PhilippinesNOA2 to NVC to USEM...how long?
I was wondering if some of yall that have already made it to the interview or medical could tell me how long it took from the NOA2 to NVC to contact from USEM.
I was wanting to get a general average of what the wait might possibly be for us.
Thanks alot! smile.gif

PhilippinesSt. Lukes pulling the "Dark Spot on the X-ray" result
I'm curious if the filipinas that have bad x-ray results were/are smokers, or have had pneumonia or colds alot, or are generally coughing alot. Maybe some of you that had bad x-ray results can share your background, health-wise.
My fiancee seems to get a cold every other month. She has never had pneumonia, and she exercises daily and drinks lot's of water, but these x-ray stories scare me as my finacee's medical will be soon.

Thanks.

PhilippinesMedical Exam Question
QUOTE (MikeeLucyForever @ Aug 12 2009, 05:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
No need to call St. Luke, you'll save money for not doing that. I can assure you that one scanned copy of any of the following (NOA2, NVC letter or the appointment letter) will do. It is important that the document you bring has a Manila Case Number to it because that is needed. When I had my interview there was a whole family there who didn't have anything but they told the guard that they know their Manila Case Number, the guard allowed them to go inside.

When you go there in the morning, there are people outside who will tell you that you really need have your appointment letter and sometimes they might even try to tell you that your pictures are wrong in size, that is because they have photocopier and photo studio on the other side of the road, so don't let them worry you.

To the OP don't forget to let your fiancee bring the pictures, passport and a pen too.

Finally a post that seems reliable! Thank you so much. I will let her go with the NVC letter with MNL, and the NOA2 letter. good.gif

PhilippinesMedical Exam Question
I have been told that a scanned copy of the hard-copy NOA2, the NVC letter with MNL number and passport pics are what you need to get in.
I have been going in circles though because others have told me that you must have the USEM "appointment letter" also to get in for the medical.
I am going to call St. Lukes tonight and find out once and for all what is needed to get you in. I'll post the results after i talk to them...if they answer!

PhilippinesHow would this work?...
Ahhhh, ok. I see. Thanks for straightening me out on that.

Hey Matt & Bing. Did you call 2 different places for the interview set-up? 1 to see if it "qualified" and 1 to set up the PIN account and interview?
rockhouseMalePhilippines2009-08-13 16:49:00
PhilippinesHow would this work?...
Doesn't USEM send some stuff to the fiancee to fill out? I thought they send a packet of documents and instructions for her to fill out and bring to the interview.
rockhouseMalePhilippines2009-08-13 16:31:00
PhilippinesHow would this work?...
Say you called the USEM and set up an interview for September 1st, (even though you hadn't gotten all the packets sent from the Embassy yet), because the rep didn't ask or you lied and said that you did or whatever.
What would happen if the interview date came and for some reason you still didn't have the packets sent from USEM?
I'm asking because some people have set dates without receiving anything from USEM. What happens if the interview date rolls around but you don't have anything from the embassy?
Would they just let you fill them out there at the embassy? I guess they would just have you reschedule the interview until you had all the necessary documents.
I am just curious about it in case i somehow get to schedule an interview early like some have. I want to make enough time for my fiancee to get their packets and have it all filled out and ready.
Thanks.

Lol. You sound like me. I am so fed up with this BS visa process. I'm almost 200 days into it. I called the USEM yesterday and some ####### said they have our case, but to wait 2 weeks and call back. I literally just sat here flexing like the hulk for like 20 seconds until my eyes almost exploded after i heard that.
I called back and some ####### who was rude as hell told me the same thing and wouldn't answer my questions.
You're in for a bumpy ride if you have as little patience as i got.

PM me if you need any info.
Good luck.

Relax, man. The American Embassy does not act on a visa application before its time. Your words might make you an Ugly American and we Filipinos don't care much for Ugly Americans! good.gif

Well, the first guy i spoke to giggled like a woman and was very effeminate, (believe me i've had enough of them flirt with me in Cebu to know), and the second guy was rude and didn't want to answer my questions. Hence, 1 ####### and 1 #######.
Anyway, i was basically trying to find out from them why other people's cases that are on the same time-line as mine, and have just recently been logged into their system like mine, could get interview dates so easily, while i was basically told to hang-up and call back in 2 weeks....it's very frustrating.
Sorry for the rant. It's nothing against the Filipino people, just those 2 guys.

PhilippinesPRAISE GOD....FINALLY!!!!
"Congrats!!
Just curious. Is the September 2 a date they gave you or a date you picked? Does it mean you have to go to the embassy exactly on that date?"

I picked the date. They told her to be there by 7 am sharp on the 2nd.

"well my fiance called last monday they said that they got the package from the NVC last aug 7 and he was trying to make an appointment but was told to call in 2 weeks..

can i do the scheduling??\
can i have the # to call??"

Keep calling them daily if you can. One day they said wait 2 weeks, the next they gave me an interview date. You will pick the date from a list they will offer you. Calling from USA the number is 888-877-9888. Follow the voice prompts, have your visa card ready, and set up a PIN # account to talk to a real person for the scheduling.

Good luck yall. good.gif

Well yesterday when i called the USEM twice, both guys told me that our case was in their system, but wasn't "qualified" for an interview date.
They both told me to call back in 2 weeks to inquire again.
There was no way i was gonna wait that long, so i called them again just now and my girl has an interview date on Sept. 2nd!!!!
FINALLY we feel like we can see the finish line! I just wanted to let yall know to keep calling them to check daily because obviously it can make a difference!

so your fiancee is having her medical soon? We're probably going to wait until we have the USEM letter, do you know the average time it usually gets to the beneficiary? Seems like it's taking forever lol.

Oh btw, have you called the embassy yet?

Well, she was going to do the medical next week to get it done, but some people say they won't let her in without the USEM "letter", and some say the NVC case # and NOA2 is all thats needed, so i don't know what the hell we will do. I guess i will call the embassy soon and inquire about our case and set the interview. That way we get the email "letter" and then there should be NO problems getting into the medical.

I really wish the USEM or St. Lukes had ONE way of doing it. It's really so frustrating not knowing for sure which route could be taken to get the medical done fastest.

it is actually convinient to have the medical without her period. but it also ok to have it during her period.
My wife went there during her period, she was just asked to return after her period.

There's alot of period in this.. hahaha

Anyway, I have always heard that a period will screw up the medical exam process.....hey GD21, when is your girl planning on the medical? Mine's going on Wed. the 19th.

PhilippinesCFO question...
Am i the only one that seems to see multiple contradictions in every thread? It seems that basically there are no rules to any of this process because so many people seem to do it their own way.

I guess i will make it as simple as i can....If anyone reading this has done exactly what i am about to type, please respond.

Can my fiancee go to the CFO in Cebu before her interview with her passport and or a copy of her passport, the scanned NOA2 letter, and the CENOMAR, get registered to take the CFO seminar, take the CFO seminar, go to USEM for interview, come back to the Cebu CFO, and receive the CFO sticker on her passport/visa?
Thanks.

rockhouseMalePhilippines2009-08-14 20:34:00
PhilippinesCFO question...
Ok, here's what's listed as needed to register for the CFO:

1. Original valid passport;
2. Original and photocopy of visa;
3. One (1) 2x2 or passport-size photograph;
4. One (1) valid identification card with photograph;
5. Original and photocopy of Confirmation of Permanent Residence (for CANADA-bound emigrant);
6. Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary (for USA bound emigrant);
7. Original and photocopy of letter of approval for Work to Residence visa (for New Zealand bound emigrants);
8. Photocopy of employment contract(for immigrant workers);
9. Duly completed registration form (downloadable at www.cfo.gov.ph);
10. Payment of P400.00 registration fee; and
11. Attendance in the PDOS or peer counseling session;

Number 1? I thought a copy of the passport is fine. Number 2? I thought the CFO could be taken BEFORE the interview! And what is number 6?

Here we go again.... three women that my fiancee works-out with at the gym told her that she will need a copy of MY passport to take the CFO. Is that true? I thought all the CFO needed was HER passport, a copy of NOA2, and maybe the NVC letter.
Anybody know what's actually needed....as in someone that has done it and actually knows?
Thanks.

I asked her parents in person. It seemed just as nervous for them as for me i think. It was all cool though and they seemed happy that i did it. The main thing was trying to explain the whole K1 process. I told them we will come back ASAP and have a wedding in Cebu so all of her family can come.

I also gave her dad a boar tusk necklace i made.
We joke about it now.

Me: "Me give you boar tusk necklace for daughter!"
Him: "HHMMMM, Good trade! Take her and go!"

^Yep. The NVC letter with the MNL # can be snailed or scanned and emailed to her. The guard will need the MNL to let her in. Once inside she will need the "appointment letter" email that was sent when you set up the interview. Just scan it and email it to your girl.
Good luck.

Oh so we will need to setup the interview before trying to get the medical done then?
I was thinking we could have the Medical started by Friday/Monday of this week/next week then schedule an interview so we could try to opt for the earliest available interview.

This was a point of interest to me as well. I started a previous thread on it, and got different answers from different people. I eventually got frustrated and decided to just wait for the interview set-up so she could have both the NVC letter AND the "appointment letter".
My girl said that she wasn't sure if only the NVC letter was good enough because although the guard at the entrance only wanted her NVC letter, the first lady she went to inside the clinic asked her for the appointment letter from the embassy.
It's basically your call as to whether or not you want to risk going down there with only the NVC letter.
