Why would you assume that? The I-129F is prepared by the USC and part "C" asks questions about the petitioner

The criminal record is on me the petitioner.

I had did have an arrest and conviction 1time in the mid 70's for a controlled substance. The question ask if you had 3 or more arrests so I answered the question no. Can anyone tell me what might happen when they do the background check and find this arrest? Will they ask for any documentation and if they do what kind of documentation.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-Sponsor support document

Hi Chris,

I also have a co-sponsor during my interview in US embassy Manila and I got my visa. I think it all depends on the case, my husband who is my fiancé that time was a graduate student, just make sure you will be able to show that she won't be in any way be a burden in the US government.

Good luck!

Thank you for your response. Yes I believe I will be able to show through my savings and the co-sponsor for support that we would not pose a financial burden to the U.S. Congratulations on obtaining your visa and I wish you and your fiance the best.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-Sponsor support document

Manila rarely accepts joint sponsors for a K visa. Are you a full time student?

No I'm not a student. I was retired but since the economy went belly up I need to return to work. My savings acct. is such that I have enough for over 3 years of the required support amount for 2 people. That is why I was hoping that a co-sponsor would be all I needed to get the visa and then find a job.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-Sponsor support document
Hello all, has anyone used a co-sponsor on a support document to obtain a finance visa. I don't have a job now but I do have money in bank. We both plan on working but jobs are scarce right now. Or visa should be coming up for NAO2 approval soon so we would probably need a co-sponsor for support. I have a family member that will supply this document and has the money to support the 4 of us. So the bottom line question is should this be a problem? Also what is the forms we need to fill out for sponsor and co-sponsor?
Thanks

You should be ok as long as annulment papers are ready to be presented :D

Thank you for the reply and the words of encouragement.
Just wondering how they will react if they read my Finalization of my annulment.
Especially if they see the reason Psychological Incapacitated and knowing my X is the one who filed the annulment because I cant help him during the time we want the annulment materialize ( I have monetary problem that time). Well, as you know most of the annulment here in the Philippines is can be arrange (pre-paid) of course the other should "look so bad" so that it can be believable.
So this one thing makes me disturb most of the time.
Anyone here have the same experience like mine?
Can share it to me. or Pm me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance status (Annulment)
Hello All, we have another question about the Fiance Visa. My Fiance has been annulled for a couple of years now. Has anyone run into a problem with approvals with Fiance Visa's when your Fiance has been annulled? My Fiance also has 3 children whom will not be joining us right away. Two of them are in college and 1 is in his 3rd year of High School. There father wants them to finish school in the philippines. Will any of this pose a problem with visa acceptance? What kind of questions might be asked of my fiance when she goes to her interview about her annulment or leaving her children in the philippines to finish their schooling?
Thanks Again

So why does the manila embassy not accept co-sponsors if that is an approved govt. process for showing support? We too are in the same problem with no job but have a co-sponsor. If I have 3 times the amount above poverty line in the my bank and IRA's will this be accepted. Should we have the co-sponor as back up. I hope to have a job but we have our NAO2 now and I don't know if I will have a job in time before the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof I Was In Ukraine?
I will be going to Ukraine on May 7th. I would like to know what all I can do while I'm there to help prove my case that I was actually in Ukraine for when I mail in my K-1 application. Someone mentioned that I should register with the US Embassy while I'm there. Will this prove anything? Any other tips? I will be staying with my fiancee and her family, so unfortunately there will be no hotel receipts. So I'm planning ahead to accumulate all the proof I can. Thanks for any help!

It depends on what is on the backs of the documents. If it's just an apostille, no. If it is material to the document itself, yes.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForwarding Petitions to Lockbox?

No, petitions filed during the transition period will be forwarded. But, according to that attorney's blog, it may cause a delay of 6 to 8 weeks, based on what has happened to other petition types when they've transitioned to the lockbox system.

When I said "improperly filed petitions" I was referring specifically to petitions that were filed with a service center after the updated filing instructions are posted in June and before the grace period expires for the service center to automatically forward them. In re-reading the attorney's article, it looks like he thinks the potential delays have already begun, since USCIS has already begun forwarding petitions to the lockbox, though it's not clear when USCIS actually began doing this, or if all petitions are currently affected by this. If we see a rash of people not getting timely NOA1's (I've seen a few posted already) then we'll know...

Thanks for the clarification. I guess all I can do is wait and see!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForwarding Petitions to Lockbox?
Thanks everyone for the replies

Though USCIS will forward improperly filed petitions to the lockbox during the transition period, at least one lawyer's blog says you can probably expect this would add a 6 to 8 week delay to your petition processing, based on prior performance by USCIS when transitioning other forms to the lockbox.

http://www.masudafun....aspx?Show=5833

That's what I was afraid of. When you say improperly filed petitions will be sent to the lockbox, do you mean that those that are properly filed will not forwarded during the transition period?

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForwarding Petitions to Lockbox?

So I called to check what this new change means. It means that only future applications will be sent to the lock boxes and then will be further sent to the appropriate services centers. She didn't say why they were doing this but that if your application has already been at the California Center and started being processed there, it will continue to be processed there ( not at any other lock boxes of sorts).

Thanks for the reply. I just sent mine last Wednesday, so I assume mine will be forwarded to the lockbox. I just wonder if this is a good or bad thing as far as the speed of the processing goes. Either way, I assume it will not effect it TOO much, but every little bit counts when waiting to bring ones loved one to be with them!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForwarding Petitions to Lockbox?
http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

I'm curious if someone can explain what the above link actually means for the visa process. I just mailed my petition in last Wednesday, so I am curious what to expect. First, I'm in Texas, so should I expect them to forward my petition which I sent to Vermont back here to Texas? Secondly, does this mean they now have two more centers processing petitions for a total of 4? If so, that would likely shorten the waiting period, correct? Or are they merely using these TX and AZ centers to process the intake? To me this would add an extra step in the process and would lengthen the waiting period a little. In short, can someone please just explain how this will impact my petition?

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShould My Fiancee Have A Job?
My fiancee (the beneficiary) currently works but her job is very hard and she doesn't get home until like 9 pm every night. I would like for her to quit, but I wanted to find out how this would affect our visa. I am the USC and I currently make barely enough to meet the financial requirements (around 19,000 a year). I have my mother and/or father as cosponsors so as far as I know that's not a problem. But perhaps the consular will determine that we are a risk for becoming a public charge and look at whether the beneficiary has a job as a way to determine if she can contribute to our family? She has two degrees and working here in the U.S. will be no problem, but I'm not sure how they judge these sorts of things. So my question is if she quits her job, could that negatively impact our chances of getting our visa approved?

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThey Cashed My Check Already

If it is any consolation, after sending in our I-129 to Vermont, the VSC fell one month behind in processing, as compared with CSC. Now, they are only about two weeks behind. So, VSC is clawing their way back to parity with CSC. Maybe they are worried about bragging rights at the 4th of July company picnic?

Good luck!

My Sweetie goes for her medical exam next week, and then for the interview on July 6th! :)

Actually that is rather good news considering how quickly yours was approved even during a time that they were a month behind. How do you know they are 2 weeks behind? Where can I find this information? I'd like to be able to track this if possible!

Thanks and congratulations on the approval and good luck at your interview!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThey Cashed My Check Already

This happened to me, too, though I'm a CSC filer. I mailed the I129F May 18th, it was received by the CSC the 19th but the check cleared in Texas and the NOA1 was dated 5/25. The notice does say it was received 5/19, though, which made me feel better for some reason. :) Our file was "touched" yesterday--maybe that means it's back at the CSC again but of course there's no way to know that. Wishful thinking on my part, I guess. These changes must be why the CSC was so quiet the week of May 18th.

Good luck everyone!

Yeah, it's kind of a bummer that we won't know when our petition makes it back to the original service center (Vermont in my case). I just hope it doesn't sit around at the Texas center collecting dust before they send it back. Oh well, nothing I can do about it!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThey Cashed My Check Already

I-129F petitions for alien fiances are only processed at Vermont Service Center or California Service Center. They are not forwarded to any lockbox. It will stay at Vermont until it is approved.

Your receipt number that you can use to check your case status on the USCIS website should start with EAC.

It seems that they've made a change. You can read the link below. It's unfortunate timing for myself especially since some believe it will cause delays in the process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThey Cashed My Check Already

The case number will be written on the 1st NOA you'll get from USCIS. I never heard of it being on the check.

For my information : how can you look at the check you sent after it was cashed ? Do you work at the bank where USCIS cashes their checks ? I'm confused about that but maybe I didn't get it right.

My bank posts a copy online of checks that are cashed, front and back. I've read from several people on this forum to pay with check so you can get the case number from the back of the check. I know it's being impatient and honestly it's not a big deal.

Correction: I see stamped on the back of my check that it was cashed at a Chase bank in Lewisville, TX, so I guess they did forward my case to the lockbox. They sure managed to cash the check quickly though - 4 days!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThey Cashed My Check Already
Okay, so I checked my bank account today and I see that the USCIS cashed my check. So I have a couple of questions now:

First, I was expecting them to forward my petition to the lockbox, but they only received my petition last Friday and already they've cashed my check. Plus, on back of the check, it is stamped "Vermont Service Center" Does this mean my case was not/will not be forwarded to the lockbox? That should save me the 6 to 8 week delay that was mentioned in another thread if so!

Second question: Which of the numbers on the back of the check is my case number? I see no numbers that start with any letters.

Thanks

Hello guys, we are also pretty new in this, my fiance and I are preparing the package to send it to the USCIS, and I've got some questions that hopefully you could help me clear them up
Refering to the "Fiance(e) Letter of Intent" would it even better if i take it a step further and make more personal, or just use the common format, that most people think it works out fine?
About prooving that we have an on going relationship, should we just send pictures and airplane tickets.. or are we free to send any kind of evidence that we think its prooves we are in love?
2 or 3 weeks ago we sent the I-129 form without knowing that we needed to prepare a package of letters and forms.. of course they sent it back saying that the information was nott complete ):
Now we are gathering everything, can we send the package anytime again without any problem?
Thank you.
