K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F typed AND handwritten OK?
Hey all, i used the search function but nothing. My question is, on the I-129F form, on the places where i type certain things there is not enough room for the typed information and it shows a little "x" and doesn't add the rest of the info. because theres no room left in the spaces. The instructions say you can continue the rest of the info. on a separate sheet and sign and date it. I was wondering if i could just hand write in the places that don't have enough room for the typed letters to avoid having to add a separate sheet for continuations of like 1 and 2 letters of names. Will this be acceptable? Has anyone done it that way? Any response is appreciated. Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresa little confused
Hey, i'm in from Texas and the I-129F intructions say to mail it to Vermont, but i keep seeing little references on here to the "Texas Service Center".
What is that? Is there an easier way for me to file this thing that's closer, or is that just something completely different? Forgive me cause i am new to all this and i have read SO much already that my head is spinning and i don't wanna miss something that might help me. Thanks.

I agree with Zee (hi zee! smile.gif )... if your case has no special circumstances and you feel confident in your ability to read and learn then save your money.

nobody can guarantee you anything and for them to say so is wrong IMO. Also, keep in mind you will need to provide this 'company' with all relevant documents and forms anyway. wink.gif

Read the K1 Guides... simply go down the checklist and include what is asked of you. Use the example forms (link above) to help you fill out your paperwork. Use the search feature here on VJ to help answer any other questions... chances are they've been asked 1000 times! wink.gif

Because you'll be going through Manilla you will want to check out the PI Regional forums here on VJ. Look for the Sheriff's sticky post at the top that spells out the K-1 process and dealing with Manilla for you in detail.

Where is the PI regional forums at? Sorry, i dont seem to see it. Thanks for the response though.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnyone ever use "K1 visa journey" services
I'm just worried that 1 little mistake on my part might slow the whole thing down, or cause me to be denied. I would be more comfortable with someone who has done in multiple times over handling all the paperwork. I read so many complaints about the process here that it seemed like a better way to go.

I just got through visiting a website called "K1 Visa Journey". They charge like $485 to do the whole thing for you. They say they have a 100% acceptance rate. Anyone ever deal with them, or know anyone that has?
Thanks.

Great advice as always pushbrk.

rockhouse, please dont take one members remarks to heart. We all started this process with many questions ...and some of us with many mistakes as well. wink.gif As I said, I too had many questions when filling out the forms and I certainly do not consider myself a moron. I'm sure you're not either! They can be very confusing at times ...which is why this website is such a great resource. Really, the hardest part for most of us is the wait after the forms are all filled out and sent in.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you have regarding the process and i'll be happy to help you out.

Thank you so much! I will try my best, but may need more help.

Good grief, a moron can fill the forms out. The instructions are very simple. I never read a "guide" for ANY thing we filed. Somehow we managed to do it. Nothing was delayed or returned and no additional evidence was requested. Each line has an instruction. The required documents for filing an I129F are clearly spelled out for both a fiance or a spouse.

Just follow the directions. Exactly as written. When you are done, THEN check the guides and example forms if you want to and see if there is anything you might have missed.

I guarantee you that if you READ the instructions on the I129F not a dam thing was said about an I134F. Did the instructions ask for one? No? Why are you filling one out then?

I'm just not real good with computers is all. I've spent my career as a commercial fisherman in alaska for the most part. I guess i could call u a moron if u had a problem trying to figure out how to run the powerblock for a halibut longline.
Not everyone is familiar with PDF's and whatnot.

WHEN the affidavit is needed is irrelevant to the fact that it's lay out is weird. Thanks for the info. though, there's so much on this site it's easy to miss stuff.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThis is what im talkin about...
I started a thread earlier about using a service to complete the K1 and everyone basically called me a dumbass for not doin it myself. So I sit down and start filling all this stuff out and i get to the Affidavit of Support part. On number 3 of that document there is a place for me to fill out my fiances name, address, etc., but the form is all retarded in that there is no room for her name. It's like there is a line missing. It's ####### like this that worries me. I know that if i just fill it out neat and complete that anyone with common sense would be able to read it and understand. But we're dealing with Government employees. Can someone please explain where i write her name at number 3? I don't want something as dumb as that holding everything up.
Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill pregnancy deem a K-1 petition null and void???
I have a friend who went to the Philippines last month to meet up with his filipina GF. Everything's cool and now he's planning on starting a K-1 Petition for her. The thing is, his GF missed her period for 2 weeks now and they're worried that she's pregnant. If given that she is pregnant, how will that affect the K-1 petition?? will that deem the it void?? if not, what are the things that she could possibly undergo thru the process??? what should be the best approach for this?? any info is much appreciated. Have a good day.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed to change consulate

The good news is that with a little luck the NVC will forward it on to the correct consulate as soon as your petition is approved and sent to them, regardless of what you wrote on the petition. You aren't changing countries altogether, are you?

That's a relief. :) I'm not changing countries, no, and I imagine that they'll chose the correct embassy, though my fiance does live right in the middle of Canada.

Thanks for the reassurance, all!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed to change consulate
My I129F petition is still at CSC, but I realized I used the wrong consulate when filling out the paperwork. What's the easiest way and the best stage of the game to get this changed? I inadvertantly used a consulate that doesn't process K1s. Oops!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAOS
Andy,

My understanding is that you can only enter the U.S. once on a K1 visa, and that if you leave again before you're married, the visa is null and void. As the last poster mentioned, it can take months to receive advanced parole, once you've applied for your adjustment of status. I'd recommend flying directly to Japan before entering the U.S., if that's a possibility.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTSC v. CSC

I know there are other threads on this, and I just don't get it. I signed up to receive automatic updates on my case at https://egov.immigra.../jsps/index.jsp. According to that site (https://egov.immigra...iceCenter=Texas), TSC is NOT processing I129-F's, and I don't see a date of 2/15/06 anywhere. CSC (https://egov.immigra...nter=California) is showing they are on 11/03/05, but it hasn't been updated since 02/08/06.

I can't get the page you all were using to show 02/15/06 for TCS to open properly, and I don't know whay two sites would have differing information. The site I am using is THE SITE TO USE, isn't it?

Clarification, PLEASE!

Yes, you're using the USCIS site, which is the official source, if not always the most accurate source. I don't think I've seen confirmation from anyone of an NOA1 coming from TSC yet, so that might be speculation. I'm taking it with a grain of salt until I see something fairly convincing. (Someone please chime in if you've seen evidence that I129-Fs are indeed going through TSC.)

If you filed your case through TSC before Feb. 15th, you should certainly be going through CSC, in any case. I don't think even the speculation is pointing to formerly TSC cases being shipped back to TSC.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTHEY'VE UPDATED!!

i keep refreshing it, i even closed the browser and reopened it, its still showing december 31st. I dunno, its a weird system if some people can view one date and others another date and its not like theres a time difference when it comes to the INTERNET.

Their browsers may be caching the old information. I see December 31st, as well.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTHEY'VE UPDATED!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen should we call CSC
Not to mention, from what I can tell, there are no VisaJourney cases at CSC that have been processed past Dec 5th. :) It's hard to be patient, but I'm trying. I don't have any reason to believe they've left my case behind yet.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen should we call CSC
I know it's hard to be patient -- my NOA 1 date is very close to yours -- but just try to hang in there. We aren't past our allotted time, so it may be a couple of weeks or more yet. It definitely isn't long enough to think we've been forgotten.
ridleyNot TellingCanada2006-02-24 17:40:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCanadian Fiance(s)
Luckily, CSC seems to be speeding up, but based on current stats, I'd say you've got about a 3 month wait in California, then another 72 days (or 2.5 months) before the interview and the visa being granted. That's assuming no requests for evidence or administrative reviews. But that's purely speculation on my part. The stats change over time.

Good luck in the process!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCanadian Fiance(s)
I'd say that for Canadians, the process depends a lot more on which Center in the U.S. your application is going through; which is to say, it has more to do with where the U.S. citizen lives. The process of getting your NOA2 varies drastically based on that.

After your NOA2 is processed, your application gets sent to the National Visa Center, and then to one of the two American consulates in Canada; that part of the process is more consistent for all Canadian cases. You can see the latest stats on that here: http://www.visajourn...eline/stats.php

Have you resorted to camping at the mailbox... :P

I know you are worried but the rfe probably is for something stupid you already gave them

And it looks like once you return it you are only days away form approval.

Haha, almost. I've been going home for lunch every day so I can wait for the mailman.

I'm not too worried -- I know I can provide whatever they're looking for, even if it means I have to resort to begging my family and friends to write notes saying they've met my fiance, and that we were in the same place at the same time.

I just want to knooooow. The suspense is killing me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI'm still waiting for my RFE
This is driving me nuts! I'm trying so hard to be patient and wait my turn, and I'm confident I can provide whatever further information they need from me, but... I received my e-mail notification last Thursday night, and now, over a week later, still no RFE. I'm hope-hope-hoping it comes today. Is there generally a long delay between when they send the e-mail and when they send the actual document?

I just want to get the information sent back in, so we can get the show on the road!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCopy of Passport Stamp for RFE
In response to my recent RFE, I'm sending a copy of my passport admittance stamp from Saskatoon, where I flew to meet my fiance for the second time in August. The letter indicated to me that just the identification page and the page with the stamp were sufficient, but does anyone know whether it is more advantageous to copy the entire passport, as one might for proof of citizenship? The letter wasn't entirely clear on the point, so I'm making a bit of an inference.

Thoughts?
