PhilippinesLetter of Intent to Marry... is it necessary??
The original "circumstance of meeting/intent to marry" letter that is sent along with all the other stuff to USCIS is forwarded to Manila. The USEM has all that stuff already. It's all good.

I was told they have all the stuff you initially sent to USICS so included in that stuff they've got that letter already. The stuff on the list by the embassy is all you need supposedly. I am giving her copies of the original stuff too but haven't sent the letter thing. I probably will now just in case.

This is correct. The letter of intent was included in our case that was sent to USCIS. It has been forwarded to Manila. We're all good.

I brought ALL my credentials too just in case my employers would like to see it.
And it will be less hassle for my family in PI to send my credentials to me so that's why I brought it with me.
But I think it's not really necessary. After all, they would still send you to an agency to have your credentials evaluated to see if it matches the US curriculum.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. biggrin.gif

What's not necessary? My transcripts?? or having it internationalized??.. What does 'having it internationalized' mean anyway..hehe.. I'm sorry, I'm a lil confused. helpsmilie.gif

Hi I'm RH's fiancee, I'm gonna be flyin to Texas soon if i pass the interview this 2nd of September (this is giving me weird feelings in my guts these days..hehe).. If i do pass, I plan on bringing my Transcripts with me, and I'm wondering if there are stuffs i need to do with it (TOR).. like maybe have it stamped by somebody to be credible. I really don't have any idea.. I dont want to bring my TOR to America then later find out its useless, because i didn't have this done and that.. Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks smile.gif

Philippinesmedical exam schedule
You may also want to consider hotel fees and meals while waiting in Manila versus just flying back home until the interview. My fiancee is from Cebu and it was actually cheaper for her to fly home, then back again versus just staying there until the interview.
The hotels near the clinic and embassy can get costly, then you add your food bill on top of that too.
Just a thought....good luck.

Just had my last conversation with my fiancee. She just walked out the door and headed to the USEM to find her place in line. 7am at gate 2. Alas, the final step in a maddening maze of misinformation, stress, money and patience.

PhilippinesAir21 tracking number problems...
QUOTE (GD21 @ Sep 2 2009, 10:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
From what I understand it's not in the system yet. Just like if you fill out a fedex at work with tracking ABCD. It's not going to be on the fedex site until that package is picked up by Fedex. Once Fedex scans it it'll appear in the system. They haven't been picked up yet from the embassy. Based on timelines I've seen I'm thinking in about 3 days the tracking will show.

Hear my girl entertained your girl by screaming through and then leaving early from final destination yesterday. LOL no0pb.gif

Alright then. As you can tell i'm a little impatient already...lol.
Yeah, my girl told me that your woman was umm, INTO the movie! laughing.gif She said that she was super cool and they had a great time though. She says she can't wait to meet her in Texas!

PhilippinesAir21 tracking number problems...
As most of you know my fiancee passed her interview yesterday in Manila. They gave her a tracking number with Air21 so she could track the progress of her visa. Well she just tried to use the tracking number on the Air21 website and it says "invalid number".
Has anyone else had this happen? I know it's only been a little over 24 hours but shouldn't a tracking number be automatically in their system already? I mean that's what a tracking number is!

PhilippinesLetter of appointment
The guard let my fiancee in without the appointment letter, but the lady inside asked for it. It's basically up to you whether you want to risk needing it but not having it. IMO it's best to go after you have called USEM and set the interview date, at which point they will email the appointment letter for printing.
rockhouseMalePhilippines2009-09-03 12:51:00
PhilippinesOnce and for all!!!
^Correct. I think it was a typo cause she read that my fiancee is from Cebu.
rockhouseMalePhilippines2009-08-12 16:09:00
PhilippinesOnce and for all!!!
Haha, wow. Once again it seems there are 2 different versions. Some say NVC letter and NOA2, others say to bring the embassy the email print-out. I guess i'm back to that plan since there seems to be no consistency to their methods over there at USEM/St. Lukes, and i don't want her to be turned away for lack of the "letter".

After re-reading the above thread in the link, along with my fiancee who can help me to understand the intended meaning of what the girl is actually saying, i am going to let my fiancee fly to do the medical with the NOA2 and NVC letter.

A lot of what i read here is very subjective due to the English language being second to the filipinas here.

PhilippinesOnce and for all!!!
Here is a link to an old thread i searched for. In it she breaks down the whole medical experience. She explains that the guard keeps asking for the "Appointment Letter".
OK!!! Once and for all!....CAN MY FIANCEE TAKE THE MEDICAL EXAM WITH A SCANNED COPY OF NOA2, AND THE NVC LETTER WITH MNL NUMBER???!!

She is from Cebu. She wants to get the medical over with. I don't want her to get there and have some guard turn her away cause she doesn't have the "appointment letter".
Please, if a few people can testify that they did the medical WITHOUT the "appointment letter"....then i can leave yall alone about it. wacko.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion about AOS removal of conditions cost and second biometrics...Hey
I tried bumping an old thread to ask my question, but i think i'll get a quicker answer in a new thread...

My wife's 2 year GC anniversary is coming up early next year, and we are trying to budget her AOS ROC and second biometrics appointment.

We have heard that the AOS ROC is about $600. We were also wondering if the second biometrics is included in that price, or if we have to schedule that ourselves separately and pay additionally for it.

Also, is the second biometrics even mandatory?

Thanks for any info.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBiometrics - a second time????
I'm bumping this old thread to ask an additional question regarding the second biometrics for ROC of the AOS.

Does the $590 ROC include the second biometrics fee, or do we set that up and pay for it separately?

My wife is approaching her 2 year GC anniversary early next year and we are trying to budget a total cost for the ROC of the AOS, so thanks for any info.

PhilippinesCFO, Parental Consent, etc...?
Those links helped, thanks. Lol, i think most people here in USA think that guys like me who marry filipinas do so because we are trying to take the easy route of finding and getting a wife. This $hit is a major hassle! I'll tell you whats easy, going down to the local bar or park and meeting some local woman to marry!
Guys like us are like the green berets of marriage! Anyway, when i spend time with my filipina girl i know that ANYTHING is worth having her!
TCO i may Pm you later on with some questions, thanks bro.

PhilippinesCFO, Parental Consent, etc...?
Hey all, I'm confused as to what exactly me and my fiance have to do before she can leave the PI. I have not even filed the K1 application as of yet, but i would like to know ahead of time EXACTLY what is required as far as the CFO and all that is concerned.
My fiance will be 20 years old at the time of her interview, and we plan on marrying here in Texas.
So if someone could maybe post some kind of flow chart showing the step by step process, as i have read conflicting things in here with regards to what has to happen for her to leave and marry me.
For instance, do I have to go to the PI and attend a marriage course before she can leave? Does she need a Parental Consent Affidavit? Do we have to be interviewed by a priest before she can marry me? I am unsure as to what actually has to happen!
Any firsthand knowledge is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
*PS...she is from Talisay City, Cebu.

So i guess i'm in the same boat also. My fiance will be 20 in Feb. So that means i'm gonna need a parental consent form AND a letter from a priest? Do i have to be present for any of that stuff being signed? Do i have to attend marriage counseling classes in the philippines? Man, this is a trip.

Looks like a great place to Bass Fish.

It would be cool to drag a Buzzbait thru there early in the morning.

A Rapala jointed shad rap topwater lure will get you a 2 pounder in a jiffy! star_smile.gif

You dont' know too much about bass fishing. Can't believe a Filipino Californian knows more about bass baits than a pair of Texans. Listen, boys, the best bait in lily pads and heavy vegetation is a weedless spoon dressed with a skirt of nylon, pork rind or plastic. good.gif good.gif

I havent fished many lilypads, but for the stumpy bottoms i fish plastic worms are the way to go.

there's a water complex in phil that serves wakeboarding etc and thats in camarines sur. been there 3 times coz my hubby loves the water sports... anyways im a beginner per se. i just learned how to cross toe side in and out of the wake consistently this summer. heel side edge is easier for me to do. maybe wakeboard 10 times total (min of 5-min-10 on the water. really tiring lol)... anyways, i thought a wake jump is really cool even though im not ready yet. but i tried anyways and it was awful. my husband and the rest of our friends in the boat was sacred to death coz i crashed the hardest and weirdest way... i got bruises on my ear, swelling, and an injured rib that even now it still gona hurt if i twist my body in a wrong way lol... thats why wakeskating sometimes is cool coz when you crash, its not as real bad compared to wakeboarding... though both of them are cool... so excited of your girl to try it... tough at first but she'll love it in the end!

LOL, yeah, wait till you try W2W and catch an edge on your landing! Its like being in a car wreck!......but you gotta keep pushing yourself to progress! Never give up!!!

Yeah, i think that living here in US, with our way of life, it affords us leisure time to pursue things like swimming, wakebaording and such. If we struggled daily just to make sure our family would eat that day, we wouldnt have time for fun stuff.
I know my baby will love it here. There is so much fun stuff i will teach her and show her....i cant wait!!!

I was just curious as to how many of you filipinas can swim? My filipina sweetheart is still in Cebu and she and most of her family/friends cant swim! Living in Texas it is a necessity to know how to swim as it gets so darn hot here! Also, i want to teach her to wakeboard when she gets here....so how many of you pinay's can swim? And to the ones that learned once they got here, was it easy for you to learn? Im just curious...thanx yall! smile.gif

to be honest i cant say "I CAN SWIM" w/ confidence blush.gif ... im scared on deep waters. although i have swimming lessons when i was a kid, then came college too and i even had a lesson here in the US lol. but still i have that fear in me. so i always wear a vest (coast guard approved most of the time, kind of vest) whenever i wakeboard/wakeskate/wakesurf on the lake... i can swim ok when i can stand on water but when its deeper, i get paranoid... when we were surfing in phil (siargao), i was the only one who's wearing a vest. not coast guard approved but it helped me float a little (its a bit embarrassing but better safe than sorry)... dont worry, if its just wakeboarding she really doesnt have to know how to swim on deep water coz she'll wear a vest (sports type of vest that fit her well)... good luck

God bless all!

Yeah, i was really happy when i saw yalls profile. It was nice to see a filipina actually wakeboarding! My girl is adventurous too and wants to learn also! When i was in Cebu i showed them a wakeboard/skate video called "push process". Everyone there was just in total amazement of the tricks....but hell, so am i! Just remember that the more time in the water, the more natural it will feel! Keep up the active lifestyle girl, looks like your having fun!
And remember to progressive edge into the wake! LOL.

That gives you something to work on with her..hehehe... im from cebu, and livin in this lil island in some way gives me this feelin of like, takin the waters for granted- di bitaw na mo dagan.....adding up this 'color issue'.. a lot of filipinas are so scared of getting dark or darker..hehe.. lots of girls here are ate up with whitening products and wouldnt want to waste such effort to go to the beach and swim under the sun..hehe...eventually getting scared of the waters cuz of less exposure.. well at least this is based on my experience..hehehe... di ganahan mo lagom..

with your sweetheart hmmm sounds like you got alot of work to do.. yes.gif ..hehe..

have heard Texas is also called the 'New Philippines'... is it because of the temp?.. how hot does it get there? (in Celsius please..hehe)

Yeah, i actually brought her a cute, little, pink wakeboard vest, so she could wear it while i tried to teach her to swim. It kept her from sinking, but doesnt quite keep her mouth from dipping below the surface. That way she has to learn to tread water to keep her head up and doesnt just rely on the flotation alone.
She did really well with me in the water with her. The main thing is to not panic and remain calm in the element. I was only there for 2 weeks, so it wasnt long enough to teach her everything! I was very proud of her though! As to the question about the heat in Texas, it stays up around 100 F for most of the summer, i dont know the C conversion....sorry! I compare the heat in Cebu to a typical summer day in Houston, TX. Anyway, all you filipinas should get out in the sun and water and enjoy it! Yall have such beautiful skin! Dont worry about getting dark! Its sexy!

I was really shocked at how many filipinos dont swim when i visited there. I was swimming all around out in the deep blue water, checkin out all the badass coral and fish. They have such an awesome world of wonder right out their backyards, but dont seem to take advantage! I think maybe not wanting to get real dark skinned keeps them from going into the water and sun for long periods, so they never spend enough time in it to learn.
Hopefully my love will learn quickly and learn to enjoy it as much as we do! And anyway, the dark skin is rather sexy to me!
