CanadaWhat are your weekend plans?
Well we had a fantastic weekend in Afton NY....
Lots of action, a 3 hour canoe trip, berry picking, drunken evenings playing beer pong and riding quads through the woods.
I loved every second and was so sad to come home yesterday.

smile.gif I have tons of pictures so I'll post some soon.

Hope all had a great long weekend!!!

Honestly ever since we've moved we've been up and about every weekend and I was looking forward to having a weekend at home but life has other plans for me and we're going to Ocean City after work to spend a night with the inlaws at their shore house.

Ahh maybe next weekend. Next weekend is my DO NOTHING weekend. The phone gets turned off, the doors get locked, no one bother me plz. biggrin.gif

PS: The only reason I am going down to the shore is because I was promised boardwalk fries. laughing.gif

Have fun on your do nothing weekend! I love those kind of weekends sometimes!!!

This weekend we are going to a very fancy engagement party for our friends. Sunday, it's laundry and hanging out with my hubby.

Next weekend is camping upstate, I have been looking forward to this for like 4 months..omg yay!! biggrin.gif

Have a great weekend all!!!

A new associated question: If we are approved in October as we expect, the NOA2 is valid for 4 months. However, if we're able to extend it for another 4 months and postpone the interview, my fiancee could wait until after her 27th birthday to take the medical and, well, you get the picture.

So is anyone familiar with the procedure to request an extension on that NOA2 expiration? Would this plan even work?

I don't know about that, but would you could do is delay in sending back package 3 and then that way they won't issue an interview date until they have it from you...then in turn, delay in booking the medical.
That would work and was going to be my option if I got my NOA2 too early...mine worked out well, I had my medical the Monday after my birthday.

Best of luck!

see that is really scary!! I am 21 and my dr. once suggested me getting it, well sorry it was a student nurse for my nurse practitioner cause i dont have a "dr" but i really didn't know much about it and its not free so i just decided i didn't need it, so now im probably going to have to get it with my medical right?? how do i get around that, i see that one of the side effects is blood clots, i know my family has a history of blood clots could i maybe get a note from my nurse practitioner saying that its not in my best interest to get this due to my medical history? i really dont want to get it, or does anyone know of a specific dr that doesn't require it, i would be going to either toronto or london i think, im an equal distance from both

I don't know if you can get around it now...it's been a mandatory thing for about 6 months now...I think when TheATeam had her medical it was so new they let it slide..they probably are being more strict about it now.
All you can do is call and ask...
You could get a letter from your doctor stating the reasons as to why you shouldn't be getting the vaccine...

Man, that sucks bad.

When I went to my medical in Toronto, Dr Seiden looked at my file and said "Oh wow, you just turned 27, good thing or you would have had to gotten Gardasil, you're lucky, you just missed the age cut off".

A member on here "TheATeam" went to her medical in Vancouver a few months back just before her interview and the doctor let it slide on the Gardasil even though she was 26.

Since it's newer to the required list, I think some of the medical places are letting it slide, it really depends though. Dr. Seiden said that it is required to pass the medical in his office and if I had been 26 or under, I would have had to get it for him to sign off on my medical chart.

I don't know if anyone has actually refused it on here yet since it was just recently added. They may be more strict now since it's been at least 6 months since it's been on the required list.

Hi Laura! I am in the eaxct same boat right now. I feel awful because I can't fully tell my husband about it and if I attempt to, I break down. I have an 8 year old daughter but it feels like all of a sudden I want us to have another one - SOON! It's crazy but I do want to be a mother again and would love to share that feeling with my husband. But right now, we do not even have enough financially...

Sucks... I truly understand.

Thanks...
I'm sorry you are going through a similar situation.

My husbands knows I want a baby and he wants one too, it's just not the right time.

I just feel like....I almost shouldn't have a baby because of how my family would feel, I know my Mom would be heartbroken, she's even expressed to me that she wouldn't really know her Grandchild....that hurts me.

I wish both our families could be close...I wish so many things...but that's just not how things are.....I don't know how to stop feeling this way.

Hey guys...

I need to vent cause really...there is no one I can talk to about this.

I'm loving my life in New Jersey, even though I miss home I have an amazing career and Nick and I are very very happy.

I just feel like....I'm stuck. Nick sister just had a baby and I'm an aunt. He is so beautiful and when I was holding him I realized how much I want a child. It's not the time because Nick still isn't working but that doesn't turn off the "baby button" in me.

Today I got to thinking about when I do have children. At the hospital when we went to visit our new nephew, Nick's sister was surrounded by both families, hers and her husbands and I realize that I won't have that really.
I'll be raising my child without my mom there, without my grandparents or aunts or my brother to be there. They won't see my child regularly...they won't know them like I knew my Grandparents and I'm crying very hard right now because I'm heartbroken over this thought. This is so difficult.

If we were to move to Canada, Nick's family would be in the same boat. I don't know what to think and I feel like....I have two separate lives. My life here and one that's waiting for me to return back in Canada.

I miss my family. I miss everything so much it hurts and I feel so torn. It's hard to talk to Nick about these things because he gets very upset. He feels guilty and I don't want to make him feel that way.

I need some comfort and I don't have anyone around me. All of my friends are back in Canada....all my friends here are Nick's, they aren't really mine.

I'm sorry for going on....I just feel very alone right now.

I realize not everyone needs an MRI, but the point is that if someone requires it and there's only a few, whoever needs it might have to wait a long, long time. That's just about as inefficient as the U.S. system where it costs a ton without insurance. Both systems hinder access to something that a patient needs.

I disagree.

I am ranting about the stupid Waterdown Ontario woman Shona who is on CNN ranting her head off about universal healthcare.
What the heck is she thinking?
My parents know her personally.....she had a brain tumor and was misdiagnosed in Canada.
She ended up going to Texas and got treatment for a huge amount of money...
Now she's on CNN telling everyone to stay far away from Universal health care in the States.
Is she a moron or what??? As my Dad would say "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater"

Yes it's horrible what happened to her...but lady, this could have happened anywhere in the world.
I don't get why the U.S. can't get with it. They are so busy holding onto their freedom and independence but they are not taking care of their own people...unless those people happen to be loaded.

It's an uphill battle and we just took two steps back.

Should I just go to the bank?
I have time and Gary my Lender said that if I'm able to get a better rate elsewhere, he encourages me to do so. Why would someone say that if they didn't mean it???

CanadaHow to check my credit
Oh I wanted to add, our loan isn't through a bank, it's through Lend America. They are a pretty good company, been in business for several years and our lender was recommended by a friend who got a mortgage through him as well.

Our bank (TD Bank) WHICH TOTALLY SUCKS btw...TD in Canada ROCKS! It totally sucks down here, I don't know what the hell is wrong with them...but ANYWAY!

They are advertising 30 year FHA loans at 4.7% etc, BUT they won't give pre-approvals?!? Doesn't that seem odd? It's like "Hey, so you can't afford a lot but here, we'll give you this loan BUT we won't give you a pre-approval so that you can buy the house in the first place".....HMMM unsure.gif

We were going to drop in the bank to talk to someone just to see but I'm not sure. I've been dealing with Gary for weeks now and feel very good about him...even though we are at 5.2%

To answer some questions:

My lender Gary is awesome. He sent us paperwork of what our credit scores looked like. Nick has amazing credit, I, of course, have zero. He was wondering if I could get him a copy of my credit in Canada so that he could at least try to incorporate it somehow, he wasn't quite sure if it was possible or not.

We were approved a 30 year FHA loan at 5.2%. He gave us a pre-approval. We actually found a home we love that's under our price point and we put an offer in yesterday morning!!! smile.gif
Still waiting to hear back. blush.gif
My parents, who completely rock, just sent Nick and I a good chunk of money to help us out. I was in tears.

Sapphire, good thinking, I had no idea I could be added to someone's credit card!! I'll talk to Nick about that tonight when he gets home from work.

We are excited, nervous and scared but...that's what house hunting is all about!!!! kicking.gif
