No don't risk it if there's been changes. Plus you can get it transfered for a very good price, I would just get it done then.

Better over prepared than getting an RFE, I have never received an RFE and I don't think you have either, keep the record clean! biggrin.gif

agree sweetie....I'm going to just do it this way.
Thanks hon rose.gif

I was told that I didn't have to do this because I was from Canada. I forget who told me but if you're from Canada you don't need to do this. So I didn't do this at all, hoped for the best and I was correct, I didn't get an RFE and everything was smooth.

Dammit I wish I could remember who told me this. sad.gif
I just sent the records Dr. Seiden gave me.

I've read the same thing on here too. Captain Ewok posted something about it back in 2006 and someone asked in 2007 if this was still the case.
In June of 2008 they came out with the new version of the I-693 and made the I-693a obsolete.

You mailed yours in before the change......I wonder if I could still get away with it....
I don't want to risk an RFE cause it says right on my sheet from Dr. Seiden "For Use in Canada Only"\

Should I just risk it?

We are just sending the DS-3025 from the doctor in Calgary. I'm thinking if they've misplaced the medical, we are going to get an RFE for the entire thing even if we do get the vaccination record transcribed.

Just to make sure, Laura---you probably know this, but the 693A is now obsolete. There is a section on the DS-693 itself for the vaccines to go now. You can have him just do that section, plus the certification section, and fill out the "information about you" section yourself.

Yeah, I just found this out today.
Dr. Arnold's receptionist told me to send 2 copies of the first page of the 693 and just sign both. She was very clear about me not filling in any other information myself.
She wants all my info on a separate sheet of paper.
I'm assuming he will print out the other pages and then mail them all back to me. One sealed, one for my records.

Isn't there a doctor you can mail your vaccine sheet to and they will transfer it to the "correct form" for about $20. I remember Spiritalright looking for the name of the doctor, maybe she can tell you. I was just thinking of taking my chances and using the vaccine sheet I received from my medical in Canada. I think people have had success doing that, though you might get an RFE.

Dr. Arnold's office just called me back.
I'm going to have them fill it out, better to be safe than sorry and get an RFE.

Where on earth did you get your vaccination transferred to the I-693a. I just called the closest office and the girl has been there for 14 years and never had anyone do this.
She said I would need to have a blood pregnancy test to make sure I can receive the vaccines.....

Sigh...I am looking for more and have a whole list but I'll be on the phone all day.

Where did you guys go??

oh, bergen county, btw.

The signage in NJ is HORRENDOUS!!

You don't even know what street you are on half the time and you only catch the sign when you are already passed the street you needed to turn down.
It's horrible.

I miss the signs in Canada...it's SO much easier there!!!!

I don't know exactly but it's more than likely your entire petition from start to finish, medical, everything.
It's for the POE officer to open, you have to hand it over to him/her.

Your passport is separate and inside it is the K1 visa! it's pretty cool.

Dear Thetreble,

Please do not take this as a lecture, I am merely going to point out some stuff...because I care (and because I go through lots of shtuff). rose.gif

Wherever you go there you are.
Everyone knows this expression.
And few get it in a deep sense.

In other words, you do not feel comfortable where you are (and in your own skin - do you know this expression?)
and so everything in the universe is proving you right about how yucky the place is.
This can happen anywhere or about anyone.
Hey, I'm not saying that Jersey is paradise; I have never been.
Could see a section of it from Manhattan when I have visited there.

What I am saying is this:
Whatever we say about a place or about another person is simply a reflection of us.

I am learning this lesson in a huge way.

This does not make me better or smarter or anything...my human moments just about kill me.
There's that ego, running amok and I cannot stop it sometimes.
I want to be right! headbonk.gif

And so...what is truly important: love...compassion...understanding...peace.

When I respond from my feelings (my heart) I live in possibility and I create the world I want to live in (the near one anyways) yes.gif
and when I respond from my head (which is fear-based), well, nothing is good and nothing is right and I am not safe.

I was so in love - love love love - that everything in the world shone.
And nothing could be wrong.
And then I came to Chicago at the beginning of January and I could not take the house, the dog, the burbs, the cold.
Misery set in, big!

Choices.
Stay or go.
Wrong partner? ohmy.gif
Hmmmm...
Well, I got that something had compelled us together and me here to this place and so I did not run off.
Dive back into the heart heart.gif and see what is, and how could we work it work it work it blush.gif and make it good.

Life is too short for misery!! tongue.gif

I am not sure I expressed myself well, and so will reread this in a while and see if I would like to add or change anything.
Please do tell me how you feel about all this.
I threw in a whack of emoticons for emphasis. tongue.gif
star_smile.gif

In a nutshell:
Whenever i have loved and whenever I have hated...well, it is all about me and how I am feeling inside.

You are dead on as usual hon.
Your post paid me cry...
Life is what you make it and I know all too well that when you are not happy about yourself, everything around you is horrible.

Thank you for posting Spirit...you are awesome!!! star_smile.gif

I'm moving to NJ...I like it a lot but then again I've only visited.

The area where Nick is is lovely...even with the crazy traffic. There is lots to do and see and I felt safe walking at night.
I have many many people waiting for me when I go down there...a whole group of Nick's amazing friends (Who I adore) and his wonderful family.
Part of me is scared (especially after reading this thread) but this is what I chose to do...I'm going to be open minded about it.

I think I'll be okay. I'll miss Canada very much, I've lived here my whole life but I need to be with Nick right now.

We do plan on moving back after I get dual citizenship though...but hey, that could change too. Life is funny.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time there....life is uncertain and we never know what it's going to be like. I suggest waiting it out too until you have dual citizenship and then moving home. You are with your love...try and make the best of it!!!

Good luck!

We just wrote the story of how we met for the first time and how we visit eachother frequently. Then we attached some boarding passes, our receipts from the 3 cruises we went on together and photos. We also sent in phone records but we knew they weren't really necessary.

We have been dating long distance for 5 years and going back and forth for visits every 4-8 weeks so I just couldn't possible list every single visit. I mean I could've but I didn't save all my boarding passes so I figured a few of the ones I kept and a few other receipts was sufficient considering some people have only met once or twice and get through.

I figure if they see that we've been dating for 5 years now long distance it better be real!!

Anyways, I don't think you need that much detail. I don't think it would hurt, but I wouldn't waste too much time on it.

To be very neat, I would suggest you do the followings Exhibit or table of content:

In I-129f package - some of the proof are: photoes of you together (at least one engagement photos is best), email, boarding pass/airplane ticket, phone bills, moneygram, westernunion, letter of intend, engagement document/letter, financial support evidences, email, etc. Put them in table of content, exhibit item, or label/item, title "proof of meeting", then list all those evidences on this section. On your cover letter, the content might be like,

A. I-129f package
B. G-325A (both)
C. Affidavit of support - form I-134 and all w-2, paystubs, mortgage, car, board, stockbond, checking &
saving if any of value to you (assess), etc
D. Engagement letter - engagement photo, ring receipt, letter of intend (both you and your fiance(e),
F. Proof of meeting in person - photoes, plane ticket, etc
G. On going relationship - Money gram, Westernuniton, phone bills, email, etc.

In this way, you'll be sure not to get RFE...

Also, you need not write long story because they'll ask you on the interview so you might forget what you wrote. Simple two lines (one sentence) to fit in that box only. That's how i did, and they asked this question on the interview. The CO asked me (interview me more) not my fiancee...
Hope this help a bit...

no0pb.gif
You don't send in the Affidavit of support and all the accompanying documents with the initial petition. That is only needed at the time of interview.
Also...showing that money has been sent can be a red flag and not a good thing to do...I do not suggest this at all.
Also, emails and phone bills are not needed at that time either, again, only needed at the interview.

All went smoothly for Deb's interview - she is approved! she should be in the States in 3 weeks.
The only strange thing was they asked for a police report done in her married name (she's been divorced for some time now). It never crossed our minds to do this, especially since Deb never changed her name after she got married. The interviewer had to go and check with a superior as to whether it still had to be done and the final decision was it did not need to be done provided she had not changed her name when married AND that she would swear to such (which she did).
Don't know if this has come up before

Congrats!!! smile.gif
