K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How to mail important papers overseas?	These are my experiences since last fall with the concentration of them coming February and after. As they say: your mileage may vary. I can only speak for Russia <-> US and what I've actually experienced. I've used all three: USPS, FedEx, and DHL. All my experience has been with Russia. I agree with the statement of checking with the fiance(e) in the country it's going to. Here's my experience. I love FedEx ONLY in the US; overseas it seems to depend where it's going. Others have reported this to me from within Russia. The USPS uses FedEx to its claimed fasted international service and that costs the most. I sent papers for Maria to sign via that route. Bad choice. She found out that the packet was just sitting at the 3rd party delivery office and claimed attempted delivery which as false. It looked like they were sitting on it until the guaranteed delivery date!! I don't ever plan to use FedEx internationally regardless of who it's via -- in the US, always, never again overseas ! DHL only was sent to me from a small town in Russia; it worked it seemed in reasonable fashion. USPS I've actually used the most. I've use the international, global express and registered mail. I've found the quickest to be the global express for some $30; it is traceable on the web. The only problem I had was one book entitled "Dictionary of American Idioms" and I believe it was stolen. USPS didn't argue with me when the tracer came back "lost" so I got full postage and even though I had no receipt for the book and had gone to the book store and bought the exact book to resend, I'd photocopied the new receipt, put it with the claim, and they paid it. Registered air mail is actually cheaper than global express and more secure though it takes longer. Registered, insured, with return receipt takes about two weeks to medium sized towns inside Russia. Global express takes about 5 - 7 days. She' sent me packages via Russian mail: one air mail that got here ok not too long; global express same type of thing as the US counterpart. No problem. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	now am even more confused.. USCIS told me after NOA2 it will be sent direct to embassy!?	That's interesting. People on VJ have reported the NVC has never confirmed their petition and suddenly the Beneficiary in the foreign country get packet 3 or some kind of notice or both get a notice the petition's at the embassy. I think possibly, even though the SC probably doesn't have a clue if they're the helpless desk because they're reading from a script they're provided and have absolutely no insight into the process, some do get sent or could get sent to the embassy directly. Does your NOA2 have a number above the fiance)e)'s name and the number is preceeded by the letter "A"? Mine does and I wonder if that's an assigned, THE infamous "A" number. Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of man! Only the Shadow!! Seriously ... I called last night after reading someone with our exact NOA2 date called and they were in the system. I was under the impression that the case number identifies the specific petition/visa application while the A# identifies the (excuse the term) alien him/herself. Like A### ### ###, beneficiary for case number ############. But who really knows? I just found out they received it today and the case number begins with MOS and then numbers. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	What does NVC Case Number Look Like?	Lisz, It's the case, or file, or whatever you want to call it, number that the USCIS uses to reference an alien's cases. You'll find it asked for on all USCIS petitions and applications so that they can keep each alien's files all together. Yodrak What is this beneficary's number for ? Yes, you're absolutely. <slapping hand and wrist! bad me!> I put a title about the NVC number and then in the text body ask about a number in the NOA2. How thoughtless of me!! You get the drift. Question # 1: what does the NVC Case number look like? I don't want someone's number. I just want to know what it looks like, pure numbers, mix of A/N, letters ... and the like. Question #2: it's been answered as the Alien Number. So I guess everyone get an A-Number, an Alien Number printed above the Beneficiary's Name in the box for the Beneficiary. I was touched 3 times in a row in less than 2 weeks, and now it's been 3 weeks since the last touch and we've heard no news, so I guess it's a good sign but rather random. No pattern. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	what can i do?? 17 days since NOA2 and nothing!!	603 334-0700 You should be able to get through. You'll need your Receipt Number. IF they have your Petition, they'll ask some security questions before they answer you question whether or not they have your Petition. They'll ask either about the Beneficiary or the Sponsor. They'll also ask to confirm a telephone number, probably the number the Sponsor put on the Petition. Don't forget to ask them for the Case Number. If you do like I did, you can call back; I had to do that. On the other hand, there are those who never heard anything from the NVC and suddenly it was at the Embassy. Keep the faith!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	what can i do?? 17 days since NOA2 and nothing!!	slowly, am getting crazy.... after i waited so long to get the NOA2 and i was so happy, it seems the waiting time will not end. and, what make me to be frustrated even more is, i have no chance to rich anybody at NVC.. only the f..... automated system. and, of course, they say daily the same... we have not received ur case.. bla bla. after soon 3 weeks??? i ve sent a mail, no reply. thanks. anybody a idea what i have to do to get somebody there i can talk with? or do they have diffrent numbers? its really unbeleiveble... Yesterday later in the afternoon EST I called the NVC number that was on the NOA2. The prompts have one that says K visas; I chose that one; I think it went to the wait queue for a live person. The time the automated system said it'd take was 3 minutes; it took more; I just stayed on the phone. He man asked for the NOA2 notice number, same as NOA1, didn't find the case in the NVC system, then ask SSN. Then he asked me to read the first paragraph of the NOA2 to make sure I had what I thought I had and was asking about. Then he said it takes 2 - 4 weeks for them to receive it. Some seem to have gotten notice from the NVC rather quickly; however, that was before all the IMBRA started coming down. I wonder if this NVC situation is the result of IMBRA and additional checks. They usually send cases out in batches but it takes the embassies a few weeks to process them so allow 3-4 weeks then you should have your packet 3. Why not go ahead and download all the forms now from VJ save yourself some time? Adele Adele, How do you know what forms to download? I've gone to the Embassy site in Russia. There are two places on the site where one page says one form [I-134] and the other says another form [the I-864]. Plus one says one fee and the other says another fee. It appears either the site's not been updated or there's confusion. It's unclear if the k supplement has to be in Russian; the DS-156 must be in Russian. I called yesterday again and found out they got our Petition, too, on 5/19, plus got the Case Number. Now we can track it on the Embassy Web site for Interviews. When i was at our interview i saw 1 visa not given because there was no updated intent to marry form and a couple others for lack of evidence ....i did here about 1 getting denied at the interview because they discovered somehow at the lat minute that the woman had been a prostitute in another country ....Also i have been seeing where people are getting a really tuff interview if there is a communication problem such as you cannot communicate well in at least 1 language - i know this is not grounds for denial but it is making for a much more difficult interview .	jmoon87	Not Telling	Colombia	2006-02-01 13:17:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Evidences for K-1	You should bring everything but the kitchen sink to the embassy for the interview , my point is that for the application you need to prove that you have met in the last 2 years face to face- emails and letters dont prove this so you need to make sure what you are sending proves you have met face to face in the last 2 years and by all means send in whatever else makes you feel confident ...i worried i did not send enough but for some reason copies of two tiks and 3 photos was all i provided for the whole process and i am still scratching my head why they did not accept our other eveidence at the interview when i tried to give it to them .	jmoon87	Not Telling	Colombia	2006-02-09 10:09:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Evidences for K-1	Aussie , i agree with you and that is what i was told by the attorney that did my petition -that sometimes too much can be a problem and can slow down the process ...but by all means i think everybody should send in what they feel good about sending but my only WARNING is make sure you read emails and letters and such to make sure that there is nothing that may be misleading or misconstrued ...remember INTENT TO MARRY not we will try it out for 90 days and see how it goes or how you will like it in the u.s. ....i would like to think most people know not to send in anything that may be misleading but sometimes being in a hurry or what may seem like a innocent email may be something that causes a red flag .....eitheir way good luck to all ..	jmoon87	Not Telling	Colombia	2006-02-08 11:47:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Evidences for K-1	I will give an example of what my immigration attorney told me ........We sent in 3 photos and copys of 2 airline tickets -that was it and at our interview they asked for nothing else also even though we did bring a stack of stuff ...it was explained to me like this when i asked about sending emails and phone records .my attorney told me he gets 1-3 cases a month from couples denied because of verbage in emails -Example -(its ok honey if you dont like it here you can always go back we will try it and see how it goes type of stuff or inside jokes between a couple )remember these are nothing but words on paper to the officer looking at them and they can often be misconstrued so just be carefull what you send ........He did say he sends a few easy to read emails and phone records if the relationship has been over 2 years because because this can help validate that the petitioner is just not traveling for work or to see family and will help clarify the timeline ..in my case i had only traveled to colombia twice in the last 6 months when the petition was sent and my fiance had never travled to the u.s. so obviously through the photos we had only met in the last 2 years .	jmoon87	Not Telling	Colombia	2006-02-08 10:24:00
