When they were flying through them and giving out NOA2s in a month, we were a lot more hopeful. Now, all we can do is pray. Check careful When you click on your case number and you get the screen: My Case Status that screen was modified and maybe that is why we got touched..oh well. I don't know if many of you will noticed at least one of the redesign. I think that was the reason why we got touched..maybe the new application set the day when the few small makeups of the website came live on Sunday. That could very much be true. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Latin Two Last Names Difficulties	Hello all! My husband and I got married about three weeks ago and we were so thrilled to get our marriage license back today. We went into the drivers license office to change my name and address and get an application for him (he had a drivers license when he lived here back in 2000 to 2001 but it expired in Jan of this year) and they told me that since his last name on the marriage license has both his fathers and mothers last name, I could only change my last name on the license to the last (in order) name on the marriage certificate, even though that is not his official last name. His old license has only his official last name (his fathers last name, I should say) and also the SS card they issued him in 2001 only has that one last name on it. Nevertheless, we were told that he would have to go to court to officially change his name, then we would have to go to the SS office to change both of our names, and THEN wed have to get an amended marriage license before we can do anything else. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Singapore Police Certificates	My husband spent a year in Singapore getting his Master’s degree. I know we need the police certification but we are confused as to whether or not he has to go to Singapore to get them. I found a link via the National Visa Center’s website to the Singapore police online that says that he can take figure prints from any foreign police/law enforcement agency and send them to Singapore along with other paperwork, pictures, ect. However, when a friend in Singapore was asked to verify this at the Singapore police station, he was told that my husband will have to apply in person! Help, has anyone gone through this before. I have my first appointment for filing the I-130 on next monday, the 30th, which is, most unfortunately, the first day that the new charges kick in!! Ouch!! Anyone have any helpful info for this first step? I have everything together, just a few final questions left on some of the forms, but nothing big. I've basically just gone through the checklist that the embassy provided and have all that together. Any suggestions?? We're filing for a K1 visa. And we haven't yet gotten to the embassy part of the process yet, so I can't speak from personal experience- but everything I've heard about the Japanese embassy has been really relieving. I've heard that the interviewers are friendly and the interview itself is pretty quick and painless. National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Best method of checking case status	I've sent an e-mail about my case to the NVC since it's been a week since my NOA2 on our K1 petition. I sent it on Sunday night and have yet to receive a reply. On the NVC's contact information they stated that e-mail is their preferred method, but is it really that efficient in comparison to calling? So! My question basically is: Is e-mailing for case status to the NVC recommended? What is the estimated time is takes to receive a reply? Should we all just forget about e-mailing and call in? I did call in on Monday afternoon just to check, but I was a little bit hopeful that when my case does arrive (I was told it hadn't) that I'll receive a reply to my e-mail. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Petitioner Unemployed but has Co-sponsor, Now the paperwork?!	I asked this question (accidently) in the wrong forum, so hopefully I'll get some more responses here because my confusion has already deepend. I mailed my fiance all of the documentation that he would need (I-134, etc) a month ago. Last week a ridiculous chain in events led to me putting in my two weeks notice at my workplace. I technically made enough to be his sponsor, but I did have my father fill out an I-134 as co-sponsor just to be on the safe-side. Since there is no chance that I will still be employed by the time my fiance has his interview I have a question as to how the paperwork should be arranged with the new situation. I do know that, with a co-sponsor who makes enough salary to support us all, that there shouldn't be a problem with my fiance getting approved. However, my question is: Should I fill out, notarize, and send my fiance a new I-134 from me showing that I have no job? Or should my fiance just not give an I-134 from me at the interview and only supply the co-sponsor Affidavit of Support? Or even, have him turn over my co-sponsor's I-134 and a statement from myself which would say something along the lines of "I will be employed by the time my fiance applies for Adjustment of Status" Any input is welcome. I especially would like to hear from someone who was also unemployed and had to rely on a co-sponsor for their interview so that I can hear how someone else handled this. I want to make sure I do this 'properly' as that I don't want to upset the lean, mean, beaurocratic machine and thus somehow end up without a visa for my fiance due to paperwork not being 'perfect'. I'm sure I've got a while- USCIS has been moving at a breakneck speed (for a snail) with every step of the process for us, so I'll use the time to make sure things are taken care of. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL FILER	This is soooo frustrating! I'm not happy with the wait either, I check every day and nothing. I even called my mom and told her to look out for the NOA2 in the mail, just in case! I feel like they got the petition, took my check and cashed it and then threw my petition in a box some place never to be looked at it again. No touches or anything! Let's all just hope they get to our box of petitions soon and start handing out those NOA2! You and me both! I think I'm driving my co-workers crazy because all I can talk about is how I haven't gotten my NOA2.
