K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSAWASDEE 2
Hello everyone,
My fiance and I had a successful interview today! Yay! Just a heads up, there's a new interviewer named Jan. I'd guess she's around 30. The Japanese-American interviewer I've read about was standing over her shoulder and teaching her how to do everything. I honestly think she was more nervous than we were, but she was very friendly. I'll add more details into the Embassy Info page. http://www.visajourn...p?cnty=Thailand

If it clears anyone's worries, I made below the poverty line for income last year because I was in Thailand and I am currently, technically unemployed. I don't have much in the bank either, but they said they didn't have a problem with my I-134. All I had for supporting documents was a letter from my bank, 2 notarized letters from family members saying they'd help financially, a letter from a friend saying he'd give me a job, my tax return, and a W2 from my last job. Hope this helps. PM me if you need any help with anything.

I did some searching and found some interesting stuff on the decision making process for an I-134. Download this form.
http://foia.state.go...am/0940041N.pdf

Scroll Down to "9 FAM 40.41 N4.6-2" and there's some good information there; particularly letter E & F.

Do you know what they are looking at the most on an I-134? Do they ask any questions about it at the interview?
I graduated from college, worked for 7 months, and then did tsunami relief/development work for a year. Needless to say my numbers don't look that great on paper. I have proof that I file taxes, graduated college, have good credit, and had a good job, but the numbers still don't look great. How concerned should I be about the I-134? blink.gif

Hey everyone, I have 2 questions.

1. I'm curious how you filled out the immunizations part on DS3025. How on earth is someone from Isan supposed to find non-existent medical records of shots?

2. How long did it take to get your police certificate?

Thank you!

I would be interested in hearing more details from any recent experiences at the interviews.

What questions did they ask?
What were they "really" trying to find out?
Should I go with my fiance to the interview?
Anything we should or should not say?

Thanks to everyone who posts on here. Wish I would've found this months ago!

This is an important question. My fiance also got approved on the same day that scandal's fiance was approved.

She got the white slip and was told to return on Wednesday just the same as scandal's fiance. The problem is this, her slip says to return on July 3rd, Friday?!

So, at this point I have told my fiance to go and pick it up on the day they verbally told her, Wednesday.

Wondering what you think about this??? Is it normally two days? Why are they telling us two separate dates? What does scandal's white slip say?

Congrats nusder!!! You must be so happy kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif When do you expect her to come to the US?

About the white slip - Good question. I'm in the US, haven't seen the white slip. I haven't spoken to Thanti since this morning (US time), but expect to shortly. I'll ask her about the white slip. She also logs on here sometimes, so I'll ask her if she would update the board directly with her first hand account of the interview.

Ok, I just had our translator service we used send me a scan of the paper, and it says July 1st at 3pm. She must have misread it and saw the 3 o'clock time thinking that was a date. Thanks for the help, I am excited for you, have a wonderful fourth of july!

innocent.gif Do you need my helps CHR.?
Hi nusder05, First of all Congratulations for you and your fiancee.
My white slip said " Please return to pick up your immigrant visa or your fiancee visa on JULY 1 at 3:00 pm.
Please have a seat in the waiting room and your name will be called."

Please tell your fiancee to write her FULL name in english before hand in it back to the officer.
May I ask your fiancee's name I will meet her and take care of her for you if you do not mind.

One interesting case for study: One of my friend had the interview last week and got approved she came to get the visa on June 29
but the staff said she can not get the visa today because her case has a problem she asked for the problem but he couldn't tell.
He told her to go back and wait for calling from the embassy. That day about 10ppl got the visa except HER !
While she try to think about what wrong for her case she saw the nice LADY who did the interview she went to her
and ask about her case why she can not get the visa today. The nice lady told her to have a seat she needs to check
(seems she didn't know what wrong with her case) My friend waited till 4:40 pm. the nice lady said we are sorry the mistake was because
the embassy please come back again tomorrow(June 30) My friend asked her to confirm that if she come back tomorrow she will get the visa ...SURE ?
she said sure. my friend asked for her white slip the date didn't changed she said will not have any problem with it .
When she came back today the guard said there is no appointment for picking up visa today then she told him the story and show the white slip
then he let her get in ................ at the end she got the visa today.
What do you think if she go back and wait for their contact How long does it take? some cases have been waited 1-2 months wacko.gif

We were notified of a July 10 interview date after returning packet 3 on May 29, 2009. No missing documents mentioned. Already have medical stuff to bring with us.

I will arrive BKK from Los Angeles at 1 am on July 10, meet up with Puy at our hotel and we will leave for the embassy early AM, like 6:00.

Does anyone know which BTS station is closest to the embassy (Wittayu Road)???? Thanks for the help.

Very excited that this ordeal is nearly over.

The embassy just called Chada and asked her to come in tomorrow for the interview. Chada said she could not because she was not ready but she didn't want to miss the chance. The lady told her to come in this Thursday at 1:00pm window #5.

Can you believe this? We went from "we will contact you in the near future with a list for more documents" to scheduling an interview 2 business days later. Oh man we are not prepared for this. I'm not for sure how to pull off getting ready in 2 days...

What is going on????

innocent.gif Here is my suggestion;
Try to organize the evidence of reletionship as much as you can
Take that chance go to the embassy on the date
Unlucky she will be asked more doc. then you can submit later.

The older packet 3 instructions list several documents ( Birth certificate, Name change certificate), these documents, a copy can be submitted and the original brought to the interview. I got nervous when I saw that the embassy sometimes deviates from ther stated guidlines. Have other people submitted copied only of these types of documents in package 3 or sent the originals? Just wondering what other people have done.

Congrats to all who have gotten interview dates, looks like things are moving again!

Still preparing for packet 3 submission....

The agency we are using for translating documents says we need to get official government seal on their translations for : Certitifcate of unmarried status, birth certificate, and a name change certificate. and this costs 400THB for each document on top of their translation fee for each document (350THB), plus 600 THB to bring all the documents to the government office.

Was I mistaken to think if they should apply a seal or provide proof of being a certified translator would be enough?

Did everyone else do this? Sounds like a scam to me...

Thanks, I can't wait to join all the other packet 3 submittors wiating for interview date whistling.gif

Yes, we had to do something like this as well. I don't know the details, Thanti handled it. We had all of our translations done by Sunbelt Asia, and they took care of getting the government seals done. I don't remember the cost, but 400B sounds probably right.

If Thanti (magic girl) replies, she can give you more accurate information.

I don't think you were scammed on this. If you were, then we were too.

innocent.gif Thanks for giving me a cradit CHR. but it is really hard job to find the receipts.
I found the email from them hope it is can give you some info;

As for the translation, we can translate the document for you in just 1 day for a fee of 400baht a page. For this document to be officially recognized, it must be certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand. We can immediately send the document there for certification. Our fee is 1000 baht, government fee is 800 baht per set. The certification at Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take 2 days but can be done in 1 day for an express fee.

Well ,on Thai website there are the pattern form for each document to help you to translate them by yourself and some suggestion just stamp date and sign your name but I prefer to do them official and looks professional because we need to use it whe adjust my status star_smile.gif

They only just updated the checklist and procedure now, May 2009.
The new procedure is to direct applicants to the website to use the NEW CHECKLIST.
The new checklist does NOT mention Thai ID card or Thai House Registration Book.

But both are now REQUIRED in Packet 3 response.

This is perverse.
They are seriously TRYING to get people to fail in this process. There can be no doubt about it. I think Scott is right - there is an internal ####-covering operation going on there, and this is just the external manifestation of it that we are seeing.

Hey everyone, I just want to say thanks for all the help I recieved here, though I was here briefly and may not be remembered. I have to update my Sig, but at the moment I am sitting here in the US and my Wife is sleeping in the next room. She was granted a B1 visa and tomorrow we are able to have our second wedding recetpion so that everyone can join in, since only my mother could make it to the wedding in March.

Now my wife and I are looking at moving to the US for good and eventually naturalizing her. So naturally I have some questions.
She has a b1 visa now, can she apply from within the US for her K3?
If yes, what are the rules, can she leave the US during this time to visit family?
If we apply in Nov for her K3 and it is given on the first attempt, am I right to assume about 8-10 months for the process?

Thanks a lot guys!

Hello everyone I stopped by awhile back to look around after my Fiancee was denied (in August) We are both teachers so the next chance to get to America is this April. We only want to visit for 30 days since my father can not travel and will miss the wedding in Chiang Mai (3/31/07)
She had the following at the interview
All the forms correctly done
Proof of a steady job (3 years)
A house in her name
A car in her name
And enrollment into the Master's program at Payap.

She was denied on the vague statement of " not enough evidence to return to Thailand"

We DON'T want to move there yet, when we do we will file those correct forms, but now we just want a 30 day tourist visa. This time we have a few more letters and I hope to be enrolled in Payap prior to applying again as well as having a letter from work that I will be returning for year #2. Just to hope that the proof that the Farang plans to return as well.

Anyone who has had success is BKK or CM more giving? Is there a day when a nicer person is working? I have heard that the Consolate in CM are, well a long string of thing I don't need to repeat. We work 60hrs a week so it seems like forever trying to get ready for try #2

I last met my fiace was in August 2008. Just bring many pictures and many relationship evidences to the interview.

Was that when you first got together? or When you last saw her.

We were together, 7 months, when we had our interview.

Well.... let me explain. I met my American Fiance in the US in year 2006. And I came back to Thailand in April 2007. My fiance went to visit me in Thailand in year 2008, he was in Thailand 3 months. Then he went back to the US in August 2008. So from August 2008 to my interview date , I didn't see him for 10 months and my interview went fine.

For those of you wondering about phone record, I suggested that may be you can ask your fiancee to use Deedial.com. I used this service to call my fiance in the US.SO your fiancee can keep the record for you as well. It is cheap, I think it is only .89 satang per minute and she can add more money at 7/11 at least 100 baht. When she wants to get the phone record , then she just log in to the website and pull out the record and then copy and then paste to MS Words. But what I did I pulled out the record every week and saved it in the folder and made the file in order. Once the time was closed to the interview date , I just printed out.

Yes, it's me , Nuch. Are you around at USvisa 4 thai site? The lady that I had the interview with was really kind. Before the interview I was worry about my Fiance income last year because he just finished school and just starts to work in September 2008. But I have asked my fiance to send me most of his job offer documents along with I-134 and his 2008 tax return. I also submitted one recommendation letter from the pastor who I really restpect and one of our good friend 's letter telling about our relationship. While I was having the interview ,the lady didn't even mentioned about his income at all.

This lady is really nice and I didn't feel any nervous at all. I think everyone could get the visa if they did prepare their documents for the interview. Good luck and God Bless you to everyone.

I have emailed them. They didn't really response back until they call me on June 3 and schedule me for the interview next week.

When you track Thailand EMS and if it's shown that someone pick up - normally will show security (guard)'s name, I think your document is there.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWE'VE BEEN APPROVED!
Is 6 months the average wait time to get to NOA2 now? Man that's depressing sad.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat's the longest people are waiting for K1 approval???
Why would some people take so ridiculously long? It seems the average is about 4 months. If those who have been waiting call the USCIS what do they say? Such time discrepancies make no sense.
