police clearance takes about a week. Still accurate?

**When I went there everyone was told to come back and get it next 2 weeks (10-14 days office hours) You can use NOA1,NOA2,letter from the consulate (copy) or whatever that can confirm to the police about your purpose to get the visa (for study, work, married)
In case of K1 and K3 the police will ask your fiancee about your copy of passport with your signature to prove it.

2.) Do you have to schedule your medical exam ahead of time, or can you just walk in? Do you have to wait days for results, or after you leave is it done? Do they give you something to give to the officer at the interview?

** For Bumrungrad You can walk in,but I would like to suggest you to make and appointment it s more convenience. We will serve patient who Do make an appointment first. And if your fiancee is a new there, she should call to open her account to get the patient number(we call "Hospital number" "/HN") don't worry it doesn’t take too long just need 1.her name and family name correct with her passport 2. her date of birth 3.her phone number .Only tell staff that she would like to do med exam for US. visa normally the doctor schedule is Mon - Fri 07:00 - 16:00 hrs. and Sat - Sun 07:00 - 12:00 hrs.(but for this month on the 5,11 - 15 he cancel clinic because of holiday)Please call to confirm his schedule before coming. After making the appointment staff will confirm you about things required 1.Medical exam form from the embassy if you didn't get P3 yet just download and print from the website OR you can get it here we will charge you only 200 ? whistling.gif 2. Passport the original and one copy 3.her ID. card just the original one 4. One Photo size 1" or 1 1/2" 5.the record of her vaccine (if have)
** Pricing
- Med exam 2450 ?
-Vaccine required TD, Measles, Mumps, Rubella = 2 shots 4 kinds = 1408 ?
Total is 3858 ?
but in case of your fiancee needs more vaccines.... (that why we need her vaccine record)
Chicken pox vaccine - Varilrix SC 0.5 mL
- Okavax SC 0.5 mL ..... same price 1630 ?
Hepatitis B = HBvaxPRO (Adult) 10 mcg/1 mL IM = 723 ?
HPV. = Cervarix 2530 (age 9-26 YO.) and if your fiancée have enough time (6 months) I suggest to buy the vaccine by package it cost 6800 ? more cheaper than get the second and third shot at the US.
any vaccine price if you want to know please let me know .
But if you want to save money you can go to the Saowabha Institute Rama4 to get vaccines there price much more cheaper then bring the record to show the doctor.
About the result you can get it in the same day if everything normal better to go before noon.

3.) On the embassy's website, it seems to suggest that unless you are the interviewee, you cannot even wait in the waiting area with your fiancee, but I seem to remember others saying they did in fact wait with their fiancee, but I can't remember exactly. Can someone comment on this?

** Here is a trick ……….. tell the guard that you want to contact the citizen section then when he let you get in just pretend to walk to that section because there are guards inside catch there eyes on you but don’t worry citizen section is near the interviewing room there is a connecting door you can walk through to the interview room but you can not sit beside her.

4.) I have read that sometimes you need "packet 3" to show to the police to get your certificate, in addition to the NOA2, and a copy of my passport, and possibly a letter of intent from me. I cannot personally sign these yet. Is that ok? Also, why do you need to show them packet 3? Isn't packet 3 just a bunch of forms that you can download off the website anyway?

** You can use NOA1,NOA2,letter from the consulate (copy) or whatever that can confirm to the police about your purpose to get the visa (for study, work, married)
In case of K1 and K3 the police will ask your passport with your signature to prove it.
One thing, the police will ask your fiancée to exchange her card before get in do not give him her ID card because she need to use it inside she can give her driver's licence or employee ID card ect….

5.) When paying the $131 $ fee at post office make sure fiancee keeps receipt in safe place you will need at interview.

** New update for package 3 form the receipt is one of the check list so you need to put the original one in the package send back to the embassy please don’t forget to make a copy to show him on the interview day .

6.) The completed medical papers are only good for 6 months. It is ok to do the medical portion before receiving packet 3. i used the same medical papers that DABOYZ just posted.
(Yeah this is what the embassy told me as well but seems like another girl on www.usvisa4thai.com kind fight with me about this, she said it is valid for 1 year which I don't think so. Because I think I better rely on what the embassy told me. )

**The medical report valid in 6 months mean the date you did the medical exam until your interview date.
The medical report valid in 12 months mean the date you did the medical exam until you contact the AOS stage in the US.

It's not consistent. My fiancée was asked to show the letter from the consulate that comes with Packet 3. She had NOA2 but they did not ask for it. When she returned to pick up the police certificate (she still doesn't have it after 2 weeks of waiting), she heard them speaking to another Thai girl, saying that she would need the letter in order to get the certificate.

Others, as Will reports, have been able to get it with just NOA2.

The police told my fiancee to show them a copy of my passport.

Guys, no point in arguing with each other. I think it is clear what the COs are looking for, and that is "two-way" communication, which is definitely a change from past requirements. It does seem a little over the top to me, but it does make sense. How many "couples" are out there in a situation where it is just the guy with all the feelings, and putting forth all the effort, while the girl could care less, except to get her "plane ticket" to the US. By seeing that the girl is making as much of an effort to contact the guy, it shows that she is serious about the relationship.

What strikes me as odd is that they are not taking into consideration the fact that it is cheaper for us to call them, that we are trying to save them money, and that it is easier to contact them when we are available, instead of the other way around.

Lastly, I don't know about most of you, but I was raised where it is inappropriate for a girl to call a boy, but maybe I'm a little old fashioned! laughing.gif

I think showing strong evidence of two-way communications is clearly important, that's the lesson I'm taking to heart from all this.
In our case, we have plenty of that. We have roughly equal number of SMS messages back and forth between us. And we have records on both ends of the same messages. I have my SMS logs from AT&T showing inbound and outbound calls from my phone to hers and vice versa. And she has logs from DTAC in Thailand.showing the same message traffic. That should be pretty strong evidence I would think.

As to calling - I'm on a crappy pay-as-you-go plan so I almost NEVER call her on my phone, I use skype for that. But she calls me all the time. In fact we have a routine where she calls me for my wakeup call each morning at 6:15am (18:15 in BKK). It's not as good as having her sleep beside me, but at least I have her voice in my ear each morning when I wake up smile.gif

We just got the following email from BKK embassy. Does this sound right? Another 4-6 WEEKS?? This waiting is getting out of hand. 4 1/2 months at CSC waiting for NOA2, another 2 months stuck at NVC, and now we're still waiting for the embassy to get its act together. We've got all the Packet3 materials ready to ship, just waiting for them to get the case. Sheesh.

Thank you for your inquiry. As of March 24, 2009, the IV Unit has not yet received the above captioned case from NVC. In order to process the case, the IV Unit needs to have the case from NVC in both physical and electronic files. If NVC has already transferred the case to the Embassy, please allow some 4-6 weeks for the case to be completely transferred to us. Once we received the case in the system, we will be in touch with you by mail.

Congratulations on your visa, and your upcoming arrival in the US. The current weather in Chicago is 15F (-9C) with a brisk wind this morning. But, this is getting towards the end of the really cold weather. There will still be snow throughout March but it usually is coldest in Jan and Feb.

Where in Illinois are you going to live?If it's in the Chicago area, PM me. I am waiting for my (Thai) fiancee's visa too, hoping that she will be able to come here in May. It could be fun to get together with you and your husband this summer.

Hi I am new here.
My fiancé and I are working on a fiancé visa and we just got the approved notice by e-mail from USCIS. My fiancé didn't meet the minimum poverty guideline for 2008 because he just finished his degree in May 2008. Does anyone know what
assets the government will accept as proof of financial support? In
addition, he has some money in savings. What amount of money would be
needed to makeup a $1500 shortfall in 2008 (he had $12,500 of the
required $14000(100%) for 2008)? Will it be 100% or 125% of proverty guideline?

Thanks for your help!

I believe if you filed now you have to go by the 2009 guidelines, however I have not seen any posted. For 2008 it is 125% of the poverty line which was 17,500 in 2008 for a household of 2 in the Continental US (more for HI & AK). It goes up if there are dependents. If he is active service military then he can use the 100% guideline.

Link:

http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

To use assets to make up the difference it is 3 times, based on 2008 Guidelines and the info you proviced, he would need 15000 in assets to make up the shorfall based on the current income.

Good luck.

Thank you for your quick reply.
Can his assets be life insurance and then add it together with his money in bank account?
After he finished his degree he came to Thailand for 3 months and then went back to the US in August. He just starts working in September 2008. Right now he is collecting all his documents to send to me. His work recommendation letter shows his yearly income is above 125% porverty guideline.Do you think it will help for his situation? He is working as a full time employee at one of the university in SC .
Please advise and Thank you for advance

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat if you have an employment letter dated today
Though I am presently employed with the economy the way it is it's possible I could lose my job any day now. So this is just a theoretical question. Say I had an employment letter dated today and I lost my job tomorrow and my Fiance's interview was one month from today. What would happen if I used the letter for her Affidavit of support? I now have this envelope and the big medical Xray with the smaller vaccination envelope which has apparently been resealed. what do I need at the POE? Can I stick the big X ray in our suitcase and just hold onto the smaller vaccination envelope and the new envelope for the customs agent to inspect?

It states pretty clearly on the outside of the brown envelope "Do Not Open" Don't put it in your checked bags. You will need it before customs. Carry it on the plane.

I understand about the new envelope. I wasn't sure if I needed the old one from the hospital. It sounds like the answer is no, only the new one. That's good because that big X ray one would be annoying to carry.
