I think perhaps your lawyer dropped the ball on sending it.
We sent our petition on December 5th and they received it on December 11th. It doesn't take two months to mail the petition unless it was lost in the mail....then finally they received it.
I've never heard of giving themselves a window.

That sucks.
they had a notice up on uscis website about up to a 15 week delay on receipting times. my case was affected by this i think. i just wondered if any one else here had sucha delay getting first noa.? thank you so much for your response.

I hope it's this case and not your lawyers fault, I would be pretty upset.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFrequently travelling and denied?
I've made many trips down to the states and never had a problem.
I usually just say "I'm visiting friends, etc. etc."
The last time the officer did ask me "When was the last time you were down?" I stated "last month" and that was all. He didn't ask me any more questions and let me go on my way.

I'd stick with 3 hours. Some people get called for secondary processing, and this can add up to an hour or more to the wait time. My husband didn't go through that, so he was out in the normal amount of time. I just figure there's enough stress that day, why add to it by having one hour less to clear immigration.

agreed.
I'd give yourself two to three hours smile.gif

A family member is going to be my co-sponsor for the Affidavit of Support because I do not make enough money and haven't been at my current job for very long... but how exactly does this work? Do we both need to fill out I-134 forms?
What does my fiance need to do next? How long might it be until the interview?

Click Here for the K1 Guides. It's a list of what you need for the intial petition.

At this point you don't need your birth certificate, but you can send it in if you like. We sent mine in even though it doesn't ask for it at this point just in case. I've seen people get RFE's for not including the beneficiaries birth certificate with the initial package.

Just read through the guides and take your time, fill everything in correctly and triple check what you've done after it's all together.
Don't forget to do a cover letter with a list of everything you have in your package and put all your documents in the same order listed on that cover letter.

Good Luck!

You get RFE if you AOS at USCIS instead of VSC. Then you have to make appointment with USC at NOA1. If you are approved they send I-865 to your NSC, otherwise you must call IMBRA for waiver.

oh but I thought you got IMBRA from CSC then it was transfered to NOA2 with the I-134?

I agree. Also if you know someone in the military then you qualify for a military expedite. Just attach a notarized affidavit that says "I know someone in the military, EXPEDITE PLZ KKTHXBAI."

Another tip: If you don't hear anything about your case within 24 hours of filing, use the "NVC Trick." Just do a forum search, plenty of people have done it and it almost always results in immediate approval.

You mean, that could work for me!??!!

The only problem I see here is that you met during a drug bust. Make sure you attach an affidavit that explains they were totally not your drugs and that you were holding them for somebody. Make sure you write "Seriously I am not making this up," or they won't think you're serious and making it up.

wink.gif

No no no Mox, I don't see that as a problem at all...my concern is the married to other people bit...but I think they could just go ahead and get married to one another..it would just cancel out the other marriages.

Laura, I sure hope you are right. I am a little jealous because you are at the Vermont service center. I can almost guarantee you will get yours sooner and I will still have a few months to wait. If it comes by June at least I will be happy but the wait has been hard this week and I am not sure why.

Dave, no need to be jealous but I know all too well how you feel. I do feel very lucky that our service center is Vermont but at the same time I'm being left behind too. Late December and January filers are being approved and here we sit.
There are people still waiting from 7+ months ago. The system is messed up.

Sometimes I am okay with it, sometimes I'm not. I cry, then I get some comfort and encouragement from my fellow VJ'ers and of course, my Nick.
All I can say is this...no matter when we get our NOA2s, whether I get mine tomorrow and you get yours a month from now...or I get mine 3 months from now and you get yours in 2 weeks....we will be with the one we love, no matter how much time passes, keep faith in that.
Your girl loves you just as my Nick loves me and we will be together.
Sending you hugs
~Laura

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 required for Visa waiver program countries?
She can come over on the VWP if Hungary becomes apart of it and you can get married at any time. The K1 is a totally different..you don't need it in order to use the VWP...it's separate.
The difference is, she can't just stay after getting married using the VWP..she has to go back to Hungary and you'd have to start over with the K3 or CR-1 in order for her to come back and live. With the K1, you come over and get married within 90 days and then you adjust status.
Be patient Dave, your NOA2 is coming in just a few more months.
Take each step, you'll cross that bridge when the time comes if for some reason the K1 doesn't work out, which I'm sure it will.
Best of luck to you! smile.gif

Knowing it can be cold up in that area, I used that to my advantage.

I offered the agent a entire frieght train of snow melt and snow blowers. One truck load of 6069 pairs of pink fur lined slippers ( one pair in red). One years of comlimentry dunkin donuts coffee for all, sugar and cream included.
In the end I was forced to throw in C -47 load of gummy bears as well.

As you can see I have my Noah 2
