Dear Shahsu, the AP took 17 days

The interview was so easy and took 5 minutes only. It was like she already knew what she had to tell me. She even didn't look at my evidences... but I waited 2 hours for my turn. If you have any question, just PM me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisa Approved!
Hi,
Today morning I received an email from the US embassy in Abu Dhabi informing that administrative process is now complete and my case number was posted on their web site already. They have not updated the website yet though but I think once it gets updated I'll find mine among the numbers. It's so interesting that they sent this message in a reply thread of my old correspondences with them!
I'm happy!

has anyone checked out the premium processing deal? it says you pay $1000 and they make a 15 day process.

I wish that were true. I would have been willing to pay $1,000 for fast processing. However, this is only for employment non-immigrant visas.

Oh! You will be visiting each other in 4 days... good for you!

Are you the beneficiary or the petitioner?
Be more patient for still you have a long way to go. To me the most difficult part was waiting for interview appointment. For some unknown reasons at this stage most people think their documents are lost somewhere and never got to embassy and I was one of those of course hahaaha
Don't worry! Things will go good and you'll be together before you know!

Middle East and North AfricaMedical Examination in Abu Dhabi
My interview date is Sunday (January24) and I'll get to ABDH on Friday (there are 3 flights from Tehran to ABDH per week - Sunday/Wednesday/Friday)! I have to do the medical examination Friday to get the result Saturday BUT the problem is that Friday and Saturday are weekend time in ABDH! Does any one know if medical centers are open and handle the examination during weekend there? I wrote to Dr. McCulloch and he replied that his clinic is closed during weekend... how about the other two centers?

thank you so much
how come my job would be a factor?i mean i have been unemployed all my life but i thought his job and his tax returns will be the main thing they focus on as far as income and job goes

ok, that's much better! I mean being unemployed is much better because it would make your chance of going through an AP much lower!

Middle East and North Africashould we get it done legally?
don't panic!! I feel like you are some how torturing yourself with thinking so negatively! Relax... you are not the first Iranian who is getting married to a Christian American, who happened to be in military.
No need to take the police certificate because they won't even ask for it. It will be just a tiring trip to Police+1 in Tehran for you and an extra expense for translation.
The things that they do not care are: His job - age differences - religion - confirmation form parents or any body
The things that they do care are: Your job - if you have met before - financial support - medical examination papers and all the other forms which should be filled in accurately and honestly - your photos and evidence of your relationship.
Be in touch with the Iranians who have had interview in Ankara or are in the waiting list, then you'll feel much better! I'm here also, although my interview was in Abu Dhabi.
Good Luck!

Middle East and North AfricaTraveling to Iran after IR-1 / CR-1

She wants to change her last name to mine when we are married in the USA, how does that work with her current Persian Identification Card? Will there be any conflicts with her last name changing? Her current Persian Identification Card has her listed as single, never married, although she was married for a short period of time 23 years ago.

No it has got nothing to do with that! When you two go to register your marriage in Persian way, you will only have your name registered in her Certificate of Birth and her Persian last name will not change in her Persian ID card because in Iran we do not change our name after marriage, so all the documents which are to be used in Iran only, like her Persian passport & ID card will have her Persian name (maiden name) - But here in the US, she changes her last name to your last name and her ID card, driver's license and in the future her American passport will have her new American last name!
So as you see, the documents which are to be used in Iran have her Persian name, and the documents which are to be used only in the USA have her American name... it will make no conflict!

Thank you so much for your reply, this helps me to better understand the requirements and process, I'm sure it'll raise other questions and concerns along the way.

feel free to ask me any question!

There won't be any trouble. She will enter Iran with her own Persian passport in which her maiden name is written. But if you want to be able to go to Iran together with her, the story changes and definitely she knows about it so good! I'm talking about having you registered in her Persian Identification card. In Iran, a birth certificate some how looks like a passport, I mean it has some pages that each page has a different usage. One of the pages is for registering your spouse name in... if that page is blank, you are still single! I do not have my husband's name registered in my ID card yet, but I suppose we have to contact The Foreign Interests Section of the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC, which acts as protecting power for the interest of Iran in the USA to learn about what to do! (Iranians please correct me if I'm wrong)

My interview was in Abu Dhabi. Their process is TOTALLY different from Ankara's.
They will send the packet 3&4 to you (a combo packet), I mean to the petitioner in the USA. All forms are on line to download any way and what they will send is almost a checklist for you to make sure what to have with you for interview. The most important thing in that packet is the interview letter that he will need to have with him for interview... you can scan and send that to him by email.
I downloaded and filled in all the forms even before receiving the combo packet after NOA2...

please check this link and you'll find out every thing about Abu Dhabi embassy and the requited forms for the interview! Good Luck!

Abu Dhabi

Also please check the USA consulate in Abu Dhabi website.
USA Consulate

How come you do not know where his interview will be? They asked about it in I129F, didn't they? Any way, make sure about it and if he is going to have the interview in Abu Dhabi, count on my help. I'm here to answer any question that you may have!

Middle East and North AfricaGoing to Iran!
Actually I wanted to tell you about it when we were writing about going to Iran that my mom and my sister keep telling me no to go home for the Persian New Year but I didn't tell you because I believe they are too much worried because several friends of mine are already gone there now and they are planning to come back after New Year holidays! They told me that they are having so much fun and they just stay away from riots and troubles, you know what I mean?!
As I remember your fiance lives in Shiraz! May be Shiraz is not having so many movements as Tehran. The best person who can tell you if it would be safe to go or not is your fiance! Ask him about Shiraz situation(and let me know also :P )

Cheryl, visit this website: http://www.daftar.org - Hussain can call & talk to them also. They are helpful. This is website of the interest section of Iran in the USA. You can download all the forms and info that you need for registering your marriage in the Iranian way and stuff like that. Don't worry, you are not the first American woman that is married to an Iranian man. They know how to handle it.

Middle East and North AfricaTraveling with Green Card // Iranian Passport

Cheryl, European countries usually take it hard for the Iranians that are living in Iran. He is resident of USA now. European embassies issue visa for Iranians who are resident of USA easily. You only need to get visa from one of those countries. One Schengen visa works for all European Union countries. Give it a try!
