The NVC sent approval to the embassy who received it 5/18.

I have called to schedule an appointment, and they have told me that I need to call back in two weeks.

I realize that this is the standard response, but I was wondering what is the REAL timeline. It has cost me $18 so far. I had planned to call every other day until I can schedule. I really don't want to waste money, but I need to get this scheduled as soon as possible.

I am going to the Philippines on 5/30. I need to return to the US 7/9. I want to be present at the interview.

Any insight or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

We received the U.S. immigration service-approved K1 visa petition (I-129F) from the State Department's National Visa Center (NVC) on April 23, 2009.

Embassy Manila has simplified scheduling procedures for K visa applicants. Qualified K1 visa applicants can now schedule their own visa interview appointment.

You should contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center at telephone 1-909-101-7878 to schedule a visa interview date. The Call Center number is for subscribers of PLDT and Smart telephone touchtone landlines with national and international distance dialing features (NDD or IDD access). Callers in the USA can contact the Call Center at 1-888-877-9888. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Manila time). There is a fee assessed to callers by the Call Center for its services.

K1 visa applicants should have their case numbers ready when they call to schedule an appointment.

Embassy Manila no longer sends information packets to K visa applicants. Our website at http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3238.html contains instructions for K1 applicants regarding the required procedures to follow prior to the interview date. The website also contains the visa information packet and forms which you may download, as needed.

If you would like to inquire further about the status of the visa case, you may contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center.

Future fiancé(e) and immigrant visa inquiries should be directed to this web link: http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3230.html.

Guys I need your advice regarding CFO seminar.....
Where is best to go? TAFT or QC?
idea9dv.gif Any other tips to share aside from knowing your fiance mom's maiden name?
Thanks in advance!

Go to QC. Take my advice coz I accompanioed my fiancee to Taft Avenue thois past February and it was a complete day of being messed with.
Be sure to have your fiancee take a copy of everything she took to the embassy interview. I was glad I had my fiancee do this because CFO after the seminar conducts a one on one interview and they asked my fiancee for a copy of my divorce decree and if she did not have it she would not have received the CFO sticker certification in her passport. One girl did not have this and had a flight scheduled the next day and ended up with having to change her flight at a cost of a $200.00 change fee. Taft Ave. does not give the sticker, only gives the seminar and interview. The QC location gives both and takes less time. Taft Ave sends you to another location which takes 4 hours just to get the sticker. We were at Taft Avenue PRISM at 9am and did not get finished getting the sticker until 4:30pm. Have your fiancee prepared to answer any questions similiar to what the embassy asks during their interview. Also you will not be allowed to enter the seminar with her at either location. Good luck and try to keep calm during the stressful CFO experience.

ei what is CFO all about? What is CFO stands for? is this after u get your visa?

You will be fine. I got the same problem too. What I did I ask him to write my a letter or send me a card and he did. I think two or three card/letters. The consul read them. hehehe

Remittances, chat logs, chat screen shots, pictures and joint account are good. Don't worry as long as you can prove that you had a genuine relationship you know him, you are good!

PhilippinesVisa Expiration
QUOTE (MarPhee @ May 28 2009, 11:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi VJers smile.gif

i got my visa last may 9 and i will be flying to US (Tacoma, WA) this June 25. My visa expires on Oct. 15, 2009. what is the visa expiration for? is it like i need to file for AOS before it expires? do i also need to take the medical in US? i had my medical april 17, 2009. about my vaccination according to St. Luke's personnel (doctor/nurse/medi tech) i need to have another shot of those 1 or 2 vaccines i forgot those two... ill give u the name of the vaccines later when i got home. luv.gif hehehe.. and it says ill take it after a month.. it confuses me i wont gonna be able to fly to US after a month after my medical... so i have to do the vaccination all over again? or i have to do the medical all over again?

me and my fiance are planning for a civil marriage but according to him we will try the inquire about church wedding the prob is we need to attend classes for the church wedding and it will take a month or so im just afraid my visa will expire then or my medical will expire then... by the way how many months will the medical expires? when u adjust status how would they count for medical expiration? is it for the time of filing AOS or is it during scheduled interview or medical? headbonk.gif

Lastly, what is the easiest way or the comfy way for a marriage for limited time? civil or church marriage? the first plan actually is to do church wedding in Cebu since my family is here and his family too (mother's side) and there in the US is civil marriage. innocent.gif

Thanks for the replies smile.gif

God Bless Us smile.gif

They will give you a form I94 to fill up. An I-94 is a form denoting the Arrival-Departure Record of particular foreigners.

As you enter the U.S. through a U.S immigration port-of-entry. The U.S. immigration official gives your fiancé(e) instructions on what to do when he/she enters the United States. You must get married within 90 days of your fiancé(e)’s entry into the United States.

The K-1 visa allows a fiancé(e) to enter the United States one time only. If you leave the United States after entering on a K-1 visa, you may not re-enter on the same visa. If you want to leave and re-enter the United States, you should apply with Form I-131 Application for Travel Document to the USCIS office that serves the area where you live for advance parole to return to the United States.

After marriage, your spouse must file Form I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status with the USCIS office that serves the area where you live in the United States. You must fill out the Affidavit of Support, Form I-864, with the USCIS for your spouse's application to become a lawful permanent resident (LPR).

If your spouse’s medical examination for their Fiancé Visa was done in the last year, they DO NOT need to go through the entire exam again. Once that year period has passes, a full exam will be required with the application.

If you can file before the year expiration, then your spouse will only need to include an immunization update with the adjustment of status package. This will still require a visit to the Designated Civil Surgeon, but the cost for an update is MUCH less than a full examination. The Surgeons will not tell you these facts as they see many patients with differing needs. So you will need to tell them these details.

PhilippinesHow to help adjust when here?
It is how she will accept things. Living in America is different from PI. No matter how well thought out your move to US may have been, there may be times when you feel a touch of home sickness. You may miss friends or your family. You may miss the things you do in your own country.

This may be helpful to her to:

1. Let her bring familiar items from home to your new location. Photos help to give one a sense of continuity and ease the shock of a new environment. What I did is I took a picture of our town, as I took them I realized that I will miss the placed where I live.

2. Familiarize her with the new surroundings. Walk around with her. She will feel more in control if she know where grocery stores, school, church, malls, etc. are located. (My hubby asked me what is the first thing I want to do when I came to US. I told him I want to be familiar where I live.)

3. Make friends. It can alleviate the pain of homesickness. (This really helps a lot.)

4. Write her family and friends. Help to stay connected and know what she missed. (I do sometimes don't want to talk most of my friends cause I may feel I want to go home. I miss them. crying.gif )

5. Lastly, let her do something. Make her busy so she won't think about homesickness. star_smile.gif

This is a process of letting go of the past and taking up a new direction in life.
Filipinos are flexible and tough!

Kelangan ba na pagkatapos ng kasal, iapply agad ang AOS? Di ba sa K1 visa, kelangan ikasal bago mag 90 days, pano malalaman ng embassy na kasal ka na?i mean, is it really needed to do it before 90 days? Pano ba ang dapat gawin? We're lost here.
Hope you guys can help us.Thanks in advance.

It allowed the foreign fiancee to enter the U.S. first and to have up to 90 days to marry her American citizen fiance. If she married him within the 90 days, she could stay in the U.S. forever. If she decided that she no longer wanted to marry her fiance sponsor, she only had to depart the U.S. prior to the expiration of the 90 day period and she would still be eligible for another fiancee visa with the same or a different fiance.

You need to apply AOS as soon as you get married or you wil be out-of-status.
