K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 29 f sent back for revocation
Oh goodness that doesnt sound promising at all. Im thinking i should just wait it out, and all will be fine, but i m reading otherwise...how long does something like this usually take to get finalized?I feel uncomfrotable abadoning something i spent so much time on but if i will only get lost in nvc hell then i need to think of a new game plan.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 29 f sent back for revocation
im not sure if I29f expires or not? I will research on how to get my congressman involved. As im reading these forums I see that I made a mistake by letting the petition get out of nigeria.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 29 f sent back for revocation
So me and my fiance had our I 29 f approved and he had to go to the embassy for his interview in May of 2008. He went and they denied it, stating that that our realtionship wasnt bonifide...whatever... so they sent it back.. to USCIS for possible revocation.

So of course im fuming but I know that love will prevail and we will be together. Well it took the nigerain Embassy from may until January of 2009 to send the petition back..very frustratuing but again im patient because im sure it will all work out.

So our petition was sent back and recieved in Vermont in January of 2009 for possible revocation. It is August 16th and I have not head one word from Vermont. I have called many times to put in expedited requests, and my expedited request was denied. I have put in 2 service orders, and they send me a letter saying that they are working on it and sorry for the delay.

What the world can I do to make these people tell me what is going on. It has been 8 months, and its so hard to not know whats going on.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHas anyone been approved by Vermont??
Have posted same question several times without response. My thoughts they are voting Republican and funding and staff have been reduced so we all will put pressure to vote Dem. in three months. :help: They were in position to win the gold in March when we applied for NOA! but don't think they will make the semi's in this Olympic year. We have our time table and they have theirs and I think they are still in charge so we just need to be patient and wait. I am sure there is a reason for no explanation and that they are doing the best with the resources they have. They have just gotten behind and difficult to catch up.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk1 cancellation
We received our NOA2 two weeks ago and now my beneficiary wants to continue with K-1 VISA but wants to come to US and marry first week then return to China for two year's to finish her retirement with government. In China retire at 50 years old. My answer was no because I provide our income and I am only one with home and I live and work in US. I am 65 and two years is a long time. She has been called by embassy to expect a package and I received NOA2 letter. If she gets VISA in Guangzhou how long does she have until she must marry me. I will not marry her and be in US for two years while she is in China for two years. If the case is that we must marry then how do I stop the VISA process now. I have not paid any fees and I have not received anything from NVC. If I do nothing will the process just die or am I liable for anything at this point. I have made several trips to China for a month at a time and this was a surprise. Some advice from wiser than I am would be appreciated. At this point I do not know if I can trust her so I really just want to cut my losses and stop this K1 process with me being the beneficiary. Her English is very poor and I got an interpreter to help but I still hear she wants to come back to China after marriage in US.

Thanks in advance for help

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 cancellation after receiving NOA2

GUZ IV has no fax # for intake.

Instead, call into NVC, inquire how to cancel, and do exactly what they tell you.

If they are stumped, you'll need to email GUZ IV and cancel the petition.

re: her plan - is frought with errors regardless, as WHEN she comes into the USA, she has to:
1. get married to you
2. file for Adjustment of Status
3. receive greencard
and
1-3 takes anywhere from 4 to 12 months.

If she turns around same day, she loses all , as the K-1 is 'single use only'
and
she has no further basis to enter the USA. To 'come back' you'd wind up filing a I-130 petition, followed up by a visa application for a CR-1, with another interview in Guangzhou. I have some sense that you really don't want to do that.

Good Luck - what ever she decides. If she's taking advice from the harpies at the 001 BBS, tell her to tell the Aunties that Uncle Darnell say hullo.

I did not realize the K-1 was a "single use only" Only received NOA2 on Sept 18th and she already has packet from GUZ embassy received today. I was thinking there was a fee I need to pay NVC or GUZ before they would send packets to Beneficiary. I need to go back and look because they would accept this payment by ACH transfer from my checking account. I have only paid Vermont thru Texas lockbox no other funds have been sent to UCSIS, NVC or GUZ. I think she is under impression she can get VISA and then just go back and forth to China. Also another question: If she does get to US and I do not marry her in 90 day period does this also not void the K-1? Thanks for helpful information

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 cancellation after receiving NOA2
When we received our NOA2 my beneficiary informed me she wanted to come to US and get married after getting VISA then immediately return to China and work out her retirement until age 50 for her. That would take two years. I have job, house and investments in US so I have no choice but to live in US. I said no. Need to cancel K1 process. Do not trust what next surprise will be. I am 65 and two years long time. Help please

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 petition information
Why is Vermont Service Center running so far behind California? Must be a logical explanation that they suddenly have fewer K-1 Visa's to process but jumped in last place a month or more behind California Service Center. Will this trend continue and the gap increase? It was so dramatic that I am just curious what administration in Vermont is up against that we do not know. Any information would be informative. Maybe an answer has been posted and I have missed reading. If so direct me to the explanation. Thanks again for your help in so many ways.

I, too, misunderstood the two year rule. Wow, all this time I thought you had to have met at least two years before filing, but I was wrong. ThomLin, I may have confused you yesterday with my message. Luckily it sounds like you are getting some good advice from many fellow Visa Journey friends.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAOS and medical
Yes I know he does not need a new medical, but the way the regulations state is that he does not need to transcribe the vaccination onto a I-693 either if it was done properly the first time...from what I read, there is no need to do this either....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAOS and medical
Hi,I have a question I hope someone can answer,we are putting our AOS packet together,we find out now that we need to see a civil surgeon to transcribe my fiances vaccination report onto an i-693,he does not need a medical since his last one was less then a year ago, here is the thing, everyone say's you NEED to have this done, yet on the i-693 instruction sheet section 3 paragraph 2. it states...."If the vaccination record(DS 3025)was not properly completed and included as part of the original, overseas medicalexamination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a civi surgeon"..Now his WAS properly completed and part of the original package and he has a photo copy of the vaccinations sighned by the doctor in Canada...So my question is..does he have to have this done anyways?...any insight would be appreciated.....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion on VSC -> NVC for I-129F
I got an email Sept 7 saying that they mailed my notice of approval on September 2nd (but still haven't recieved the hard copy). But USCIS website says it was last touched on 9/7 too. Maybe they'll get sent to NVC together. I just hope that is very, very soon!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout the Form I-134 for K-1
This is the website with the poverty guidline chart. Forgot to include it above!

magenFemaleGuatemala2011-09-12 13:16:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout the Form I-134 for K-1

USCIS Website says this:

"Do the Same Income Requirements Apply to Form I-134 as Apply to Form I-864?

No. The 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline minimum income requirement, the most recent year's tax return, and other requirements only apply when Form I-864 is needed. Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline."

http://travel.state....types_2994.html

And this website has a nice graph to help you determine what you need to make to meet 100% of the poverty guideline considering your family size. According to this, a family of 3 only needs $18,530 to make 100% of the poverty level.

Hope that helps!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChildren NOT Traveling listed on Interview Appointment Letter
When my fiance and I filled out our original paperwork, we listed his son, who lives with his mother, but put that he would not be traveling now or later. The embassy emailed me my fiance's appointment letter today and under "Traveling Applicants," his son's name is listed. There is a part of Visa Application that again asks for children's name and whether they will be traveling now or later and we will again put no. But should I worry that his son's name being on the appointment letter will some how mess us up? (especially in regards to the affidavit of support counting for 3 people instead of just my fiance and I??) I thought I saw this same problem in this forum sometime before, but of course I can't find it now when it actually applies to me. I sent an email back to the embassy asking about this and will hopefully get a reply tomorrow but I just wanted to see if anyone else had any insight.

Thanks!

Hello Ginimerlo and thank you soooo much for the reply, you are correct some of this information is a little confusing. I have done some research and found that on his b2 visa we could marry but it cant be planned!? If it is true and I can plan a wedding by all means I would like to know, so that I can save a little $$$$ and a few headaches. I plan to consult an attorney as well to see what would be the most efficient and economical method. I will certainly keep VJ and you informed. thanks again

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStarting at Scratch

Hello AmeriCaribbean,

The process can be super confusing at the beginning so I recommend reading and re-reading! I dont remember needing the birth certificate at the time I applied for the I-129F, I think in the example forms you can use a different document to show proof of citizenship such as passport. VJ does a great job with the examples of forms so yuo should nbe able to find it there. As far as the pictures go yes you will need the real pictures not copies of passport. And 3rd, since he has working visas for the US are you sure you need to file for a fiance visa? ypu may be able to marry him and do an adjustment of status but dont quote me! do some research.
Best of luck and make sure you read! All the info VJ has and the members add its priceless!
Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStarting at Scratch
My Fiance and I have been engaged almost a year and plan to marry next year. Im a US citizen and he is a Citizen of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I met him on a cruise , I was the passenger and he was crew(as he currently is) he holds a CD-1 Visa for work. I traveled to St. V LAST YEAR, when we became engaged and he returned to the states with me for a month on a B2 visa. He then returned to work for 8 months until his vacation began on 8/24/11 until today :crying:. He will be returning to Europe where his current ship is cruising on a Schengen Visa (I KNOW HE HOLDS ALOT OF VISAS) While he was here I explained the fiance Visa and its requirements, but some Im a little confused on, because my fiance has so many Visas for work that require some of the same things as this Visa. Since he is an employee of Royal Caribbean he is required to medical exams on the regular, WILL THIS SUFFICE? when we apply for the fiance Visa. Also I copied his passport and all the Visas, but I didnt get a copy of his birth certificate, so will this work or will we somehow, someway need the birth certificate? Also I saw something saying a passport sized picture will be needed but I dont have so is the passport itself good enough... As you can see I have a few things going but really need to get on the ball... Please Help, all advice will be greatly appreciated.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA big problem please I really need help now... URGENT. (merged)
  • Actually co-sponsor is sometimes accepted and sometimes not it really all depends on who the counselor is on that day. I just recently did a guys paper work for him and we used his dad as a sponsor and it was approved within 5 months of the day from the time he got the NOA1- visa interview approved.. I would suggest if using a c0-sponsor make it a very close relative like a mother, father, or brother or sister...Goodluck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStarting the K-1 Visa Process...
Thank you for all your advice. I never anticipated this journey to be quick by any means. Patience is one thing i'm trying to learn to be better about. I just want to make sure I do things right the first time. I hear stories all the time, of how one paper missing, or one unsigned paper can cost you 3-6 months.

Any help is appreciated.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStarting the K-1 Visa Process...
Hello,

I'm Janaan, and I'm a newbie to all the process. I am here in Tennessee, and my fiancee is in Morocco. I hope to be applying for him to come in September/October of 2009. I just want to know what to expect while starting the process. How long does everything take from begininng to end. A guesstamation is fine. Also, what is everything abroad going to cost? What forums should I apply first and how to go about everything.

At the moment I'm in school and working as well as taking care of my child who is under the age of six, but is starting elementary school this year. So, being able to assist him during the interview would be impossible. Do I have to attend with him? Any information would be helpful.

Before I close, I must state that his parents are not fond of me for cultural reasons, of being divorced and raising a child alone. Will this effect us trying to get the K-1 visa during the interview?

Any advice would help.

Thank you,

Janaan

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport valid for 6 months policy?
I don't know if this applies to all Nationalities but with a UK passport when you renew it you need a professional person who has known you for 2 years to sign the back of the photo so you will need to have been in the US for at least 2 years before you can renew a passport therefor I would suggest you need at least 2 years on your passport when you arrive in the US.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSetting a Date?

Unfortunately we all have this problem. I am not going to start planning our wedding until my fiancee tells me that he passed the interview. That is really the safest and the best time to start planning. It sucks because you only have 90 days to get married after they arrive, but for me at least i know it is for sure to start planning. I wish i could plan now. I just learned through all of this to just be patient which at times is really hard. Good luck with the rest of your journey.

AJ1

I'm planning mine and getting the stuff I can get in advance and my mother and I are doing almost everything ourselves. We are even cooking ( I make the best BBQ around here) and my mother bless her soul is making my cake and dress. So we can buy up most of our things in advance that way. It's also a blessing that i am from a small town I only need 3 months advance notice tops to get the wedding/reception cite I want.SO IMHO I believe you can plan on a lot of things that aren't part of a time schedule, I know some will disagree with me and thats okay cause I'm not in a contest to be right.

Have a read of the descriptions under the various forum titles. e.g. Questions relating to NVC should be posted in the NVC forum. Questions relating the interview and or consulate process including those on the I-134, medical, police, certificate etc, should be posted in the Foreign Embassy Forum.

Congrats on the NOA2
