My spouse lives in the weat bank.

Ok, but if she live in west bank, she can ask there for original documents.

So when she go for the interview them brings.

Please someone help; i have read so much and even my spouse called the consulate in NVC, but we are no closer to finding the confident answer.

Everywhere I read, it says NVC says they require original docs. However, when I read the consulate specific requirements for Jerusalem, it says the docs brought to the interview must be the originals and a checklist letter would be sent, that requires a signature, (that confirms we have the required originals), and that signature page to be sent back. Then, the appointment would be made.

So, do we need originals to send to NVC and originals to bring to the interview?

During the call to the consulate, they said they require originals be brought to the interview, but that consulate worker has no idea what NVC requires and to email a nonimmigrant inquiry email address at the Jerusalem consulate.

Does anyone have any information?

Yes, you need to send to the NVC original documents.

So if you don't send original document when you will do the interview they can ask to you the original.

I send all original documents to NVC, I would not need to bring other original documents,but to be safe take them.

I think you should be fine. I see why you worry, but I think is a tricky question. I strongly believe they base approval on petitioner and beneficiary only.

Because they do background checks. If your records are clean, no worries. Just be truthful in answering the DS260.

I know, truth up all ever!! Only I hope they don't denied visa for this...after so long time to wait when I think this I'm so worry.

Why are you worried about denial if the question is no . If its yes than yes you will be denied. US government feels very strongly on that. They ask aout your parents because they want to know the whole family history on the subject.

I'm worry beacause the answer is yes..but why, I'm ok, my police record is ok, why if my parents have a problem, I can have denied for this? me I'm clean! why..

Hi Guys, I read DS-260 screenshots, and in the section "Security Background: Medical Health Information" I read this question:

"Are you the spouse, son, or daughter of an individual who as violated any controlled substance trafficking law, and have knowingly benefited from the trafficking activities in the past five years?"

But what they mean??

They speak about my petitioner, in my case my spouse, but maybe in another case can be a father or mother.

Or they speak about my husband or my parents? I don't undestand.

I have paid AOS fees on Feb 7, and mailed documents on Feb 11. DS 260 and IV fees is still not available. how long dose it takes for DS 260 and IV fees to come available.

Nope nothing will change until you get an interview. So in about maybe 2 weeks or how ever long your nerves can take call and see if they have been reviewed and if you hav case complete.

The case complete email comes 1 week after case complete. Than you are in the queue for interview.

So now is the gruesome waiting (they say 30 days to review lets hope less)

Thank you for the answer dwheels...wait again...I'm so tired to wait!!! I hope I don't to expect much...by the end of this year, you think can I have an interview?! I hope with all my heart, I can't wait to stay with my hubby finally after 2 looooooong years!!

im so excited the best gife ever my approvel. i would like to know average extimate how long it should take from approvel till she get her interview and how long should it take at nvc. i was thinking would it help if i attend the interview itsat u.s.a embassy in yemen

surname issue on passport

My wife changed her last name to mine when we got married. She didn't have one before. Her birth certificate just has her first name. Last name is blank. Her afghan identification paper and our marriage certificate have the new name on it. The passport though has the name written as (first name)(new last name) then under surname it says D/O (her father's first name). So im not exactly sure what to put for surname on the DS-261. Should it be just the new last name or do I have to include the D/O blurb too? Thanks for the help

I would not be wrong, but when you complete forms DS-261 & DS-260 first and last name are automatically wrote.

question about Affidavit of Support

I just paid the AOS fee (for CR1). Since I found the instruction on the Dept of State website so confusing about the next step, I decide to ask here instead. Do I need to wait for NVC send me a form of Affidavit of Support and ask me to pay the IV fee by mail next? or should I just download the form online and send them by mail now?

Hi, NVC don't send the form, you need to download it online,print and complete. After, attach this with other documents and Document Cover letter (when AOS fee show PAID) and send AOS Package.

Some day after IV fee will became available.

Middle Name issue

Do you have any written document in which there is also middle name? if yes put this document with your passport for safety, so you have a proof. ( I had a problem with my last name, because when I got married my last name changed, so I always carry my passport in a marriage certificate,cause in my passport I have my maiden last name)

And for your second question, I think yes, if you have a middle name in the US I think that you should write in the form. Good Luck

Aliases at the NVC and Mumbai

Hi guys,

I have a legal name + alias that I indicated on i-130, G-325A and so on.

It's not my maiden name (im a dude)

I also indicated that extra alias on Form DS-260 as well ( for the IV interview)

On my passport I do not have that alias - I only have my ONE legal name.

Do you think the PSKs will be able to grant me a PCC for each alias ?

The alias was created during my previous stay in USA just fyi.

Anybody with any prior experience on cases like this ?

"Alias" is like "middle name"?

CEAC Status change??

You casefile does not go to embassy until after interview is assigned to you. Until then you wait.

As far as when status changes it changes when you get interview it will go to "Ready" that is embassy specific and like I had mentioned in the interview thread.

Interviews start up for the next month (May is next) usually the last days of the month. So expect to maybe hear around the 28th of March if you are in line for next round of interviews.

My petition approved on January 2nd 2014, and The USCIS said (case statu)the petition shiped on January 7 but still not get any mail from NVC.we are waiting more than 10weeks.
We called every week but The NVC still not received it. I don't have idea what's going on?

Try to call USCIS and ask to they why NVC don't receive your case yet.

Our case was approved December 13, 2013 and we still wait on interview, in Egypt.
I call every week and case still sits at NVC waiting for open visa..

NVC schedules interviews, I ask this question every time I call..

Anyone know what's happen now? somewhere here on the forum I read someone who has received packege 3 and after had to send fax some documents or forms to the Consulate..this applies to all, IR/CR-1 and F2A?

Maybe it's a stupid question, but please explain to me this, I read some people have had to call the consulate to schedule an interview...but isn't the NVC, send IL with interview date already scheduled?

Spouse last name on forms

visa will be in passport name and green card will be in passport name. It is $450 to change the green card. So if you want the green card in married name you can either change the passport before interview (bring the old one as well) or wait until ROC or green card renewal to change it (to save the most money.)

i spoke with NVC and they told me to go with whats on her travel documents again, however they said that they will cross reference with the new last name, i guess by looking at the marriage certificate. happy to see that ur case is completed, does that mean that they issued you guys an interview date or still waiting?

Yes,on my documents I have the maiden name, so for sure in my passport I put a marriage certificate for explan that.

Spouse last name on forms

Hi guys,

I just paid the AOS fee and waiting for it to be cleared before sending the AOS paperwork. My wife took my last name when we got married and it has been stated on the marriage certificate, moreover i have filled out the I-130 with her new last name. Now at the NVC stage, i have filled out the DS 261 and automatically my wifes maiden last name appeared on the online registration, I called the NVC and was told that whatever is last name appears in her travel document go with that, which is her maiden last name. I am filling out the I-864 and its asking for Family Name, should i use my last name or my wifes maiden name? The DS 230 also asks for a family name but theres a section called "other names used or aliases" which i can place her maiden name. I wonder if anyone has any ideas and experience with this situation. i will be calling the NVC as well once the phone lines ease up.

Hi! Me too when I get married I took the last of my husband. In the online form appear my new last name, so you can write maiden name in a second part of this form.

I found out via phone call to NVC that our case is complete. No interview date scheduled yet. I wish everyone all the luck in this process. I hope you get case completed soon. Do you know how long it will take NVC to schedule an interview date at the US embassy in Lagos?
