Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAugust 2009 I-751 filers
QUOTE (bbzhel @ Aug 31 2009, 10:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello fellow filers.... I received today my I-797C, NOA Receipt Notice.
Can anyone pls. update me... I don't know how to do it.... hehehe!!!!

I have a question... Is this the letter that I'll be using together with my expired green card when I travel abroad? I already have plain tickets for my vacation back home on Jan. 2010. I hope this it..... And hoping that I'm not going to received an RFE letter.

Another and final question, hehehe!!!! How will I know the updates or replies from this forum? I never received any emails, so at least I can be updated.

Thanks everyone!

When is your date on the reciept notice?

Africa: Sub-SaharanPoint of Entry???
QUOTE (moon1968 @ Sep 18 2007, 09:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Sorry if this is a dumb Question but I am learing as I go.......I know point of entry is at the Airport when he enters the US.....What happens at the point of entry? and will he need any Documentation? Is there anything else we need to know ??? thank you .....

He will need to bring with him the brown sealed envelope and deliver to the place where he use to show his passport. This officer will then follow him to an immigration officer which will look at his documents and ask a few questions.

For me it took about a half hour.

I can tell that we had the same feelings too when after applying for K-1. But was told that if married while waiting we would maybe ran into problems and frustrations and delay our case badly. Why would you even waste those money on a K-1 and start over?
Why not go through this K-1 procedure and look forward to be married. It's just a matter of patience whistling.gif

It's wonderful that you are thinking of your mother. But your K-1 will be done before february if it's a simple case without any background issues that will delay your case

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical Exam

Hi All,
I am curious to know which tests are involved with the medical exam. I was told they do they the HIVs test and take xrays too, but which tests are done exactly?
chispas

For me it was bloodtest on HIV and syphilis
Bloodpressure
Check on vaccinations.,
X-ray for tuberculosis.

For me the cost was $600 exclude vaccinations.
Maybe different from country to country
The embassy had speciel doctors I should use
Make sure missing vaccinations is taken before you arrive
They do fill out a form with those.
I had a letter from the embassy about which vaccinations I needed to have.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice certificate

Everything gotta be in English
If not then translated by a registred translater.

I am from Denmark and went to the local policestation and they granted me a police certificate right away.
I could get it in all languages so didn't had to get it translated to English.
So try to call your policestation and see if they do the same as in Denmark

I am not so sure you are correct. I am copying from the Instructions for immigrant visa applicants document (barely legible says: Optional Form 169 (CPC) 4- illegible Department of State - that I received from our DCF consulate: Under 10. it reads: TRANSLATIONS: All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified English translations. Translations must be certified by a competent translator and sworn to before a Notary Public. (All documents in Japanese must be translated.)

My police certificate is in the local language and I have not translated it - they even wrote in my local language what is the name of the certificates I needed.

I have interview on Tuesday so I can let you know how it all went.

**** Just to add - I do not know how it goes with NVC but only about the DCF filing and processing.*****

Hi again

I should translate everything into English. And this almost broke me because of the costs on this.
Maybe it's different from country to country

Very good luck at the interview

Well if you commit a Feloney for example, and tried to do a runner to the US on your K visa.

ok then my question will be.
If I am approved after filing I-601
Will I then still have problems at POE?
What is the procedure when I go to POE with my K-1 after this?

I mean they have in the proces on I-601 already investigated me with background check, finger prints and everything.
What would the problem be at the POE?
Mr and Mrs BirdFemaleDenmark2007-01-07 01:45:00

Before I am getting too worry I will ask.
What should the reason be for a K1-visa holder to be denied entry at the POE?

I mean when I leave my country this day I won't have anything to go back to if denied.

Sorry for being a little bit out of OP topic.

I was very silent when I saw your situation because my son is 16 on a K-2 visa and I have always thought that we should apply again before he is turning 18.
I guess we can wait until he is 21 then.
Am I right?

We need more facts to be able to help you.

Apply again? For what?
Is your son in the US or Denmark?
Does he already have a K-2 visa?
If not, was he listed on your I-129F petition?

Ok I just created another topic on my own situation.

Hi friend

I can tell you that I can't visit my fiance in us because I am the person who need a I-601 form completed first.
I can't just go and give him a visit on a normal passport because of my intentions with my fiance.
It's 2 years ago I visit him last time.
I don't know about your situation as well.
Did you see my other responses to you?

CanadaInterview in the morning few questions
Hi

I went to this interview back in may 2006. But in Denmark
All the papers was sended to me and no doubt about what they needed.
Beforehand somebody told me that when you enter the embassy please don't have any carry on.
I heard about a guy who had a rucksack with personally stuff because of a stay on a hotel.
They didn't let him in and gave him a new appointment.
I thought it was good for you to know this.
Would be such a shame to be ignored for such an innocent thing.
I wish you very good luck to this interview.

Canadato become an american citizen or not
My only reason to not become a US Citizen is because my homecountry dosn't accept dual citizenship.
I would loose my retirement money when this time comes.

If they are changing those rules I will become a US citizen only because I wouldn't have to deal with USCIS anymore.

Well, We have only had jointly bank account in 2009, so haven't send more than 2 statements. I really hope this is not an issue unsure.gif

What exactly we have to do in order to do that!!!!! And do we have to go to the social security office to request her SS or it will come automaticly?

Any thoughts?

90 days before her greencard expires your window is open to apply for Removal of Conditions. Till then you can relaxe.

You need to go to the social security office to request her SSN. Bring her green card and birth certificat.
It won't come automatic. smile.gif

I recieved a letter from DMV last week that they need to see an extention letter in order to keep my ID card. I guess this is my driverslicense. My green card expires oct 23 2009 and they need it 61 days before it expires. Has anyone had the same letter?

I was wondering if I need to go to the SS office too. Or is my SSN card good forever?

Any experience about this guys?

I received the 1 YR extension letter (NOA) on May 2009, when will it expire? My conditional GC (2 yr) expired on August 2009.

I believe its from the reciept date from your NOA letter. But I am not sure.

Hi all biggrin.gif

I have seen so many people here having problems checking their status online.
Including myself for a little while ago, where a smart person told me to wait untill I had my Biometric Appointment Letter.

The application number on this letter is the magic number you guys need to use and nothing else.

I would be very happy if this can help all in here that may have had this problem.

Good luck to all you guys. wink.gif
