Hi Ana,

Do you have everything to send to the embassy? I read you don't have to wait for a packet 3 in Brazil.

TIME SAVER TIP: If the beneficiary knows the NVC case number, they don't have to wait for the consulate to mail packet 3 to them to send back the forms and documents asked for. They can download the forms, fill them out, have the other documents needed and mail them to the consulate - provided that the beneficiary's gathered the documents asked for in the instructions, such as the federal and state police certificate -; the letter sent out to the consulate should make reference to the NVC case number (starting with RDJ).

Good morning. Another approval I see. It's the other Alina whom we don't know. Well congratulations to them. good.gif
March is 75% done now with just 22 on the waiting list.

Hi Mommy2B. So glad you posted. That's funny because on Tuesday I was looking over my list and realized I had never put you in the list. I had you in the spreadsheet I keep, but when things get updated or new people added, I have to go manually type them in the list I put here in the thread. I had forgotten to do that whenever you added your timeline.

Here's why your time gets pushed back. If there's say 100 people in a list, then over time 25 more discover the list (timeline) and add their names, it could affect your place on the list so to speak. If they all had dates earlier than you, it might push you back a little. I'm sure there is a great statistical explanation of this, but I think my concept will give you an idea of how that could happen, especially on Igor's list. Also as people post actual NOA2 dates, it gives new data to base the predictions on and maybe as the average time from NOA1 to NOA2 gets longer then the predictions add on time to yours based on how long it took others.

Come back and post sometime. Tell us about the baby...boy or girl? Names picked out? Your name is already on my list for next Monday and who knows, it could have a NOA2 date by it on Monday. Very possible. Best of luck to you.

Good morning all. I love to wake up and see Igor's stats page with four instead of two. The approvals kinda filled in a few gaps in the list. It's a big toss up for how the order will be for the end of the list since Ww have a lot of people clumped with similar dates. Look at Ana, who jumped out there.
I'm "vibing" for Jessica and Dutti now. idea9dv.gif VIBES~~~~~

March is really just short of 74% done. The timelines search brings up different numbers, but there's people with two timelines in there that I have taken out of my list. I'm pretty sure there's only 23 March VJers waiting at this moment. We even had a name changed I noticed.

I'm so glad the NOA2 waiting is over for me and I don't have to think about packing, moving, and saying good-byes. You non-US guys are the real star_smile.gif SUPERHEROES star_smile.gif. If I was your Mom, I would lock you up and not let you go. hahahaha Well maybe if I had met your fiance and knew he was a good guy, then I would soften up a little, but I would be sad too. I guess it's because my extended family has mostly been within an hours drive from me, so I don't know separation by long distances. So... if your Moms and friends are sad acting, it's because they love you so dearly.

Have a great day and good luck with your waiting, packing, interview preparation.....whatever the case may be. heart.gif

Hi Tech. Your time will come very soon. Probably in a week to 10 days. If you would modify your timeline to the day you sent the second petition, then your dates would be a little more accurate. You're skewing Capt Ewok's algorithm. blink.gif I think yours would probably say something like June 26-July 4. His statistical model is designed (I believe) predicting that 65% of the cases will be approved by the first date and 85% by the second date.
Since the Feb one was lost, it's like it didn't really happen (except in your heart and brain) but you know what I mean...to the USCIS it was a new petition at the very end of March. So sorry you had to wait that month wondering where your NOA1 was and then effectively start over.

Anyhow... last night Lee told me about a letter he got from DOS i think...and they were saying something about receiving and forwarding the case to the embassy... Do they usually send out those kind of letters??? I was pretty surprised.
He said he would read it to me today and i will figure out what it actually is...

Yes, we got one. It will have the new case number on it and it says the case will be processed at: (your embassy and it's address)
The date of the letter was actually after the case had left NVC according to what the person on the phone told me about when it arrived and when it left. Did you ask your embassy to look up your case by that new number rather than your name?

Aleena--Happy Anniversary today star_smile.gif

You can have Lee call the NVC and find out when the package left. They will also tell him the new case number. The phone line is open until late at night.

603-334-0700 press 1 for English, then 5 to talk to a person.
Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (EST). Best time to call is 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM to 12:00 PM.
The automated response thing is not for K1 cases because they aren't entered into that system. They just pass through there briefly.

Edit: I also forgot to say that I saw a report from the Dept of State saying in fiscal year 2007 that 51,935 K visas were approved. That averages 1000 a week getting all the way to final approval. Lots of cases just in that category.

Could be. Look again tomorrow. My last touch was the day it went to NVC. My email was two days after the actual approval date. Does yours say approved on 6-17-2008 or did it have an earlier date? Two days after my email was the date it left Vermont for NVC, but that was four days after approval. good.gif

It feels so good doesn't it? I couldn't tell from your post..hahahaha rofl.gif

So now you have to figure out when it gets to NVC (and find out your case number) and leaves NVC and gets to to Rio. There's a lot of new things that happen faster than the long wait for NOA2.

Ok, everybody else. Let's hope this is a good sign for a busy week of VJ friends getting approved.

Looks like he's hacking into the USCIS online tracking of your individual case numbers by entering a sequence of numbers. Well, not hacking in exactly, because anybody could do it, but that's kinda getting into peoples privacy areas. The timelines here are voluntary reporting, but I wonder if you should be doing that? That's created by the government for people to check their own cases as a convenience. Just my opinion. mad.gif

Nich- I love your updated list of names and NOA2s! It is really starting to look promising especially as our patience it starting to wear thin... Not all the approval dates have gone in order, but there is a general consistency with pretty much all the earlier dates approved by now. So, it is pretty promising, since it looks like the "big day" for us 31st-filers will be here VERY SOON!!! (Although to be honest I was a bit overly-optimistic in the beginning and never thought I would actually have to wait the whole three months!! But that's what you get for thinking your case will be special, I guess!)

Thanks. I know when I started, I was looking at mid-February people and some were getting approved and 18, 22, 25 days and I was thinking WOW, but as time wore on it got longer. I guess that was the magic time to have filed. When we came up, it was about 50 days, now for you it's looking like 80-90 days. What's your next timeline look like once it gets to the Embassy? Do you have to wait on a Packet 3, then wait again to get an interview scheduled? I know some get to call in and schedule their own interview. I haven't looked at all the different countries. Are you just spending the summer in Thailand, but you really live in the US?

Better get the thought waves going again. idea9dv.gif VIBES~~~~ for everybody

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNotice via Email
HI there---I found you. smile.gif Welcome to VJ

Once you get the NOA1 (Notice of Action) receipt back in snail mail, you'll have a number on it that you can track on the USCIS website. Some people who get checks back or can see them online are able to read the same number off the back of the check. Not sure how that works because I don't get cancelled checks. The USCIS website has "track your case online" and you get a log in/password. Then you can also sign up for email updates. The email you will get is one saying your petition has been approved --that's NOA2 (Notice of Action) They might also email you if they need more information from you. That's a Request for Evidence (RFE). It's just an email of anything they are going to mail you by regular mail. They don't give you much else in the way of what's happening on your case. But you're going to have to wait until they send you that first letter in the mail until you have a number.

This is a good group for you to start posting with http://www.visajourn...howtopic=137029 because they are K1s filing in California in July, so they are a good group to wait with and compare notes.

You can start a timeline. Up at the top of the page where it says "immigration timelines" in the blue bar....click that then under Timeline Functions, click Edit/Add my entry. You can use your real names or any kind of names you want like J & K, or Sugar & Spice...anything, when you fill out a timeline. Right now all you have is a date sent, but you'll update that timeline as you progress. It will also give you an estimated approval date. That date will change as new people put in data, but it gives you a good guess.

This is Igor's list that everybody talks about http://cse.ssl.berke...data/stats.aspx The link is the stats page showing how many VJ members were approved each week for a year. It updates all day long and gets the information from everybody's timeline. At the top you can look at California or Vermont specifics by clicking one of those links.

NVC will send you a paper letter with a new case number on it. Mine starts LND xxx for London. But you can call them maybe a week after NOA2 and ask if they have your case. Do not put in your EACxxxxx number in the automated thing. K1s are not entered in that...it's for other things. Speak to a person. Ask when arrived, when it left, and your new case number. It's fast...see my timeline.

If it's in MOS, then the Dept of State can verify that.

DOS: (202) 663-1225, press 1, then 0

Can tell you if case was received by embassy, when Packet 3 sent out, and when interview is scheduled. They can look you up by your WAC number from USCIS, then they can tell you the new number.
They are useful in several steps. I found out the interview was scheduled before Packet 4 letter was delivered.

Normally you would get a letter from NVC, but maybe it slipped through. I really hope it's in Moscow.

How do you know this? What do you mean by "getting it ready"? If you have some insight into the inner workings of the CSC in regard to what happens after the NOA2 is mailed to the petitioner, I'd be interested in learning about that.

I've been trying to watch how quickly other NOA2s from the CSC are being received by the NVC to see if there's any rhyme or reason to this step. I'm sensitive to this right now, because many petitions approved after mine have already made it to the NVC and mine has not. My NOA2 was July 9, and I've already received the hard copy (that's all I've received).

It means they send it down to the mail room. The people approving your petition don't do the mailing. The variable is how long it takes to leave the mail room. Kim was explaining that they used to save up a giant pile before sending from CSC but lately they go pretty quickly. From California to New Hampshire (NVC) is across country, so it takes longer just to get there by courier or mail or however they send them. Vermont to New Hampshire could be one day. Have you called the NVC? If you want to read a detailed explanation I just wrote, look up the thread for March filers at the CSC.

It is NOT taking that long to get NOA1. Of everyone with a timeline on VJ sending applications for K1 to VSC in the month of May 2008: 63 have sent petitions, 62 have NOA1 (All but you.) The average number of days from mailing to getting NOA1 (receipt) for May '08 VSC is 12 days. The NOA2 (approval) is taking about 90 days now. Call and explain you are not asking about approval, but just want your initial receipt number so you can track online.

You should keep calling and ask for a NOA1 number at least. Most March filers at VSC have NOA2 approvals now and some are already done with interviews and some are already in the USA.

She said, "you had an interview on the 29th and it says you were a 'no show'." Oh great! After I told her we were both there and everything was fine but the computers were down. She said she could look in a different place. Then she said you're done, your visa was issued and printed on the 31st. I was wondering in regards to the IRS tax transcript info for the affadavit of support. I'm sorry if this is redundant, but I don't see where the tax papers are needed if I am not "self-employed"...I got a signed letter on company letterhead in regards to my job, and I plan on sending about four recent pay stubs. Will that be enough for the affadavit? Also, does anyone know the process on getting a statement from the bank in regards to getting your deposit information for the past year? I am one of those online only bankers that never step foot in a bank lol!

Heather--
Many consulates seem to like to see the tax return or transcript as a good summary of income. If you didn't file last year or show low income because you were a student for example, then you would want to show current income in another way. I'm sure what you have with the letter and pay stubs is good proof. Australia seems to be a friendly, easy consulate for approving K1s. The evidence of having a statement from a bank officer is something that doesn't happen easily. That's why providing the free tax transcripts and skipping the bank letter was my choice. I've seen people post, "My bank told me they don't do that" or "My bank said it would take 2-3 months for that research to be compiled." I did throw in my most recent bank/investment statement, but London didn't look at that. In the end, you have to pick a few things that you think best proves the income or assets you say you have on the I-134 statement.

This thread has totally changed topics.

Forgot to say above:

Tax transcripts: Use this form to order 3 years free http://www.irs.gov/p...-pdf/f4506t.pdf
On item 6, you want to check the box by line a.

The second page gives instructions and also where to send the request depending on your state. I also gives fax numbers for those locations. I faxed my form and had transcripts in the mail within the week. Some people order over the phone. Because transcripts are official from the IRS and verify your W2 info, that covers it all. You can also do a photocopy of your whole return, but you have to include every page and any schedules, and anything sent in with it like W2s or 1099s-- The little paper(s) you have to staple to the front that your employer mails you telling how much you earned for the whole year.

And here's another good piece of info about Equador: http://guayaquil.usc...ems_english.pdf

QUOTE (Chamy and Gatita @ Aug 20 2008, 07:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
oh, so happy to hear from all of you out there. thanks for all the good points you made. Nich-Nick, i'm definitely going to take your advice- ive been researching a little about the next steps but haven't taken any, figuring i might get too far ahead or ####### something up. i didnt realize you have to order stuff from the IRS, though. Good thing i did my taxes !!!! so can my fiance really order the police document now? i didnt ask him to just in case it has a shelf life.

You need to read everything you can about Equador because each country has a slightly different procedure about how they collect your documents, when you pay, when you get the medical.

First look at the top of the page in the lighter blue menu bar. Two places you need to visit are Embassy Info and Review of Embassy. There should be some specific information about Equador's procedure, and maybe even a few tips. The Reviews: Embassy will tell what happened at the interview. You'll hopefully find out if it was easy or difficult, what happened if people weren't successful the first try. Maybe they forgot a document and that will warn you to bring it.

Also read information straight from the Embassy. http://guayaquil.usc...cees_visas.html and see what happens there. I just looked at it and they have a way to check online to see if your Packet from them has been mailed out. That's way cool. Most of us have to call the Dept of State or the Embassy. I can tell you that a British police certificate is good for 12 months, but you should try to find out if it's also true in Equador. The VJ guidelines after your case gets to the Embassy aren't more than general information, so don't rely on them as much as what you learn straight from Equador sources.

You're quoting K1 numbers and also posting in a K1 thread, but you are K3 is says.

Those figures are not the whole of CSC or VSC. They probably approve 1000 a week, but we only know about the few that happen to share their timeline on VJ. Maybe this week there aren't any VJ people getting approved but hundreds of others are. Also you will also notice that sometimes last week's numbers creep up because people didn't know they were approved. Those stats only change if a VJ member updates his timeline. Sometimes they find their approval email on a Sunday. So Igor will update it on a Sunday, even though maybe the real date was during the previous week. I'm just trying to explain that Igor's list is just an indication of things, but it's not a science to get upset over because it's not hard data from a service center.

It's all random as to what shows up on Igor. VJ and Igor people are just a tiny percentage of all the petitions at the service center. I'm sure they're working and approving at the same rate, but it's probably people who don't happen to report in to VJ. (Poor souls. They don't know what they're missing).

You guys should be reading up and planning for the Embassy things. Does everybody have their Affidavit of Support filled in? Have you ordered tax transcripts from the IRS? Does the beneficiary have the long form birth certificate that shows parent's names. Have they ordered their police certificates and gotten US sized passport photos? Do they have their immunization record so they can be getting any shots needed or females can start the HPV series. They need the immunization record to take to the medical exam so things they've already had can be marked off.

Just giving you some things to take your mind off waiting and checking USCIS 20,0000 time a day. So many people get the NOA2, then have extra delays because they find out their country wants some document that takes 60 days to receive. Not all, but it's kinda disappointing after waiting all that time for the NOA 2 to find out you've got to wait on something you could have already ordered.

Good luck on a short wait. Hope you bump up Igor's at a rapid pace. good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI can not believe this i think we got a referral
I think it might be a service request reference number, where they have to go find your physical file and see what's going on with it and get back to you. I saw that kind of number on another forum and they called it a service request.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsthe wait is just the hardest part of all!
Well, it's been more than 4 weeks since your approval, so if it's supposed to be 2-4 weeks. Try calling the Dept of State just for another place to ask somebody.
(202) 663-1225, press 1, then 0

Looking at CSC timelines-- For NOA2 approvals from July 1-July 14

44 are listed and 34 show some further activity, so they aren't saving up for a big shipment. Not all put dates of NVC receiving, but they have interviews or something to indicate their case has moved on. You never know if people keep up with their timelines, so some of those 10 showing nothing could also have their case moved forward. I would keep calling everybody in the US...USCIS, NVC, DOS and begging or whatever it takes until somebody will give you some good news or help.

So sorry you are having this trouble. sad.gif
