Our envelope isn't yet showing up in their tracking system.

I had a bit of a freak out last night. We got back to Toronto, and Scott listened to his messages. He had one from the consulate asking him to call them, from Tuesday. No other info. I was like, omg, what if they found out they need some other piece of paper or something and we have to send it in and we aren't really approved and what if we don't get the visa in time for all the plans I made, yadda yadda yadda. Scott told me not to freak out, that it was probably nothing. Luckily, he was right. He called as soon as we woke up today and all they wanted to say was to remind him that he'll have to sign some form or something at the border, and that they mailed out the visa today. Whew! So hopefully our tracking info will show up soon. Does anyone know if those xpresspost envelopes are overnight or 2 day or what?

The train today was hell. It left NY on time but then we stopped in Saratoga Springs b/c there was a freight train ahead of us that had broken down and we couldn't bypass it. We were there for 2 1/2 hours before they transferred us onto buses, drove us up to Plattsburgh, and then transferred us back to a train to cross over the border. I got in at 10pm instead of 7. I emailed Montreal (no response yet) and just called DoS. The lady said they mailed it out on the 12th of May.
I think it sits in the mail room for like a week or something laughing.gif
I'll probably get it today.

I asked her what I should do if I don't get it, she said 2 weeks or so before the interview call and they would express mail one to me.

I'm sure I'll get it any day now.

About the border crossing, (she wasn't too friendly to start with) I said vacation, 3 weeks, she asked she also asked if i worked and i said no and that i was out from school. Then she asked what school, then what was at the adress i was going to visit and i said, i go visit my boyfriend and then she asked to see my return ticket and when i bought it. and she finally let me through... (felt relieved smile.gif)

Since i am with my sweety, the no interview date is not like the end of the world at least smile.gif

Jill, I visited Nick just over a month ago and had no problems.

I went through the peace bridge. I brought all sorts of evidence with me, letter from my employer, pay stubs to prove I worked there, bank statements, credit card statements. The officer didn't look at any of it.

I told him truthfully I was visiting my fiance. He asked me when we were getting married. How far along in the K1 process were we. When was the last time I was down in the U.S. He even joked with my dad about getting me out of the house. It was a breeze.

Be confident and truthful in your answers, and you'll be fine.
