had the interview on 13 April 2009 in Dominican Republic. we both had all documents, pictures, etc. the process took just about all day. in DR, you actually interview through a window. the interviewer has all your previously submitted documentation and is looking at it as she asks you questions. in fact, for us, that is where the questions came from - the previously submitted documentation. any of the documentation you submit, such as I-130 application, K3, K1 or whatever, you need to know what you filled out on those forms (ie parents names, spouse education/occupation, birthdate, etc). those are all fair game for interview questions. Also, they look at your 'body language' as you approach the interview window. are they holding hands, hugging, walking up to the window separate or together, how you look at each other, etc. that is not imply you walk up to the interviewer hanging over each other, but just keep in mind you should appear as a couple going through this process together. for us, we were asked 3 simple questions.

both - when did you meet?
wife - where did you learn english?
me - how did you meet?
both - does your wife/husband have any children or ever been married before?

that was it. the entire interview took less than 10 minutes. while she asked the questions, she was looking at me, my wife, looking at our expressions, demeanor towards her and each other.

these are just a few notes to share with everyone, especially those whose interviews are coming up..

We were the same way used Chat programs to communicate, I printed out the logs from the chat programs.

Never made a phone call, just used Skype, I did print out screen shots of Skype's logs, showing makeing Skype to Skype, and Skype to her cell number a few times.

They look at the entire scope of communications evidence.

This is what I did too for my proof of on-going relationship. Pictures of you together, letters, Skype Screen shot and chat logs.

I HAVE APP ON THE 1 OF JUNE. DO I NEED TO FILE FORM 134 (NOTARIZED? AGAIN, I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THERES NO NEED FOR IT BUT ON THE INSTRCUCTIONS IT SAYS IT DOES) OR 864(FOR MYSELF AND JUST STATE THAT I AM UNEMPLOYED)?
AND FOR THE JOINT SPONSOR, DO THEY NEED TO FILE 134 ALSO OR JUST STRAIGHT TO 864. HE IS MARRIED SO HE ALSO NEEDS A I864A FOR HIS WIFE AND SINCE SHE IS UNEMPLOYED AND IS CLAIMED ON HIS INCOME TAXES, SHE DOESNT NEED ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES HER GREEN CARD.
PLEASE BE VERY SPECIFIC WITH YOUR ANSWERS. I REALLY REALLY NEED TO DO THIS AND I AM VERY CONFUSED. sad.gif

The visa exam has only two purposes:
1. to protect the public health of the citizens of the US
2. to exclude mentally or morally defective persons from the US who might become public charges.

In other words, they want to protect the people who already live in the US.
