Hola Miss Kim---

I'm getting on a plane tonight to head to the UK. When I get back on a computer across the pond, I'd like to see your NOA2 has been approved.
Could you get that done for me????? tongue.gif

Bye and good luck to all of you. Lot's of excitment and nerves in here. This thread is a happenin' place.

Wow April, you're doing well. Congratulations on those approved. Kim, I feel your pain and disappointment. Checking USCIS starting making me too disappointed, so I had to make myself quit.

For the DHL tracking, here's from a post of what I did to track mine. It's kind of a slight variation. I used that original one that Kim posted but it was kinda wordy and confusing and the date didn't work for me, so I experimented and came up with this for myself.

QUOTE
My package left NVC on 08 May 2008. This is what I did on the site http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

In the "reference" box, I put EXP 07 MAY 2008A (notice that's the day before they said it left)
They may generate their reference and do the packing the day before pick-up because EXP 08 MAY...didn't work.

Below in the "shipment pick up date range" I put May 8 2008 to May 8 2008 (I wanted to see things leaving NVC on only May 8) If you put in a range of dates, you'll see packages show up that are halfway there that actually left a couple of days before yours.

Then click the red arrow that says "track"

There were three pages of shipments, so be sure and click "next" which indicates if there are more pages.

I noticed that there were 67 shipments leaving NVC on May 8, but each was to a different country (no duplicates) which tells me that they combine petitions going to the same Embassy. Looking at details on some shipments, the London package was 3 pounds and Manila was 40 pounds, so there must have been many petitions from Manila going together.

I did the same steps above for the previous day (May 7) and there were 16 countries, but they were all different from the May 8 countries. Thats 83 different countries in 2 days, with multiple petitions in many boxes! It kinda gives you an idea that many more petitions are being processed than just the timelines we stare at here on VJ.

Good luck everybody. I'm happy for you.

Kim, as an experienced VJ member, I have one question for you....
Do you think VSC has slowed down lately compared to how they used to process cases before??
I am wondering if we are just caught in a bad timing at VSC...
I have heard that VSC has to process HI visa first, or naturalization for the coming presidential election etc.
I am sure no one really knows what is going on but I just joined VJ last month
so I really don't know the trend at VSC.

S&D, you can look at the graphs here http://www.visajourn...ge=k1historical
They are found by clicking above on Immigration Timelines, then under the heading "Statistics", find the K1 "Historical Trends" You can visually see the ups and downs of the service centers for the past year. Here's Vermont:

My approval of a March filing came in early May as the trend was climbing out of the valley (around 50 days). You can see how as of today the average is 96 days. I think the graphs show what Kim was saying about it goes up and down. The link I posted shows lots of graphs and there's also a link to several Embassy graphs. Look is Step 6 in tiny print, it says ...popular consulates click "here" This is that link http://www.visajourn...e-k1-historical

Hi Kim. Hi April.

I see there's another April from last week just now showing up on Igor, so that counts. Yee Leng & Joseph

I have a new theory somebody can analyze. Gender of who prepared the packet. Hmmm? It looks like alot of the ones skipped over were prepared by males. That would be the second name listed in Igor. What do you think? Like Bex and Alan and Highway star_smile.gif , the guys both sent in the wrong amount and got the petition delayed. If they miss something that big, then maybe they sorta put their petitions together slap-dash in other ways and it takes a little longer to check. Whatcha think? Oh, I'm being so bad here. devil.gif Sorry guys. And it looks like there's alot more men as petitioners anyway. BUT maybe there's some conclusions to draw.......

Well, just trying to give you some BS to occupy your thoughts before you go mad and wear out your keyboard checking USCIS. laughing.gif
Another mystery to ponder is why has nobody who sent a July petition to either service center received a NOA1 yet? Nobody as of this morning. That is weird and I feel really sorry for them because they're in the blackest of black holes wondering what's going on.

Well here's to your sanity. I know exactly how you feel, but you're making progress.

idea9dv.gif Good Vibes~~~~~ to VSC for all of you waiting.

Wow, I went out and came home to find all kinds of excitement happening. Congratulations guys. good.gif
I love the weeks that start out with a bang on Monday. Have you noticed that sometimes there's a whole bunch on Monday, then the week sorta fizzles and gets boring. Other weeks, nothing happens and Friday and the weekend several roll through.

I think the movement of dates has to do with new people signing up for timelines and they have dates ahead of you so it sorta pushes yours back. Not in a real sense because they did file before you, but it seems like they're cutting in line or something. mad.gif

Looking at Igor's list for CSC, there's even four March approvals today. That's amazing that California has already cracked into March.

Those touches sound good. I'm thinking NOA2 right around the corner. Did any of you notice another April just got around to updating their timeline? They were 4/7 and 4/11 approved on Saturday. It's getting exciting in this thread. Good luck to ya.

Here's some numbers from VJ timelines for March VSC

Average Days NOA1 to NOA2
43 days for Apr 15-30 approvals
54 days for May 1-6 approvals
60 days for May 7-14 approvals
66 days for May 15-30 approvals
78 days for Jun 1-9 approvals
82 days for Jun 11-19 approvals
86 days for June 20-25 approvals

But you can see how the trends go by looking at the VJ graph

I'm sure the surge of petitions varies. Look on VJ and see how big Feb (NOA1s=100) was compared to last Dec (NOA1s=65) petitions. All those Febs are slowing you guys down. It's not the March people. rofl.gif Looks like the line is leveling off. Maybe it will go down since April, so far, is showing lower number of filers. That will help out May.
Anyway, we are over 82% done give or take a couple of weird dated new timelines. It's going to happen for you soon

Anything that gives you warm fuzzies and reminds you of all the reasons you're on this journey in the first place... share it with us and hopefully we can replace some of this negative energy with positive....
Next?????

Kim, you're so totally cool! I have a simple warm fuzzy. We hang out together on the phone alot since we have free calling. Yesterday he was going to make some tea and said in his best British butler impersonation, "Can I get Madam a cappuccino or coffee?" The warm fuzzy is knowing he really will do such sweet, thoughtful things for me. I've spent my life happily doing things for people and not wanting anything in return. I've found somebody who wants to tend to me and it just makes me smile inside because I feel so loved.

FYI about Igor's list. The last two March approvals were #23 and #34 on Igors prior to their approvals yesterday so there's alot of stuff at the front of the list like Kim pointed out. I do think it's cleaned out some from when I was #100. Seems like I saw a Capt Ewok post where he said he did some manual removals and when really old ones go way past their date, they move to that other list on Igor's.

Hey April. It really is 75%. Four people have two timelines so 92-4 is 88 filers.
Two people have approvals but didn't log it, but one duplicate person logged approval twice. 66 approved and 22 waiting.
Kim is over in March directing traffic to clear out the waiting room for you. Being summer, I hope they don't take vacation. Awww that's mean to say. They're just working people too, but you know how we all feel.

Good morning, April filers! It seems that our petition has been touched again after nearly 2 months... I had decided not to check the USCIS website for at least a week because not seeing any changes brought me down - but earlier this morning Michael did, and he saw the update! Perhaps it's a good sign, who knows... Even though in Italy 17 is the unlucky number by definition!

Ohhh. I really think that could be an approval. My touch after a long bit was the approval, but it took 2 more days for them to send the email and show it online. I hope it's a good sign.

Stats: Just ran across a document on the Dept. of State website yesterday. It said in fiscal year 2007 that 51,935 K visas were approved. Well that's like 1000 a week and makes you realize there's waaay more going on than we see on Igor's list. And then consider the other visas they process added to the numbers. Another report was about the number of denials and all the reasons. The total number of applicants on that list was a quarter of a million. That was for all types of visas. Big numbers!

I'm going by the immigration timelines link at the top of the page. Then narrowing it down to Vermont Service Center then sorting by NOA1 date and manually going through everyone's page and timeline as not everyone has been putting in NOA2 date but has gone on to put consulate/packet 3 received dates.

Hmmm...and that's what I do. Is your NOA 1 search range 2008-02-29 to 20008-04-01?

Thanks for keeping everybody posted. Looking for fireworks here when the first April gets the nod.

This 'touch' thing seems to be more recent... Even though they supposedly process based on date received, it seems we are all getting touched close to a month after our NOA1 dates...and two days in succession. It kind of throws a wrench in the idea that the petitions sit in a box until the adjuticator is ready to work it. Perhaps there is a new procedure that runs you through database checks along the way. Either way, the touches make me happy!

Sounds like a good explanation to me. Your touches after a month are probably equal my touches after two weeks because the average time has strung out longer lately. So with that concluded, you must be one month away from NOA2 after your cluster of touches....hahahaha...we are trying to be Sherlock Holmes. Good luck guys. It's coming and feels much better on the other side of NOA2 since you're not in that black hole of USCIS.

Hi ya'll. March VSC filer here.

Just popping in to see what's new with you. Noticed the talk about touches. I was a faithful touch recorder. I took mine out of my signature because there were so many, but they are in the comments of my timeline. I had several touches about 2 weeks after the NOA1 time...three actually. Then it was a month later that the NOA2 touch came. So your recent touches could be like mine. Who knows what kind of shifting and sorting goes on. Maybe it's some kind of intermediate step they go through. Just speculating like we all do. My touch for NOA2 was on a Friday, but there was no update. It wasn't until Sunday that they sent me the email and updated the status. Got another touch when they sent it out to NVC. So that's a hint to know if it gets sent out by USCIS. Keep checking for touches after the NOA2. Probably doesn't happen like that for everybody, but it did for me.

Hi kids! Looks like the "other" March group is moving along and busy with plans. Just checking in on you guys. I did a fun thing tonight. I met my daughters in Houston at the So You Think You Can Dance tour. Don't know if you watched that show, but we did so it was fun to see all the dancers in person. Had to leave my new husband of 6 days home. We bought the tickets ages ago and I had no idea I'd be married by now. He was fine with it and entertained himself going shopping for things and browsing around places.

Stevi, the interview will be fine. They just chat a little with no hard questions about your family. How did you meet? What does your fiance do? When is the wedding? Easy stuff. I went, but didn't do anything but sit in the waiting room working Sudoku puzzles. I didn't get to participate in any way. I'm wondering what you put on your I-134 question 11 I think it is. It's the part about I will or I will not provide specific support and a place to list specific ways you will support him. Have you read recently about people having problems in London by doing it the way the VJ example says? They want you to check 'I will' instead of checking neither.

I was reading above about the bank information. We didn't do anything from the bank and didn't have a problem in London. Just 2007 tax return and letter from employer stating salary...that was it.

Well, good luck on the interviews coming up. It's an exciting time to be so close to the finish line.

Ok Maria girl. I've got this figured out. The dude you talked to thought you were the Mexican. So he said you will get a letter and you will need your passport and birth certificate. That's all Jorge's stuff. He will get the letter and has to bring originals of his passport and BC.

You can relax and think about the babies now. Don't send that stuff.

Maria---

Why are you sending your birth certificate and passport to Mexico? Have you actually confirmed that with the Embassy or somebody who recently got a K1 visa in Juarez? At London, they did not want to see any of the USCs documents, but the Affidavit of Support things. Where did you get that information about your documents? Maybe you've gone over this before, but I haven't read the whole thread here. I for sure wouldn't send my passport anywhere. That doesn't sound right.

I thought Jorge could just walk in for an interview. What is he waiting for? The Juarez info says get the documents online and don't wait on the ones they mail out.

Just checking on you, love. smile.gif

NICHNICK!!!!! I am so glad you stopped in here! Are you back home from your interview? Is your pumpkin in the states? Give us an update! wink.gif
WHere are you at in this process?

Well I have to check in on the other March filers. You used to hang out with us before you started this thread so I have to keep up with you and Stevi, my old friends.

I got home from two weeks in the UK on Thursday night. Nick has the visa in his passport. good.gif We have graduated!! He turned in his job resignation Friday, but has to work 4 weeks after giving notice. So that takes him until Sept 5 working. He plans to come in early October. He needs the 3 weeks off to get rid of things or packed. He's got alot of things that won't work on our voltage (or TV format)...plasma TV, dvd recorder, stereo, cappuccino machine, power tools...basically anything that plugs in except cameras and laptops (which are already here at my house.) He's been bringing things when he comes and I brought a big suitcase of his things back with me. If they had searched my luggage, I wonder what they would have thought about me having a man's suit, ties, watches...LOL. I'd say 3/4 of his clothes are already here as well as the cameras and laptops. But he still has a LOT to sort out and decide if it's important enough to bring. I still don't know when/where we'll get married, but maybe October or first week of November. My daughter suggested Halloween and we'll all wear costumes. LOL that you called him a pumpkin above. Perhaps a costume idea??

I'm really happy that you CSC people are moving on past the NOA2 wait. It gets busy and exciting. Congratulations to all of you.

I haven´t left... I just haven´t been feeling very well the last few days. This is my 7th time in Oaxaca (Mexico) and each time I get sick. In January, I actually spent a night in the hospital. I have no idea what I ate, but alas, again I am sick.

We have a name for that illness in Texas. It's called "Montezuma's Revenge." When we go to Mexico, we don't drink water...only bottled or canned soft drinks and no ice either (because it's made from the water.) Brush your teeth with coke. LOL. Really. You could boil water 5 min. or use some kind of purifier. We also don't eat any raw fruits or vegetables. Mainly we only eat well cooked meals in the fairly nice hotels. It's just something we gringos are suseptible to that doesn't bother the locals. I don't get sick if I do that. Once in Guadalajara I was fine, until I just couldn't resist a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich at a little roadside joint. I could barely make it back through immigration at the airport. Had to lie on the floor right there in the line of returning tourists until my turn came.

Hello Maria, Stevi, and all--
I've been away to London to the interview, but now catching up with your discussions of the past two days. Let's talk about DHL tracking.

If you don't know the day it left NVC, then you're just guessing. When it leaves, the NVC will tell you, "It left here on _____". Most don't take but a few days. So here's my previous instructions of how I tracked it but you substitute in your dates.

QUOTE
My package left NVC on 08 May 2008. This is what I did on the site http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

In the "reference" box, I put EXP 07 MAY 2008A (notice that's the day before they said it left)
They must generate their reference and do the packing the day before pick-up because EXP 08 MAY...didn't work.

Below in the "shipment pick up date range" I put May 8 2008 to May 8 2008 (I wanted to see things leaving NVC on only May 8) If you put in a range of dates, you see some in transit, some being delivered, and you want to zero in on only the ones departing on the date NVC said yours left and no others.

You see how many pounds a shipment is by clicking on the red number of that shipment. Once you figure out which one you think is your number, then you can track it by number and see it's progress every step of the way. That would be under "track by number" instead of "track by reference."

Don't forget you can call the Dept of State who can tell your if you package is at the embassy, give you the new case number, tell you when packet 3 was mailed out, and tell you if an interview is scheduled. That's a way's down the road if you're still at NVC, but good information to know. The guy I talked to was very nice.
Dept of State: Dial 202-663-1225 Then press 1 and then 0 for an operator. Have your case number ready. They can look you up by USCIS number or new NVC case number.
There's lots of information you can find yourself if you look at the Wiki (blue tab at top of page) http://www.visajourn...i/index.php/DOS

Don't forget to read the Embassy pages and reviews (also at the top of the page in the thin blue menu bar) You will learn the rules and ways for your country. Stevi--I know London, so PM me if you have questions. Also I have a total packet 3 scanned if you want a preview. You will have to send me your real email address so I can add you to the list of persons I am "sharing" the online folder with. You access the folder and download, save, print...whatever you want.

Good luck all.

Maria--I don't know what the 18 days at Juarez Consulate means (where they get that data), but the point it--IT'S FASTER THAN EVERYBODY. Yipee for you. I looked at some timelines and some California to NVC took a week to get there. Others took several weeks. Wait until next Wednesday and call the NVC. They are open until 9 pm your time to answer the phone

NVC-603-334-0700, press 1 for English, press 5 to talk to a person.
Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (EST).
Best time to call is 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM to 12:00 PM.(Eastern time)

Don't enter any case numbers into their automated system because K1s aren't ever put in that system. They are just briefly passing through there on the way to the foreign Embassy. You have to talk to a live person. You'll get busy signal alot or the menu robot will keep bumping you about saying there's too many calls. Just hang up and try in 15 min.

Questions to ask the person:
1. Have you received my K1 petition from the USCIS? (You tell them the receipt number from your NOA1- WACxxxxxxx. They will ask your name, Jorge's name and both birthdates to verify you.)

2. (If they have it) What date did you receive it and what date did it get sent to the Embassy? (If they haven't sent it out yet, you can call back next day to see if it's gone.)

3. Can you tell me my new case number? (That's your new Dept of State and Embassy file number. Mine started with LND for London, so I guess yours might be RDJxxxxxxxxx) You will get a letter from the NVC later with that number.

Everybody else on this thread, copy and paste this info somewhere in your notes so you'll have it when your NOA2 comes through.

It doesn't look like he has to wait for an appointment. If you look up there with the Embassy info menu at the top of the page you can find reviews of what people did at their interview. Be sure you look for K1 people, not CR1. Read what they had to say. I read a few and some were rambling, but I got the idea that you don't have to wait for an appointment, but you could wait 8 hours on the day you show up. I didn't take much time to understand them, so you might can figure a few things out if you read carefully.

Yes, Nick's interview is next Tuesday! Very exciting to have gotten this far. Remember our old group on the map I made? Bex already has a visa. Aleena from Romania is on a plane right now to the USA. The waiting doesn't seem so bad now that it's almost done, but we were crazy before NOA2. Good luck figuring your stuff out.

BINGO! Maria
http://ciudadjuarez.....gov/hivfiance/

http://ciudadjuarez....visa-forms.html

You send Jorge the Affidavit of Support Form I-134 with proofs of income like 2007 tax transcript (free from the IRS), recent pay stubs, letter from employer.

No police certificate from you.

He probably doesn't need your birth certificate. Read those reviews from the embassy and see if anybody had to show one besides the person interviewed. You can order another one...certified copy if your dad doesn't want you to send the one you have. Birth certificates are always available, but I don't know the process in WA. I sent mine just in case.

Read this. You are on Step 4, the red one. http://www.visajourn...amp;page=k1flow

Juarez graph is on this page. Short processing time! http://www.visajourn...e-k1-historical

You'll calm down eventually and figure all this out. Enjoy the moment and the party kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Yay Maria! I'm really excited for you because we started waiting together over in the other March. Amazing how relieved you feel when you get that NOA2. There's some more waiting, but it's shorter and much more bearable. Wow. Have you looked at this http://www.visajourn...e...&cty=Juarez It tells the medical fee. I think the visa is the same everywhere, but I don't remember...around $130 I think.

Update: NVC recieved the petition and "within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post". It's nice to see things actually start moving after the NOA2.

I'm also in Houston, inside the 610 loop, but it looks like the Hurricane is going to miss us by a good ways.

Yeah just checked the tracking and it is still headed northward so we bit the bullet again.

No, we dodged the bullet again. laughing.gif
I'm not dismissing it until after tomorrow's early update. I've lived on the coast my whole life and have seen some like Carla, stop moving forward and just bobble around getting bigger for a couple of days, then going in a different direction. Dr. Neil (Channel 11) said after tomorrow morning's bulletin, we can be pretty sure where we stand. I'm still on semi-alert to get out of Dodge if needed, but my biggest concern is flooding, which would have to be a Category 4-5 being about 8 miles inland from Surfside and Freeport. Wind and rain aren't as much of a concern. My dad's theory was always that he'd rather be in the house to put out buckets, mop up water by a broken window, or nail a board over a hole in the roof, so I've been through a few smallish ones. I guess that's why they don't scare me quite so much because I've "ridden out" a few as they say.

Do you guys know you can call NVC and find out when your file got there and when it leaves and your new case number. London case will be something like LNDxxxxxxxxx. It's an abbreviation of the Embassy.

NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 for English and 5 to talk to someone.
Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (EST). Best time to call is 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM to 12:00 PM.
Don't enter your receipt number in the automated system. That doesn't work for K1s. Not put in the system. You must speak to a person.

Afer you know when it leaves, then you can track it through DHL all the way to the Embassy.
