From an immigration standpoint, and considering what visa you are applying for, ideally, it should be current...that way the USEM doesn't have any doubts about the applicant contracting marriage within such a short period.

The funny thing is, it takes about 3 weeks to get a CENOMAR (guys, correct me if I am wrong about this)...and 10 business days to get a marriage license...there's some room for doubt there. lol But very little.

wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got it that quick!!!! I would love to have to just wait 6 weeks for it that is awesome!!!! Pam is in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan ........Did Melanie get all her stuff done yet? Pam got all her paperwork this week that she needs. Her Passport will be in next week .......I even had her get a TB test yesterday (which was negative)and when she wakes up she is going to the hospital for a chest ex ray to be checked !!!!!! I don't want to take any chances with a delay!!! Those 2 things cost less than $10.00 hehehe


I really was thorough when I sent the packet. Checked and rechecked and checked again!!

Melanie has all her documentation in order so we should be in good shape when the time comes. She just got her passport renewed so that's done......I can't wait for this to be done!

I'm a VSC Filer, but not getting my hopes up it will be so quick. I looked at the history and there was an almost dead stop at VSC earlier in the year and CSC was zooming ahead. It seems to go in spurts. If you are looking for other September filers there is a forum for September 2009 filers and one for September 2009 CSC filers.

I have no idea how to give you the links to those though smile.gif But I am sure you will find them. A lot of nice people on there.

Just a question. I look at the USCIS website everyday (like most of us waiting) hoping to see that it has been touched!!!!! .....I was excited when they first got it since it was touched 3 times in the first 9 days they have had it.....Now it has been more than a month since the last time it was touched. I know this is probably normal but I am just getting worried.....Is anyone else haveing the same issue with California service center because I noticed Vermont is still pumping them out within a months time.

What I had my Pam do was Go to the hospital and get a TB test and chest x-ray once we first put the paperwork in just to make sure there would be no delay.......and to be honest it was a total of $10.00 american so it was well worth it to have piece of mind going into the Medical exam.

No funerals are no the same. There is a viewing of the person usually at that person's home for a couple of days to a week i think. One of my wife's cousin's died right after i got to the PI and the vigal went on for 3 days at her house and then another couple of days at her parents before the burial. As far as delivery of the flowers...they are sent out LBC (courier from manila) to every part of the philippines.



ok now i understand because I couldnt understand why the burial is saturday ....... so the wake is like a week long ...know i know why she has said that she hasnt been sleeping well

You only need to show last years Tax Return, Don't know why people think you need 3 years.

I told her I never even heard of it and it was a waste!!! we have everything ready to go even went as far as getting a tb test and chest x-ray!!!......and the interview seems fairly easy......But as we know when a female gets something stuck in their head it stays there that is why she agreed to let the VJ'rs make the decission for us!!!!.....Especially when it is a family member!!!!

Has any one ever used a consultant for their interview? My Pam said that she met a family friend at her brothers wake that stated this is what he does for a living. He prepares people for their interview and makes sure all is in order for 3k pesos......I told her that it would be a waste of money since all the paperwork already done and she has all she needs for the interview, medical, and class.......so we decided to let the people on VJ make the decission for us.....What do you think? Should she do it or are we good to go with everything already in?

I am starting to get excited I just went through the timelines and looks like the people who put the AO1 in 2 weeks before me are starting to get the AO2 this past week!!!!! I home in 2 weeks but with this holiday and with Christmas comming up when do you think I would actuall get everything??? Mine, I just had one clearbook. And I compiled it this way(from first page to last page of the clear book)--
1st page: Appointment/confirmation e-mail print out

2nd page: NOA coversheet then inserted facing the opposite side of the plastic sheet is the 1 and 2 hardcopies

3rd page: Packet3 snail mail from USEM with photocopy of it

4th: printed out a coversheet (again) for FORMS then inserted facing the opposite side of the plastic sheet are the ff: DS 156(2copies); DS 156K(1copy); DS 230(1copy); DS 157(2copies)
note: DS 157 was given to me and validated when I paid the BDO bank for the visa application fee and make sure make one additional copy of it. Paste your visa pix. Don't leave anything blank..type N/A if not applicable.

5th: photocopies of front/back part of my passport

6th: NBI and Police clearance

7th: cenomar and authenticated Birth Cert

8th: Printed out a coversheet for AOS( Affidavit of Support) Form I-123

9th: ITR 2008 of fiance

10th: Financial statements of fiance / Bank Statements

11th: Proof of communication coversheet

12th: phonebills, chatlogs(if there is any.. in our case we just had a 2 long coupon bonds of print out chats only), receipts(can be paste in the coupon bond, too), pictures together, emails, snail mails, e-cards and etc.

note: I suggest not to put your pictures on a hard bound folder or album or scrapbook.. i had 2 friends whom I met during the interview.. one made a scrapbook and since the over sized scrapbook won't slide-in in the tiny window hole..what she did she tore the pages. Then the other friend had it in an album, she was only asked to choose at least 5 pictures(sayang din). In our case, I just paste all our pictures in a dozen of long bond paper and hand written the dates,location and wrote simple captions.Then I put it in a different brown paper envelope.
** I also put our emails on a different brown paper envelope.
