Here is the rundown on Igor's list going into the week of August 11...
(at least up to my spot at 65, sorry to be so selfish)

#2 repeat, subtract 1

#5 approved already, subtract 2

#22 very sad...pregnant, broke up, she is withdrawing petition crying.gif ,subtract 3

#23 a duplicate..approved in June so take off another

#28 didn't indicate service center in profile, is posting in CSC forum, I think it's a CSC case, subtract 4

#42 duplicate, subtract 5

#44 "Russ & Kim", pornography related delays

#48 Gaura & Nitai, already approved, subtract 6

#50 Suzy & Luis, VSC awaiting nude photos of Peruvian supermodel "Luis"

#56 Want to know what slows things down? Professional petitioners maybe? This person wonders if he'll have any trouble...applied for K1 in 2006, approved but he was unhappy with product on delivery and returned to sender. Applied for same person Jan 2007 had interview appt in June, canceled 2 weeks before interview because he had decided to "date" someone else blink.gif Apparently the product quality had not improved in the intervening 6 months! Now applying for her a third time! My my, what will happen this time?! Anyone else who has been through this situation please run over and tell him what to expect! headbonk.gif

Joe, I just loved your other post. You rock! I've had similar experiences having been an elementary school teacher. It is really a special gift to get that feedback many, many years later. We all touch lives when do the simplest things, and often never even know it.

Your neck gets tired fast when you hang "failure" around it. <-----Love that! good.gif

(do the NHS docs do any missed vaccinations for free BEFORE i go for the medical and spend my lifes savings on vacs?)

Nick needed MMR and the Tdap/Dtap (whatever it's called) NHS gave him both free. His nurse also compiled a list of immunizations since he had no record book or card to take. Originally his doctor said he didn't need the diptheria tetnus pertussis one, but medical people said yes, mainly for the pertussis (whooping cough). His NHS people were short but ordered one for him. They don't have to give you immigration shots free and some don't so it depends on your doctor. Some have also charged to put the shot record together.

Thanks for the info on DOS- good to know!

DOS Rocks!!! It's worthless calling London Embassy helpline at 120p/min because they don't know anything. DOS told me when the interview had been scheduled when the Embassy line had said minutes before none had been scheduled and P4 had not been sent. Also on Friday (after a Tuesday interview) I called DOS because of computers being down on interview day. Wanted to make sure we were put in system and not forgotten. She told me, "your visa was issued and printed yesterday." So it's good to know the DOS has that information too.

Gaura--
You don't have to have the medical before the interview. It's nice if it's already at the Embassy in your records so they can tell you on the spot that you're approved. Otherwise they will say you're approved pending receiving the medical info. You can schedule your medical as soon as you know the new case number LNDxxxxxx, which NVC or DOS can tell you over the phone. (Just tell the medical lady you have P3 already and give her your LND number.) Police certificates from ACPO don't normally take but a week. Have you ordered it?

I would have everything ready and addressed to mail in the day you get P3--that would be the DS forms and your checklist. You may not get P3 before you go...it could be close. Ours was two weeks after leaving NVC which could put you to next Friday or even the following week. You could just print the checklist I gave you and mail it right before you go. DOS will be able to tell you when you have been scheduled for an interview without actually having to be in UK to open your P4. You'll just have to call them when you think enough time has gone by to see if you've been scheduled (about 3 wks after sending in P3.)

Hello SterlinGirl,
From what they told me on the NVC they dont put the K1 Visa on the automatic phone service, talk to a person, and ask them directly about your case.
Why havent you done that already? being that you are anxious and wondering why there are no updates about your case?

Correct. That's for checking on something else like CR1 or AOS. K1s just pass through briefly so a person has to tell you about your file. Press 1 for English, then 5 to talk to a person. They are open late.

Congratulations on the approvals. I hope your spirits stay up Highway star_smile.gif
We knew it would come for you, but the last bit of waiting so so very hard. Isn't it Kim? We're all still pulling for you.
idea9dv.gif Vibes~~~ for Kim to the VSC

I'm home from the UK and totally off on my time. Went to see friends at the coffee shop this morning and couldn't even talk for yawning constantly. I brought a suitcase full of Nick's things home and didn't have to explain the men's clothing and books and watches, etc. at customs. I also quizzed the CPB guy about the procedure in Houston for K1 entries. Like which line will he go to, where is the room they take him, etc. He said afternoons often get crowded in there and could take an hour. I thought, at this point an hour is nothing. The room had a big glass window so I went over and pressed my nose against the glass to scope it out. There were about 8 people sitting in rows of chairs lined up looking tired and bored.

We have an interview date of Sept 22.
Was to long of wait , so I am jumping on a plane Aug 13 to see my ???????.

Well at least you have a date, even though it's probably a disappointment to have to wait another 7 weeks. Wait, wait, wait!!!! We do a lot of that. I'm waiting on the SMS courier who was supposed to come yesterday with the passport and visa. Then they promised between 1:00 and 3:00 today. Then at 3:05 they called the driver and he said within the hour. I am so close to seeing my fiance's visa, yet so far. [sigh] I think SMS stands for Slow Mail Services or Secure Mail Sucks! ranting33va.gif

Congrats on everyone getting approvals, its all very exciting and I know the wait is tough... Quick question - I just spoke to NVC and they said they sent my petition to Chile on August 1st, I am trying to track it via DHL - EXP 1 AUG 2008A as a reference but nothing is coming up, I changed the dates but still nothing is coming up. "No shipments found. Please revise criteria and resubmit"

I'm sure that there were other shipments and I am probably just doing something wrong. ??

Thanks,
Kristen

I had a look and there is one to Santiago (do Track by number to look at it-- 9423680884) You can call the Dept of State and they can tell you if yours is at the Embassy.
This one I tracked by EXP 30 JUL 2008A and used the shipment pickup dates Jul 31 to July 31. You have to back it up a day from when they tell you. Normally for an Aug 1 departure, I would track EXP 31 JUL 2008A (always the day before) and I would do shipment pickup dates of Aug1 to Aug1, but since that didn't come up with Chile, I backed it up one more day. I bet that's yours and it's already in Chile. good.gif

I liked the dancing Ana. And Fortaleza is beautiful. It's a big city. There's only one building in my town over 2 stories tall. It's about 3 or 4 floors.

Ok, now to get the week started with some fun, this is the song that came to mind when I was describing Kim. Maybe it didn't make it to Boston, but I want to hear her sing it. We'll sing the chorus with you Kim.

Hi and Good Morning,

Well Pandora's interview date tells me we did the right thing in delaying ours. She is my timeline twin. Our dates, consulate, service center, etc are pretty identical. We were forecasting that the interview could very well time out to be while Nick's in the US. I can assume from Pandora's date that his would have been around the 8th also. He's here July 4-13 so that wouldn't have worked. Congratulations Pandora and good luck organizing.

Today I'm going to meet my daughters for lunch at a town halfway between us. I feel sad for them that they don't have a father any more. So everybody give your Dad an extra good hug today, especially those who will be moving far away. heart.gif

I wonder where Bex was this afternoon? I guess she was sick and went to bed missing all the descriptions of herself. And speaking of missing in action, what has happened to Tuty?

Looking forward to a good next week. Adios, adio, adeus, arrivederci, au revoir, cheers, and bye y'all.

She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. She can pull strings to get whatever she wants because she knows dirt on so many people that when she calls for a favor, they oblige.

Yes, he did and he scanned it and sent me a copy before I even woke up. I do love to update timelines.

Now here's a description for you to check out. BEX looks and talks like Cat Deeley.
Not really, I think she's very short and curvacious. She has dark vixen brown hair, shoulder lenth, that she straightens with spikey shorter hair in front. She has a tattoo on her lower back that shows in her bikini. She's smarter than the average kid her age because she can spell and doesn't use TXT message words constantly. She's a heavy drinker prone to impatience and self pity. LOL (Hope somebody gave you some needed attention today, lovely, and I hope you are feeling better.)

Alina: tiny, fragile and beautiful. Soft spoken except when she says "I Vant to drink your blood" like Dracula, her neighbor.

The April person probably had some special reason why it had to be expedited. They have done so before for very serious circumstances and such. Or maybe they really filed a year ago and it got lost and found and lost, so the VSC gave them a break and sped it up. You never know, but it was probably for a good reason. They haven't forgotten you guys . This time is probably the hardest, when you are getting real close and the waiting and checking USCIS for updates has lost it's excitement and gotten too disappointing. I got the the point where I totally quit checking it for about 3 weeks. It was making me too gloomy. sad.gif

Powerless (the two minute word)--good job Ana. Just think how all the waiting and chatting in English is giving you lots of practice. We'll have to throw some big words at you to challenge you. I truly admire those of you that speak mulitple languages. You know what's funny? As I read your posts, I imagine your voices in my Texas accent. It would be a riot to hear everybody speak. I'm used to Nick's British accent, but when he would message about his kids, I was imagining them differently. The first time I heard them talk, it was "OMG your kids are British!" Duh! rofl.gif

heart.gif I miss Erin heart.gif and I hope she's working her way back to happy smiles.

Good morning kids biggrin.gif

It's Friday the 13th and somebody lives in Transylvania....ooohhhh perfect for an approval day in this group. Spooky.

If Kim would pm me and tell me how to quote from multiple people within the same message like she does, it would help.

Aleena - I'm positive one of those 2 packages is yours. You're right about so many packages to so many countries. And each box could have many petitions. I posted earlier somewhere how to track dhl and about seeing in two days 82 different countries. Some of the boxes were 20 or 40 pounds, so you know they had lots of petitions inside. That's great that you get to call and schedule you're interview and not wait to hear back from them weeks later. You could be married before we go to the interview.

Bex - It was just a day over 2 weeks after London getting our P3 back that they scheduled Nick's interview. We tracked the P3 back to them and with the bank holiday, it took a few days to get back. I've seen some from London get P4 letter in a much shorter time, so it's hard to know. Sorry it's going to be a long stretch between seeing Alan. I bet you have your visa way before Nick has his. We asked for a delayed interview date.

About the free trip on miles. I always fly Continental to get the miles in one pot so to speak. They don't expire, so it's several years of trips. I made enough miles last year to be Elite status, so this year instead of 5000 miles each trip across the Atlantic, I get 7500 because they bonus you for being Elite. And last year I got a Continental Mastercard and they gave me 25,000 miles for signing up and a mile for every dollar charged on it. So I pay my electric, cable, phone, groceries...everything I can just to get the miles. There's bonuses too like 2 miles for every dollar for charging airfare tickets on it. And 5 miles per dollar spent at Best Buy (new TV on it.) So I don't really travel that much, I just collect miles everywhere I possibly can. It's useful to pay for trips when they're cheap and try to use miles in the summer when the fares go up so much. Continental works for us because they fly direct from Houston to London. Houston is a hub so I can go most anywhere and use Continental. I flew BA once, but their frequent flyer scheme sucks.

I'm slow on this because I keep going off and doing things. So better go now and be a busy person. Good luck. I sure hope some more approvals start trickling in through the weekend. Often that happens. I got my NOA email on a Sunday morning. smile.gif

Wow Nich!
just saw you have an interview date!!!!
is it fresh news or i was just being ignorant and missed it untill now?
anyhow...i bet it feels good to know when your wait will finally come to an end smile.gif
happy for you!
can't wait to have mine too!

YES, it is fresh news for Mommy Nic. How could you tell? Could it be the red writing that gave it away?? rofl.gif
It feels very good. I just love getting to update my timeline and signature. Thank you for noticing.

Today I got tired of wondering, so instead of waiting patiently, I called the Dept. of State and inquired if there was an interview scheduled. (Yes, I am still obsessed. blush.gif) He asked for the case number LND2008xxxxxx and the beneficiary's name. Then he said, "Do you have a pen and paper handy?" Wowweee, I knew I was going to hear some news. He told me that my timing was good because they just set the appointment yesterday and my fiance would probably get his letter early next week. He was a very nice guy. I kissed him and he laughed and I hung up. So if you're obsessed and want to call the DOS write this number down. (202) 663-1225 Press 0, then Press 1. The robot that answers the call talks forever, so just press 0 to bypass him. Same for the second robot that comes on...skip him with a 0 and the next answer is a live person. There's no music while you wait for Mr. 0 to come on the line...just dead silence. It took about 2-3 minutes for him to answer. The DOS can tell you if your Packet 3 was sent out, if the embassy got it back from you, and if an interview has been scheduled.

As soon as I got the news, I called Nick and blurted, "You have an interview! I know because I called the Dept of State." His reaction was as if he got a bingo, but I yelled out BINGO! for him. Well that's the impression I got, even if he didn't say it. Hope I didn't steal his thunder of getting the mail and being able to tell me. Sorry Nick if I did. unsure.gif

Then the next cool thing is---I booked a flight to England. We had already decided I would come back at interview time and we would go to London together just to be able to share the joy. That's kinda why I wanted to know the date asap, because I wanted to book a reward flight while there were some available. So going over cost me 25,000 miles and coming back, I had to book first class for 50,000 miles. I've even read two recent London interview reports that the USC was allowed to come in the embassy with the interviewee. Even better. He said he's glad I get to come again since we won't be going back for awhile until AOS, etc is done. I told him I'm going to miss having a boyfriend in England to go visit. hahahaha

So today was a happy day and I got on Bex's Happy List. kicking.gif Thanks Bex.

I think Bex wants to post the list of interview dates just so we can see when our March friends go for their "big day." The times will depend on sending back the Packet 3 and how each consulate decides to schedule things.

Good news Ana. And more to come for you, I hope, this week. Such a slow start to the week, but sometimes it goes like that. Makes it so boring to not see new approvals.

Hello to everybody. Bex I like the list of interviews you started. Forgot to mention that earlier. Looking forward to adding my name to it. I like to have concrete dates. It makes it all seem more real, like you got to move forward on the Monopoly board.

Looks like Nick can get his DTaP at National Health now. They had told him that there was a country wide shortage and it was priortized for the babies. So he was going to go back to Knightsbridge in London and get it over with. NHS called and said they got some in and one had his name on it. It's been up and down with the immunization thing, but I did figure out the confusion. Requirements are set by USA for Tdap, which doesn't really correlate to a UK vaccine, so they give the DTaP or what they call the Tdap which is a totally different mix of drugs than the US version. And this is in addition to the DTaP you took as a baby/child.

Have a great day. kicking.gif Vibes~~~~~

Wow. Good for you...moving right along.

How did you get an approval from California in only 40 days with RFEs even? Are you pulling our leg with your timeline?

Nich-Nick... I must have missed a couple posts, but what is this map you speak of?

It's not a Visa Journey thing. It's just a personal webpage that hasn't been posted publicly.

Glad you dropped in. The waiting is tough, especially for those who filed in California since many of us who filed in March at Vermont are getting approvals already. But I guess it gives you hope of things to look forward to and how to get ready for the next step. Good luck on having the patience to wait it out. None of us have been that great with patience, but at least you can share the pain with people who understand what you're going through.

I read in the April thread that some people felt harassed by friends and co-workers, who doubted them and made their wait even more difficult. They would keep asking "are you sure he's going to marry you? Why hasn't he already done so?" They didn't understand how long the process takes. I hope all of you who are benefiaries haven't had too much trouble with other people making you feel bad. cray5ol.gif

Hi everybody. Guess you've all gone to bed but jmmr Maria by this time. Oh and Ana. Speaking of where we all are, I have added a couple more names to the map--Pandora and Dutti. It's getting crowded in some spots so you'll have to drag and zoom it in. Pandora's dude is covering up Alan. You guys can visit each other. And don't forget to drag over to Thailand. Kinda fun. Looks like Alina is in the mountains when looking at the satellite view.

I've been busy planting more flowers. I went to buy a few to fill in the ones that died because they can't take the heat and sun any more. I ended up buying some sun lovers, and new ones for the back, and fertilizer, etc. I worked to get all that out because I just knew it was about to rain. There were dark black clouds, and rumbly thunder, and lighting to the north, and I did a rain dance......and it didn't rain. So now I'm having to use the sprinkler to water all that stuff in. I think it's been 32 days since the last rain. It's a bit unusual.

Timelines: Capt. Ewok said he did a new algorithm and 65% of the people should be approved by their first listed date and 85% by the second date. And said there all always exceptions and it was weighted towards being a little longer than it likely will be.

Hope your move goes well Alina. Won't be long until all of you will be making the BIG move. Ana, you must be talking about your Quinceañera. Those are popular here too in Mexican-American families. Those are huge affairs.

Bex, honey bunny, sorry the wedding dress adventure left you blue. Those dresses almost always have to be altered. Maybe you need to ditch the hoop being you're so tiny. My daugher had something that looked like this http://www.knotthegr.../MMS-2412-3.jpg with this kind of waist. http://www.knotthegr...inchwaist-2.jpg Very smooth and flattering. You don't want the dress to look like it's wearing you. (Oh there I go being Mother Goose again, but I do have experience shopping at 12 different bridal shops in Houston times two weddings. I know my stuff. hahahaha)

I made this bouquet for her wedding portrait for less than $10 from Walmart roses and some stuff I cut out of hedges at a Walgreen's drug store parking lot.

Yep, I do weddings.

Well that's it for now. idea9dv.gif VIBES~~~~~~~~~~ to the USCIS for those waiting.

Nich looking at my timeline now they said june 18 to june 26 =(

I know I saw that change right before my eyes from June 13-20. I think Highway Star was the same as yours because I wrote her name right under yours on an envelope on my desk. I was excited seeing those dates. Then looked again and they were changed. Capt Ewok has now posted that he changed the way he calculates those. He posted in three different threads. Look for the explanation. But aren't you excited I happened to notice that? Maybe a good luck sign for you to get the earlier ones. smile.gif We can all hope and wish.

This is weird guys. I clicked on your timelines and I noticed that there is a date range instead of one date. Something new? Well Dutti's said June 11-18 and I thought that's freakin' Wednesday. She's going to faint just to see those dates. And Ana, yours said June 13-20 and I thought WOW, I said Friday the 13th. I wrote them down because I was going to comment. Then I went back to somebody's and it had all changed. In one minute it moved forward a week. So crazy. I guess the timeline guru has programmed a date range now. Kinda fun.

Thanks for dropping in Dutti. And where are Darren and Chrissy? They are those Cambridge people who are beating the socks off us in the Oxford/Cambridge race for the visa. (That's an England inside joke. A big annual boat race rivalry.) We wil concede now, because they have an interview and we asked for one after mid July.

Mummy Nicole I love your march filers map! Alan is in Lilburn, GA. I can't wait till we are all over there I am already planning our March filers spa weekend - although its not so much a weekend as it is a 7 day Caribbean cruise when we all (that need it) have AP of course.

I love it too. It will be neat to move your marker across the pond and just have one in GA saying "Alan & Bex."
Girl, you are crazy working 6 days a week at this point. And going to class? More than crazy. Just focus on your friends and wedding and packing up your life. Alan will take a poor girl. And take classes in the US that will for sure transfer and apply to something there. We don't want any mental breakdowns here....from ANY of you.

Today is uneventful. I'm being a cleaning/laundry woman. wacko.gif

Nicholas is REALLY cute.

Glad you're moving along so well in the visa journey. Somehow wasted time at NHS is at least doing something. It's not like when you just wait for touches or approvals and know nothing for months. Did you look at the map I sent you? Don't know Alan's specific location so it's rather random.

Well good. I like it that you're smiling one in awhile.

I just noticed a little British friend of ours got her Packet 3 today and didn't even tell us. She must be real busy getting the papers together since her timeline says it's getting sent back tomorrow 6/7. So have you booked the medical yet, Bex? My advice on that is get all the shots they can give you at Knightsbridge. NHS doctor wouldn't give Nick the Tdap, which is actually something quite different in the UK from what I've been reading. He wants to go back to London and get the shot. They told him he could just drop in for it. He might go in two weeks when my daughter will be in London. It's not that far.

Hi everybody, even though half of you have gone to bed. I'm just now getting to catch up with the reading. There was so much dancing in this thread today that I can't even remember what I wanted to reply to.

Aleena- My touches were like this: Friday- touch for the NOA2, but no changes showed in status online so I didn't know. Sunday-touch and the day they emailed me, so I call that my email touch. Tuesday-touch again and later I confirmed that is the day it left USCIS for VSC. So if you got touched today, maybe it was the email. Check again tomorrow and the next few days to see if there's more. Touches are pretty unpredictable. Oh, I remembered one more thing for Aleena. I was thinking about the countries today and an old memory bubbled up. I worked with a woman named Gyungi and I've forgotten what country she was from...maybe Romania. She said there was a calendar with names for every day and depending on your birth date, you got that calendar name. You had a regular name too. Does that ring a bell as Romanian?

The western hemisphere starts waking up......

And I find you've been having a kicking.gif kicking.gif PARTY kicking.gif kicking.gif on here without me.

wow.gif I am so happy for you Alina. SO HAPPY !! It does feel great.
I always start with Igor's list stats page and saw there were 3. I just was hoping so hard it was you as I clicked the VSC list.

I was working on my list last night and found some listed twice when you do a timeline search (Anais & Jack; S&W) New couple (Larisa & Stacy) I had to add but approved. Gina and Jeff must have updated because they are approved now. So March is about 62% through the gates.
I will have to post an updated list in honor of Aleena and use color because she wanted to be green.

Happy day and good luck guys.

I loved the London architecture...One thing i missed in the US was that old and noble touch that European capitals have.

I agree. It's all so charming to me.

Speaking about musicals in London Nich...we saw Chicago! Fantastic! totally enjoyed it!
And one other thing i enjoyed....lol...Some of you will think i am a little pathetic but we went to see SEX and the CITY one night...and i swear i cried at least 3 times....

We saw Chicago on Broadway in New York. I liked it alot too.
My daughter went to the Sex and the City movie on the weekend and said she cried three times. LOL Just like you.

Glad you had a good trip and welcome back. We missed you. Hope you get the good news soon.

Hi Bex

http://www.visamedicals.info/us.asp This gives about the same info as Packet 3.
Under what to bring it says "Medical reports of any past or current illnesses including psychiatric." Your doc will probably know what's important to tell them.

On the last page of your packet, you have a medical form to fill out. You have to check yes or no to various things.
15. Have you ever had diabetes mellitus or other endocrine disorder?
20. Do you take any medication? (Please list all medications on a separate sheet)
At the bottom it says if you have answered YES to any of the above, please use a separate sheet to give further details.

Hi Jessica

She wrote DTaP on the paper to take to his doctor. But reading this from the link you sent it sounds like the difference is DTaP is for babies and the adult and booster version is Tdap. Maybe he didn't have the series as a baby.
QUOTE
Acellular pertussis-containing vaccines are available for use in persons at least 10 years of age. The adolescent and adult formulation of tetanus and diphtheria toxoid and acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine is given as a single (booster) dose for persons 10 through 64 years of age who have completed the recommended childhood diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and the pertussis/diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and acellular pertussis (DTP/DTaP) vaccine series.

That's a very good point you bring up and sounds correct to me. Makes you wonder if the nurse really knows what she's doling out. She also told him it contained immunization for polio as well. I know that's not right. Well the jab he goes to get is a story to be continued I guess. He'll have to question his own doctor or nurse and see what they say. The nurse at the medical appt did say if he changed his mind about getting the shot, he could just call and tell them to send his medical results on to the embassy. Thanks for the insight.
