Middle East and North Africa	past relationships?	I'm not from this forum either but I just wanted to say I'm so sorry your husband is having a hard time with this. Sometimes people are jealous even when they have absolutely nothing to be jealous of. I would sit down with him calmly, hold him, look him in the eyes and tell him it doesn't matter who you dated before, all that matters is who is in front of you now and who you want for the rest of your life...him. You need to be honest and tell him that it isn't fair to make you feel bad for having a life before him. I hope you two can resolve this issue with communication and a little bit of forgiveness. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	So I think I've screwed up...	Welcome to VJ! I know that it's quite a shock to realize how difficult a process it is to get your love to the U.S. I'm the Canadian citizen and I was like "holy #######" when I found out. I think you guys should continue on with the wedding and then file for a spousal visa as soon as you have all your paperwork and marriage certificate and everything ready to file. The Guides here are fabulous, with example forms and step by step instructions on how to file, there is even a flow chart showing you what to expect. "How long" is really based from case to case. Some take 6 to 8 months, others take longer. Spousal visas are longer than the K1 fiance visa but if you two get married in 2 weeks that's definitely out. She may visit as long as she shows strong strong ties to Canada at the POE showing she's going to go back home after visiting. A letter from her employer stating she works there and that she is returning on such and such a date. Pay stubs showing she works there. Mortgage/Rent/Car lease agreements showing she still has financial ties to Canada, etc. etc. I believe she may visit for up to 6 months. I would enjoy your wedding, you are after all marrying the love of your life, read up on the guides as to what you both need, stay organized and wait patiently. Even if it's 8 months....in the grand scheme of things...that's just a drop in the bucket.
