Hello everybody my fiancé has started to panic because we were originally under the impression that we send the initial |-129F package to the Vermont Service Centre. She lives in Texas, now she's started reading other conflicting information from other websites which direct us to send it to the Texas Service Centre, so if someone could give us some peace of mind and clarification as to where we send it, that would be much appreciated.

JackAndWhitney

Texas does not do 1-129F's right now, so what you are reading other places is either old info or just plain wrong.

Thank you for the quick response, so Vermont Service Centre it is?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A, can you abbreviate?
On the G-325A can we abbreviate countries with the correct acronyms, I.E United Kingdom - UK etc, because it will not fit when typed in full. Thank you.

P.S., did anyone else have a hard time typing in the birthdays because they just won't fit. Is there any way to make them fit?

JackAndWhitney, thanks for your help guys!

Well, I made a photocopy, but the backside took up the entire backside, but it is blank except for the single red digits at the bottom. Would they have a problem with me writing the heading at the top, even though the entire page is used up, but is blank? Or would I have to resize it so they see the entire copy without markings on it?

Please ignore everything posted above. What I wanted to know is can I copy my birth certificate using 2 sided copying with the copy machine here at work, so that my birth certificate doesn't have to be 2 pages & I do not have to list the backside of my birth certificate as an attachment.

Can we instead copy the Birth Certificate on one page, the front on one side, and the back on the opposing side of the paper, so it isn't two pages?

Would appreciate an answer, this whole thing is so damn confusing.

Edit: If we can have the Birth Certificate on one page, (Each side having on side of the Birth Certificate on it) how do we go about labelling the backside so it is clear to the person looking through it what it is?

Thank you.

Alright, another issue has arisen. I was strolling the forum & stumbled upon a thread asking if calling card receipts were valid evidence. Of course, the answer was no, but my fiance & I communicate using them. I have spent a little over 1,000 dollars on calling cards to call him over the past, oh, 6 months.

Well, I believe that the calling card company I used will not give me detailed call reports without a court subpoena, so that leaves us only with 2 letters, 3 cards, 1 month of call logs from my phone company before I discovered calling cards (I called everyday about 3 times a day for a full month & the call records show that), & a ton of e-mails back & forth over the span of our relationship. I also have several pictures of us together, but I think that goes more towards proof of having met.

Do you think this is enough, or will we get an RFE?

Thanks in advance.

You won't get an RFE. The only thing USCIS requires with the petition is proof that you've met each other face to face. Calling card, call logs, emails, letters, cards, etc. do NOT prove this at all. In fact, they are evidence you were NOT together when you were communicating. This sort of thing is proof of an ongoing relationship. With some consulates, it's highly advisable to include some of this evidence with the petition, especially if it helps to address "red flags" in your case. I've never heard of this being required or even helpful at the US Embassy in London. Include this stuff if you like, but make sure you've covered the bases with proof of having met first. It would suck to send in 50 pages of emails and chat logs and then get an RFE because you didn't include enough boarding passes or passport stamps.

Another question.

I have made copies of my birth certificate, but I read that they want copies of the front & back alike. Well, mine is blank on the back side, except for a 6 digit number in red at the bottom of the certificate. Do they want a copy of this also, & if so, since it will be a blank copy except for those small digits, should I label what it is?

Thank you in advance.

Absolutely, send copies of both sides. They specifically ask for this. If there's nothing on the back side, then they want to know that. My birth certificate also only has a number on the back printed in red.

I scanned every document copy I sent. I printed the scans in color on a page with a heading at the top of the page containing my name, the attachment number, and what specifically the page contained (i.e., "Petitoner's birth certificate, back side").

Should I put this on my cover letter? I mean, if they have already asked for both sides, should it say on my cover letter that there is 2 pages, the front & back side? Also, instead of making a page with a heading, can I put a post-it upon the page that just states "Petitioner's birth certificate; back side"? I just would rather not waste paper & confuse them more by printing out a titled page for it, & paperclip them together.

For now the emails and cards and plane tickets will be fine. You just need to prove you met in the last 2 years at this stage.

I would however for the future try to send more emails so that you have a written record of the relationship which not only prove you talked over the months of processing but also what you talked about, establishing a more accurate picture of your relationship. Then you can take a sample to the interview and be prepared to show it (although its highly likely they won't even ask to see it sad.gif)

Yes, we e-mail each other a few times a week, & we're always talking about our future & things of that effect, but mostly they're about the K-1 process & checking everything over. I'm relieved that the cards, e-mails & proof of meeting should be enough. We also recently bought the engagement ring while he was here visiting in the US, so that is another scrap of evidence that should help. (The receipt that is, haha.)

Now, when it comes time to sheet my G325A's & my proof of having met Jack in person in the last 2 years (we have a few plane ticket copies, stubs, & receipts.) should I sleeve them all separately or together in one sleeve? I don't know if it makes a difference or not, I just wanna make this as easy as I can on the person working my case.

Hi,

Provided that the police certificate is just for the UK, you can obtain it from ACPO in a couple of weeks: http://www.acpo.poli...ertificates.asp

If your GP provided you with all the shots then you should be able to obtain a vaccination record from them which you should take to your medical. If you do require any of the shots, your GP should be able to do them or they can be done at the medical.

You will need the full birth certificate that shows your parents details for your interview. You can obtain it, either from the local Registrar from the district that you were bon in or online from the General Register Office: http://www.gro.gov.u...t/certificates/

Hope this helps!

Dom

Yes, it's just for the UK; thanks for the link(s). Do you have any idea which shots I will need? Or is there a way of finding out? Or is it merely a matter of making an appointment with my GP and asking him to update me with all my shots, if so, is it normally all done at once?

Thank you for the information, you've both been a lot of help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEnglish Beneficiaries - Need Your Help!
As the topic said, I'm curious about English K-1'ers. I'm just interested in asking some general questions:

- When I need to get a Police report for my interview, is that a essentially CRB cheque? If so, do I need to go back to places I've lived in the past five years and get one from each Police station? (I'm not sure how that works)

- I was told I need a list of vaccinations/shots I've already had, how will I go about obtaining this? Would it be obtainable by asking my GP for the information?

- And last of all; Will I need my birth certificate for the interview? If so, I only have my smaller original birth certificate, I don't have the original larger copy, will this effect its validity?

Much oblidged to any answers I receive, thanks in advance.

Usual process for K1s is that the NVC forwards the approved petition to the USEM, who then log the receipt and then contact your fiancee with 'packet 3' which often is not a packet, but a letter directing them to a website with further instructions/ forms/ etc.

Who you contact depends on the procedure with your USEM, but try contacting them to see if they've received your petition and sent packet 3 yet.

Posting in the PI forum will help you get regionally specific information about what to do from here yes.gif

Good luck!

Hello everyone!

I received a letter from NVC around Nov. 3, 2009, stating our case has been approved and that we were given the case number that starts with MNL...... they said they will send instructions to to my girl in the Philippines... It has been almost two weeks now, yet my girl doesn't receive any yet.

I could see that there are a lot here who already have their interview schedule by December. Will my girl wait for that packet from the NVC to schedule an interview? Or she can call USEM ?

Thank you for any assistance I could get from here. Have a great day everyone! God bless us all!

Hello all, I received my NOA2 form recently. And I'm about to complete the I-134 form. I am a US citizen currently living in Japan, but I'll be moving back next month. On the support records I can show that I worked full time in Japan for the past few months and have a US bank account and enough funds to provide, however my employer the past few months is Japanese, not American. Will that be a problem with the form as it asks for a US address?

Not a problem where you lived before. You are now in the US? You must list a permanent US address on the I-129f. It can be a relative if desired. Showing you worked in Japan is OK but worthless for providing support. Money in the bank must equal three times the annual income required...about $60,000 right now. If youhave that...no worries. Otherwise youwill need a CURRENT job which exceeds the guidelines or a co-sponsor.

Thank you for the reply!

No, still in Japan for another month. No employment stateside yet (although it shouldn't be a problem ONCE I'm there) but it seems to be that a co-sponsor is my best option and I have no problem finding that. Thank you. I'll inform my soon to be co-sponsor smile.gif

This is kind of a repost - already asked for opinions in the CR1 section, and came to a conclusion that this would be the smarter path for my fiance and myself.

I am a US citizen, and my fiance is a South African citizen. He's currently working on a island as a dive instructor. I have been doing research on the different visas, and i've come to a conclusion that the K1 is probably the best one for our situation. The waiting period seems to be much shorter than filing with the CR1. Is there anyway he could come any sooner while everything is being processed? Any suggestions? Thank you soooooo much, this is starting to become very overwhelming. Also, has anybody hired a attorney/lawyer to do the filing for their k1? Did it slow down the process at all?

Thanks for everyones time.

They usually do nothing.

About 50% of the time a Service Request will get an idle petition approved (stats from my lawyer - plus it happened to us).
We were approved the day after a service request was received by CSC.

Yes, the service request was the highlight of the experience.
I'm hoping for just what you say: an approval very soon after this.

I figure between my Senator's request, this service request, and calling VSC, SOMETHING should happen soon.
NatPatBenFemaleJamaica2009-06-04 17:44:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInfopass Experience
I'm 3 weeks shy of hitting the 6-month mark, but since VSC already started approving February filers, I decided to take more steps to figure out why my petition hasn't been actioned upon.

Plus, my congressman's office told me yesterday that I'd get a faster response with an Infopass appointment than if they submitted a request on my behalf.

I easily scheduled an 11:15AM infopass appointment at USCIS's website: http://infopass.uscis.gov/

I got there a few minutes early & went through security. The signs say that no cameras or cell phones are allowed, but they let you bring in your cell phone if you turn it off. I wish I had known that before leaving mine in the car.

Then you check in at the front window. I was giving a number, C48. When I asked for the typical wait time, the guy said he didn't know.

There was a huge room where different things happened in different sections. You saw the deportation section in one corner, the naturalization section in another, and the infopass section including 10 windows in a third. Don't think that there were 10 people working at those 10 windows; there were 2. Those 2 left for lunch at noon & 2 more replaced them. I was hoping a whole bunch of people would fill the windows after lunch, but nope!

So I sit near the deportation section (which was a really depressing place to sit, as the people talking there did not have happy stories) and look at the monitor. It shows the numbers that were worked on at each window. I could see that they last called up A11 and C42. I thought there were 5 more people ahead of me since I was C48, but I was wrong. I guess people were called in the order they arrived, but you have no way of knowing how many people arrived before you. The order of people called went something like: A12, A13, C43, C44, B26, C45, A14, C46, C47, A15, B27, C48.

It was SO FRUSTRATING watching the people who worked there. YOu could see them behind their glass windows. Every time they assisted someone, they'd then take 10-15 minutes before seeing the next person. WHAT ARE THEY DOING? I wondered a million times. From what I could see, they'd talk to each other, get up & walk around, and straighten stacks of paper. I promise. I watched this one woman straighten a stack of paper at least 3 times between seeing people. SOOOOOO frustrating to see what my tax dollars pay for.

I got called up to a window at about 12:50. Finally! The lady asked me for my ID, # (C48), appointment letter, and NOA1. Then she asked how she could help me. I said that I hope she can give me information on why my case is taking longer than so many others to be worked. She spent a minute typing stuff in the computer, then said that she'll submit a service request. She had me write my email address on the form they give you when you arrive. Another minute of typing, then she gave me the form with the service request reference code. It says that I should receive a response by July 4.

I asked her, if I have a future infopass appointment, what time should I schedule to minimize the wait. She said first thing in the morning, around 7am.

Then I left!

So in 1 hr and 45 minutes, they saw a total of 12 people, including me. Considering that there were 2 people working at all times, that's about 15 minutes per person, even though only 5 minutes is spent with the person. Ridiculous.
