AND A YEAR AGO AFTER THE INTERVIEW MY SO WAS TOLD HE WOULD HEAR FROM THEM IN ONE MONTH. MY GONGRESS MAN HAS EMAILED THE CAIRO EMBASSY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. AND THE REPLY IS ALWAYS 2 SENTENCES.... THE CASE IS IN ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN IT IS COMPLETE. I'M FEELING HOPLESS SAD TO SAY. BUT TRUE. Wow, that is...insane.... You should have recieved the visa in a few days to a week by mail if you were approved. Are you sure you were approved???? I have no idea what you should do, contact an immigration lawyer..have you tried calling and talking to an actual person about this? Wow...I'm speechless.... This typically means they are conducting additional background checks and they provide no timeframe for that. Sometimes AP is completed in weeks, sometimes in months, and as you are finiding out, it can take over a year. Its just so common in the MENA countries. Definitely check out that forum for additional assistance from those who have experienced this first hand. That is so sad isn't it? WOW... That doesn't sound good. I really have no idea. They never said you were approved or denied but they said they would contact you in a month and it's been a year?!?! Something is seriously messed up. Have you called them directly to talk to an actual person instead of just e-mailing? Your Congressman hasn't been able to help??? wow.... I would contact an immigration lawyer asap. It gives an estimated time line based on other filers with the same country and service center as you. It's a pretty good tool and can give someone an estimated time for a possible approval.
